Quiet around here
 Hey y'all,
:carrot: It's been quiet around here...sorry I haven't been posting either... guess we are all busy... today was a normal day- as normal as Monday can be in a kindergarten class... the week before spring break ;) :dizzy: I weighed in yesterday- down another pound... :cp: I need to update my ticker.... how are YOU doing?? keep us posted...drop by and say hello! :cofdate: off to get some exercise... walk or bike ???:bike: Reba |
Hello! Hello?? :?: Anybody out there? How are you doing?? How is your week going?? Keep us posted! For me, it was a normal Wednesday... work, church... I did skip choir tonight because I needed to run to Walmart and I hate getting there late.... This may sound crazy, but tonight Theresa and I said no to something and I'm proud of us! We have revival coming up soon (March 26- 29) and we were asked to take care of the 3 - 5 year olds one night.... could we do it? yes? Do we feel God is asking us too? No... we are so actively involved with so many ministries at our church that we felt like this was a no time.... There are many that aren't involved on a regular basis... and this could be a good time for them to be involved.... as Theresa said... we want to be adults this time... we love teaching GAs on Wednesdays... but once in a while we need to be with the grown ups.... I have a confession too... I haven't been doing so great on my spiritual commitments for over a month... it started back in February.... to show you how far behind I am... I'm in week 4 of the bible study....BUT.... I have done it 2 nights this week so far and plan on doing it before bed again tonight.... Reba |
Checkin in
Reba I do agree it is quiet in here - so guess we will have to become more 'active' ourselves right ;)
I agree with you that sometimes we have to say no to Church activities and let someone else help out. As for keeping all the commitments, must say I have fallen aside somewhat myself. But that does not mean I can't / won't get back on track. So what are my goals for tomorrow March 16, 2006 a) 4 bottles of water (which is 8 glasses) b) 45 minutes of exercise (I walk in place to music and /or TV). I don't watch much tv but have decided that if there is a show which is 1 hour that for 30 minutes of it I have to walk in place. So that should help. c) tomorrow I will get in 2 pieces of fruit and 2 servings of veggs. d) devotions / Bible Study / Scripture Reading / Praying are a must for me - but must admit that I have fallen behind in my Bible Study so tomorrow I will take time to do a lesson there also. Ok, so that is where I am at - anyone else out there following this plan or looking at it - please come and join us in sharing how we are doing. |
Doing well
Am doing well.
We have all the living room and kitchen now primed - and this weekend will put on the 'good color' - then we will be ready for the hardwood floors. With following this program - having a bit of trouble - the food plan is great but the part I am having difficulty with at the moment is the exercise. Need to work on that. Also am looking at building my web site. Hopefully there is no problem with posting a link to it here. http://www.freewebs.com/marilyn1111/weightchart.htm I can hear daughter and sounds like she needs some attention - music is gettng a bit to loud! Will come back in a bit and update on how the plan is working for me. |
Do I have to?? Do I have to report in today?? :( :?:
Today has not been a good day, :dizzy: Live it wise.... it was Melissa's (the teacher I work with) birthday.... one of the kids brought donuts for her birthday...we had lunch out... ice cream with the kids... then some of the other teachers brought cheesecake, chicken dip and crackers...... and as if that wasn't enough.... it was ladies night out with church.... UUGGGHHHHHH..... :ink: :barf: :ink: too much junk today... I was too bad to even begin to count it.... :ink: :barf: one good thing.... i went to water aerobics... :carrot: I was late to the ladies fellowship, went with wet hair ... after aerobics.... (now... just so the image isn't totally crazy.... I don't dunk my head usually, so it was the ends wet....)..... well, there's my report... Reba |
Hey Y'all,
I'm not sure anyone is even reading this since there have been no posts since my last one...:( I have gotten basically back on track since Thursday's food frenzy, but not perfectly... I helped a friend with an art show this weekend...so there were a few things off plan, but portion wise was ok.... it's spring break for our schools here so I'm off for the week. Will be leaving on Wednesday to go camping until Sunday! Woohoo!! can't wait...will get in exercise through hikes... Reba |
I'm reading them!
Reba I think it is just the two of us in here - and I must apologize for not posting more often. That is not nice of me at all.
We have been trying to get our house ready for sale and with all of that, plus preparing to have our closest friends move away  - they leave on Monday - I just have not been around here. Add homeschooling my daughter does not help either. Anyway enough of the excuses. I have fallen behind in my Bible study but am going to get one day's worth of it done today - for sure. I have not been doing the best with the eating program or the exercise. But have started up the walking again today. Walked 1 mile with hubby day, and I also got out the pedometer to count my steps - so far 2, 048 I have recorded and am looking to record 4,000 today so I can add another mile to my walking chart making for a total of 15 miles. Food wise I need to start charting it again - so will start putting it up here again - So let's do this - I know we can - it is a good program - |
sprout,
I understand being busy..:dizzy: . I guess i posted that like I did just in case there were some others reading....;) It's spring break... and in the morning a friend and I are heading to the campground... no computer etc until I come home on Sunday... :jig: :cb:  I'm excited and ready to get away and relax... we'll get in plenty of exercise with hiking etc... til Sunday, Reba |
Hello Ladies. I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed reading this thread and will enjoy checking back into see your progress. Your motivation and dedication and the Bible verses are very inspiring.
I have recently ordered Scale Down that another member suggested. I hope to receive it shortly. Please keep posting as I am finding your posts so very helpful. The food diary's are extemely helpful to me as I think I might actually be able to follow it. Good luck to everyone. |
It's been a few days
Thought I should check in.
Have started up walking and have been doing not to bad - keeping a record of just how many steps/miles I have walked. Have found that I do 2000 steps for 1 mile. As of today March 23 - 18 miles walked this year. Long ways to go yet though - looking forward to the first 100 under my belt. Food plan is going ok - have been journaling it - will have to start putting it up here again - but I have been doing this for 3 days now - it does help. Have been keeping in my range which is good. Have been doing my Scripture reading and praying daily but have fallen behind on the Bible study - would like to do 2 days worth of it tomorrow - that is my goal anyway - will let you know if I succeed. Big thing for me right now is not to focus on what the scale says but to focus on keeping with the healthy food plan with proper portion sizes - and of course the exercise - am slowly increasing that every day by 500 steps - so eventually the scale will show a lose. Will be going grocery shopping on Saturday. On another site that I belong to (a good site that offers a lot of help with professional people - dietition and personal trainer) it was suggested that for 7 to 14 days to purchase prepared frozen meals for supper - such as lean cuisine. I was told that this should only be done on a short term basis - up to 14 days - so that I can get a better handle on what a proper portioned supper would look like. So I am planing to get these meals on Saturday - will be interested to see how the scale looks after 14 days of using them - all I have to add to them is a salad, and of course fruit. Anyway that is where I am at today - looking forward to a couple of good days and praying that the ugly scale will not be holding on to too much weight but will release some of it when I officially get weighed. Matthew 6;33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. |
Hello Ladies,
We got in this afternoon... just in time to unload and put stuff up.... get a shower etc and then head to church. We started revival today and I had nursery tonight... rocked and held a 2 month old and a 2 year old.... the two year old fell asleep in my lap.... we had a fantastic trip... lots of hiking in.... it was chilly we stayed in layers most of the time... and would take them off as we hiked... in all we got in 14 hours of hiking!!! Woohoo!!! we even got in a 4+ mile hike one day- our first one that long at once.... it was awesome- we saw 4 waterfalls, crocus in the middle of the woods, wild violets, red buds blooming, dogwoods blooming.... we had ducks and geese at our campsite, a squirrel almost ate from my hand this morning... we had a campfire every night and curled up under the electric blanket when we went to bed... it was in the low 30's at night... but we were snug as bugs in a rug... we actually slept 10 or so hours each night.... food wise... we did ok... not perfect on the exchanges, but not bad... we did have marshmellows and s'mores with the campfires.... I normally weigh on Sunday mornings at church and since I wasn't there this morning, I haven't weighed in.... Reba/AL |
Hey y'all,
It's been a while since I checked in.:dizzy::crazy: .. we had revival last week at church in addition to all the normal busyness...;) sprout- are you still following first place?:cheer: I miss your posts here. Reba |
Anyone doing 1st place?
Good morning! I'm just went to this forum and was wondering if anyone was still doing 1st place - the last link I read was from April 06. I have done 1st place in the past and am now just trying to eat healthier in general but not following any particular plan. Just wanted to come on board and join this group.:)

I'm still doing first place... I had just stopped posting here since it felt like I was the only one....
Reba |
Hi there Reba! I'm doing the 1st place devotional books in the morning with my coffee but am actually following the points system in the WW plan. I have done this most of my adult life and this just seems so natural. I was trying to just eat healthy in general but now am counting points once again cause I feel I am more in control that way. I am trying to eat healthy and not so many "white" carbs as before. How is your weight loss coming along?
