Good morning. :coffee: I feel so much better relaxing and getting a great night's sleep. Tom got home from Alaska so everything seems back to normal.

I am starting over Phase I tomorrow and my son will be joining me along with my dh. I have to do some shopping today to get the right foods in the house for all of us. Fortunately, my weight gain is only 3.5 lbs for the last week and a half. I will drinking lots of water today though and start getting flushed out.

Michele, good luck with the meeting tonight.

Sunny, you had a busy fun weekend. So happy that you did not have an accident with those brakes.

And you Gary. I don't know how you keep up with all those schedules. How are the puppies surviving their limited area and not being able to tear up the whole entire yard?

Wilma, would invite you down to do my floors since you have Cinderella sydrome but I am getting new ones in less than a month. It feels so good to accomplish those big cleaning chores.

Sami, in my prayers.

Sue, Sprout, DaleMarie, hope to hear from you all soon.

Back to reality, I will be telling my employee that I cannot adopt her children, sorry but that is too much for me. I just don't want to take on a 1 1/2 yo at 53 yo. I told my dh last night I don't want his mother here either but that got nixed so I will have to put up with her for a little bit. He just wants to give it a try so I told him he will be responsible for taking care of her not me. This is such a huge issue and I don't want to fight with him about it, I am too tired still. I just wonder when he was not even allowed to live in their house why he should take care of her but then God reminds me about forgiveness being an action not just words. She needs to be in assisted care living because even when our kids get moved out into their new home we are a pretty active household.

Gotta get ready for work, will check in later. Hope everyone has a blessed day today.

Sunny, oh, you are right, Charlotte is in AL, i forgot because we haven't heard from her lately. Angellove~you and family are in my prayers.

Sunny, do you still have the link to her website? Maybe there is an update there? I have it at home, but not with me at work, can you post it if you have it?

My interview last night re: the volunteer work went really well. Very nice lady and we had a good discussion. She asked me a lot of what if questions, how do i think i'd handle situations, what's my idea of a group dynamic? I answered truthfully and she said she was really excited because she thought I'd be great in this capacity. There sure is a need in the town I live in (which is disappointing to realize). I start training on the 25th and will do a couple more days to be a facilitator. I would probably have a group once a week. And I'd take phones for the crisis line, but i'm not sure when. I'm so excited about this. :)

Mkay~you made my day.......Thank you sweets!

Mitchypoo 09-16-2004 11:11 AM

Bunna, I'm glad your dad is out of hospital and you are home. You've had so much going on lately. I'm hoping you do something nice for you......you deserve it.

mkay 09-16-2004 11:24 AM

Thursday

Mitchypoo- I think it is wonderful that you have the gift to volunteer in such a delicate area. I'm so nieve (sp) when it comes to people. Even the ones at the Shepards...I trust way toooooo much.

Angel- EEK! I will pray for your safety and home and family/friends.

DH comes home late tonight or in the early hours of Friday. I will have a "code red" at home after work. A code red is...I will be cleaning...quickly! Hee Hee  Get this...I didn't even make my bed yesterday. :o

Did KP duty for Alpha last night. The other classes outnumbered the Alpha class.

My daughter/husband (the newlyweds) bought a house! Yipee...I'm soooo excited. They said there is a testimonial type story behind it (A God thing) and she will tell me later. They are soooo faithful with their tithes/offerings. They are being blessed blessed blessed. Maybe I will take a camera at lunchtime today when I go ck the house out and post a picture.

Day 4 of the progestrone. I can feel a difference in my self. I think I will go to a holostic dr in November (freebie pay check).

Well...back to the grind...grinding what? Not much today!

Later Friends! ;)

Bunnababy 09-16-2004 12:39 PM

Good morning. :coffee:

Prayers for Angelover and for the entire state.

Mkay, your kids must be very excited. Can't wait to see the picture. What is Alpha? We don't have them here I guess.

Mitchy: So glad that you will be able to help with the volunteer work. Not everyone is cut out for that kind of work. My son's theory is that we should have workers who just show up and beat these guys up without any notice so they know how it feels to live in fear of being hit continually. Obviously, that isn't the answer either. I know they preach that it is a sickness but like alcoholism you cannot stop without getting help and abusers rarely ever get help until they get arrested and then they cry "I am sick, I cannot help myself." Sorry but I worked in the public defender's office for 9 years and I have heard it all and when you work that deeply within the system you realize that most of them don't want help they just want to keep doing what works for them and their spouses or children are terrified to leave or in the children's cases they cannot leave. This nation doesn't take abuse seriously enough so I don't waste any of my sympathy on the abuser I save it all for the abused. Sorry I will get off the :soap:

Hope everyone has a great day today. My big plans for the day are to work through lunch, go to the grocery store, then come home cook dinner, and then attend a new Bible study group that is starting.

Hello to Gary, Sami, Sue, Sprout, Wilma and anyone I may have missed. Love you guys with the love of the Lord.

mkay 09-16-2004 01:44 PM

Here's Their House

I also went to the website where the realestate company had pics of the inside. Hee Hee...now I don't have to get there to see it right away.

Thursday

HI GALS

Got off work a little early today so I washed my truck...been doing that a lot since it is new! and still looks good...not like a work truck yet :D

Not much going on here. Had "back to school night" for my nephew night before last, that went well, I enjoy meeting the teachers...it helps to have faces with the names..plus they all explained how to call or e-mail them. I have already had Ron get notes signed that he was being resposible...they really liked that..I found out that there are forms already in the counseling office for that purpose! It really helps having Ron "help himself" to be accountable. So far..so good...but then it is a loooong year

SUNNYD Good to see Joe getting some time off...Prayers for Angel-Lover.

MICHELE Good work on the training! How many do you need to cook for for Alpha? What about spinach or meat lasagna? something you could prepare ahead of time then throw in the oven before the dinner...salad and bread...wa-la..dinner! And as far as leftovers...well Simba and I can handle that ;)

BUNNA I agree with your son! Good choice on the adoption...God doesn't want us to take on more than we can handle...to be honest that sounded a little more than you could handle at "OUR AGE"...now-maybe....if you were 20.....good luck with mil

MKAY Good news for the kids, cute house.

Sprout, Sue, Sami, Wilma, Sherry---hope all is well.

Bunnababy 09-17-2004 01:02 AM

Cute house Mkay. Cannot wait to hear the testimony on it.

Gary, could you come wash my car, and, oh yeah, it needs vacuumed and shined up inside too. :^: Mine isn't very new though '96. I had a 94 Escort wagon that I drove forever but it is now a dedicated delivery car so I have the Buick. It is so not my style but it was free so what can I do (my mil gave it to me when I took care of her a couple of years ago.) Every time I go look at new cars I back out cuz I like not having a car payment. But Saab keeps calling my name. Guess I will wait and see what God says I can have to drive.

My dad played Cribbage with his buddies this morning for about an hour and a half.

See ya in the morning. :coffee:

Good Morning!

Just taking a moment to check in. I'm a little under the weather but am still going to work. I'm also buys getting ready for the BD party on Sunday. Lots of cleaning and shopping to do.

My prayers are also with those in Florida and Alabama. It makes me think my cold winters aren't so bad after all!

Have a great day!

Mitchypoo 09-17-2004 09:40 AM

Sunny! how sweet of you to give us some time with your DH home. But i've been missing you around here.

Mkay~i forgot to tell you earlier what an adorable house that is! I can't wait either to hear the story.

Bunna~I'm with you......I have a 96 Honda Civic and i like it! I like not having a car payment too. And i just got my renewal registration and it's only $39.50 this year! Some of those newer cars are HUNDREDS of dollar a YEAR.. As long as it runs well, gets me from here to there, i'm happy. :)

Went to PT yesterday and they showed me exercises using a yoga ball and it's WONDERFUL!! You can get a full workout with just the ball. I'm getting one this weekend or mailorder (mailorder may be cheaper than target, even w/shipping). And I had good news, i'm ready to start their Med-X program. It's a 3 month program on their specialized machines that help isolate the muscles you need to strengthen. I start Monday. :cb: I'm still amazed how good i've been feeling.....but i'm not complaining either!

Alpha starts Sunday, looking forward to that. And Gary, I don't know when i need to do the food or how many people yet, that's why it's hard to plan, but i like your idea of lasagna and I have my Mom's killer recipe!

Will be a busy day today at work, but i'll try to check in later. You all have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Bunnababy 09-17-2004 12:54 PM

Hope you get to feeling better really soon Wilma. It's so fun planning for parties. :dizzy:

Mitchy: What is Alpha? Keeping the meal simple makes it much less stressful cooking for a group. Lasagna sounds yummy. :)

I did fine the first day back on PI. I also realized I wasn't drinking enough water while I was gone so I dropped 2 lbs right away, water I am sure. Today I get my knee checked out so may be able to return to the gym.

Talk to you all later tonight. Have a great day. ;)

Mitchypoo 09-17-2004 03:42 PM

Bunna, Alpha is a Christian program that was started in the UK and now getting popular in the US. It's for anyone who wants to understand what being a Christian means, or to deepen their faith. I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but it's changed my life. Check them out at www.alphana.org. They have a zip code search where you can see where it's offered in your area. Glad you are doing well on PI. It's hard to start over sometimes, but you reminded me to drink my water! ;) Thanks!

Angie-Wangie 09-17-2004 04:26 PM

Newbie!!

Hi Everyone! My name is Angie and I am a 37 year old mother of two daughters and 5 ferrets!! :) My husband, Dean, is back in college working on his Masters to become a teacher and I am a programmer for a Health insurance company here in PA. I found this group and hope you don't mind if I join in!

My highest known weight was about 315 back in 1998. I am now down to 195 (I am 5'11") and not so far from goal. :) The last 40 lbs. I lost doing Weight Watchers and I have been doing this plan since January and love it.

I have been a Christian for as long as I can remember, but have gotten 'serious' about it in the last couple of years. One proud moment I will always cherish is when my daughter and I were baptized together. I have also recently found Christian music that I like. I am from the 80's and have to admit that heavy metal was my thing and never liked Christian music because it always sounded "hokey". Well, I don't know if it is me getting older or just having a more open mind/heart but I have found that the music has gotten lots better and I am not ashamed to blast it...LOL

As I quickly read through some of the posts I can see I have some common areas with some of you. I, too, lived in Yuma for a couple of years as my father was a Marine. We were also stationed in 29 Palms, California...but we are a Southern family that hails from Texas. Also, for a few years I was a bingo caller :) so I very well know all about those 'spats'....in fact I once had an elderly lady curse me with death! I figure it will work one day! :):)

The Lord works in my life everyday. I am thankful I found this group!!

Mitchypoo 09-17-2004 05:28 PM

Welcome Angie!!!
You are most welcome to join us! I love your signature, what a cute graphic and woohoo :cb: on your success so far! Way to go. I'm also from So. California, but have lived in MN for over 4 years now. How'd you end up in PA? I hope we hear more from you. (Just a suggestion, but there is a way under USER CP to subscribe to this forum and it'll email you when anyone posts) Sunny can probably explain it better but i wanted to mention because some new-comers sometimes don't come back and i think that might be why...they don't know how to find us again. Anyways, welcome!
