Mel, I will be keeping Michelle in my prayers.

MARILYN and MEL,

Prayers for both of your friends and their families.

Gary

beth1167 01-12-2006 10:03 AM

Good Morning

I'm feeling much better today.

CRK05 Keep up the good work with the applications. Everything will pay off in the end. Good luck with the presentation on Feb. 1.
Margie Great job on the walking. Almost 20 miles. That is awesome. Beautiful daughter.
Jackie Handsome boys. How did you manage to post such big pictures? I had the hardest time. Mine ended up being the size of a postage stamp.
Blondee I've been working lately on decluttering my home too. I pick up, throw away, store, give away........and then my family starts the whole cluttering cycle all over again.
Sparrow Prayer for you to get your meals planned out and awesome job when you do. I know (having 4 kids myself) how hard it can be planning around 6 people and getting just the right amount down. I have been working on preparing meals that not only satisfy everyones taste, but to manage not to have any leftovers. Leftovers 90% of the time, just take up space in the refrigerator only to get dumped anyway. My family is not very big on left overs. Picky picky.
Diane No problem, I have to check back at old post all the time just to remember everyones name. I get confused on screen names and real names. Hopefully I have been accurate.
Marilyn Prayers for you friend Len that he seeks more medical attention and prayers for the doctors to find out what happened. Must be scary, especially for his family. It is good that they have you and your family as friends.
Mel Prayers for your friend Michelle. May God grant her and her family strength and courage to face what lies ahead of them and give you special strength to continue being the good friend that you have been and to your family for being supportive.
Hillary and ..... we love you too!

I emailed Michele and she emailed me back. She has been busy and got sidetracked. She says she misses us too and shall return soon.

Everyone else - Take care. Will write more later.

Update on our friend

Quick note - Len is going to be seeing his doctor in about 15 minutes. He has a sore neck, terrible headache (all understandable) but is having a difficult time staying away. Pat (his wife) has had to wake him ever 2 hours for the last 48 hours so he is tired I am sure but by now he should be wanting to stay away but rather he just keeps dozing off - don't like the sound of it but it is all in the Lord's hands. They are going to call when they get home will will update later. Thanks for praying for this dear man

crk05 01-12-2006 05:09 PM

Marilyn - Len will definitely be in my prayers.

HI GALS:wave:

We seem to be picking up a bit here. Sure wish some of the :spin: "old" :spin: gals would come back too!

LISA~:welcome:

CHARISTINA~ I hope those darn applications are finally getting finished for you! All that work you put in will pay off.

MARILYN~ I am glad your friend seems to be doing better. That must have been quite a scare for you guys.

MARGIE~ Thanks for the USC support! I have to hit a liquor store before church on Sunday so I can pay my debt off to my friend the BEARS fan! Darn RAIDERS!! Good luck this week-end. Glad to see you are still out there moving forward on your walks. No wonder Fred was so    if you look anything like your daughter! What a cutie!;)

JACKAY~I'm with BETH~~ how do you get the pictures so big? My wife tries with photo bucket and it always says file too large when she trys to post unless they are thumbnail size. Glad to have you back, the boys are still as cute as ever.

MEL~ Continued prayers for your friend.

BREN~ Are you clutter free? What book did you pick up at the library?

SEASIDE SPARROW~ Nice looking family! Not sure where you are in Washington. I have friends in Sequim. My wife and I built a second home out in the desert last year in Kennewick, after living in it this summer we decided to wait a few more years before we leave California so we sold it.

HILARY~:coach: :wl: :coach: Get movin'!

WILMA~I keep checking the sports page for the curling scores....am I in the wrong section? I'll try the glamour pages ;)

My son just purchased 2 used seats from DODGER STADIUM, they are replacing all the seats this year...a little history in his bedroom now. How about that MICHELE.

LORI~Kids are in school, how long does it take to recover dear?

Well I think I am caught up for now, need to get dinner going. Easy tonight...pasta with the leftover sauce (Rachael Ray's) from Christmas, garlic bread and salad :hungry:

Prayers for all your concerns, Gary

crk05 01-12-2006 06:18 PM

Gary and Beth, the law school apps are SO finished!!! :cheer: Thanks for thinking of me. Yesterday I sent off the last one and some addenda that I had forgotten to include in some of the other apps. YAY!!! Now I just have to await decisions from the schools. I have been trying to theorize about how long it will take, and I can only guess anywhere between Feb 1 and May 1. Yeah, my law school theorizing is not as accurate as my scientific research  We'll just wait and see and hopefully God will let me practice my patience without going too bezerk with anxiety!

mom2fivesweeties 01-12-2006 07:38 PM

HEY EVERYONE!!

:welcome: To all the new people! I'm sorry I'm not individually welcoming you, but there are so many people on here, I'm just overwhelmed!

To all of you who have asked for prayer, know that I pray for everyone on here daily and the special prayers are going up!

My doctor's office hasn't called me back as of yet. My liver ultrasound was last week and also bloodwork for possible Hep A, B or C - sigh - my liver enzymes were not good on one of my hospital tests. I'm feeling better, just SO TIRED! I log onto here and just get tired looking at all the posts!! ;) Hopefully they'll figure something out soon! My ENT appt. is Feb. 3.

Went to LAWL today for the first time since the first of December. I was down another 2 pounds! I couldn't believe it! I really didn't follow program during the holidays, but lost nonetheless - thank-you God!! \O/

Could you all say a prayer for my oldest, Michael? He is so sensitive and he and Bailey (his gf) are having problems. He was so upset last night he actually cried and wanted to start smoking again. He has quit since the weekend Dan died and that's been since the 21st of Nov. I know we all go through relationship problems at one point in our life or another, but at 19 1/2 everything is SO serious! I remember even though I'm 50 now!

Well, I'm going to park it on the couch again - take care everyone and God Bless!

Figgykitty 01-12-2006 08:13 PM

Sprout, I will be praying for Len. God has His powerful hands around him and will take care of him.
Mom2-5 I will be praying for you also with your liver stuff. My pastor had HepC and went through Interferon treatment and he is doing so well now. There is a silver linning, always...You can take time right now to site and read God's word and watch all the TV you want. I was bed bound for a few months once and thought that it would be wonderful but found that TV didn't really seem that exciting anymore. Keep the faith!!
My friendd Michelle is doing better emotionally today. Her tests went well yesterday and they found all kinds of things taht could be causing her problem from stomach cancer to diverticulitis and more. The doc took tons of biopsies and will know what's up in a week or so. It's all scary but resting in God's hands can give so much comfort. Thanks so much for praying for her family. I told her today that you all were praying for her and she was touched. I'll keep you posted.
I'm off to start dinner now. We're having "Pastie Pie". It's a meat and potato pie and is yummy. I'm using chicken instead of beef and I'm using more veggies than potatoes. It's going to be wonderful as I am so hungry right now. I am going to wait though...it's so hard!
have a wonderful Friday all.
Mel

EZMONEY 01-12-2006 10:38 PM

LORI~ So you are "TIRED" of looking at my posts huh? Angie can relate, just the other day she said she was tired of looking at me!;)

wilma12 01-12-2006 11:07 PM

Hello!

Well, the week is going by very quickly. I have finished doing 2 performance reviews and they both went well. They were with really good employees so that makes a difference. Only 7 more to go!!

Youngest DS finally heard from his doc that his respiratory results are in. Now to get him to go to the doc to find out what's going on with him and what steps we need to take.

I also went to my doc for my yearly today. My bad eating habits of late have caught up with me. I am not supposed to have salty things but have been indulging quite a bit lately. My BP was up today and she's not happy with me. Now I have to behave myself again. Thank goodness I haven't gained any weight back. I go again to have it checked in a month or so. Hopefully I will have got back in control of it.

Gary: HA HA!!

Sprout: I'll be praying for Len. What a scary thing to happen.

Mel: I'll be praying for Michelle. Great job on the 3 lbs. gone forever.

Beth: My prayers for Michael. It's hard going through that at any age. My son went through a break up last spring and it was really hard on him too. I always pray that the hardships will make them stronger.

i really wanted to take the time to address each one of you and especially welcome all the newcomers. I am just really tired and will soon not make any sense. I'll try to come back this weekend some time.

Have a good night!

Blondee51 01-13-2006 01:04 AM

ME too!
TIRED! I was so ragged on my off days the de-cluttering went un-done...so I have to climb over stuff to get to my clothes closet! I'll deal with it tho. I'd had a little relapse with the cold thing and it just knocked me around a bit. I woke up tonight at 11:00...so figured I'd do this and maybe write checks for my bills and go back to bed!
Gary...I picked up a Rick Mofina, Mary Jane Clark and John Sanford this week. Last week it was Grishham and someone else. Angela Lansbury was the one I found buried! I love Robert Parker, Janet Evaovitch etc. A little humor with the mystery livens things up. Some have a propensity for foul language so I "ignore" or mentally change those words! LOL! I've tried to convince my brother he can say everything that needs to be said without those words too,...he doesn't "get it".

Prayers for special requests going up........for Len and Michelle, Michael. God knows each name and need and is in the midst of us. My heart goes out to you.....Marilyn, Lori, Mel....as loved ones are in pain. I pray for speedy recovery, healing and God's comfort in this time of turmoil.

Hilary! I have a bottle of coloring in there...just getting me to use it is the problem. I don't wanna scare myself at my tender age! I pray most days for God's help with my hair......it can be frustrating!

Well, I think I'll go back to bed. Maybe take a benedryl and knock myself out so I can rest. I'll see ya'll lovely folks tomorrow......send out an SOS to the "old" folks Gary! You be our Lighthouse and beam 'em in!
Night night all...and God's blessings to each of you.
Bren

EZMONEY 01-14-2006 01:21 PM

Saturday Morning

HI GALS:wave:

I hope this finds everyone having a great start to the week-end. I just finished searching the internet for a great northern bean recipe, didn't find one I liked so I will stick with my "old favorite" from the Pillsbury Cookbook. I have a bag of beans taking up space in the pantry ~~ looks like rain here so I figured it would be something good to get in the crock-pot or big pot for tomorrows lunch/dinner.

Angie and I are going to the bi-monthly gathering of the Norwegian Fish club with my ex-wife and her significant other, our son and his girlfriend, three of our son's buddies, my brother and his wife and another friend of ours, tonight. The menu :hungry: is pan fried fish with onions, oven roasted potatoes with vegetables, bread, norwegian beer and other beverages. Of course there is always the SHOW...about ten of the men and women dress up in Viking gear, sit between all of us and interact with each other as if they were on a viking ship. It is always pretty cool and funny. It is also a way for Norwegians (which I am not) to learn of their history.

Angie went on her 3 mile run this morning but didn't take the dogs, boy were they ever mad:mad:! She wanted to see how she could do without them for a change, she is off at bell choir practice now. Later this morning she is going to volunteer in the sign up booth, at the expo for the San Diego marathon, that is tomorrow. Gives me time to watch some football without having to look over my shoulder at her "IS THAT ALL YOU DO? WATCH SPORTS ON TV?!" face ;) That face just flat gives me the creeps:fr:

Had :jeno: pizza last night from Papa Murphy's, where you take it home and bake it. It is a lot cheaper than our usual take-out pizza place, not as good, but not bad either. Besides, my daughter's :barf: :barf: boyfriend:barf: :barf: was over for dinner and I :nono: NEVER:nono: feed him the good stuff! If I did he would be over here all the time and we just can't  have that now can we? ;)

AUNT SUE~I hope you are feeling better by now. I am sending as much :sunny: as I can afford, but with the new rate hike on postage it is getting quite expensive ;) But then nothing is too good for my 3FC gals! Our church is fairly good size but not huge by any means. I think :dunno: our usual average attendence is around 350 for a saturday night and 2 sunday morning services. Actually, as disappointed as I was about the USC~Texas game, I didn't complain much, we had plenty of chances to win but didn't take care of business, we had the win in our grasp and Texas just took it away! Always next year!! Looking forward to it , but quite a few of the best players are leaving for the pros...going to be interesting next year for sure. How was the basketball game?:cheer:

BREN~ Sounds like you picked up some good books, Angie just finished reading Teacher Man by Frank McCourt and has started Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. I pretty much read the newspaper, my Guideposts, Sports Illustrated and a few articles in Readers Digest each month. I read all the time, but I can't begin to remember the last time I read a BOOK! Pretty much magazine articles for me, just the time it takes me to take care of business;) How is the clutter? Is it "going" or staying

WILMA~ Sorry to hear your BP was up. everytime mine has been checked I have been told it is excellent, however, the last 2 times I went to give blood they said it was up a little. I am my yearly physical soon so I will be seeing my doctor. Glad to hear the results for your boy finally came in, now maybe he can get on a plan to go forward!

LORI~Great work on the loss. Glad to see you back at LAWL. I hope the docs figure out your "tired" problem soon! Prayers. Prayers for Michael, really encourage him to stay off the :smoking: We know all about "relationships" around here with our pasts and the kids! Always something going on. I hope it all works out well for him soon, being in love just ain't easy sometimes is it?

CHRISTINA~ Great picture, what a cutie you are;)

HILARY~ When you start "not remembering why you didn't go" to the gym ~~ well, it's a GREAT TIME TO GET YOUR BUTT THERE!! :coach: I just read your post that you did while I was posting and went back to edit~~ I got my eye on you!;)

Well, caught up again...have a great week-end ladies.

Prayers for all your concerns, Gary
