Hey mkay. . .
Hey girl, you crept in and did a post while I was doing mine! We all have good days and bad days, but yes, you need to take control. . . I always 'divide and conquer', take one issue/problem at a time, get it resolved and then move on to the next. Otherwise, at least for me, it seems if I just do a little here and a little there (I call it the 'band-aid' effect, especially when you've got a gusher!) then I never get done and the first thing comes back to haunt me before I can even get started on the next (did that make sense?) Anyway, find a system that 'works' for you to get yourself in-line and yes, go with the South Beach diet if it has worked for you before, at least you know how it works and won't have to spend a lot of your time just learning the diet. . . good luck! Keep us posted! - Margie

Hi all  CE'rs,
Glad the newbies have been keeping the thread moving along. Sorry, i've been distracted and I had a horrible monday and i've just not been very good about doing anything lately. I have been trying to do good on my plan, but i'm still struggling too. I do ok for breakfast and lunch but still struggle in the evening. Yesterday i challenged a dear friend to drink our water and i didn't even meet that goal. So today's a new day and it'll be a good day. Lateralus~hang in there dear. We do all have our ups and downs. It's a real bummer about the car. I'm glad you weren't hurt. Will insurance help? Gary~sorry about DD. I guess being involved in sports they learn to take the defeats with the wins? Margie~what's happening with Fred? Any dinner plans yet? Still walking with him and DD? Mkay~ :grouphug: That sugar demon, i just don't like him either. But today's a new day dear. Hello to all...prayers for you too. Sunny, hoping your absence doesn't mean anything bad with DD... |
Good morning all.Just stoping in to check on how everyone is doing. Beautiful day here, but calls for rain tonight and tomorrow so I guess I won't be watering any plants today. Have been keeping myself pretty busy, less time to think. Finished one tablerunner with napkins this morning, for a Christmas gift and will start a Grandparent sampler later today. Would have gotten more done last night but spent several hours on the phone with my friend, she is going through a divorce and is having a rough time, I hope I said some things that will make her feel better.
Wilma12: I was very glad to see my dad too,it will always be a sweet memory, I hope your dad is doing better today, and I will add him and your family to my prayer list. Margie B: I so agree one pound is better then no pounds, that is about what I average every week, I have seen results with my gazelle, maybe not so much with the actual weight loss but toning I have 2 slipped discs in my back so that and walking is about all I can really do without intense pain.We had a coach like you DD had, always screaming at the top of his lungs, calling the girls names. He was removed and no longer coaches, its too bad some people ruin it for so many others, again thanks for you continued prayers. lateralus98: I'll join you and Mary Kay I fell off the wagon a bit this week too. I think with all the issues with my dad I turned back to my old comforter...food, but I never though I wouldn't have an off time so refuse to beat myself up over it, and will just go on.I'm sorry to hear about your car, it can be a real bummer, we had just bought a 2004 Nissan and my husband lets say got a little to close to the car in front of him, we had the car only for 2 weeks, but things like that happen, and the most important thing is you didn't get hurt, hang in there, things will start to fall in place. Well time to make lunch for Ron, so he can get back to work he is a Master Auto Tech and lately work has been really slow, but today he is busy, so it will be a quick in and out, Blessings to all. Nancy |
Hello Everyone.

Eating the right things has not been to prority, but I have not gained either. Youngest son's awards were to day and last day of school for youngest tomorrow. SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW. Calgon take me away..... Geting ready for two days of roping with my company so no rest yet. LOL I will try to drop by tomorrow. |

Wednesday
HI GALS
I am home today "preparing" for a....ah....humm....well let's just say some "rear end" work ;) ...Just routine check-up for my age group  Had my teeth cleaning this morning so I should be good and clean at both ends in a few hours    Just want all the regulars to know that nephew Ron is doing great on his medicine for his ADHD...he has been so busy doing homework and catching up. He has thanked me for getting him back on it...I got a call from one of his teachers today expressing her concern for his being on meds...she said she thinks he just shows off for the other kids, that he is smart--the one that always knows the answers when called on and that if she rides him he "behaves"...I explained to her that I did not want him medicated either...that he will "stay focused" when he is being held accountable 1 on 1...however as soon as we get off him he returns back...I explained to her when he is good in her class..he loses focus in the others...he just can't do it ALL... That I tried everything, talked with every teacher, tried all of their suggestions and nothing worked for the 3 years I have had him.Very thank-ful for her concern. SUNNY I hope all is well with you GRAPHIC GODDESS...I have not forgot the signature, Angie just has not been here by the computer to fix it...she has been so busy too. I hope you father is feeling better..PRAYERS! MICHELE Get back on track girl! The weather here has been great, your gonna love it! Poo to Eric. MKAY Get organized! Just one step at a time dear! SUE How's camping? WILMA Great job by the church for future DIL! SHERRY HAPPY for your family and their "LOSS!"...big game today between Step-d's team and cross town high school "my alam-mater"...if she wins her team ties my old school for league, if not my school wins league out right...both will make the play-offs for the county. MARGIE OOPS! That was WALSH college...they are from North Canton. My kiddo lost yesterday and are heading home today...the boys team lost too. Talked to her last night on the phone, she said she played very well and was happy with that but she just didn't want to end her college carreer that way. She said they lost doubles 8-6 and she lost singles 7-5, 6-2...she said they would have lost 5-4 as a team if allowed to finish the matches...in this format first team to 5 wins..WINS...1 point for each doubles and singles matches..3 doubles and 6 singles make a team score...they won their first match 9-0...I looked at the NAIA site earlier and saw the team they lost to yesterday was beat 9-0 today by the #1 NAIA team in the country...so it wouldn't have been a good day today for our girls either :( if they had advanced. CHRISTY Great job by the boys for "GETTING THERE"! NANCY Does your DH need any work? I am stuck without a mech. now that my ex wife's boyfriend sold his shop ;) TEEL How is the weather "OVER THERE?" Hope all is well....keep up the good attitude. RACHEL This too shall pass! MARILYN I hope your friends are being comforted. Well, need to take care of some business..... PRAYERS FOR EVERYONE!!...Gary |
Hello
Just a short note to ask for your prayers. My dad had a stroke during the night. We don't know how serious it is but he is in the hospital. Please pray for him and my mom who will be taking this really hard. I also find it frustrating to live 2 hours away and can't go to see him until the weekend. My step brother is there and is keeping me posted on how he's doing.
Thank you so much for your prayers. |

We're here for you wilma, many prayers going up today for you, your DF & DM for peace, comfort & healing. Please keep us posted as you can - Margie

Wilma...Prayers are streaming your way for your family. Just be still and know that He is God. He's got this all under control right now.
Who's going roping? And what the heck is roping? I see it as roping cattle or something like that or maybe rock climbing. Where is everyone? |

Update...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ALOVELYday.gif Good Morning Everyone... It's been quite a week... Monday: Joe and I went walking together... Now Joe is joining me on Mon - Wed & Friday's... his BP has NOT been good and we think he just needs to get plenty of rest, a walk in the mornings and lower his salt-intake (Wilma's --->DASH Diet). Today it has lowered some (we have a machine), so we are doing the right thing. He really doesn't want to go on meds. I will monitor him twice a day right now (for 10 days / he's on day 3) and if it doesn't continue to go down; then he has to get to his Dr. So far the numbers have gone down slightly :crossed: Tuesday: I had my GYN ck-up (yuk) and Peggy goes for hers too, so that makes it nice, going together --- all is well and I am healthy, she just thought I should slow up and walk every other day right now, so that's what I am doing... 2.25 miles every other day. I have been getting so very tired by noon, having to push through my days. Now I just have to go for my yearly Mammo in June (double yuk :p ). I also got a call from my mother Tuesday and now she is very ill :( She has a blocked bile-duct (a stone we hope! and not caner :( ) causing pain in her liver (ouch!!) She has a difficult time eating and sleeping right now. She is going for blood-work today @ 3:30pm to see what needs to be done - looks like surgery! In the meantime... she is on pain-meds to get her through a day and sleep at night. I hate that I am so far away!! She insisted that I stay put and that she is fine, but I am so very concerned! As for my father... he was put on meds for Silent Pneumonia... a very sick man. It's*All or Nothing* you know... when I spoke to my mother yesterday she said that daddy is feeling much better now that he has the meds. *Thank-you all so very much for your fervent Prayers* I have told my parents that you all have lifted them up and they are very touched that people that don't even know them are praying for them. That is really cool when you think about it!! You people are God's Gift to me and my family!! *Thank-you!* Peg (my best pal - for all the newbies ;) ) and I had a great time out Tuesday after our Dr's appointment... it felt good to laugh, I have felt so very down-hearted about my folks lately. We went to lunch and then off to the computer store :D We shopped for a whole NEW system for her --- she is so excited! I helped her because she didn't have a clue what to get --- we got her a whole new HP system. I am SO GREEN  It's beautiful and she'll have it for a lifetime with all the bells and whistles on it. She got the HP Pavilion Pentium4: 512MB Ram, 200GB Hard Drive, DVD+RW, CD, XP Home, the 15" Flat-screen Monitor, the Keyboard & Mouse, Speakers, and a 3 in 1 (copy, scanner & printer) and a Good Serge Protector for a grand total of only $1,200 after her rebates and with an extended 3 year warranty to boot --- she did "real good"! Wednesday: Joe took the day off yesterday and we went over to their home to help her set up and get going --- it's always so exciting!! We got home at 11pm last night --- LATE for me! I really wanted to get her connected to the Internet, but she could not find her ISP Providers number --- oh well... we'll get her up and running soon. In the meantime, I loaded some games, a card shop program and a screen-saver that I had to keep her busy till we get her going. She and hubby are going camping this weekend anyway... Thursday: This morning I have been on the phone trying to clear up an error made in my checking account... I went to check my acct. as I do every Thursday and there's a company that I wrote a check out for 125.00 and it's very clearly written on the check, but they cashed it for 725.00  !!! When I called the bank this morning she said that it has to be investigated first, but that I should see it cleared up in a day or two (fingers crossed!)... this could really cause problems for our account if they don't... thank the Lord I had enough $$ in the account and it didn't go red! Scary!! When it rains it pours --- :dizzy: to be continued... <>< *~*~* |
Catching up...

Going camping... Sue, it looks like we are in for a beautiful weekend - weather wise - I bet you cannot wait to go camping!! My friends are sure excited about going... they just bought a new pop-up camper. Sprout, it's so good to see you. I will keep your DFriends, Len & Pat in my prayers... I had to try and read your post 4 different times!! I was crying so hard that I couldn't read it... silly me. My heart just goes out to your friends and their loss of Charlene... yes, you are right - she is now happy with the Lord. I hope that you are doing okay :goodvibes You have been such a good friend to be there when they needed you. And I totally know what you mean about the abandonment of these kids... I have a Down-Syndrome nephew now 29 years old and still with his folks, but lives a good life. Has a job, cooks for himself and even has a girlfriend he goes on dates with... the disabled are such beautiful children - God's chosen w/o a doubt! Bless Your Heart!! *Prayers* Hello Gary, The pictures of Amanda's Graduation are so beautiful!! The Beautiful People as well as the Beautiful scenery! Thank-you so much for sharing them all! You, Angie and Brenda have allot to be proud of with your children!! And I am so happy to hear that Ron is doing so well with his meds  May life be easier on you all from here on in ;) :goodvibes So sorry to hear that Amanda and team lost... (((Hugs))) I do hope that you will be able to get your sig corrected soon --- it's driving me nuts! Just kidding... I haven't been here  I do have another one for you too!!! So you could switch every now and again if you wanted... this one suits you too!! I'll send it by PM for Angie to add next to the other or just trade them off when you want a change, okay. Sherry, :bravo: You and your family are doing such a GREAT JOB on your food programs... you have allot to be proud of!!! Keep up the great job :bravo: And I am sure that all that running around you are doing is a big help in your wt-loss too!! Take Care!!! Nancy, How are things going with your father and family... any progress? Have you been able to catch up with yourself? (((Hugs for Nancy))) MKay, I'm kinda glad right now that it's been so quiet here --- I would never have caught up if it stayed as busy as it was a few weeks back  I do hope that you are feeling better today --- when I feel like that going for a walk makes it all better. Do you do any form of exercise? It really does help me so much. My Dr. was so proud of my efforts! I went into the office with my log so she could see what I have been up to  Awe Rachel, I do hope that you are feeling better today... sometimes it's chemical bal. thingy and we just have to have a small piece of DARK chocolate --- all better ;) Seriously... Feel better sweetie :bubbles: *Prayers* WoW Margie!!!! You are really up there in the miles!!!! I am so proud of you!! I bet you are over 35 miles by now... I am at 21.75 miles for May as of today... only walking every other day for now, I have been so very tired. I actually get so tired that I get a low grade fever - that's why Doc wants me to ease back a bit. OHHHH... I have finally lost another pound!! As of yesterday!! I am now 188 and hopefully I will see it continue to move downward!! I think it's because I have been so very physically busy the last two weeks, working in the gardens along with the walking. We have so much to still get done in the gardens, so I hope to see more come off :D Sorry I haven't been around... Awe Michele, I do hope that you have been able to get back on track again --- you have been doing so well! Don't settle sweets... that is just what the *devil's whispers* will do --- trip you up ;) Whatever you do --- *Don't look back* at what you didn't or haven't done, just move forward to what you can do today to make better choices. That goes for all of us watching and hoping to take better care of our bodies - the temples of God. Live for today and the choices we make - we cannot change the ones already made :flow1: {{{Big Hugs}}} You have that trip coming up and I bet that it's working on you --- expectations from your friends, family, and of yourself... don't let the devil do that to you!! You deserve to have a Great time!!! I wish I had been here sooner... I'm so sorry I have been away. Christy, Good to see you too! Wow... you do sound busy too... tiz the season... Spring brings new life and graduations, weddings, gardening, baseball games, camping, trips, etc, etc... *Congrats* to your DD and to your family with her Graduation :cp:  Does she have any plans for her future? Yeah for your sons!!! Roping?? *Hello's* out there to all of you who may be reading, but haven't the time to post... we are thinking of you in *Prayer* each day and want you to know that you are so *Loved* by our Lord!! *God's Blessings & Love* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e_envelope.gif <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Hello to all! Wilma how are things going for you now? Heaps better I do hope... :grouphug: :goodvibes :goodvibes It is very hard for family when we live too far away to simply get in the car and drop by in times of need. I live 1 1/2 hrs from my parents so cannot often get across to see them, and lately they haven't been able to get to my house either.... :( I'm glad DB is on the spot though to keep in contact and let you know how things stand. Sunny I see you are online as I post. Hello to you my friend. I'm sorry to read about your bad news with mum and dad. I hope things get better very soon. I also hope the bank sorts out the mistake very soon. Thats a large mistake to make! EZ. ,sorry Amanda and team lost in the games! Hope she doesn't feel too disappointed...better luck next time!! :goodvibes :lucky: Hi to Mitchypoo...sorry you are having a struggle at the moment....[[[[HUGS]]]] to you :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for strength and renewed perseverance...I think it must be something to do with the inclement weather!! I too am struggling to keep OP at the moment. Well, over in my neck of the woods, spring seems to come occassionally and then it disappears off again!. We have a few days of warm lovely blue skies and sunny weather and then we get grey, cold and miserable weather to put up with! Its just under 6 weeks till I go to Edinburgh for a fortnight's holiday and to finally meet up with Linus. She is snowed under with preparations to move house right now.She should be moved in to the new house before I get to Scotland which is very exciting. It will be so great for her and the family and the 2 dogs to have their own front door and their own garden to sit in and for the dogs to run round in...I get the impression they are SO fed up where they are at the moment they simply cannot wait to up sticks and get setled in to a new place. And then of course there is the new baby...:bb: My ankle is still being a pain with the arthritis in it. I really do miss the anti-inflammatories that I used to take regularly but can no longer do so.. :( :o I seem to be taking so many extra pain killers I sleep way in to the morning and am good for nothing till nearly midday... :faint: :faint: :tired: :tired: :tired: The builder is still hard at work although he has only managed to come for two mornings this week. He has done so many jobs around the house I wish I had found him years ago!! He is such a lovely chap!! Next week he is going to knock a large hole in an interior wall so I can enlarge the utility room and get my scooter out with a lot more ease than I can at the moment...then I may get out a lot more...the dog needs far more excersise than she gets at present, too!! Tlking of which, it's Holly's tea time so I'd best get to it. Bye for now. God Bless all. Take good care. |
Thankfully it's Thursday
EZ - North Canton is up close to Donna, it's 5+ hours from me, very pretty area. Good news on Ron, glad to hear the meds are helping and other avenues were considered. Prayers for a safe journey home for Amanda.
SunnyD - Keep Joe on track, the walking will be good for him & his BP. Your 2.25 is still good mileage, you may still reach last months total and I agree with you that walking does make you feel better, not only physically but mentally too. As of now I have 35.29, my lunch walk was hot, it's 78 here, very sunny & humid, rain moving in. Hopefully can get a walk in at the park tonight too. Sounds like you and Peg had a great day out shopping. Hope they get your 'bank error' straightened up soon, Man, I would bounce all over the place! teel - Your Edinburgh holiday sounds good, I'm sure your getting excited about the trip. So sorry to hear that your ankle is still causing you so much pain, - have you discussed other types of relief w/your doctor? Surely there's something else out there you can get. . . prayers love. Hope everyone is having a great day, - lots of prayers going up for all the sickness and hugs comin' at ya! - Margie |
