HI EVERYONE!
How's everyone doing on this beautiful fall Thursday afternoon? Went to LAWL today and am down another 2.4 pounds! :cb: :dancer: Thank-you God! I have so many people praying for me to do this right this time! A few more pounds and I'll never see the 300's again! \O/ SUE: Kaylee is a DOLL! Isn't adoption awesome?? Of course, I'm biased too! I'd love to post a pic of my babies - how do you do that though? BOBBI: :welcome: I joined this group a few months ago and just love them! This is the kindest bunch of people you will meet on the internet, believe me! I am Lori and my DH is Bob - been married 28 years and dated 5 years before that! We grew up together. Our kids are Mike (19), my only biological miracle. Abbi and Chelsi are 9 and were adopted from India. AJ is 8 and Chris is 7 and were adopted from Calif. I have over 100 pounds to lose and just joined LAWL in Sept. Lost around 12-13 pounds so far!! I'm excited! WILMA: Hope the fog didn't cause you any problems! I'm in a fog most days, but NOT due to the weather! RACHEL: Keep us posted on your STL trip! You will be right across the river from me! JONATHAN: Congrats on the great weight loss! I know what you mean about looking at dog food or whatever and thinking about how much we carry around - or used to carry around. When I get to my goal I will have lost 145 pounds. NO WONDER my knees are shot!! GARY: Thanks for prayers for the kids - our school district is so awesome. They are working with AJ on his issues and are actually going to meet with our whole family from time to time - they already work with Chelsi on a cognitive and behavioral basis due to her brain damage - SEW4LIFE: :wel3fc: You will love it here!! MICHELE: Welcome Home! Glad you made it safe and sound! Hi to all you other chickies out there! Have a great evening!! :dancer: :ebike: :tread: |
Mom to 5
I would love to see all your sweeties too, awesome 2.5 more pounds way to
go. I have a hewlette packard which came with hp photo center and I have a program called acdsee photo which lets me adjust to right size than I just add as attachment on bottom. I know some people here use photo bucket. The big thing is the size of the photo. Try it and see if there is a problem someone who uses photo bucket may be able to help. Its weird since I was with her the first two weeks in China before she got home to the rest of her family as it was just me and my sister that went to China, that she'll always be special but then all my nieces and nephews hold their own special place. See ya later, give it a try. |
Catching up....
I have been trying to catch up on the messages here - it's the best way I know how to get to know each of you. It may take me awhile, though, so forgive me!
Thanks so much for the welcomes - I laughed at the "sewing Sue" one - couldn't figure out who that was until I realized it's me! "sew" are really my inititials, but I also love to quilt! So "sewing Sue" works for me. So much is happening in each of your lives - please know I do pray as the requests are made. In a nutshell, Christian Women's Job Corps equips women for life and employment. We just wrote our vision and mission statements and are in the process of writing policy and procedures. Soon we will be training mentors, and hope to be serving clients by June 1st. God is certainly in the details of this ministry, and we are excited to see what He has planned in the Las Vegas area. I remember one of you is from Minnesota - whereabouts? I have LOTS of family in Minnesota. We are heading to Arizona tomorrow with my Dad and Mom, 80 and 77 respectively. I look forward to spending as much time with them as we can. They just live 3 miles from us, so it is quite handy for us to help them out whenever they ask. (Getting them to ask isn't always easy, though!) Congratulations to all on the weight maintenance and losses. Isn't this the pits? 30 years ago I would never have thought I would be going thru this! |
How Do I make photos smaller? (OT)
Sue -
I tried the attachment thingy and it brought up my photos with no problem - But..........they are too big and I have no clue how to make them smaller? Can anybody help me to make my photos 50 kb or smaller? THANKS! |
Hi Sue,
I was from MN but i just moved back to CA this week. I lived in Shakopee. Familiar with that town? It was nice there, but i wasn't happy. Too isolated and I missed my family here. Hello to all. Just checking in before i get to sleep. |
Lori, SunnyD is the expert on this stuff, but if you have a photo program try to look up how to resize a picture. Resize to 360x480 or just make it smaller and then save and then attach. If you use photobucket you can resize there. There are many options. I hope i'm not confusing you.

Oh My Goodness Are We In Trouble!
AUNT SUE~
;) OH MY GOODNESS ARE WE IN TROUBLE!! ;) I AM GOING TO HAVE TO START SAVING MY $$$$$$$$$$$ FOR A SHOTGUN AND SHOOTING LESSONS FOR WHEN KAYLEE STARTS DATING!! |
No kidding, she is a beautiful girl! How exciting it must be to have her in your family.
We are kind of celebrating my brother's birthday today, it was the 11th, but he came home today, just opened his presents and we're having a chocolate bday cake. I'm making the frosting now... and yes, i'm eating cake. I've spent most of the day in bed with a bad back and really swollen ankles and feet. My friend reminded me about my mom's cure of parsley tea, i told her and she forgot too, but made me some and i'm already improving. You just take a bunch of parsley and boil the heck out of it, strain and drink. It really makes you go... ;) but i think it's helping. I was suppose to go see the Late Late Show taped with Craig Ferguson this afternoon but we didn't go because of me. Another time. Here's a pic of my dear sweet mamacita and my baby Simba on our trip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/CAM_0185.jpg |
Usc Wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All Is Good!
|
Hi Everyone!
It's so quiet on here this weekend! Our weekend was pretty non-eventful. Mike went to Six Flags Fright Night on Fri. night with the girlfriend - Not something I would like, but you know 19 year old boys - sigh - they said it was pretty cool. I put a bunch of clothes on ebay today. Some of the kids coats and stuff that were too small. AND some of my clothes that are too big! I can't believe that the small amount I've lost makes a difference in clothes, but it has already! MICHELE: Your mom looks so sweet! No wonder you missed her! I'm glad you are home! And Simba is a doll baby! How old is she? We have 3 fur babies and I'd love for you all to see them, but alas - I cannot get my pictures to shrink! I've tried two different programs! :?: GARY: Well, glad USC won - I don't follow too much sports - although I've been a St. Louis Cardinal fan for 50 years and they are doing terrible with the Astros - :( Not sure what their deal is!! Hope everyone is doing good! Have a great week! :jig: :cb:  |
Hi Lori,
Yes, my mamacita is the best, she truly is and we really did have fun on the trip. We have a few more things to roar in laughter about that nobody else seems to "get". And my baby Simba is 13 years old or 91 in dog years, but she's doing really well and not showing her age too much. She loves it here in CA, but the house in bigger and she always wants to see me, so she's under my parents feet and it gets irritating, so she's finding her way. Things are well here. This week has lots in store. Hoping to find a job. |
no loss but no gain!
I weighed in on Saturday and was glad that after my "bad" week and a half there was no more damage done. I stayed at 170! I was so worried that I had really blown it and would gain but am thankful that I did not. :D So on to another week on the "beach" (south beach that is!) and with the Lord's help I am determined to make good choices all week. :goodscale Thanks for everyone's prayers and thoughts and the welcoming  I received last week. It is great to be part of the group! :grouphug:
Have a great week and I will be talking to you again. Sherie |
Quickie-
Gotta run to catch up on my devotions as way behind again, been so busy what's new.
E.Z.- Isn't she a cutie! I agree- daddy will have his hands full Mitchy- Thanks as well, she makes everyone youthfull again, can't wait till Christmas this year, as always more fun through a child's eyes. My prayers that your soon feeling so much better- hope the tea works what a great pic of mom, I love spending time with my mom and dad and they are two of my best friends, as they always have my best interests at heart. Glad you 'll be able to share more with yours as it is so inportant. I attached another pic of my my two nieces together. Both cute! I am biased though  |
Good Morning!
MICHELE: Can I use your "Thank you Jesus" banner? I know without Him helping me, I'd never get this weight off - it's SO daunting. SUE & MICHELE: I know what you mean about being close to your mom and parents - my parents adopted me at 3 months and honestly, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God for them. Mom and I talk 3 times a day - no kidding! - and I wouldn't have it any other way - they live 90 miles away so we only see them once a week or so, but I treasure them so much! I joined photobucket and reduced the pictures! :cp: But now the attachment thingy on here is saying that it's not a valid tag # - SIGH - what to do now??? SHERIE: Glad you stayed the same - sometimes that's the most we can hope for isn't it?? WHERE IS EVERYONE??? Front and Center! This means YOU!!! Have a great day everyone!! |
Lori, you are welcome to take the Jesus Blinkie, just save to your hard drive and/or photobucket and then link to your signature. And about your pics, when you copy from photobucket, take the one that has a [img] in front, that's the one to use on 3fc. Make sense? Oh, also the pic should be saved as a bmp or jpg that might be the problem.
I made beef stroganoff last night for the family from scratch. It was yummy. Want the recipe, pm me and i'll give you the link. Don't want to get in trouble here. |
Hello Everyone!!!!
 Oh my goodness it has been so long since I have posted!!! I have been so busy lately it was just so overwhelming for a moment. My job has kept me very busy. :dizzy: It is nothing like the summer program. We have started the school year here at the center and we have some very "colorful" students here. I have plenty of stories to tell but will sum it up with weekly we have at least 5 cop cars here, drug dealers in the center, and gang bangers. :yikes: I do believe the Lord has put me here to get through to the students. I have seen His work at hand through me and I know that I am in the right place at the right time.
Update on Channon: She is doing very well!! They thought they were going to have to go in and do another brain surgery because they thought she had another tumor, but praise God it was only scar tissue and it was absorb on its own. She is definitely our little miracle. My husband got a new job!!! He was laid off for the summer but now he has a new job that we have been praying for for the last 8 months. He will start on Monday!! PTL!!!! :cheer: It is going to take some time for me to catch with all of you so I just wanted stop in and say hi to you all!! I have missed you all!!! I will check in later! Myisha |

Here are all four of them!! Chris, Chelsi, Abbi and AJ - :dizzy: :spin:  |
Hello!
We bit the bullet and bought a new computer this weekend. Staples had a really good deal so we went for it. DS is quite jealous of my new 17 inch flat screen monitor. I am loving it and how fast it works.
I've been reading the posts here and have had you in my prayers! It's great to see that there's weight being lost. Myisha: It's so good to see you again. I've missed your posts. It sounds like you have a very challenging job. Praise God for Channon's recovery. It's so neat to witness a miracle like that. Lori: What a nice family you have. I wish the pics had been a bit larger so I could get a better look at them. Michele: I love stroganoff. I made it a couple of weeks ago too and the family loved it. Makes great leftovers too! I better head off to bed. Another day of work tomorrow. It just doesn't let up around here. Good night! |

This one should be bigger - They are at the St. Louis Zoo! |
Lori, What beautiful children!! How close in age are they?
|
Hello, It's been about a week since I was able to gt in here. I do publicity for two groups, and both have been busy. I am redoing all the flyers, posters, and handouts.
Wow! all the babies look so beautiful. :) We have no grandchildren, and all the neices and nephews except one are adults. Our daughter has been divorced for about a year and a half and is not looking, just tryuing to finish school. We are having sun for a change, and we go from the A/C to the furnace, all in the same day. Did anyone see the big moon for the last two nights? It was so bright, the moon light coming through the bedroom window woke me up. God's creation is truely wonderful. Congrats on the weight lost everyone. :ballons: I am the same as last week  but at least i'm not gaining. We got the nestles' cookbook magazine in the mail yesterday, we get it every quarter, and last night we sat and drooled over the receipes :nono: Our daughter is also on 3FC, in another room. My husband's bithhday is next week, and I am thinkin about baking him a pumpkin pie. With Splenda, I can make a dessert about once a month, besides, sugar free jello or yougurt : rolleyes: Thursday, I'm going downtown to work at a science fair. One of the boards I'm on raises money for academic science schlorships for summer Science Camps. We have a science museum in Toledo and we will be there to promote science and environmental concerns. I haven't been to the gym for a couple of weeks, too sore and in pain, but I'm hoping by next week I'll be able to get back in the pool. :workout: Gary, I just have one thing to say, Go Bucks! Penny MAc |
Hi there!
Mom to 5 - WHAT CUTE KIDS! They are beautiful I agree about mom treasure both my parents.
Mitchy- Beef stroganoff sounds yummy haven't had that in a long time. Pray your feeling better. Myisha- Nice to hear from you again, so glad the Lord answered all the prayers for Channon, what a blessing, and for the new jobs. Weren't you going to go on a missions trip this summer, or do I have you confused with someone else, if yes, how did that go? Penny- pumpkin pie sounds yummy, I made pumpkin bars a couple weeks ago for prayer meeting they smelled so yummy cooking, like Thanksgiving. Hi to all others that are MIA. I am doing good, starting to work on outfits for Christmas program for church so will be busy sewing, soon, I do all the costumes and props for the youth program, but it is always fun, and the kids work so hard at their skits and stuff. Like being busy. so gotta run catch ya later. |
Hi Everyone!
That's AJ (8), Chris (7), Chelsi (9) and Abbi (9) - Chelsi and Abbi were adopted from the state of Tamil Nadu in India. They were in an orphanage in Chennai which used to be called Madras. AJ and Chris are blood sibs and only 13 months apart. They were born in Calif. I need to find a picture of my bio child, Mike, who is 19. They all keep me on my toes, that's for sure! Gotta run! LAWL today!! Bye Bye! :cb:  :dancer: :sunny: |
Lori, beautiful kids!! But hey, where are you? Want to see a pic of our dear sweet Lori!
Today my parents are away doing something with my brother so i got up and took a shower, made a cup of tea, having some yogurt and going to finish my resume. Then at noon i'm going to my friend Julie's house to help her with her twin girls, 3, and to help her clean. She said she'd pay me but i told her i'll just help her today and in the future if she wants something we'll work it out. She said she's going to hire someone to do certain things and would rather give me the money, and i can use the extra money so we'll see. It's hard to charge your friends though. I'm going to try and have an on program today. Have to jump on again sometime. Prayers for you all. Hey, where's our other guy Jonathan? Come back, don't leave us alone with Gary.... ;) |
Good Morning!!
Wilma - Yes it was such a miracle and the Lord just keeps on blessin'! My job is quite challenging but also fulfilling when I know that I have reached one of the students. Sue - I did go to Africa. It wasnt for missions though. I do have pictures and I tried to post them but I kept getting a message that said my file was too big so I am not sure how to get them on the post. It is nice to be able to post again! Hey where is Donna and Gary?!! Well, gotta get back to work. I will check in again later! Have a wonderfully blessed day! |
Don't faint. . . .
It's me. . . it's me. . . it's Margie B. :D I know it's been quite a while since I've been able to post and say 'hi' to everyone. Work has been . . . well work! DD keeps me going 4 nights a week also on Saturday, - -so little time for much else. I am keeping up with my walking, have logged 20 miles thus far this month. I'm afraid the time change will slow me down some as I usually can't get to the park until 6:00ish or so and of course it will be dark by then, may have to 'fire up' the old :tread: treadmill (ugh).
HI to our newbies - Sunny 2005: Where are you from? Any news (good hopefully) on your sister? Prayers that all is well. Jonathan: Sounds like you're doing great on your weight loss. I see you have 'mini' goals, what's your next one? Prayers for your family to be in church, - so important. PennyMac: It is flat, very flat in NE Ohio, I'm in southern Ohio, we have LOTS of rolling hills. Mom says there's so much land here the Lord just had to pile it all up! Oh, before I forget, belated BIRTHDAY WISHES to :hb: MKAY and EZ to your :woo: Grandma too, 90 years young!!! That's amazing! Best wishes to both for a GREAT YEAR ! ! ! ! SunnyD - Did you get your bulbs planted? :flow1: I put some red tulips and yellow jonquils in the ground just this past Sunday, all mixed together, now I'm anxious to see them in the spring! How's your walking? Are you and Joe still going together? Fred is no longer my walking buddy, he just kept pulling and pulling, trying to get closer after my numerous conversations with him about being just friends. Well, he got to 'demanding' my time, in person and on the phone (every day, whether I had already seen him or not, still wanted me to call - every night) and finally I just said 'ENOUGH!' I told him we could still walk but no more than that, (I really don't have the time to babysit him) and he decided that maybe he would walk with me and maybe he wouldn't. Well, I haven't called him again to walk, he knows my walking schedule and I figure if he wants to be there he will but we can be friends, and on MY terms! doitforme - Glad your back too. I'm sure you'll miss your camping but apparently C'mas preparations will be keeping your quite busy for sometime! mom2five - I just love reading your posts, they so remind me when I was growing up and at home w/my three brothers, parents, animals, etc. ALWAYS something going on. The kids look great. WTG on your weight loss (PTL for mom & dad) at LAWL! What's your total loss to date, do you know? How often do you go? Have your bulbs come in yet? I have more ordered, looking for them any day now. Way to go Chelsi, straight A's !!!! :bravo: EZ - any more news on Dennis? We'll keep him in our prayers. Glad to Reba is doing okay after that window incident, that would have scared me to death! DD is doing great, Miss Socialite of the 8th grade! Tennis team is currently 4-1, don't play again until up in November but we have practice every Saturday, weather permitting of course! :rain: Glad to hear you are cracking down on Ron, :coach: study, study, study, :drill: he has to know that you won't let it slide! You can't slide through school because there's no sliding through life! DD's grade cards come out Friday so we'll see how well she's really doing at school. Says she's not doing so well in Math, some of it she just 'doesn't get'. I asked her to talk to her teacher to have her explain it again (after all it is the teacher's job to teach the lesson) and then if she doesn't understand or can't connect we'll get into something more (tutoring, etc.) But right now just waiting for the grade card. lateralus/rachel - Great job :cheer: on quitting smoking and the weight loss. . . . :bravo: You go girl! wilma - enjoyed the pics of the wedding, you are so pretty. The quilt sounds just lovely, sure your DIL will cherish it for a lifetime. I hear you on the weekends flying by, I worked 16 hrs on Friday, back for 8 1/2 on Saturday, only had Sunday off. Went to church, then home to work on the yard and just catching up housework, etc. By 8:00 I was worn out, so glad all I HAD to do then was fall into my recliner and watch some TV! :faint: I do have a special prayer request. . . Jeremy, a dear little friend of ours at Sara's school has some kind of cancer of the immune system. He's currently undergoing chemo at Children's in Columbus, 50/70% chance he'll be okay. He's 14, small for his age but 'one of my kids', on the soccer team, and such a good kid, if you could remember him and his family to our Father for strength, healing and traveling mercies, I would so appreciate it. Okay, I know I didn't get to say hi to everyone but hopefully I can get back on this a little more now that my dispatching schedule has slowed down some. Love reading all your posts, come back MIA's, hugs and prayers to all - Margie Miles walked October = 20 Miles walked since 4/4/5 = 260.57 |
Hello!
Went to LAWL today and stayed the same -  But I do know that I probably won't lose every single time I go in for over a year! So...........I will continue doing what I am doing! Normally, I would have gotten upset and just quit the diet if I didn't lose every time. I'm a terrible perfectionist - if I can't do something completely perfect, why do it? Isn't that silly? I'm messing with allergy problems, sore throat, arthritis, yadda yadda yadda, and I know I'm retaining water - so on Thurs. I probably will see a loss again! :cp: It is in the 80's here! I have a really cute Tigger outfit I like to wear for Halloween, but there is no way I can do that costume unless it's 40 degrees or less - I don't think that will happen! Thanks to all of you who complimented my babes - I need to find one of my oldest - I'll try to attach one here of Mike before homecoming. MARGIE: Our bulbs did come in and we are going to have a beautiful hyacinth garden (24) - and they are the giant kind! And also we spread snow crocus here and there - so pretty! I go to LAWL on Tues. and Thurs. |
Hi again!

Hey again. . .
It's a beautiful Wednesday afternoon here, the sun  is just beaming through my office window. Today is in the 80's and tomorrow is suppose to start a week of cooler temps. That's okay with me, I love the fall and cooler weather! :)
WELCOME to more newbies: :welcome2: Jess411 - I too like the Diet Dr. don't have it much, try to stay away from pop. Where are you from? I also am pianist at our church, small, about 60 usually Sunday am. Hope you'll find lots of new friends here. :gossip: mom2five - how's Mike doing on his attempt to quit smoking? Hope that's going well for him. He's a cutie - does he like older women??? ;) ;) :D :o Where your picture? You'll have to dig one out so we can see the 'before' you. You're losing so much weight it will be easy to see the 'after' you very quickly! :encore: WTG!! mnewton - good to see you again. I have been checking out Channon's site off and on, so glad to hear she's doing well. :D Glad to hear DH is working now too, hope that turns into a good position for him. lateralut - how did the other job interview work out? Your pics are great, I did check out the website, you do good photos and your weight loss is really showing. :cheer: Made any decisions yet? Lots to think about, prayers for you dear that God will lead you in the right direction. Is your car still in the shop? Have you done any alternatives to your Curves? All I can tell you is just try to keep your hands busy, :cb: when I do, it at least keeps me from eating! doitforme - both of your neices are adorable, ;) don't they just grow up too fast? Can't believe Kaylee is ready to walk! wilma12 - glad to hear work is going well and your getting comfortable in the new position. New computer KEWL! Maybe you'll be around here more ? ? EZ - What is pozole? :?: Said Angie was cooking it but I've never heard of it. . . mitchypoo - how's California? You're welcome to come and start on mine anytime!!! :D :D I haven't finished spring cleaning yet. . I also saw the 'big moon' last night, isn't it awesome?? Sami - How's mom? :^: Continued prayers for her and you too dear, you've had a rough go of it this year. Well, guess I'll quit for now, waiting on DD to call me as school just let out, parent/teacher conference tonight where we'll pick up grade cards. Hugs and prayers to ya'all - Margie |
Hi all!
It's almost bedtime but I thought I would come and visit for a minute. I thought I was posting often but it looks like I've been lurking more than posting. I guess nothing too exciting has been happening around here so not much to post.
I made a nice shrimp, veggie and rice stir fry for supper. Enough left for tomorrow too which is a bonus. I find making dinners a challenge. Any ideas from any of you of quick easy meals for someone who's tired at the end of the work day? margie: 80's?? I won't see that til next July. Here we're expecting cooler weather all the time and soon the dreaded snow will be here to stay. Rachel: What a nice picture of you! I'll be praying for you as you make your decision. Michele: That was nice of you to help out your friend. You don't know how much she'll appreciate that. Someone did that for me when I had my first baby and I had only one at the time! Prayers for you in your job search. Lori: You're right not to get upset if you don't lose each time you go. sometimes your body has to adjust to the changes you're making to it. The results will show up if you hang in there. Way to go!! It's off to bed for me. Tomorrow I have to meet with my employees individually to discuss their marketing goals. It shouldn't be too stressful but sometimes I make it that way for myself. I'd appreciate prayers!! Thanks. Good Night. :tired:  |
Where is everyone????
Didn't mean to scare  everyone off
. . .was it my breath? :faint: I did take a shower this morning and didn't even need it, after all, it's not Saturday. . . :D ;) :goodvibes :) :sunny: :dizzy: :lol3:  - Margie |
Good Morning!
Here is a photo of my family and I at my mom and dad's last Christmas. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...obBobandMe.jpg Left to right: Karen (my sil), Bob (my bro), dad, mom, me and Bob. Just so you guys know what I USED to look like! Christmas of 2007 will be half that person! :cp: MARGIE: You didn't scare everyone off - it's been quiet here for about a week I think. WHERE ARE ALL OF YOU????? Thanks for asking about Mike. He has slowed down on the smoking, but hasn't quit yet. I know he will do it though! WILMA: I go to WI again today - hopefully my body has "adjusted" all it needs to! I'm ready to lose again! I have a terrible cold, and I don't know if that affects weight loss or not???? EVERYBODY ELSE!! FRONT AND CENTER!!!! WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!! :sumo: |
Lori, nice pic of you and fam.
Margie, no it wasn't your breath! I'm just lurking and trying to get stuff done around here. Took my mom this a.m. to an interview. She was nervous about the drive, so i just took her. It's a ways away and in south LA, not sure she'll take it. But she asked for $$$$$ in salary and they'll pay it, so good for her. Then we came home, had a green chili bean and cheese burrito for lunch and now i have to get busy. I have a coffee date tonight at 7 with Vaughn, we'll see how that goes. And my Walmart guy is continuing to call from MN. No job news for me yet. Hello to all and prayers too. |

Sunday
HI FOLKS
:coffee: Having my morning :coffee: here so I thought I would check in since it has been a week. Not much going on here other than football and baseball games on TV. USC WINS!! :cp: My RAIDERS are still stinking up the place. My DODGERS and ANGELS are out and I gotta root for someone...soooooo GO SOX! in the World Series ;) Angie and I are going with my daughter this morning to my ex-wife's condo, that she just bought, to replace some electrical boxes, mount a TV, and fix shower doors. She is in Oklahoma right now visiting her brother and my daughter wants to suprise her with the repairs when she gets back. After that we will probably go to the OKTOBERFEST at church. Thanks for the continued prayers for Dennis, not much has changed as far as I know at the moment, my daughter's boyfriend and him just got back yesterday from a fishing trip in Montana, things went as well as they could there~~ it was a reunion for Dennis and some of his high school buddies from the 60's. LORI~ Sorry about your Cardinals :( I haven't liked them since around 1964 or so, I was about 9 and my dad and I bet on the World Series between them and the Yankees...being a kid...you HAD to like the Yankees, right  with Micky and Roger~~anyway, the Cardinals won and boy oh boy did my dad razz me  Being from Ill., he had to go with the Cards~~ I have HATED the YANKEES ever since!! Your kids are absolutely FANTASTIC!! You have every right to be proud~~you and your hubby are so bad yourselves ;) As for me~~Winne the Pooh ;) Great work at LAWL! MICHELE~ Simba sure looks like she is ready to "get home"! How is the job hunt going? Are you glad to be back to ALL THE TRAFFIC  :nono: WILMA~ WOW! new computer~~you deserve it! OK~ Here is what we do for a fast, healthy dinner-- Pick up already cooked rotissere chicken at the store, pull the skin off (which I sneak away from Angie before she can throw it in the trash ;) )warm up some tortillas, then pull apart chicken and place on tortillas with tomatoe, onion, cheese, lettuce, and beans of our choice~ pinto, refried or black usually, with salsa and/or sour cream. This is Angie's favorite meal because it is healthy, good, fast, easy and cheap~~ AND NO COOKING! RACHEL~ OH MY! What a step you may be taking. I am praying for God's will to be done in your life. You are such a cutie! NO SMOKING! Sure looks good on YOU! ;) AUNT SUE~ What a great picture of the neices! Is there a "special theme" this year on the Christmas projects...outside of the usual, robes and stuff? Hope work is going well for you and you north easterners have a mild winter after last year! MYISHA~ So glad to hear Channon is doing well, and your new job. As far as where's Gary?~~~humm...all I gotta say is Where were you? ;) I spent almost 2 months in Washington and you didn't even come see me ;) OH yea, so sorry :nono:  about your HUSKIES yesterday against USC  :nono: PENNY MAC~ OHIO STATE???????? WHY DON'T YOU JUST PUT A STICK IN MY EYE! :faint: :yikes: I went to back to back Rose Bowl games in 73-74 I believe...memory fails me sometimes ;) I remember the first one very well! We killed the buckeyes....I forget the next one ;) USC must have won ;) MARGIE~ Sorry you had to do what you did with Fred, unfortunately, he called it upon himself. Great news on the tennis~~ so you have a little "social" problem in the making...humm.... ;) Grand to be popular! Or so they tell me, I wouldn't know  being shy and all. Pozole or posole is a mexican soup~~ Angie makes hers with chicken, black olives, onion and hominy...plus some other stuff (she is out walking the mutts right now so I can't ask her, if you want the recipe I can send it later)...it is very tasty! Now, I have mexican friends that like the soup but they say their's is red...as far as I can tell people put different things in it...I was always going to look it up online, but then, I just really like Angie's...so why change it! SUNNYD~ OH...wait.....she left us :( :?:  WELL TO ALL THE OTHER MIA'S~~ I hope all is going well in your lives! Off to the EX'S~~~~~~~~~then can't wait to judge that beer at the OKOBERFEST  |
Hi Everyone!
LAWL just called and I WON an overnight stay at a fancy hotel in downtown St. Louis AND $30.00 gift certificate at Joe Bacarrdi's Restaurant!!! Isn't that cool? I think the hotel is probably at least $150.00 a night - we are giving Mike and his girlfriend the restaurant $$$$ for babysitting! :carrot: Bob and I haven't had a night by ourselves in probably 15 years or so!! ;) :D :carrot: :dizzy: I'm not sure who is happier - him or me!!! They had an open house on Monday and Tuesday of last week. You got a certain amount of tickets for different things. For coming in, you got a ticket. For buying certain products, you got a ticket. Bobbing for apples was 20 tickets! And OF COURSE I did THAT! I nearly drowned but I did it!!    GARY: Glad to see you again! Thought you were travelling or something! How was the beer at the Oktoberfest? Boy, back in the day, we sure loved those German festivals. THey have a Strassenfest in downtown St. Louis every year and we really really enjoyed it!!! ;) Hi to everyone else!! Hope to see ya'll back here one day!!! :carrot: :strong: :jig:  |
