Tgif Ladies
HEY GALS
Hope everyone is off to a great start for the week-end. Had another short day at work today..lovin' that...extra time to play with those :chin: sweet :chin: PUPPIES  and forget about taking a little nap in the living room in my recliner, that REBA just chases any "sparkle" thing...absolutely every reflection from cars, glasses, etc. RYLEE just looks at her like she's crazy...pretty sure she is, but ya just gotta love her! She was getting so worked up chasing shadows and sparkles that were showing up from the TV under the coffee table that we had to put my RAIDERS (YES!!) blanket over it to hide the underneath...RYLEE found out that that was a good place to hide from REBA 'cause REBA is too chicken to go under the blanket..now it's just RYLEE'S little tent. WELCOME ANGIE!! Same name as my wife!! Cool....we live by Camp Pendelton in Southern California...I also spent 3 years of my life...4yrs. old, 2nd and 3rd grade and part of 4th in Yuma....my dad was in construction so we bounced back and forth from San Diego to Yuma following the work. Stick around...there are a lot of cool ladies here...not sure about the guy though ;) he might/is a little whacked  MICHELE Checked out the Alpha site..cool...there is actually a mtg. about 2 miles from me at a Salvation Army...pretty sure I won't ever go but it does look like a great place! We have plenty of opportunities at our church for bible studies which is great. Love the Honda civic...Angie has a 2002 (?) I think...or 1...heck I forget and she isn't home to ask, my daughter had an 80 something Honda civic that my niece is driving now, great little cars. WILMA Stop buy when you feel better...someone is gonna have to pick up the slack, I see Martha just turned herself in for the 5 months jail time! Get ready to roll girl!! Now is your time ;) BUNNA Ah Bunna..sure I'll wash your car..ya know if you lived on the other side of the mountains you could just leave it out in the rain! Hope there is good news on that knee. Glad to see your pops is doing better...I used to play cribbage back in jr. high with my buddies...don't remember now how to do it. Well all the rest of you have a great week-end and check in when you can! |

September 18 2004 dieters devotions
September 18
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised). Kelly believed God would help her. At least, she wanted to believe that God would help. Sometimes she wasn't so sure. She'd begin to doubt, then fear would set in, and she'd comfort herself with a bowl of ice cream or a chocolate bar. Then she'd get mad at herself, she'd pray for help once more, and the whole cycle would start again. If only she could stay convinced that God was with her to give her strength. Kelly knew it wasn't God's fault that she kept giving in. It was her own wavering. Perhaps Kelly's prayer should have been for strength of faith, rather than strength of diet will-power. Today's thought: I don't think God will help me lose weight; I know it! |
http://photobucket.com/albums/v242/S...7/th_Fall1.gif Hi Gang! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/wow.gif !!! Looks like we have some New People here again.. nice to see :) *Welcome* Angie and LakeGirl!!! So nice to meet you both --- we all look forward to getting to know you also. Do come back, so many pop-in and then don't stay  *~*~* It's been a busy few days here in our little home... let's see... ... Monday ~ Joe took off and we took the jeep in to be repaired (brakes went) and then when Joe and I got home he ended up repairing and cleaning out my gas dryer & then took apart my leaky faucet and fixed that. And I spent the day catching up with laundry and cleaning... we also did a bit of fun shopping. Tuesday ~ Joe went back to work, but I was still folding clothes and cleaning. Then I got a visit from my friends oldest daughter, Sandy. That was so nice... it had been a long time since she last visited me. Then we had our church practice for our small group from 7 - 9pm. and then I began to feel ill by the time we got home :( Wednesday ~ I didn't feel very well in the morning, but my noon I was doing so much better :) (darn gut anyway!). Lisa (Sandy's sister) came by and picked me up (still no jeep) and we went to see the movie *Cellular* with Kin Basinger - pretty good movie... entertaining anyway. Then we went to have a late lunch together and had a wonderful day. When I got home I had to get allot of book-work to get caught up and almost finished. Thursday ~ Joe took the day off again and we spent the whole day HOME!!! So nice! We got allot of little chores done that we really had been putting off - boy, that sure felt good! Made some phone calls ( Ins. Companies - you know... them kinda calls - yuk! :p but they had to be made ) Joe replace my broken toilet seat with a new one :D and he finished the kitchen faucet that he started on Monday ( it works so well now & looks so nice even though it's old :) ) So that was the whole day --- just doing stuff that needed to be done, but to many things to mention it all --- we even had time to enjoy an afternoon nap with our kitties :D It's also the day we began to really watch Ivan on the weather channel... we were so concerned for everyone!! In Florida, Alabama, the Carolina's & on up the East Coast. We even got hit pretty hard on Friday with high winds and rains! But it didn't last --- it is beautiful today and will be again tomorrow. Never even knew there was a storm ~ we feel very blessed! So many lost so much from this storm and now there's another on it's way... those poor people in Florida!!! Friday ~ I spent the morning paying bill's and preparing for the shock ($$$) of paying the mechanic for the jeep when it was ready. We finally went to pick up the jeep at around 4:00pm and there were allot of repairs to be done --- it was really in bad shape according to our mechanic... mostly salt damage for the last three winters we've had here. Nothing Joe could have done short of taking the car to a car wash 3 - 4x's a week (not!). We had new everything put on! A whole new brake system --- $786.00 later :o But that's okay... We feel allot safer now. Today ~ It's sunny with clear blue skies, 70* and a blustery day here in Ohio... Just beautiful!!! We went to breakfast this morning with our pals, Mike & Peg, and then went to grocery shop. I also got a corn stalk and a bale of hay to put near our front steps for the Fall... soon we will be getting a few pumpkins to add to our Fall decorations outdoors (it's way too early right now for buying pumpkins & having them last till the end of Oct.). So much fun to do! Right now Joe is napping in his birthday hammock on the porch with his buddy, Zeppe, and I thought I would try to catch up here...*try* :^: Ohhh, almost forgot... :o tomorrow after church we are going to a place for breakfast called *Nifty Fifties* in Madison, Ohio :cp: It's a restaurant that serves breakfast with a fifties decor, playing fifties music --- I cannot wait to go there!!!! We will be going with our pals, Mike & Peg... did I say that I can't wait to go :D I just love the fifties!!! *~*~* Angel is doing okay... I sent her a PM to let her know we were praying for her. And here is part of her response to me, just so you all know what happened. Quote:
Now to catch up with you all ;) To be continued... <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
I'm back...
Now to try and catch up with you all a bit here... ;) Wilma ~ Always so good to see you! Sounds like that kitchen floor is like new now - with all that scrubbing!!! :D Sure don't have to worry about getting in your exercise! Thanks! I did have a nice visit with Sandy.. just much too short. She is so limited with her time, I was blessed to have what I did with her. She is so sweet. So glad to hear that you have been doing well and still OP :goodvibes Come back soon and fill us in on how everything went for the birthday party Sunday, okay. Michele ~ Wasn't that Oprah show the best! I love shows that make you happy and laugh. When she has real serious shows (downer ones) I just cannot watch them... I want to feel that Joy in my life as much as I am able to... so I don't invite that sadness into my home too often. Sometimes they are worthwhile to see, but not always. Her give away shows are still the best!!! I have never seen *Starting Over* --- sorry. Is it good? When is it on? No... I don't have Charlotte's link, but you can get it just by looking back on her posts ;) She has a link at the bottom. If you cannot find it just let me know and when I get a chance I will get it for you, okay. Michele, that is so cool  that you are getting so involved in helping others like that - I will keep you close in prayer. That takes allot of time and energy and I am sure those you help will be so appreciative of it! Bet you are sooo looking forward to Alpha... starts tomorrow ;) I enjoyed watching the video stream on the Alpha site you left --- thanks so much!!!! What a great program! And I am so glad that PT is going so well for you!!!! :grouphug: I just couldn't be happier for you! Gary ~ Joe & I have been using the *Mercy Me* CD you sent to fall asleep with--- we both just love the music! :thanks: again! Window cleaning... we didn't finish --- it began to rain on us!!! So it is something I will try to finish this week, if the weather co-operates with me :D Loves those new windows and cannot wait till we can afford to get them in this place! We are looking for almond or dark brown --- depending what we want to bring out in our home. We will decide when the time comes... Glad to hear that *Back to school night* went so well for you and that Ron is showing that he is growing in his responsibilities... keep positive now ;) MKay ~ How did you do with your jewelry making? Get allot done for those craft fairs?? That home is a great starter home for your DD & her hubby! I hope that everything works out for them!!! Bunna ~ So glad you are feeling better! And that Tom made it home from Alaska safe and sound :goodvibes and that your father is home. WoW! You are doing well going back to P-1 of the SB... good for you! :bravo: As for our brakes ~ Meee tooo! God was sure with us that day :smug: I think you made the right decision about those children... really. That has to be such a relief to finally make it. As for the MIL... you all have my prayers that it all works out well. That can be so stressful, but I have seen many successful families care for their in-laws. *God Bless* you all! Angie ~ I too love that sig picture of yours  cute!!! Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself! Looks like you enjoy animals too! I adore them... my nephew has ferrets and I visit them at the local pet store all the time - love them! Just cannot have them right now. I use to have a pet skunk years ago and they have similar habits to ferrets. She was given to me by a couple who bought her; then didn't want her. What a beautiful pet she was. LakeGirl ~ I have seen you on a couple other threads... welcome to ours :D I do hope you will come back here... we have such a great group here! :bravo: on the loss of 10.5 lbs!!! :cp: SUE!!!! Is it really you???!!! So great to see you again!!! :flow2: I am so sorry to hear about one of your clients being ill! Hope all is better! That camping trip sounded like it was super! I am so glad to hear that you had such a good time!!! They way you described it all --- I felt like I was there too  Love it!! I wanna come next time! Sprout ~ Nice to see you too! :thanks: Miss you SAMI!!!! *~*~* Well everyone... it's wayyyyy past our dinnertime, so I really must be calling it a day here. I hope to be back on Monday. Till then... don't forget to go and Thank our Lord tomorrow for your Blessings ;) * May God Bless you All... Allot :) * <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* |
SUnny~thanks for letting us know about Angellover, i'm glad they are all ok, but wow, sounds like daughter had a lot of damage.
I worked today, went to get catfood (I'm buying Tom a better cat food, the stuff i changed Simba to which is really excellent, although way more expensive) But they are my children and worth it. Then i went to Target and got my exercise ball, and some Green Tea. It takes 2 days to get the ball ready, you have to inflate to 4-6 inches under capacity and then tomorrow i inflate to full capacity and then let it sit 24 hours and then i can use. Oh well, it'll be worth it to do it the right way I guess. I took a long nap this afternoon, got up and had breakfast for dinner and now i'm up. I talked to my Mom tonight who is having a hard time with those shingles, still broke out and painful rash. Tried to talk to her about some supplements to take, but DR. wants to put her on steroids....:( Again, if the dr. says so, she thinks she should and i'm not so sure it's the best thing for her. Alpha tomorrow and John may come with his parents. They are up to watch his house, while he's been in Utah for a Usana convention. I'm curious to see if he'll show up tomorrow night. Hope you are all enjoying this weekend. |
Hi -
Sprout - Devotion is so true- God is always there for us!
Sunny- sounds like you had a very busy week, got alot done. Thanks for up date on Angel- the most important thing is they are all o.k. Mitchy- sorry to hear mom had shingles can be extremely painful. She might want to try the Aveeno oatmeal baths- they help dry them down quickly or at least they did on a for a friend of mine. Going into work late tonight then off most of this week, Hi to everyone else as well, have an awesome day! |
Good Morning My Friends...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...7/AUTUMN13.gif Good Morning Everyone! :) We had such a wonderful weekend!!! The weather is absolutely perfect!!!!! The sun shone, with a strong breeze and the bluest of skies - awesome!! We just couldn't ask for better and it is suppose to be like this through this week --- yeahhhh :cp: And we had a really nice time at the Nifty-Fifties Diner... but it wasn't as I hoped it would be (the service & the food could have been so much better :( ). That's okay, we had fun with our friends anyway! *~*~* Michele ~ Info about Angel... You are welcome! I know how much I worried about Charlotte and her family (praying like crazy for them)! She has had so much happen to her through the years, and has come through it all like a trooper. Every time she gets her head above the waters (so to speak) something else seems to happen to her. I really think the devil tests those of strong spiritual beliefs and Angel is being picked on by him... but she is strong and is being protected by God & a survivor without a doubt! I admire her very much with all that she has had to endure and how she still shows her love for our Lord and others through it all. You too, Michele, you just keep on ticking (like a Timex watch) even after all you have gone through with your physical ailments. I think you are such a good example of what the Lord can do through us when we are open to His Will. Many will benefit from your time given... I bet your parents are so proud of you :) As for spoiling your pets... never!!! I don't think you can ever over-do with spoiling them with good care and good food. After all -- they depend on you and your care for them... right. I buy the best food for them and Feline Pine Litter for my boys and it too is pricey, but so much better for their health. The clumping stuff has a chemical in it that is killing many cats (I read all about it on the breeding sites for pure breads)! They breathe it in and it builds up in their lungs through time, so before I got my two boys I changed the litter to Feline Pine and Domino adjusted fine and my boys haven't known anything different. I am so glad I switched even though it is pricey. I am sure you will be glad you switched foods when you have healthier pets that will live longer, better lives with you ;) I am so sorry to hear about your mother and her on-going battle with shingles. Can't they give her a med. for the shingles, other then steroids, or are is it a virus and meds won's help? I'll will keep her in my prayers, okay. Those steroids are so hard on the body... :( I bet you are anxious about Alpha tonight with John's parents coming and all --- I take it this will be your first meeting ;) Cool... I know you will have a nice evening and I look forward to hearing allllllllllllllllllll about it tomorrow ;) Sue ~ So good to see you pop in... don't work tooooo hard!! Have any more plans to go away on another trip soon? :flow1: *Thinking of you Angel, in prayer* :grouphug: Okay Gary, Wilma, Sami, Bunna, MKay, Sprout, Sherry, DaleMarie, Angie & LakeGirl... *Where are you guys????* *~*~* Hey there gang... ... I just noticed that I reached a *1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY* here on 3fatchicks in August, where did the time go! it has been such a *Joy* getting to know you all this last year and making such great new friends :smug: !!! Catch you all later... Have a wonderful day!!! Luvs, <>< http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...yD57/BAR10.gif |
Good Morning!
I just wanted to come and tell you about the party I put on for my dad. It was a huge success. PTL!! Everyone of his siblings except one came. We had a great time of fellowship. It was so neat to hear the laughter. But, the best gift of all was my dad's reaction. He was so surprised that everyone was there and said he'll never forget this day. I feel so blessed to have been able to do it for him. One sister that was there has estranged herself from the family. My dad hadn't seen her for 10 years. Just seeing her was a gift.
Needless to say my eating has been off this weekend but I am back to my salads for lunches again. I don't have all that much to lose but it doesn't seem to want to leave. I need to figure out what to do to make it want to. Today, after work we have a friend coming over to help us figure out the costs of cabinest for our kitchen. We want to reuse our existing ones but need to add some to fill in the spaces. We are remodelling to make a larger dining area and after yesterday I can see how much it will help. I am so excited to be doing this. I just hope it is within our budget. I wish I could talk to each of you individually but I have to leave for work. Have a super day! |
Hi Wilma! We posted near the same time ;) How WONDERFUL to hear that all went so well for your DF's Birthday Party!!! It is such a great feeling, isn't it, when you hear allot of laughter and kibitzing going on at your party :D And to see your father and his sister together just had to be the best!!!! I am so very happy for you :flow2: I remember how much my FIL enjoyed seeing everyone too. I think that every moment your father got to enjoy at his birthday was ohhhh so cherished. You did such a wonderful thing throwing that party for him! :grouphug: What a great memory for him and for you - a true gift of selflessness! Don't worry about your food program... you did good girl! And you will get back OP this week, I am sure of it. Ohhh Wilma, I am soooooooo excited for you!!! I cannot wait till I am able to get my kitchen redone. Please keep us up to date on all that you must do get this done... and pictures! You must take pictures for yourself - Before & After - and for us ;) You have a Great Day!!! I am so very happy for you!!! :) {{{Hugs}}} <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Hi guys,
Have to be quick, busy day here at the office. Sunny~you are so sweet. You really boosted my ego this a.m.... I'm very fortunate to have wonderful parents and I do think they are proud of me. John and his parents didn't come to Alpha last night. :( But that's OK. We had a WONDERFUL evening! There were quite a few people there, we had 6 full tables for dinner. Very nice people, I was asked to greet people at the door, i also set up the book table, and I passed out some forms. I felt wanted and needed there. We had great food, and everyone seemed to enjoy the evening. Next week i'll have the borrow books out for everyone, I have a lot of set-up to do this week. I'm excited, and think this will be a great Alpha. Oh, the highlight for me, was one of the young girls I prayed with gave a testimony. She's only 13 but I felt like a proud Mom. She did so well. Start the Med-X therapy tonight! i'm happy about it, and tonight I can finally use my yoga ball. I thought maybe we all could post something this week that we are grateful for...... I am grateful today that I have the resources to go to a place like my therapy place. They are really wonderful, they care about health and healing and they are getting me on the right path to improve my health. |
Wilma, how sweet of you to do that for your dear dad. It sounds like you all had a wonderful time. And it's touching that your estranged sister came. I thought it was sweet too how your dad said he'd never forget it. I'm sure he won't.
