WELCOME CHRISTY

OK...HERE IS MY TAKE ON THE NEW POPE...FROM WHAT I HEARD TODAY HE SEEMS TO BE LIKE THE LAST ONE...A MAN I ADMIRED...SO THAT IS GOOD...

BUT I WON $10 FROM MY NEPHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIGHT AFTER THE LAST POPE DIED MY NEPHEW SAID "UNCLE GARY OUR NEW POPE IS GOING TO BE BLACK"...I TOLD HIM "WE (BEING LUTHERANS) DO NOT HAVE A POPE...THE CATHOLICS DO....BUT THEY NEED TO VOTE ON A NEW ONE WHEN THE TIME COMES. WELL, HE SAID THE NEWS SAID THE NEW POPE WOULD BE BLACK...I TOLD HIM THE NEWS DOESN'T KNOW...THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO STIR THINGS UP...HE MIGHT BE BLACK, BROWN, WHITE...WHATEVER...BUT THE MEDIA DOESN'T KNOW YET...THEN NEPHEW SAYS...''I'LL BET YOU $10 HE IS BLACK...FROM ETHIOPIA I THINK.."...

DON'T KNOW WHAT I WILL DO WITH MY $10

Tuesday PM

:)Good Afternoon CEers!!!

I'm finally home and trying to catch up on all the posts.
Ya'll haven't made it easy for me today.
:crazy:You had to pick today to be talkative!;) :dz:
Well, it has been crazy at work and dealing with fairly new RNS and
people that I don't usually deal with. They have already hired
three part time LVNS and they are going through training/orientation.
But I will continue to work for them until they don't need me anymore.
I may be tired and aggravated but I will be faithful and help them
until they get through the crisis.

One good thing is that I have been eating really well. I've been packing
my lunch everyday and if it ain't in the lunchbox I can't have it. But, I'm
having trouble with swelling in my lower legs again and need to be
drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, which I am but may have to
cut back. :?: I will probably go Friday to WI and hopefully that old
iron demon will be nice :goodscale:

Well, Rachel, did you have a good nap?
Don't ya just love the graphics!!! I used to do it but it's too
time consuming for me these days.

:sunny: Yeah, Sunny . . .
Congratulations on the THREE miles today and the
THIRTY miles for April!!!

I am walking but not near what you ladies are able to do
on a regular basis. I try to get 1/2 to 3/4 mile on the treadmill
and most days still end up with 3 - 4 miles altogether by the end
of the day. But that really wears me out. It's really hard on
my heart, pushing myself like that. :tread:

Nursing is a
crazy field. There is always a shortage in
all phases of nursing!
Thanks for starting the new thread!

Glad to see you peeping in Jackay!;)

Yeah, MargieB the Hot Pink is IN!!!! :cb:
With me having two girls PINK is definitely an IN color in
this house!! I do plan on taking lots of pictures.
Congratulations on the THIRTY and a HALF miles for April!!

You and Sunny are really Awesome!!!

How do you like dispatching?? I have often thought I would
like to do that if I wasn't nursing.

Hey Wilma . .glad to hear
that work is getting much better. Prayers going
up for the teller that you are struggling with. Offering her
food seems to work for a lot of people. ;) I pray that
ya'll have the opportunity to work things out.

Your Grand Rapids trip sounds GREAT!!! Hope you
are able to get lots of R & R and enjoy your DH
along the way.

Hey Lynn. . . . . . .
Hope you didn't over do it in the yard today. :workout:
Doesn't it feel good to get it done though and have
those muscles ache. Well, maybe not. ;)

Yes, I'm on my way up that hill too. I will be 44 in July.
I still don't think of myself as "OLD" but my kids do.
Then I talk about a patient thats like 86 and they are
like, man, that is old!! I'm a little less than HALF of that!!

Is EVERYONE picking on you GARY??
Well, what will you do about it?? Well, how did your
physical go? Can those ever really go well???

Hey Mary! So you will be the Big FIVE O in
September huh??? Just keep walking up that hill and
marching down that scale. :goodscale So sorry about
DH and the swelling! He must have done a really good
job of messing it up!! Prayers!!!

Michele . . .
sorry you are feeling badly! Prayers going up for you! Have
you talked with Eric? Hope this finds you
feeling all better! :bubbles:

WELCOME CHRISTY!!!!
I hope you like it and stay around here. These folks are the
GREATEST!!! You have a major gap just like me. I have two
daughters - 17 (18 in June) and 8. Is your household as
crazy as mine?

HAVE A GREAT EVENING!!!!

Wednesday Dieter's Devotional

This is today's devotional found at www.crosswalk.com

APril 20

Ephesians 5:15-16
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools,
but as wise, Redeeming the time,
because the days are evil.

A friend of mine always said, 'If we would only spend time doing what
we know we should, there wouldn't be any time left over to do the things
we know we shouldn't.'
Simple truth, but hard truth to follow. When we
diet, it is helpful to engage in activities
that will prevent us from
having the time to eat or even think about food.
One person I knew
joined a number of volunteer organizations,
just so he would be too busy to
eat all the time. We need to redeem the time
that we spend in fattening
endeavors, and turn instead to activities
that are pleasing to God.

Today's thought:
The busier I keep myself, the thinner I get!

Have you ever told a white lie?
You are going to love this especially all the ladies
who bake for church events.

*~*~*

Alice was to bake a cake for the church ladies' group
bake sale, but she forgot to do it until the last minute.

She baked an angel food cake and when she took it from the oven, the
center had dropped flat.

She said, "Oh dear, there's no time to bake another cake." So, she looked
around the house for something to build up the center of the cake. Alice
found it in the bathroom ... a roll of toilet paper.
She plunked it in and covered it with icing.

The finished product looked beautiful, so she rushed it to the church.

Before she left the house, Alice had given her daughter some money
and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened,
and to buy that cake and bring it home.

When the daughter arrived at the sale, the attractive cake had
already been sold. Alice was beside herself.

The next day, Alice was invited to a friend's home where two tables
of bridge were to be played that afternoon.

After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off, the cake in
question was presented for dessert.

Alice saw the cake, she started to get out of her chair to rush into
the kitchen to tell her hostess all about it, but before she could get
to her feet, one of the other ladies said, "What a beautiful cake!"

Alice sat back in her chair when she heard the hostess
(who was a prominent church member) say .
"Thank you, I baked it myself."

 This is just too cute ~ had to post it!

Andrea!

Ignore that man (EZmoney) behind the curtain

Sooooo you are getting Married next June :smug: To begin with... Congrats on your recent engagement!! :cloud9: How exciting!!! How long have you known one another? What is his first name?

May I? I think that if you remember to take "baby steps" as you pass though your day (getting through... moment-by-moment) and not think of the "whole" of it all, YOU WILL get that weight off by next June with no problem. If you think anything like I do when it comes to losing wt... it overwhelms you at the thought of losing that much, but if you just take one day at a time, one moment at a time, making good decisions - not only will you lose the weight, but you will gain self confidence and a self esteem - what a bonus :flow1: Baby steps... I have to tell myself that as each day passes ~ as I take my 3 mile walks in the morning and see no wt-loss (since 12-04) that it's okay :) I WILL eventually! :crossed: As long as I continue to make better food choices and continue to exercise. I am healthier :df:

I think I wrote all that more for ME then you  You will do well, Andrea... just take it in small steps making small goals to meet each day - whether it's with food or exercise choices. Do it FOR YOU and not the wedding day, otherwise it will fill you with anxiety & slow you down... you CAN do it :D And even if you only lose 1/2 the wt... that 1/2 less then you were :smug:

Okay... I am all done  :coach: Sunny is finished for the day

Be quiet Gary! :dz: I hear your brain...

Again... Welcome!
We do hope you will stop in again :bubbles:

*God Bless*
