Hello, everyone. I, too, am a believer and I started the South Beach diet a little over 2 months ago and I have had great success with it and lots of prayer! I am beginning to feel a little lonely on this weight loss journey, so I thought I would drop in, say "hi", introduce myself, and hopefully make some friends! My name is Jenni, I'm married, and have 4 children. Samantha (my step-daughter, she lives full-time with us) is 14, Austin and Emily (twins) are 8, and little William is 2. We live on the gulf coast of Florida, but I was born and raised in West Virginia. I have been overweight most of my life, but just recently reached my heaviest and decided to lose weight. So far I've lost 26 pounds! I just tonight bought an outfit size 18/20! I haven't been able to wear that size in years! More importantly than anything else, I thank God for all He has given me, for all He has done for me, for all He is doing, and for all that He is going to do. I know for a fact that I couldn't have made it this far without Him and His love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. We truly serve an awesome God!!!

HI LADIES

Taking a few minutes before I have to get chores done...the BIG GRADUATION PARTY for my kids is next Sunday, so LOTS to do! I went to church at 8 with Ron, he stayed for Sunday school hour, then help in the nursery, he will come home with Angie after the 10:30 service...we went seperate since she had to play bells at second service..we both like the early service "time" better! Too late for us getting out at noon.

Angie talked to Lara at her dad's this morning...she said she had a good time at Prom. She didn't go to the party at another girl's house after the dance...seems a couple of the girls got nasty and un-invited another girl from the limo they were sharing...Lara felt bad for her and didn't want to hang out with the others...Proud of her!

Finally saw my daughter last night...first time since she graduated last Saturday...she has been down at the condo cleaning it up and moving her stuff back up here...between my house and my ex...

GREAT NEWS! Got a call when I came home from work yesterday...it was my son's friend, and mine...Juan...he was on the train and needed to be picked up. He got an unexpected last minute leave from IRAQ for 2 weeks...so good to see him! I dropped him off at his folks..bet his mom was surprised!! She didn't know he was coming home. He is doing fairly well, he had to take a life with his machine gun---they were attacked by insurgents in their humvee...you can tell the difference from when he left in Jan. and now....sad situation this world.

WILMA I hope your dad is better, that you got to visit this week-end. How is your mom doing?

Good Morning...Welcome Jenni and Jazzy Jeans...

EZ...great cooking siggy. My motivation is up and down. today, I feel tired and indifferent. I have a feeling womanly things are goin on with me lately. Probably "that time" coming on in my life. I turn nifty fifty in September.
DH is doing fine. I just get a little tired of always hearing about the foot. It's been 3 full months now. I know, I'll stop whining. I'm glad to hear that your friend may be starting counseling. I know she will follow his lead (if she's wise). Lara is quite lovely. I do like to see young ladies made up with pretty clothes and makeup and hair done.

Well...will be busy at work today so I probably won't be cking in again until tomorrow. Healthy eating class at my house tonight and expecting about 8 people. I have to leave work, take a friend to pick up her car from the garage and hurry home to wash my floor. Between the dog and DH work shoes, it gets dirty...alot.

Hello all, we had a busy yet fun weekend. Sara's dance recital was Saturday nite, REALLY good, they did a modern dance to 'Wade in the Water' all the girls in white costumes, really, really good. Sara said she liked this piece better than any she's ever done in dance! Unfortunately there was no videographer and we aren't allowed to take videos at the performances, so. . . we have to go back, in full costume 2 or 3 weeks and re-do for a video.

Sunday was good yet. . . Sleeping Beauty was really pretty, the girl in the lead, Princess Aurora is going to college in classical dance, very good at ballet but let's just say that some of the students weren't 'ready' and missed cues and at one point stopped the music and all for several minutes waiting on some of the very little girls to go on, - quite distracting from the whole piece but overall went well.

My Mom went w/me on Sunday (2:00 performance) and whined the whole time about how we were going to be late for my g-niece's recital (6:00 performance, 35 minutes away). I got so-o-o tired of her constant complaining about 'running late' and not going to be there on time and should have drove separately, etc. finally I just looked at her and said 'what do you want me to do?' Obviously there was nothing I could do and we left after Sara's show, went straight to Brooklynn's and we were 40 minutes early!!! The door's weren't even open to get into the theater! Needless to say I just had to give my Mom a real hard time every time we would hit a traffic light or anything about having to wait 2 more minutes and 'might be late', - she got so tired of my teasing her!!! Brooklynn's little recital went well also, one dance was with 'someone you love' and she danced with her Dad, in full uniform, he just got back from Iraq in December, really touching.

Walking. . . seems like I haven't got to for a while, but I did walk at lunch on Friday, 39.46 is May's total, - hoping I'll break the 50 mi marker Donna set for us. . . speaking of Donna, has ANYONE heard from her?? Where are you girl? Tell Joe you need a break so you can come back & play with us a little!

jazzyjean - compusive eating, I struggle with that daily! I don't know how to tell you to get over it because I still haven't. My best defense so far has been just to keep busy, that way there's little time to just 'want' something. I know if I'm 'just' watching TV at night, I can hear the potato chips calling my name, regardless of how much or when I had dinner, - it's tough. Welcome, keep us posted and would love to hear if you have any tips on what helps you.

jen1teacher - Welcome also. Say you're from West Virginia, I'm in southern Ohio, where from WV? I grew up just outside of Huntington, do you know where that is? Did you live close?

EZ - we knew you're just a big ole teddy bear, - really cute siggy. Lara's prom pics are very pretty, the blue is very becoming on her. You & Angie should be very proud of her for standing up for her friend, so many kids have no values and just worry about being popular. We had some horrible news this weekend, some kids (4) across the river were all found shot to death in the early morning hours yesterday, apparently had all gone to prom Sat. nite and were found dead in a known 'drug area'. Have to get the paper and see what else I can find out about it, - don't know if it was racially motivated, drug related or what, maybe the kids were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, so sad. Great news on your post, Juan being home, I bet his momma is one happy camper!

mkay - sounds like you'll be quite busy today. Hope your health eating class goes well. What do you actually do there, - just share ideas & info or actually cook healthy for the group? Sounds like it could be a great information exchange.


lateralus - Way to go girl, - great 'losses' all over. I'm sure you're seeing the results by now and have probably 'felt' the difference for quite a while now. Prayers for safe travel Wednesday and a wonderful journey, - enjoy China!!! Of course we're expecting pics when you get back!! By the way, did you say how long you'll be gone? I guess you, Michele and I will all be gone the end of May/first of June, - what will they do without us???

mitchypoo - Sounds like the YC is going great, - isn't is nice to really enjoy your work, make 'work' a whole lot easier too, now you're taking on a new challenge and being creative too!! How's the wedding afghan going? Finished yet? CA will be a great break, - I bet you're getting really anxious.

Hi everyone! Well, I'm off to China on Wednesday! I haven't been able to post lately because I've been VERY busy packing/just doing general things to get ready to go, go go! I'll be back June 3rd, but it's very likely I will be too tired to do much of anything until probably Monday. Oh, I am just SO excited I can barely contain myself!!!!!!! I am doing great! But yesterday was a downer as the lady that works with me who's sister was in the last stages of breast ca. passed away last Friday, so I had to go to the wake last night, and it rained all day, suppose to rain all week. I am asking or sun for the weekend, can you work on that E.Z. and sunny?

E.Z.- Our big ole teddybear, What an appropriate siggy, sunny did good! Thanks! That was a beautiful pic of Lara she is avery pretty girl, who has alot going for her, good values as well. Sometimes its not easy to make the right decisions, but she definitely did. Bowling went good, we finished in 10th place and that's o.k. because we always have a good time. The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe is being made into a movie as well, due for release in Dec. Sohappy that your friend is home on leave, an awesome surprise for his mom,
