Good morning everybody
Marbear Welcome fellow Houstonian. :welcome2: This is a great group of people here. Congratulations on your 35 lbs lost.
Manvan Prayers for a buyer for your home. This must be a exciting (in a hectic way) time for you. I have never had to sell a house, yet....we are in our first house still, but I know that the day will eventually come. Wilma Don't you just love hanging out with old friends that you don't get to see that much? It is always nice to just enjoy each other's company and catch up on what's going on in each other's life. My best friend lives 3 hours away and even though we talk periodically on the phone, it is always fun to go visit her. Misti in Seattle (aka Dance4joy) Ok, initially you threw me off, but I know you - tee hee. I changed my avitar. Is that your daughter in your avitar? or you? I have a nice picture of me at home on the computer, but whenever I think about using it I am not at my home computer. It is a couple of years old, but I don't really like any recent pictures of me. But that will change soon....... Sapphireangel I am on week 3 of my jazzercise classes. I used to go through periods where I would walk 3 or 4 times a week, then I would get off track and not work out for several days. I am hoping that being involved in an established program with a bunch of other people helps. Everyone is so nice and encourages people to go at their own safe pace. I used to belong to gyms (Bally's, Northwest Fitness Center, YMCA, 24 hour, Power House Gym). I do better with a bunch of other people. The more encouragement the better. That is why I am not only a member of this forum, but TOPS and I might even join WW. I can't help it. I am no good doing this alone. I talk to God alot too. I am one of those people who needs alot of encouragement to workout. Gary Awesome. Not only did you get a nice walk in, but it was for the benefit of our fine furred friends. Thanks for the concern with the car problems. I am really pretty lucky in that aspect. Notice I got a new car. CRV. My dad who is retired and good with working on cars lives across the street. He helps my son out with my old car (he drives now). We want to see to it that all of our kids are knowledgable with cars to some degree. Marilyn, Hillary, Doitforme, Myfitnessjourney and everyone else Keep up the good work with exercise and diet (life changes I mean). With prayer and perseverance we can accomplish anything. He will see to it! Take care and God bless. |
Checkin in
Sorry guys I haven't been around much - but have started a good plan last week for my food / exercise and busy getting the house ready to sale - putting it on the market on April 10 so we are feeling the pressure to finish up what we need to get done.
Anyway my exercise is coming along well - 28 miles walked today - notice my ticker has been updated - possibly tomorrow it will be updated again! Think I might have to change it from 5 miles to 10 miles for every icon - have to see Anyway supper is ready have to run |

Nothing like delving into God's word Sprout- Congrats! Wow- I am impressed, so many miles!! Prayers all going well w/ house and van E.Z.- Thanks! I think the left behind series was imaginative- I think it got taken a little far and is a little extreme and overworked. But I have really enjoyed His prophecy bible if you get a chance check it out. I also have enjoyed Revelations unveiled as he walks you through revelations. But I am happy studyingand reading the word. You were right , IS YOUR HEAD SWELLING?:D The living way- I just call the living bible, I did my devotions, daily bread read the bible in a year, in that bible last year using prophecy bible this year, use King James bible at church, and various study bibles, Scoffield refference, new American standard. Ect. I also have an NIV Women's devotional, used that the year before last for devotions. You have been a busy energetic dude lately huge house, be careful you don't get lost. Sorry guess you and angie will have to come and help watch her on the cruise, guarenteed a great time. Marbear- I am glad you decided to join us, welcome- I think we are always at risk of committing a bad witness- especially if we lose our temper in public ect. But its not ment to be hid under a bushel so shine! And Let Jesus Shine with you! I also agree ditto God always has the right timetable. Misti- Aka Dance- Nic Pic! You'll be cruisin soon! AUNT SUE~~
SPRING ~ FORWARD ~ !!!!!!!!!!;) off to work............ |
I wish we could get an extra hour's sleep. Have to wait for fall for that!!
I've had a busy week. Usually I am home in the evenings but this week I've been going out a bit with friends. It's been fun! Last night a couple of us went out to an Asian bistro called. "Hu's on First". It overlooks the ball park. Amazing food!! Tonight I'm going to a Pampered Chef party. They sell kitchen gadgets. I don't know what I'll buy but am going because a new friend invited me. Tomorrow evening DH and I are going to a hockey game with friends. I'm going to need a nap on Saturday!:D Sue: It sounds like you're very busy also. Glad to hear things are going well. Sprout: I'll be praying for your house sale and that you find something to move into! Marbear: I know exactly what you're talking about when it comes to exercising. I'm still struggling with it. do you have a friend you can go walking with? Committing to a time and place is always good incentive. Beth: You're right! I see this friend about twice a year so we usually have a lot to catch up on. She has always been there for me and I do appreciate her very much. Nancy: I hope all goes well with your new house. I still love looking at houses even though we won't be moving anywhere for a long time. Dh says we're not moving until we're too old to get up the stairs. Gary: You must be really busy these days. I miss your posts! Have a great day! |
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted but I was traveling then DH had surgery yesterday (got his tonsils taken out). So I finally had a spare moment... My recent trip to St. Louis went great. I fell in love with the law school and think it's a really good prospect but I am going to visit Duke (coming up Monday) before I make the final decision. Please keep me in your prayers - this is one of the biggest decisions I've had to make in a LONG time! After my trip to St. Louis, I stopped in Tennessee to visit DH (who was traveling there separately) and some old friends. I hadn't been back since our wedding so it was great to visit some of our old date spots. And DH is doing great! He got through his surgery like a trooper, and in fact it was ME who nearly passed out in the recovery room  :yikes: It was all those post-op instructions and talk of blood that did me in. Oh well...good thing I'm not going to med school. We're going to have a quiet weekend together. I get to make him lots of ice cream, pudding and Jello! And then I'm off to Duke. No time for individual posts today...dinner's on :hungry: but I just wanted to let you all know that I'm thinking about you! |
Thursday
HI GALS~
Sorry I haven't been around much. I have been posting a little bit under General Chatter on the American Idol thread and have started one on marraige proposals. I have been so busy at work, plus a long "time" drive home with traffic. By the time I clean up what the dogs chewed up and make dinner (if it is my night) I don't have much time to post. Tonight I was going to make turkey polska kielbasa with rice and peas, but a buddy came by to show me his new truck and talk about his "failing" marraige. I ordered :jeno: since Angie went to dinner with her daughter and a friend before my step-d's play, son was at his track team practice, daughter was with her mom getting pictures for church directory (the rest of us tomorrow) and nephew at tennis match. Pizza is easy to re-heat. Well, the new company I am with got the job for the 28,000 square foot home to do the plaster and drywall on ~ the selling point was the quality of work my brother and I are doing on another $$$$ home. I just can't imagine working on a house that big, the biggest one I ever worked on was around 15,000 square feet, when I was still in business. WILMA~LOVE the name of the Asian bistro!!!! Pampered Chef is a good product, I like the pizza stones Angie has the best (although we don't use them much anymore ~ but when we did pizza was awesome!). If I went to the hockey game with you guys I would just go ahead annd take my nap then;) ...kidding! We a have a minor league team here, San Diego Gulls that we go see from time to time! CHRISTINA~ So glad to see you enjoying all the schools. My daughter was rejected by the USC doctorate program ~ accepted by the Masters program ~ they had told her she would probably need to go through the Masters first though so she wasn't too bummed out. She just got an acceptence from San Diego State on the Masters program today, by going there she would be able to keep her job and her work would pay for a large part of it...still waiting on another couple of schools. Step-d rejected by Boston College but accepted by Wagner this week, she applied to a bunch of schools though. Give the DH of yours some Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia!! on me ;) His surgery reminds me of when we were little kids. My brothers needed their tonsils out, went in together at the ages of 5 and 3, my oldest (younger) brother got his out, my youngest brother did too ~BUT~ was also circumsized! which he didn't know about before hand...he was awful confused why his "pee-pee" hurt too! Poor kid! MARILYN~Did you just pass by? AUNT SUE~MY head hurts! It is sooo big !!!;) I need to come to your bible study ~ I am really failing at that recently!! I have 3 devotionals TOTALLY un-opened for the Lent season!! Angie and I went to church Wednesday night but just had dinner and came home since she had things to do, I had no reason not to stay!! Just tired. Angie read about 5 of the Left Behind series before she "tired" of it. I know that as christians we disagree from time to time on our theology ~~ I think that that is good sometimes because it keeps us searching for the "truth" not only in Jesus but in the things that really don't matter also! Happy crusin' ;) [B]MARBEAR~[/B welcome3: BETH~Can your dad move across the street from me? ;) NANCY~Come on dear! If you can watch golf (which I do too!) you certainly can watch MARCH MADNESS when UCLA is playing ;) Saturday afternoon!!! :rain: in SEATTLE~ Who the heck are you? ;) gotta go..................... |
Hi there!
E.Z.- oops! :dizzy: Boy I was tired! I guess I was dwelling on the idea of sleep! Maybe I was dreaming how to get that extra hour of sleep. But once again Your right- spring ahead and fall back. I agree with you on the differences on theology as none of us have all the answers. But as long as we agree that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. We are good to go. The rest is really not a big deal. I try to study so I grow and become more knowledgeable about The Word. Being able to share with others becomes easier when you get more comfortable with His Word. I agree whole heartedly I love to discuss all defferent ideas of theology, even the ones I don't agree with, and its amazing what discussions can bring out things you never thought of. I don't leave till the end of April gotta while yet, still time for you and angie to make your reservations.:carrot:
Wilma- I went to a pampered chef party tonight- I got a set of summer plates, that hold the cup for my camper. It won't be long and we'll be working at opening it back up, another month and a half or so. Christina- glad dh came thru his surgery prayers for his healing and your continued guidance in selecting the right school. Time to run, gotta catch up on my own bible study a couple days behind, will do that in the morning before work. See ya 70's here tom. May sit on the porch and read, that will be nice. suppose to rain sat. but working double shift so thats o.k. see ya all later. |
A poem to share!
He is Risen
He was crucified and buried, but today the whole world knows. The resurrection story of how Jesus Christ arose. Some may question it and doubt it, but they can't explain or say. Why after countless centuries, men still follow Christ today. And they miss the peace and comfort that the Easter story brings. The promise of eternal life and hope of better things. For just to know the Savior died to redeem and save all men, And that because He gave His life, We, too, shall live again. Makes all this world's uncertainties, it's burdens, care and strife. Seem meaningless when they're compared to God's eternal life. And Easter, as it comes this year, to awake the sleeping earth. Assures mankind that Jesus Christ has promised us rebirth. -Helen Steiner Rice- |
