Lori: Wow! That sounds so good. I would love a night away with my DH. Enjoy it. You deserve it. Thanks for posting a picture of you and your family. It's nice to see who we're talking to.
Gary: Thanks for the dinner idea. I'm going to try it. Yesterday I put a roast in the slow cooker and then just had to cook potatoes and veggies when i got home. Really nice. Not much happening here. Just work and then home to either relax or work on the quilt. I have it almost pieced together and soon will be ready for the stitching which is my favorite part. I love to do it in the winter. We are joining our church membership this coming Sunday. We will be giving our testimonies that morning. We would like to ask for prayer for that because we're not really public speakers and would like to share what God wants us to. The people in our church are very friendly but there's just a fear of being up in front of everyone. Thanks! Have a great day! |
Hi Wilma!
Thanks! We will enjoy it! Mom wants us to wait and use it after I lose more weight like in the spring, but we are going to use it during the holidays! Downtown is decorated and lit up so beautifully and I'm sure the hotel will be too! :carrot: I will pray for your testimonies on Sunday. I used to be petrified of speaking in front of people but when Mike was in 5th grade, 9 years ago, I taught at a Christian school for his tuition. We traveled to another school for a speech contest and I was one of the judges. I had to pray in front of a huge assembly and speak after all the contestants were finished - that pretty much cured me - I knew they were all Christians and wouldn't judge me - I prayed for peace, and surely our Lord gave it to me - you will do His will wonderfully! Hi Everyone! |
Hi all
Still have the flu.... just not feeling good. But I have a prayer request for you all please. My mom's good friend Denise just found out that she has Ovarian Cancer and it's all happening so quickly. Not sure of the treatment options and all that, but she's very scared. Mom asked if i could have my "Praying Group" pray for her. So plese send healing prayers this way for Denise and prayers for her family. There are many other family problems, but really needing prayers for her health. Thanks guys! Big hugs, i'm going to go lay down now... |
hi everyone!
I have had a crazy couple of weeks and have not had time to post here. I have been reading everyone though when I get the chance. :carrot: lots going on for sure.
I am doing a "regroup" week, trying to get focused on what I am eating and trying to honor the Lord with everything going in my mouth. :hungry: so far so good, I just am trying to get control ( or actually let the Lord have the control) and not let the food "control" me! :mcd: Sounds like a lot of you have had a bad time with germs :headache: :tired: :barf: Hope you all are feeling better really soon. I don't have too much time today as I am at work, but just wanted to get on and say a quick hello  I hope to have time to read everyone's posts and catch up and do some more posting my self. Later everyone Sherie |
Hi Michele,
Will definitely be praying for Denise - only the Lord can give her peace during this time. I'll pray you get to feeling better too! Hi Sherie! Hello to all you other chickies and roosters out there! |
Hi all,
coming back out of hibernation.... :dizzy: Been so busy.... Richard ran a 50k on Saturday.....he did 31-2/3 miles in 6:44 and I did 120 miles in 6 hours. I'm not fast by any means....I had the privilege of driving him to and from Huntsville State Park where the trail run was being held. I have to admit, it will take me a couple of weeks to catch up on all the happening here....so bear with me. Welcome to all the new people.... Hey Gary, Congrats to USC.....But if you have to choose a team to root for, why not our Astros....? :^: Things might look a little lopsided now, but they've faced worse before and come out ok.... GO 'STROS!!!!! :carrot: :carrot: Lori, Sorry about the Cardinals....but we'd love to have to rooting for us, at least you know we have a good team. Well, got to run....DH is picking me up from work....silly me left the light on in my car :o and had a dead battery today...ho hum :( Have a great evening - - - - - GO ASTROS!!!!! :cb: :cp:  :cheer: |
Good Morning!
I'm new to 3FC, and have been trying to find my niche. I hope it's ok that I'm just jumping in here. I've been doing WW Online for almost 3 years, and had lost 52 of my 70 pound goal, but have gained back 11 pounds since last Christmas. I'm determined to get back on track and get healthy! I live in SoCal with my 2 poodles. I am 55, divorced after 22 years of marriage (long story), and have no children. I work for a public agency doing accounting, budgets and grants, and am active in my church, sing in the choir, and currently am busy with obedience classes with my 6 month old MiniPoo, Razzle. My other darling kid is a 6 year old Standard Poodle named Ruby. I'm sure you'll hear more about my kids as we go on. Anyway, I hope to get to know you all as we support, encourage, and pray for each other along the way. Oh, and I'm just curious, how often do you begin a new thread? |
It's Been A Long Time
Hello Everyone...
Where have I been? Here and there. Work changed and is changing again. Stress with a co-worker...oh well. Gaining weight back, DH is ok, went to the hormone dr and we have a plan worked out, did a tiny craft show and will do a big one in Dec. How is everyone? Good grief...there are many new names. Sunny...how are you sweet one? How is your health? Everyone has such lovely siggys...you are tooo kind. Did you ever keep up with that list of those who are on this forum? I'd love to have it so I can update myself. Gary...pooches? Nikki is our love and she's just an angel. My Gary went deer hunting for 10 days down in AR and came back empty handed. I stayed home and took some days off work to get things organized in the house and prepare for that craft show. How's living in the north...assuming you moved already. The fam? Michele...I know how you are...hopefully still not sick and if you are...get back to bed! My daughter Jenny (28) is back home with me until her wedding in June of 2006. I do own a treadmill now and I enjoy being on it...still does not mean I eat what I supposed to. I'm up about 13 pounds of the 20 that I lost. :ink:  :sp: :stress: :faint: :sorry: How's that for emotions. :dizzy: Well, since I'm at work and "should" be working, I will tend to those resposibilities. Hugs... |
So happy to see you back MKay!!! :carrot: And ya, i'm still feeling icky...
:welcome3: Jill!! Yes, please, any of you can jump right in, we love new people and we all need eachother. I hope this is the support you are looking for. I say woohoo to you for not giving up and jumping back on the WW bandwagon. I'm gonna jump on with you too. I finally weighed myself yesterday and i guess i was a tad surprised, i was sure i was at my starting weight but i'm still down 11-12 lbs., but as soon as my appetite gets normal after this flu i'm going to get serious again about LAWL. Prayers for all!! |
Hi All ! ! ! ! !
Well it's been a week since my last post and it didn't really take very long to get all caught up. Hope everyone is out exercising, eating right :carrot: and enjoying the fall weather :) ! !
mom2five - really like your family photo, looks like your Mom & Dad are doing well in spite of their age! Mine are 72 (Mom) & 75 (Dad) and still get around real good for which I am VERY thankful. Congrats on your big 'win' and also your big 'loss' with LAWL. (the loss of course being the weight!!! you LOSER!) How much loss do you have now? In what, about a month or so?? Keep it up girl. . . your trip over the holidays should be very nice, everything all decorated, how long a drive will it take? You cracked me up when you described your bobbing for apples, - I haven't done that in years and probably would drown!!! mitchypoo - how did the coffee date go? :cofdate: And the job hunting. . . probably at a standstill with the flu. . . get well soon okay? Prayers for Denise & family. wilma12 - sounds like the quilt is coming along quite nicely. Is this part of C'mas for your DIL? Good to hear you're joining the local church, :D so good to be a part of the church community, prayers for your 'speech'. EZ - guess you're happy today "SOX" !!!!! :carrot: The tortilla recipe sounds yummy, bet my DD will love it so I'll have to try it soon. Guess I'll need the pozole receipe too, that sounds good. DD loves ALL mexican foods. Enjoy Okoberfest! klemmie - sounds like you've got a good weight loss/eating plan - it's so had to discipline yourself, but no time like the present! klynntx - way to go DH! Surely you didn't mean that you had walked 120 miles in six hours???? :yikes: A typo I hope, otherwise I want to see proof, maybe a tape or sworn statement? :dizzy: ;) :dizzy: Sorry about your Astros but hey, EZ's happy! PooMom - WELCOME, we have a good little niche here. WTG with your WW ya just gotta get back on track. We have one toy poodle, Fifi, she's about 4 now and one fuzzy cat, Quizzie. Wondering about your obedience class, is this for you or Poo? :drill: Sometimes I wonder who is leading who??? :?: I know our animals 'think' they own the house! ;) HELLO MKAY - glad to see you back. Come back and let us know what's going on with all the changes. Glad to hear DH is well and I do understand about the exercise but still not eating right - :workout: :bike: :tread: boy did you step on my feet there!!!! PennyMac - I agree - :coach: :cheer: GO BUCS !!!! :cheer: :dancer: :cheer: :cheer: All for now, my boss just came back in so I guess I had better get back at it. Hope everyone is doing well, come back MIA's, where's SUNNYD? Anyone seen her or is she still off running around with Joe??? - Margie |
Happy Noon
Well, 2 posts in a row...I'm good.
Wilma...hormone stuff...I did the saliva, urine, blood testing and they are putting me on a low dose progestrone for 12 days out of the month. Then, he's encouraging me to start a good multi-vitamin and to exercise more etc. and to do the Zone Diet...it's not one that drops you off the sugar immediately. Changes at work...our director retired, a new secretary who came aboard not in the exact "union" way, she blames me for things I never said and now more new people to fill positions we had open. Michele...Gosh, I think this "bug" is going to take its toll. Be thankful it didn't happen as you were starting a new job. That certainly wouldn't look good. Ok...I'm sick and tired of screwing up and eating junk when I KNOW I'm not supposed to do that to my body. I'd like to challenge us to praise & pray without ceasing for each and every one of us and for all of the blessings poured out on us and for the turmoil we must deal with every day thanking God for whatever circumstance we are in and that we know HE is taking care of it. Amen! Tonight is fat class and I don't feel positive for any weight loss. I really would like to skip it and go get my Zone Diet book and start reading and planning my days ahead. Hugs All! I'm editing this to say that I just went back to some prior posts and I really felt loved and wanted with all of the b-day wishes. This is such a nice place to come and play. Thank you all. Michele...what a good voice you have. :D Thanks again everyone. Hey Johnathan, I'm in MI as well. Grand Rapids Now I forget...who got snow already. I DO NOT want the snow. Hugs again! |
Hi all
Feeling better today, finally. Margie, you asked about the coffee date. It went OK. No heart palpitations. We had coffee, sat and talked for about 1.5 hours, and he said he'd like to see me again. I said ok, but didn't see us dating. I haven't heard from him since, so whatever. Well, i did hear from him once, he was online and said he was happy to meet and he wanted to see me again, but nothing else from there. Have to get busy today. Lot's to do. Will check back later. |
Thanks for the welcome! :thanks: It will take me awhile to get to know you all, and there’s so much history to catch up on, so I’m going to start fresh with today and take it one day at a time.
I work full-time, but am blessed to be allowed to telecommute in the afternoons, so it’s 7-noon in the office, and 1-5 from home. I love it and it allows me to be home with the puppy, rather than having him crated all day. He’s a long way from being trustworthy in the house. This evening is choir rehearsal and a meeting prior. Our church choir director is retiring and I’m on the search committee to find her replacement. Tonight is our kick-off meeting. Mary Kay, what kind of crafts do you do? I’ve always loved doing things with my hands, but I’m not terribly artistic. If I can see someone else’s project, I’m pretty good at copying though. Sorry to hear about your work stresses. I hope all the difficult situations are resolved for you soon. Michelle, hope you’re feeling 100% really soon. I see on your bio that you do spinning. Is that like making yarn? Just curious. I have read about companies that will take animal fur and create yarn with it (I think they mix it with something more "traditional"). When I had all Razzle’s puppy fur cut off recently, I have to admit I saved it in case I wanted to use it for something. Sick, huh? Margie, I think the Toy Poodles think they’re bigger than the big ones! The obedience class is for Razzie, but I’m the one who makes all the mistakes. Last night I told the assistant that I was afraid we were going to fail Beginner I, and he told me there was no failing, just the opportunity to repeat the class. :dizzy: When Razzle was 13 weeks old, his back leg was broken (my Standard Poodle stepped on him)... anyway, he was confined for 6 weeks, carried everywhere, and totally over-indulged. Man oh man, do we ever have behavior issues now! :tantrum: Well, I’d better get back to work. See you later... |
Hi Everyone!
Went to LAWL today and was down another pound. They measure you every month and I hadn't been measured since September 21 when I joined. I couldn't believe it, but I've lost 9 inches!! I was VERY excited! Most of it from my waist and hips! :carrot: POOMOM: :welcome3: I love this little group and I know you will too! I am 50 years old and been married for 28 years. We have five kids ranging in ages from 19 down to 7! :o The youngest 4 are adopted. We also have an assortment of animals of which our 3 dogs are my babies! So I HEAR YA on the doggie thing! ;) MICHELE: SO GLAD you are feeling better! The flu is nothing to mess with - keep resting when you can! MKAY: I agree with you about praying for each other - I know I couldn't lose 145 pounds without His help, that's for sure. MARGIE: Thanks for the congrats! I've lost around 16 pounds I think - it's the inches I was shocked about! That really excited me! That WAS funny about the bobbing for apples! I've been swimming since I was 3 years old and have never been afraid in water, but I sure felt like I was drowning! KLYNNTX: I sure was rooting for your Stros after my Redbirds lost! I guess it wasn't our year, huh?? :?: Hello to Everyone else! Hope you all are doing well on this fine Thursday afternoon~ :tread: :cheer: :ebike: :dancer:  |
Lori, I saw pics of Frosty and Taz on the pet thread on General Chatter. They are very cute! Did you see the pics of my two there?
|
Hi Jill,
Yes, I am a spinner, as in, making yarn! What kind of dog fur do you have? I have spun dog fur before. Cat fur works well too and looks like Angora. I don't have all the time to spin anymore and i'm really into knitting right now. But i love spinning. And I have a bag of alpaca fur waiting for me to spin up too. Too much fur, so little time... Hi Lori, thanks, ya, i'm better today. Except my tummy is still having problems. Thank you for the prayers for Denise and please, continue. She is in bad shape, they think there are multiple masses, she's having a hysterectomy next Tuesday and they are keeping her in the hospital for 2 weeks of heavy duty chemo. She has a long road to haul. |
Michelle, I have a Standard Poodle and a Miniature Poodle. The Mini puppy just had his very lush, thick puppy fur shaved off... that's what I saved. You've probably already seen this site, but in case you haven't it has some interesting info on spinning dog hair. http://www.vipfibers.com/
I will be praying for Denise in the days ahead. The Lord knows who she is, but I'm just curious.... is Denise a relative or friend of yours, someone on the board, or ??? |

Hi Poo Mom!!
Yes, I saw Ruby and Razzle - they are doll babies! I have a friend who has a standard poodle named Lady - she is the sweetest, most docile dog I've ever seen! Thanks for the compliment on Frosty and Taz - I need to post a pic of Lady too - she is a little bit persnickety - the top dog! |
Hi Jill,
Denise is a friend of the family. I knew her from a group i went to, and now my mom is going there and has known her for about 5 years. Thank you all for the prayers. |
Gary, you were only about 10 minutes from where I live. What do you do?
Lori, can't wait to see that pic of Lady. Michelle, thanks for letting me know about Denise. Yippee! I'm off work today. :carrot: I'm headed out to have a late breakfast with an old friend and then run some errands. It looks very dreary out, like it just might rain some.:rain: That's ok, I love the rain. I bought some pumpkin spice CoffeeMate the other day, and have been waiting for just the right time to try it. A rainy afternoon might be just the ticket! Hope you're all having a great day! |
Hi there!

Friday Night
HI GALS
Taking a few minutes to check in, Angie and I just got home from dinner and I am waiting for my food to digest...WHY DO I EAT TOO MUCH!? :dunno: We went to a local pub for hamburgers and beers. Kids are all at Halloween parties and nephew with his mom tonight. I'm gonna be :carrot:  :carrot: nice to my wife a little later ;) Well, for those that asked~~ we never made it to the Oktoberfest last Sunday~~ by the time we finished up working on my ex's place..in BONSALL, POOMOM it was later than I wanted so we just stopped by In~N~OUT Burgers and came home. I did see the "judge" of the home brews at the Oktoberfest at the pub tonight and he said he had a ton left over in his fridge and will be bringing it to the Monday Night football game in a few weeks. POOMOM~ Guess I was close to you last week. I do drywall work as a trade but my brother and I were off of Whitewood putting in new doors for a friend from our church in Vista, we have done numerous projects on his house. My wife and I have a couple of Golden Retrievers, Reba and Rylee, both almost 2 years old...there are a few pics in the past posts of them, I will try to get some more up~~~had to stop...I was BORING ;) the regulars with them for awhile! Could still get that rain :rain: soon....enjoy the pumpkin spice. AUNT SUE~ I live about 45 minutes from Poomom, I was working about 10 minutes from her place awhile back...HOWEVER! You may "fly" in for dinner anytime ;) Well, have fun making projects for the Christmas show, guess it's the same old thing same as last year, huh? Baby Jesus, a few donkeys and a wise guy (ME) er...wise men! Thank GOD that I am forgiven for my sins!! Give our neices a hug! MICHELE~ Prayers for Denise, my sister's name. How is the job hunting going? LORI~ ANYONE SEEN LORI? OH! There you are skinny! Great job on the pounds/inches and the $$$$ gifts for the LAWL. My kids, ex-wife, and her significant other laid out $200 each for a chance to win a house from the Ronald McDonald organization, didn't win...but my ex's S.O. won $500! So cool for him. Now get after those boys! I can tell by their "look" that they are always IN to something ;) That goes for the big one too  I'm sure the girls are Angels ;) MKAY~ YEA!!!!!!! It's MKAY!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you have been busy! Guess you missed the news~~ Angie and I did go to Washington for the summer, after being home, we~~humm...mostly me~~ with her understanding and approval (GOSH! I LOVE MY WIFE!!) well, we decided that we should wait until the kids were a little "more gone" before we made the move permanent. We actually sold the house in ONE day...we should close escrow middle of next week. We can always go up and build another home, we just really weren't quite ready yet. Looks like you are doing pretty good...now get on that :coach:treadmill :tread: :coach: WILMA~ You will be great on Sunday~~ Now me!, :tied: :ziplip: :bomb: :tantrum: :headache: :stress: :fr: I melt! PANIC~PANIC. We have a fairly large church, I played Jesus many times (OK! When I had hair and a beard~~Yes, that was a loooong time ago!) but I refused to have a speaking part! I can read from the choir loft~~ looking at the congregations backs! Or from my pew~~reading out of our bible or whatever Pastor needs me to...but...up in front! OUCH!! Now my kids?~ No problem~~Angie? Piece of cake! I will certainly pray for you...but dear~ nothiong to worry about! You are LOVED there! and here too! MARGIE~ YOU'RE Killing me! ;) OHIO STATE?? COME ON~ Just stick 2 sticks in my eye!! How's little Miss Social doing with her tennis? KYLNNTX~ Great to see you back. Sorry about those Astros, there was just no way the White Sox were going to lose this year...when you have that magic going ya just can't stop it! Close games though, I was hoping that Astros would win 3 straight and make it fun...oh, well. If the DODGERS aren't playing, I really don't know why anybody watches  Great job by Richard! Angie and I walked a marathon a few years ago, our time was 5 hrs. and 43 minutes...there IS NO WAY!! NO WAY!! We could have gone another 5 miles :nono: And we trained for 6 months! We are thinking of training for another one, but it takes so much out of each day, maybe back to doing more 5 k's. My friend's daughter just ran the San Francisco marathon in 3:33, she is 27, and Angie's teacher friend did it in 3:43, she is 43...both train quite a bit though. I think I could've taken you in the driving part...wanna run 'em? Well, off to bed...enjoy your week-ends everyone! HAPPY BIRTHDAY :hb: to my nephew on Saturday~~ 15 years old. |
Hello everyone,
It'sbeen over a week since I'v been here, no weight loss this week  I have been keeping up with all the posts though. Welcome to all the recent joiners. Nothing much is happening here, just my husbby's bithday, yes I made him pumpkin pie, :) I went to the library and got a couple of books, South beach diet and the Glycemic Index diet. They both sound good, but so does every diet I read about. Any thoughts? Prayers go out to Denise and her family. We are having a fall festivle at church, but we won't be going. It's geared to couples with young children and teens. Time to get busy, our prayers for safety for those with young children going out on Halloween. Penny Mac |
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
It is sunny and 52 gorgeous degrees here in southwestern Illinois. A beautiful fall day! Going to LAWL for my 10th visit in October - they have a promotion if you visit 10 times in Oct., 10 times in Nov. and 10 times in Dec. you get a $25.00 voucher for each month to use for products at the center. Not a bad deal! The rest of the day will be usual tidying up and home maintenance! Isn't it great to be a grown-up??   PENNYMAC: Tell hubby Happy Birthday! :woo: Have a GREAT day! GARY: Thanks for the compliments! I'm not invisible yet, but slowly but surely getting there! And Abbi and I are laughing about your comment about the boys. OF COURSE my girls are ANGELS!! And you are SO RIGHT about my boys! You can just see it in their eyes, can't you? They pretty much know not to mess with mama, even the oldest - I'm lots louder than any of them and 100% crazier! Tell your nephew Happy Birthday! Fifteen is lovely, isn't it? Can you believe in a few years when my littles are over I'll have FOUR teenagers at the same time! :fr: :fr: SUE: Thanks for the congrats!! The Christmas play sounds awesome! Lots of work, but worth it! POOMOM: How was the pumpking spice? I'll dig out a pic of Lady soon! STUFFED PEPPERS: How do you all do stuffed peppers in a lo-cal version? I know the peppers are fine and I'll use turkey ground meat. Is there a no sugar sauce or what spices and that do you all use? I thought maybe I could use brown rice too - Any suggestions? Hi to everone and have a GREAT weekend! :carrot:  :dancer: |
Gosh, it's a beautiful day today in SoCal! :sunny: I just got home from a dog show; not showing, just spectating. It was alot of fun, but I'm tired and about to take a nap but thought I'd check in first.
Sue, thanks for the welcome. I loved hearing about your Christmas play. What an interesting perspective. It sounds like you're in charge of costuming, yes? Gary, (or do you prefer being called EZ?), Isn't the growth up in my area amazing? I'm sure you could work loads of hours up here if you wanted to make the drive. What church do you attend in Vista? I get down there once in awhile; my vet is there. I'm in Fallbrook alot as well. BTW, here is my Ruby with her best friend Willie... see, we poodle folks don't discriminate! http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...RubyWillie.jpg Hi PennyMac! How was the birthday pie? Lori, what is LAWL? I didn't get around to the pumpkin spice coffee yesterday, and today is too sunshiny. Maybe tonight. For everyone on DST, remember to "fall back" tonight! |
Hi Again!!
Down another 2.4 for a grand total of 17.4 pounds and 9 inches so far! :carrot: Oh Yea, Lori is coming back stronger than ever!! POOMOM: LAWL is LA Weight Loss - do you have those by you? It's a weight loss center sort of like Weight Watchers, but with personal attention. I'll try to post Lady Girl on here - http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...TazandLady.jpg |
Saturday Afternoon
Hi everyone! It's a gorgeous day here today. I was the one who mentioned that we had snow. It melted and now we've had a couple of weeks of incredible weather. usually the snow stays around here by the end of Oct. today I saw someone walking in shorts. What a treat!! I'll take it as long as I can.
DH and I spent the afternoon shopping for some casual clothes. I again was able to buy some size 10 clothes. (Yes, they fit!) What a feeling!! I sometimes can't believe that I am so close to my goal and that I was once having to look at size 20 clothes. Praise God!! Tomorrow is our big day in church. I'm not too worried about it - just knowing what to say is the problem. God has given us this church to be a part of and we're very thankful for that. DH has burgers on the grill - one of the last times we'll be able to do that this year. Looking forward to it! Talk to you soon! |
Hi Wilma!
I'll be praying for you tomorrow! You will do fine! Send some snow down here! We love it and don't get much at all anymore! |
Saturday
HI GALS

ANYTHING! can happen when these guys meet. MARGIE and PENNY MAC...and that other gal from Ohio...ummm...SUNNYD~ can just barley remember her ;) looks like your $$$EYES came through for you! I think it was a little tougher than the score for awhile. And as for all you TEXANS out there, I am watching, over my shoulder, your Longhorns losing to OSU...hope it stays that way...but....I doubt it! They are too good...we..USC...shall overtake the BCS again this week!! I forgot to mention that I took a day off work this week and drove my daughter up to the USC medical center for a meeting on her Masters...she liked what she heard and was told that there would be "almost" a guarantee she would be accepted in to their program...but the $$$...well, we shall see. She has a meeting next week with the professor of the PHD program she would love to get in to...it would be a 5 year paid program (if I remember right)...however, he only takes 2 students a year...tons apply! She is a smart kid...and of course WONDERFUL!!...but, well...ya just never know...but the odds are not good...however, since he wants to meet with her, after talking to her last week on the phone, guess if he doesn't use her, maybe he can direct her. PRAYERS for my kiddo...for those that don't know, she wants to work with children and obesity. POOMOM~ Yes, it has grown there. I remeber when Temecula had one main street...an older guy that worked with me, for my dad's drywall company told me many years ago when I was in high school to BUY all I could in Rancho California, because as the north San Diego county grew it had to grow to there...boy was he right...he bought land in Fallbrook. I did purchase 4 lots in Canyon Lake around 1978...but sold them  BUMMER~BUMMER  in 1981~2...I think I bought each of them for around $18~20,000 a lot....sold them for ariound $23,000 a lot....last I looked...in 1990...they were selling for $60,000....now after the last 5 years here...well, I would be SICK :faint: :barf: :faint: to find out! Myself and my family have attended Faith Lutheran in Vista for over 20 years. YOU MAY CALL ME WHATEVER YOU WANT...JUST NOT :nono: :censored: :censored: :nono: what Angie does when she is mad  at me ;) WILMA~ You are going to do GREAT! ANYONE SEEN LORI? ;) Well, off to watch football until Angie and Amanda get home, they went to see MAMA MIA...the ABBA play in San Diego...then it's :hb: :hat: here for the nephew...just family though and one friend for him.... WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!! |
MAMA MIA IS AWESOME!
Angie and Amanda will LOVE it! Have they seen it before? My friend, Peg, and I went in late winter last year - it was SO GREAT! What a great show for all of us boomers, huh? HERE I AM!! :carrot: |
Just wanted to update you on how our morning went. I was a little nervous about getting up in front of all those people but I got through it. Many people came up to us afterwards to thank us for sharing. It felt really good. I am glad it's over and it is neat to share what God has done and what he is doing in our lives. We should never be afraid to do that.
Thanks so much for all your prayers! I really felt them! |
Good Aaaaaaafternoon!

It's that time of day...already ate my lunch and now it's time to post.
Jill...I make jewelry at the present time. A long time ago my girls were laughing at me because they decided to jot down all the crafts I tried in the past and present. Ok, so I try new thing...often. :D Anyway, I've been doing the jewelry thing for probably 5 years now and have taught 2 other ladies and we sit in my basement (the workshop) once a week and "do our thing." We are going to be in a big craft show in December. My first big one. Mom2five...the dog thing. DH and I eat sleep and breathe our dog. It's our daughter (beside my 2 grown kids). I will post a pic one of these days. Michele...I see an e-mail just came in from you at work here...You're holding out on me...what coffee date? I'm crushed that you didn't tell me. You know how I LOVE to hear romance stuff. Poomom...Mmmmmm...pumpkin spice coffeemate...I will be looking for it in the store. Penny...My hormone dr suggested the zone diet. I didn't buy the book yet but I will. I did the South Beach last year and took off 20 lbs in about 1 month but gained 10 of it back. I must say, no matter what diet or plan we go on it's all about lifestyle change, self-discipline and God. Gary...Oh my goodnight!!!! I can't believe at the last minute you did a 180. Oh well, I like that kind of living...spontaneous! I am doing just great. DH is doing good too and together, we are not doing too bad. We've come a long way. Sunny...Hello Sweetie Pie! I see you've been busy with siggys. You are the kindest of kind! How are you feeling and how is DH? and the "kids." Well, I do know 2 people posting live in MI a couple hours from me. How fun is that. Well, gotta go for now. I'll be around! |
Happy Halloween Everyone!

Lori, Lady is adorable, but Taz... what a face! Gotta love it! Congrats on the great loss!
Hi Wilma! Wow, you're a big loser, too! Great job! It's stats like those that help keep me motivated. I'm glad that your testimony went so well. I find that if I just share from the heart, I can't go wrong. Gary, you must be soooo proud of your daughter! I will keep her in my prayers. What was her undergraduate degree in? BTW, I moved to Rancho CA in 1982... not a stoplight in town. I hate all the congestion now, but it really was very nice for property values! I haven't been in the Lutheran Church in Vista. I used to sing with the San Luis Rey Chorale and we would rehearse at the Episcopal Church there, and I've been in the Presbyterian Church (since I'm of that persuasion). It's nice that your whole family has been involved with that church. MKay, what kind of jewelry are you making? I have a good friend who is very into beading, and she's made some lovely pieces. I imagine you have to have a pretty large inventory ready to do a craft show. I hope it goes well for you. I'd love it if you'd post a pic or two of your pieces. Oh, and I'm glad that there are other dog lovers here. I'd hate to bore everyone with the talk about my "kids". OK, speaking of dogs and Halloween (we were, right?), here are my favorite little trick-or-treaters... http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...lloweendog.jpg |
OH MKAY~~ Give me a break! It wasn't last minute...we stayed there all summer....wink!
POOMOM~ if that is the Presb. church on Vista Way, my kids took swimming lessons there years ago, my wife went there a few times since she was of that religion, but then went down to Solana Beach, until I met her, she LOVED our religion (and me) and switched, her sister and brother in law go Presb. in Ventura. WELL, My daughter and I made chili on Sunday for her chili cook-off at work~~she got 2nd place....her's was the first one all eaten! she said all the people, over 50, told her she should have won, but the judges liked the other guys, last years winner, best, it was HOT, hers was not. Hey, Angie got 2nd place from it years ago, we are going to name it 2nd PLACE CHILI!!! Well we tricked and treated all night...now time for bed.... |
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
Well, we got through the trick or treating but oh my were my babies wet and cold! I debated whether to let them go at all, but there would have been a mutiny for sure - they didn't care about being wet and cold - they got TONS of candy since the numbers were down this year! POOMOM: Yep, that ol' Taz knows she's a doll baby. She has to sit on mommy's lap at all times - she was even jealous of a human baby I was feeding a bottle to last night! She's a pistol, but a little doll! Who's darling doggies were the five trick or treaters? That picture is priceless! I used it as wallpaper - hope you don't mind! My oldest had cars up there and frankly, the pups are much cuter! MKAY: Your doggie is adorable! Thanks for sending a pic! WILMA: Glad everything worked out at church! I'm sure you are glad it's over, and don't you feel great that you DID it! Hope everyone has a GREAT Tuesday!! :carrot: :ebike: :dancer: :cheer: |
Good Morning!
Halloween is over for another year. We had a grand total of 8 kids come by. We live on a very busy street so parents of little ones don't come by. We have mainly the older ones. So, now to stay away from the candy left over. Fortunately I have lots of help around here to eat it.
Weigh in was the same for me again. I guess I must be plateauing or I need to step up the exercising again. i know I have approx. 10 - 15 lbs. to lose. Mom2five: Yes, I am glad that the testimony is over but I'm also glad I did it. I've had people I haven't met come up to me to welcome me to the church which was really neat. We haven't got to know many people yet so that was really nice. Maybe we'll have some friendships come through this too. Gary: Tell your daughter I'll be praying for her. It sounds like you've got yourself a really smart girl. You knew that though didn't you? Poomom: Your pic was priceless! How on earth did you get them to stay dressed up like that? They must be well trained. I appreciated what you said about being an inspiration. It's this site and all the encouragement I've gotten over the past years that has helped me lose it and keep it off. mkay: Hi! Sounds like you'll be extra busy with your jewelry with Christmas coming soon. Hello to all of you out there. Please post. We miss you! Well, gotta go to work. Have a great day! |
Gary, yep, the Presby on Vista Way where Tom Straeter is pastor is the one I meant. Tom interned at Fallbrook Pres where I was a member for a number of years.
I wish I could take credit for those little doggie ghosts. That was a pic that was sent to me last year and I saved the image. So cute! Today is another busy one... work and then Worship Committee tonight. I guess I haven't given much background about my church. I am an Elder at Grace Pres in Temecula, and I chair the Worship Committee. We're about 6 weeks away from moving into our new, very own, church building. We're so excited and are praying so hard that we're in by Christmas. What a wonderful time that would be to open our new church home. Anyway, my committee is VERY busy since anything having to do with worship, the logistics of the new chancel, etc, all falls on our shoulders. So, it's busy but exciting! Well, I'd better get unscary and head to work. Hope you all have a blessed Tuesday! |
