*CHARLOTTE* Wishing you and Dear Hubby of 36 Years a Belated *HAPPY ANNIVERSARY* With Bunches of {{{Hugs}}} :sunny: SunnyD <>< http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/pat/anniversary1.JPG |
http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/chaz/hello/hello7.GIF *MARY* Are you feeling better? Did you ever find what you were looking for at the garage sales? I use to go all the time to garage sales when my girlfriend didn't work - not anymore since she works full time now... I miss going. I just got back to Curves this morning --- have you gone since you joined, Mary? I know you weren't feeling well. I'll be going again on Friday morning. I also got two new exercise DvD's... *Tae-Bo* and *Walking Away the Pounds* I haven't looked at them yet, but will tomorrow. Just thought I needed to add some exercise to see this weight come off a bit faster then it is. I think that it is so great that your hubby volunteers his time like that :cp: - my friends hubby does the same thing, he's a plumber and has offered his time for free when needed. When is Rachel's Wedding Day? I have forgotten... again. *MICHELE* I think it's wonderful that you found a place to exercise and what a great price!!! Are you enjoying it?? You just sound so happy!!! I am so happy for you! Thank you so much for noticing my wt-loss ~ that's why I just keep the graph - to log it there rather then mentioning it each time ;) But now (as Mary mentioned happens to her) I seem to be "stuck"! It just doesn't come off fast enough for me some days. I did go back to Curves this morning after not going for 2 1/2 weeks :o I really did miss going. I kept up my walking, but missed going to Curves. I could feel that I am still not quite up-to-par yet, but I am doing much better everyday. I guess I got a pretty bad infection this last time around. Thanks ;) I saw the Hearts on another thread and found out how to do it for ours :D I like it too! Did you get the plants you were thinking of getting? The Clematis & Chili plants??? I have a Clematis and love it! How did things go with you & John tonight... it was tonight? I heard that *Shrek* is a great movie! *GARY* Sorry to hear about your Lakers --- you are too funny! I have been through allot of earthquakes. I lived in 29Palms, Ca. remember ;) I use to watch our bunkbed's walk across the floor during earthquakes  We also have experienced them here in OHIO! The larges here was 7.2 - that was big enough for me :D And now we are getting so much rain - I have been looking for the ARC! :lol3: So you are going to Virginia next week? Were you going to visit someone or just for vacation? It does get mighty humid there. I lived in Quantico, VA. Did you get the fence all painted? How are the pups these days? Still digging? *SUE* That trip is getting closer and closer!! Are you getting excited or what?!!!? I know I would be. Yep... crummy weather here these days. But they are calling for dry weather on Friday and Sat... that's to be seen :dizzy: *CHARLOTTE* I am so very sorry that so much seems to be happening to you and just not letting up... I know it just has to be working on you. I do understand what you mean when you say that you feel like you have lost that *happy person* inside you (believe it or not - I have been there - it was after the car accident and the loss of my baby girl)... but you can get her back. Just have to see all the good you have around you and focus on that. I still have to remind myself of that --- not to let the devil  steal my JOY. Don't let him  steal yours... okay. Huge {{{Hugs}}} *McKENNA* How's your lower back coming along? feeling any better? Did you get to a Dr.? Did you try the Dr. Phil Link I left you, McKenna? Just wondered if it helped you at all. *SAMI* How's that new store coming along? I sure do hope they aren't still over-working you! Did you ever get a day to yourself!!!??? You so need to speak up for yourself and get some rest, Sami. If you don't take care of you - who will? You concern me sometimes... ;) Looks like my plant will live  --- I got some rooting powder and it is working. The last storm took allot of branches off our Oak Tree - I am so ready for these storms to be over! We have had one after another and so much flooding in many areas of Ohio. We are blessed to say we are NOT in a flood area. The first day of summer is JUNE 22nd - come on Summer! Hey there *SPROUT* Thanks for the readings and such... I hope you don't mind, but I copied & posted one of them to help out someone who was feeling like giving up & she really felt it helped - thanks again ;) Well, gang I really must be going - the boys are bugging me to death to feed them. *HELLO'S* to all our MIA's! SHERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Want us to beg!!!????????? We are begging... "COME BACK!" Later... Luvs, :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Good Evening!
Another busy week! Between work and groceries, etc. I feel like I don't have alot of spare time.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It made my day! I weighed in at Curves this a.m. and was down just about 1/2 a pound. I'm glad it's down and not up!! I'm retaining water for some reason so I'm hoping by next week I'll show a larger loss. I'll keep on doing what I have been and see what happens. Sunny: Thanks for the card! It's beautiful! I wanted to let you know that I love Walk Away the Pounds. I don't do them much right now because the TV is near where my guys sleep and I want to exercise too early for them. I plan on getting a DVD player for the main floor and then they'll have to put up with my stomping instead of the music. I wonder what they would prefer. Spout: I really appreciate the devotionals. Thanks so much! Angel-lover: I'm so sorry that things are piling up on you so much. I will pray for you. Just remember that God doesn't give us more than HE thinks we can handle. We are here for you. Please vent whenever you want. mkay: Have fun with the wedding decorations. I guess I have that to look forward to sometime in the future too. GAry: How could I not forgive you with all that fanfare!! Thanks for the birthday greetings. You are the same age as my DH. He married a much younger woman!! Well, I better get going here. Have a great evening! |
Puppy Schooled....out!!!!!!!!!!!
HI GALS
Got home from puppy school a little while ago. Didn't go last week and wouldn't ya know it Reba "forgot" how to do basic things like sit, heal, down, etc. She was too busy wanting to check out all the other dogs around her...I was sooo embarresed :o Angie traded the good dog of the day Rylee with me about half way through...she had a little better success than I did but then she is a meanie  Son was called from the high school to teach algebra for summer school, pretty good considering he won't be taking the credential program until the fall and he is a history major. He was also asked at work this week to take on the assistant manager job at his sporting goods store, his assistant manager went to another store in the chain to be a manager...from $35,000 a year to MARILYN $60,000 overnight!! Great for the kid..he is 24 and a good friend of my son's. It is not the first time my son has been asked to manage, he just can't with school and coaching. I asked him "didn't you tell them you are still going to school?" he said they didn't care, did you tell them we are going on vacation for 2 weeks? they didn't care...problem solved if he teaches summer school. Daughter has been around a bunch lately...boyfriend must be busy  Actually I saw the bum...(ONLY KIDDING!!!) today, he took my nephew up to play tennis for several hours. She has been working on her Creative Memories scrapbook for her first 3 college years. She started her internship for school with the Navy..I mentioned it before that she was accepted (not in the Navy...but to work with them in research) for school credit, but then it was going to fit in her school schedule, they are working it out with her somehow for the summer. Step-daughter been here more since Angie is home for the summer, but she is still gone with summer school and soccer practice. Ron has been a big help for his uncle Gary...I made him the official POOP CAPTAIN for RYLEE and REBA...and boy has he been busy  I took him to work with me yesterday in the afternoon and he earned $20 stocking sheetrock with me...every Sunday I ask him where is his tithe and he hasn't had any money left...he was confirmed a few weeks back, got his envelopes for tithing...put in his 10% from all his confirmation and graduation gifts..BUT.. by the time Sunday came around he had emptied his envelopes  on junk stuff!! Go figure...what other 13 year old would do that ;) SAMI Sorry work AS USUAL has been hard on you...that is what you get for being so good at your job!!! Are the kids out for summer? Have you been hit with the rain? How was the INDY this year? We missed it with confirmation for Ron..I know it was short for the rain. SUE Hey girl don't lighten your load cause I won't be there...use your female persuasion to get some good looking guy to carry your bags ;) And then you have ANOTHER vacation when you get back? No wonder you work 24-7!! MARILYN How many miles??? That boy doing OK still? and your daughter still walking with you? Thanks for the devotions. MARYK I always wanted another lab...black though...your Nikki must be way cool! Our Reba is 42 pounds and Rylee is 28..tiny compared to yours. How old is your daughter that is getting married? Sounds like you have had a "normal" life too  Just like the rest of us. I do all the drywall at church that is needed..my trade..over 20 years at my congregation...many classrooms etc. We are actually building 2 more classrooms this summer. Part of our tithe...money, time and talents! WILMA WHAT..NO COMPANY??? Kidding...surely you have some. Glad to see 00 on the gain for you...remember how much better you feel with Curves now!! It isn't all about weight loss!! Glad to see the 'ol man (my age!) springing for another year of fitness for you!! If i remember right he put up a little resistance before he bought you the gift last year...but with my memory I sure could be wrong!! How are those boys doing!! MICHELE Who are you trying to kid Knucklehead? you sound just like me!! Of course you want it to be a date with John...you just don't want to admit it in case it doesn't work out!!! Experience speaking here...you just go for it girl..if it doesn't work out scratch him off the list and keep on looking dear!! Your knight in not so shining armor...but wonderful!!...willl come along soon!! Ink in the pool huh...here the kids have been putting soap in the pools and fountains...lots and lots of :bubbles: :bubbles: :bubbles: SHERRY Hope all is well!! Prayers!! CHARLOTTE I subscribe to Guideposts and Angels On Earth magazine..here is my MUCH BELATED Anniversary gift to you..www.angelsonearth.com, they will take your prayer requests...with them and us...OH YEA and GOD...well goood things will be coming your way!! I just know it!!! Prayers! DONNA Yes we rocked and rolled around here yesterday afternoon with a 5.2..nothing major but it has been awhile since we have had a big one..one is predicted before September though..hope I am in Virginia by then. We are going July 3rd through July 17th and are staying in Spotsylvania for a week then Williamsburg for a week. Hopefully alot of Civil War and Colonial stufff.. have a reservation for a tavern for July 11...my daughter's 21st birthday...she doesn't drink but her step-mom, brother and I will have one for her to celebrate. If anyone knows the area feel free to share what we should or shouldn't see...have Busch Gardens passes already. My daughter is painting the fence...awful slow...she doesn't hurry (STEADY) at anything..for $$$$...with the Navy internship thing she wasn't able to apply for a summer job...so she is working for me in-between the internship. Hopw your beautiful plants don't get too rained out! Give Joe lots of lovin'!! for being such a sweet guy. Later, In Christ-- Gary |
Still Trying to Wake Up!
EZ
I remember puppy school with Nikki (by the way, we dropped out). She was the ONLY one that wanted to just play with all the other dogs. I would leave soooooo frustrated...but now? We get her to talk "in sentences." Cool about your son and teaching. Rachel is 21 and Matt is 20 and are about to be married this Saturday.  SUE Where are you going on vacation? SAMI What store in IN? Too much work...must chill. Marilyn Devotions are lovely and I need them. Wilma Curves? I will be going back when we get back from Arkansas. SunnyD I have the Walking Away the Pounds; 2 & 3 mile versions. I really do like them after I dust them off. :o Rachel's wedding is Saturday...I am still working on the table decorations. The time and cost involved is way more than I ever imagined. I'll get them done probably Friday sometime. Angel-Lover Still raining? Michelle John? Movie? Lunch? Today is my last day at work until the 28th. :dancer: :cp: :cheer: Tomorrow I will be at "my" church decorating (that is where the reception is being held). The wedding is at Rachel's church. The pastor there will be giving an alter call after the wedding. Cool. Maybe some silent prayers so the Holy Spirit pricks some hearts that day. Well, must be getting to work...lots to do today before I can leave. I hope to get back to this thread soon. Down in AR, my SIL has a computer so I will try to play a little. Also, while I'm there, I'm going to regroup my thoughts, plan of action, etc. so that when I return, I can apply the life changes that I need to do. Bless all of you! :grouphug: MaryKay |
Dieters devotions for June 17, 2004
June 17
Psalm 42:11 Why are thou cast down, O my soul? and why are thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Our society would have us believe that the person who tries to do something is a failure unless he or she succeeds. Very little honor is awarded the person who gives it her best shot but falls short of the goal. How sad, for it is the person who does her very best who pleases God the most. When we decide to diet and we try to be as faithful to it as we can be, then we are victors in the eyes of the Lord. We need never grow discouraged when we don't lose weight, as long as we are doing the best job we can. Today's thought: I judge myself harder than God does! |
checking in
Have been posting the devotions and reading all the posts but not posting much - have been feeling sick for some time now so have not been up to doing much.
As mentioned have been sick for about 3 weeks now - and to top it off I have GAINED :( like 7 pounds in this time!!! Now that I am starting to feel a bit better will have to work harder to get these pounds off. I am at the highest level in obesity and it is scary - doctor really put a scare into me last week when he mentioned this. I need to make a complete turn around in the eating department - am just consuming more than I need to. About son. Well we have connected with a child mental health counselor (she has had over 20 years experience with kids such as him). She has had one 2 hour visit with us and one visit with him (1 hour) - she called yesterday to tell me that she has ordered an IQ test to be done but because he is homeschooled the school district will not pay for it and it costs $500.00. So she has applied for aid from social services - hoping they will come up with the money as it would be hard for us to come up with it. She wants to get this done as soon as possible so that we can also apply to the childrens hospital for further assements and there is waiting list of 18 - 24 months to get him there - will get him in just under the wire of age 19. We talked again a little about having the behavior analized as that is where we see the problem. She said that the talk she had with him was great but she did notice that he answered some of her questions with things he thought she wanted to hear - a sign of not maturing. I am so glad to have someone that understands where we are coming from and can not be bluffed by a child that is articulate but can see beneath the surface. But there is hope - we are going in the right direction - getting down to what the problems are and then finding the necessary services out there for him. The counselor told me to be prepared that he will come out as mentally challenged - borderline - which means that he won't really fit in with the 'normal' and won't fit in with the 'challenged' - I told her that was my concern and told her that it would be better for him to be way over one way or the other rather than borderline. She agreed - says she knows a number of kids / young adults that are borderline and that it is sad to see that they really don't fit in anywhere - need enough supervision that their 'peers' think they are 'stupid' and yet are to 'smart' for the other group. Daugher - she is doing really well. Still walks with me and has been exercising at home with me too (mind you I haven't been doing much for the last few weeks because of being ill). But we do it together and it is great. She also has to lose weight to we are doing this together also. She is now learning to read by using phonics. YEAH!!!!!! She has a lot of sight words but I have found an excellent phonics program and she just loves it. So she is now sounding out lots of words. It is a delight to listen and watch her learn - when that light goes on boy does it shine!!!! Well, it is a very nice sunny day out there - have gone for a walk at the rec plex this morning but think this afternoon will get hubby and daughter to go for a walk with me outside - while son is left to do some summer school work. Thinking of all of you - bless you all - and praying that you are making healthy changes with respect to your food so that weight can come off once and for all. |
Hi guys!
Marilyn~sorry you have been not feeling well. I hope you are well soon. Gary~well, ya, it'd be great if he wanted to date, but i'm really happy to know him. I did not call John to go see Shrek because i wasn't feeling well. I went to go swimming after work but there was a gob of kids and i didn't feel like swimming around them. And I was REALLY hurting. I then had a bad night, lot's of pain, woke up at 3:30, partly because Simba had to potty. Then i was restless the rest of the morning. Almost didn't go to work, but figured if i made it in, i'd be ok. Feel a little better being here now, but i'm still in pain. Sometimes I notice subtle changes and it's better, but i'm tired of the pain. Going to visit Mabel, the lady i went to Des Moines with this Sat. afternoon after work. Going to check out her friend....did i tell you all about the guy who mooches off her? Leaving work a little early today to go for massage, maybe she can give me some relief. |
http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/frie...es/rainbow.GIF *WILMA* You are so very Welcome! 1/2 lb is a 1/2 lb! :cp: I am losing it very slowly as well, but I look at it this way... it's going down not up ;) Keep up the great job, Wilma. The DvD *WATP* is really nice - you can go to the section you want at any time quickly - unlike the VHS format that takes forever to rewind or move forward. I have the 1 Mile / 2 Mile & 3 Mile packaged set... got it at Target for only $20.00 :D *GARY* I wonder why we never heard of your earthquake on the news or the weather channel??? Anything over 5 is usually reported  Oh... no worries there, he gets lovin' --- and Joe takes such good care of me, I must say I am spoiled with his love for me. We will be celebrating 29 years together this Monday - June 21st and he turns 51 on the 25th a week from tomorrow. He is taking both of those days off so we can spend time together. It is going to be hot when you go to Virginia, especially when you plan on going in July, but allot of activities WILL be going on there at that time - especially in Williamsburg. Joe & I have been there, but it's been years since we last went. I know you will enjoy it there, we sure did. They have reenactments, music of that time being played & great homes to go through --- not to mention the good food ;) You all will have a good time there. Here is a Link to Williamsburg, VA... http://www.history.org/visit/ Enjoy! I just love, love, love your puppy stories!! They sure do give you something to talk about - don't they  You don't sound PROUD of your children... ... nope - not at all  :D They sound like children to be proud of, Gary. You dune good by them and it shows. How is SD doing with her eating problems? Better? Poor Ron!!!!!!!!!!!!! POOP CAPT... now that's an honor --- NOT!!!! :faint: But I think that it's wonderful that he goes to work with you - my BIL took his sons (he has 5 boys) with him allot during the summer when they were young to keep them busy (& out of trouble), now one of them works with him in the trade (he is a painter & also does wall-paper "Autumn Painting") and is now making it a living also. One out of five ain't bad in following pops footsteps... the oldest is an Investment Broker (makes allot of $$$), #2 son works in a Hair Solon, # 3 son has Downs Syndrome and works folding towels in the nearest hotel, # 4 son is the one following in his father's trade & #5 son is going to school at Case & still has 3 yrs to go (Computers - he is the one who taught me ;) ). They are all great kids! *MARY* This SATURDAY :o Goodness... I hope you get everything done that you needed to finish up and are able to enjoy the day. *Luck!* Don't cry... you know what they say, "You haven't lost a daughter --- you have gained a SON" ;) Where are they going for their Honeymoon? I wish them both well & send them my *BEST WISHES* in their new lives together! *SPROUT* I too am sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well. I do hope that you are able to get back into life again real soon --- feel better :grouphug: You children sound like they are doing well and DS is well on his way to getting the help he needs. Continued *Prayers* for him and for you as well. You too *MICHELE* *Prayers* that you feel better soon! *~*~* The skies have finally cleared here, but I am still waiting for the humidity to ease up so I am able to open up the house. It has been stifling out there the last few days and I want to open the house up so badly. I miss the sounds of the birds... I go out and sit on my porch to read or work in the yard for a bit, but it's not long before I have to come back in - it's that bad out there! Very hard to breathe. I hope it clears like they say it's gonna tomorrow and on Sat. Time for me to get dinner started... Joe has to be places tonight - so he'll be home early and I have to have dinner ready so he can eat and run. Later... :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Hi!
No time to post everyone, but wanted to let sprout know you are in my prayers as well as your family.
Mitchy- Hope your soon pain free, you've had it rough with that. M-kay Where? Alaska from June 24th to July 17th, Then South Jersey on a missions trip with my youth group from July 23rd- July 31st. Then to Hawaii in Nov. E.Z. Thanks Have a good time! Gotta run, and do the bullitin, pastor likes it on Thurs. and then dye the grey from these blond tresses, if I can  then I am making salad for a picnic tom. See ya! |
Seek God Too often we spend all of our time seeking God for answers to our problems when what we should be doing is just seeking God. We are not to seek God's presents, but His presence. ****** But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. -Matthew 6:33 AMP Hi all! Went for massage last night and i literally just cried, i was in constant pain. She wasn't doing typical massage, she was doing energy work and hardly even touching me, she finally worked on my face and for some reason that totally relieved the pain. I don't understand how the body works, but i was greatly to feel some relief. Went this a.m. for an adjustment. Still in a lot of pain, but i'm assured that it WILL get better. I believe it too. Sunny~Happy early Anniversary! Wow 29 years! So you married when you were 12? ;) Mary~Can't wait to hear all about the wedding.... |
Dieters devotions for June 18, 2004
June 18
Mark 13:35 'Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning.' Diets need to be taken one day at a time. Each new day means a new diet. If yesterday's diet didn't work, it doesn't really matter. Whether we diet tomorrow or not doesn't matter, either. What does matter is today. Too often we get caught up thinking about all the things we haven't done or dreaming of all the things we ought to do, and we have no time to actually do the things we have set before us right now. God's people live in the present. They learn from the past and hope for the future, but they make the most of every single moment of every day. Live for today and see the miracles begin. Today's thought: Today's diet will be a success! |
OK, I did it now. I have a check for John for a comparitive guide my Chiro bought from him and I told him I was going to the movies tonight if he wanted to meet me there. He said it sounded like fun. It was actually very cute, he got a little flustered, started saying some stuff, got tongue tied and then told me to forget it, he didn't want to sound like an idiot savant.......so we'll just meet? and i said, ya. Was really cute. It means he is interested or i just threw him for a loop? Tell you later how it goes.

http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/friends/angels/harm.GIF Good Morning *MICHELE* I am so very sorry to hear that your still not feeling better - Ohhh, the pain you must be in! I do hope that the chiro is right and that you will soon be feeling much better!! :grouphug: Sending you goodvibes :goodvibes Thank you so much for your Anniversary Wishes... noooo, I wasn't 12, but close  I had just turned 18 when we married ;) Joe is taking the day off, but it looks like a rainy Monday for us, so we are planning to catch a couple movies out and then we are meeting our best buds, Mike & Peggy for dinner out that evening. If it gets nice we plan on spending some time at the park - just enjoying outdoor time together and walking... I just really need to get out more, so when this weather is nice - we are outside! In fact, I'll be going out in our gardens to weed & trim just as soon as I finish breakfast. Joe got called out and will be going to work for a couple hours this morning :( but he'll be home in no time :) Thank you again for the Anniversary Wishes ;) I do hope that things are flowing as you hope with John - I sure would hate for you to get hurt again. John sounds so very sweet, but he has a full plate of emotions still for his wife. At least that is what I have gained from your posts... Time, Michele... time... "All good things come to those who wait" ;) *MARY* Thinking of you and hoping that you got everything done for the wedding and are now beginning to enjoy it all... cannot wait for you to come back and fill us all in!. *~*~* I did get in some walking this week and I went to Curves on Wednesday & on Friday :D  Hope that everyone else is doing well! *God Bless* :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Well my friend at work has had a great time teasing me about my "date" with John, but it was not. I ran into traffic on the way home, had hardly no time to change but HAD to cuz i slopped my lunch on my top. :o I got there in time for the movie, but he was already there and thought he was later than me so went in, but then came out to get me. The movie was really good, we saw The Terminal with Tom Hanks. Really cute, touching, loved it, he liked it too. Then we went outside and talked for awhile, then my cousin and her daughter was there and we visited for a bit. She had gastric bypass about a year ago and i didn't recognize her! Wow, she's thin, John thought almost too thin. But was nice to see her. Then we talked some more and i was home by 10 pm. He is sooooo cute though........he has these brilliant blue puppy dog eyes.......I know Sunny, in God's time. ;) Met my cousin at the Farmer's Market this a.m., got some spinach and lettuce, sugar snap peas (yum!), asparagus and some really beautiful strawberries that i'm going to take to Mabel. My candle lady and the lady who makes the home made salsa weren't there today. :( Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! |
Saturday Morning
HI GALS
It is :rain: here today...can you believe it? It NEVER rains in Southern California...well, OK it is really rain just a heavy mist...gloomy for us...almost ready to break out the blankets...must be..oh, I dunno..about 60 degrees right now ;) The puppys are resting...forgot to tell you that we had them spayed yesterday. I felt so bad for them...they were sooo out of it when Angie and I went to pick them up...doing a little better this morning...keeping them quiet. It helps since the kids aren't home...Ryan off to work (working both jobs now because his schedule was all ready set for two weeks at the sporting goods store when the teaching job came up...Thursday and Friday he left the house at 7 to teach, got home at noon then went to the store and worked from 1 to 9pm) today he just works 9 to 6. Amanda is taking her mom down to see my goddaughter on her Navy ship in San Diego...my ex is godmother. Lara is with her dad for the week-end and Ron is with his mom. Went and got a haircut this morning...takes about 3 minutes to get there...had to wait for 4 minutes cause another guy beat meto the chair first...then Jack cut mine...the usual #3 all the way around...he is slowing down in his old age too...took him 3.5 minutes to get me done...either way I left the house at 7:58 and was back home at 8:15...good for another thousand miles as Jack always says. |
Got Sidetracked
I am back again...had to check on puppies then I went up to Angie's office, she was on her computer so I had her help me do something...don't know if it worked but Donna will!
Still waiting for the sun to come out...I had a dumpster delivered and threw alot of the patio in it (not sure if I mentioned it but we tore our old patio down last week-end) had it dumped and will refill it today. MARYKAY I hope the wedding was a success! Have a great time in Arkansas re-grouping your life thoughts...then come home and TAKE ACTION on those thoughts!!! i know you will! ;) MARILYN Great news for the boy..good to see some help for YOU too! So glad your daughter and you are still doing the walks together..must be fun for her too! SUE Did you get the bulletin finished in time? of course you did!! So your gonna take some maturity out of your hair huh :D I just wish I wasn't losing mine soooo dog garn fast!! How was the salad for the pic-nic? Fruit, veggie? MICHELE Hope the work the chiro did is helping you with your pain. Don't you just love Farmers Markets? Too bad the salsa guy wasn't there..love salsa..Angie makes a mango one that is pretty good...I will have to say though she makes the VERY BEST guacamole! Must be that mexican in her...hey wait a minute...she is half irish and half italian  Sounds like the "DATE!!!" with John went well ;) ;) DONNA Well did ya get it? The PM that is. Hope you and Joe have a great week-end together! Enjoy the time with your friends and your dinner. It is the time of year for the concerts in the park for us here...couldn't go to the first one last night because of the puppies surgery..maybe next week. We love to go but sometimes it is tough on Friday because of schedules...they have all different music choices through out the summer. We take a pic-nic dinner, drinks and chairs and spend about 3 hours for free enjoying the music and people...might be hard this year with the puppies..not sure if we can take them. Thank you for the website! I really appreciate the info on Virginia. Yea I am pretty proud of my kids...they do it all on their own though..no help from me ;) The guy my daughter was working with at the Navy research went to Italy (?) for a few days so he left her in charge of the project they were working on..something to do with research on an old machine/computer for testing ?? anyway he told her if she couldn't or didn't want to do it to just help someone else until he came back..otherwise she was in charge of their little project. Doesn't look good at the moment for her finishing painting my fence without my help ;) Well Donna and Joe angie just came in from yoga and told me she thinks she screwed up on the card she sent from us to you...soooo...if you go to the Jacquie Lawson site...go to the only for your anniversary card...signed, love Gary and Angie...congrats!! Well, gotta go load the dumpster.... SAMI, WILMA and SHERRY I hope all is well!!! |
http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/chaz/thanks/thanks2.GIF Hey there *GARY & ANGIE* Thank you so much for the Anniversary Wishes!! :D I DID get the PM --- but not the card... thanks for trying Angie ;) What I do when I Link a Card... ... is send it to my own e-mail address, but sign it to the person on the thread I want to leave it for before I send it off to my e-mail. Then once I get it in my e-mail box --- I bring the card up and then go up to the top left where the ADDRESS is and then Highlight the address & then Copy it. Then I Paste the link on the post... oh, and you have to make sure you surround it with the [URL] code. I hope this is the answer you were looking for ;) I will go check out the card, Gary ;) Thanks again --- you guys are the best! Joe & I think you two would make a great couple to hang out with. We hope to one day meet you both. We love the concerts in the park - we have them here too, but not for another week yet. I think they begin the last week of June. Here it's every Tuesday evening from 7-10 with a different band each week. Joe & I walk to them... so nice! It's also a time to see neighbors and catch up with everyone. I do hope the weather improves so they are able to start up. Awwwee, your poor babies --- they got fixed --- ouchy. How are they holding up? The lasers they use for surgery now really help in the healing process - it's a faster recovery. I know when I got my boys fixed they told me "now don't let them jump or run" --- yeah... riiiiight! Have you ever been able to hold a cat down from jumping or doing just what they please? Not! Hope you are more successful with your pups. Joe is out mowing the lawn right now, but when he's all done - I'll head back outdoors. It is really beautiful today! A bit too cool, but it's clear and the sun :sunny: is out, so I'm not complaining. It's about time you guys got a bit of rain --- we have had enough here. Glad that you liked the Virginia Site --- thought you might ;) Have a great day today and an even better Sunday! Thanks again for trying to send us a card ;) Luvs, Donna <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
*MICHELE* Your evening with John sounded so pleasant... I am happy for you. Now if you could only get your back pain under control, huh. As far as the Farmer's Market... Joe & I are planning to go on Monday morning here if it's not raining. We love going there! They also have a flea market going across the street from the Farmer's Market we like to check out... so it's allot of fun and we come home with the best produce! Enjoy your visit with your friend today... Time to go outdoors with Joe - he's all done mowing... {{{Hugs}}} SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Hello Friends!
It's been a very relaxing day today. I got up and went shopping this a.m. I found some great deals and all under size 16 no less!! I then had a quick lunch and tidied up the house. Now I'm just waiting for DH to call and I'll go get him from work. Tonight we're going out for dinner to make up for the missed one last week. We ended up selling our riding lawn mower that evening and it didn't work out to go out then so we're going tonight.
Michele: It sounds like you had a great evening with John. I am looking forward to seeing that movie too. Gary: Your poor puppies. I know it's necessary but.... Sounds like your weekend is going well too. About my Curves membership- my DH bought me that membership for my BD last year so it wasn't him that didn't support it. He's also liking the results he's seeing. ;) :o Sunny: Belated Anniversary wishes to you! I hope you and Joe have many more wonderful years together. I've been married to mine for 25 years and it doesn't feel like it at all. mkay: Hurry back and let us know how the wedding went. sprout: My prayers are with you and your family. It isn't easy when one of your kids is hurting and making you hurt. Hopefully he can get assessed and then get something done for him. Hello to Sami, doitforme! Have a great weekend! |
Thanks *WILMA* But our anniversary isn't till this Monday - June 21st - so you aren't late with your wishes ;) Congrats in being under a size 16! I just could not be happier for you - unless it were me  Sounds like you are having a wonderful Saturday so far... I have had a very relaxing one too - it's been really nice to be home all day on a Saturday just puttsin' around the home and gardens. Joe just left for church so I though I would jot take the time for browsing and posting. My Guido just jumped into my lap shivering like crazy - he got a chill. It is only 70* today and that is quite a drop from the 90's we've had. Now I am trying to type with a 15 lb cat in my lap :o :dizzy: So... where are we going for dinner tonight ;) Have a wonderful evening! :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Only Popping In for A Bit
Hey Everyone!!!
The wedding was absoutely wonderful. Very simple yet elegant. Rachel was breathtaking. When she and her dad appeared in sight, the look on Matt's face (her husband) was something I will never forget...it was lit up like the 4th of July. I, on the other hand, am not doing so great. I can't seem to move forward today. The wedding was at 11 this morning and the reception over by 3:30 pm. I was cleaning house by 5:00 p.m. and shopping at Lowes a short while later. I just can't seem to get my feet unstuck from this day. I've done nothing but cry since I've been home. She's young and they're off to Mexico...without anyone else...ugh! I almost feel "jealous" in a sense...they're young, in love and full of energy and have not gone through things that I have and I pray they never do. It's the innocence I guess. We are going through yuk financial right now. Then I think of that young untainted love they have. I talked to her almost every day and now I'm missing her soooooooooooooo much it hurts. I just can't picture them off to Chicago tomorrow and then fly off to Mexico...IT'S TOO FARRRRRRRR away! I think it's the "idea" of everything...ideas are very powerful and you can make them into whatever you want them to be...intense or not so intense. I also think I'm hormonal these days. Always warm and emotional. EEK! See what I mean...old. Well, I think this day is a wash for me mentally/emotionally. Thanks for letting me vent my insides. On another note: I AM DOWN 19 POUNDS!!!!! I ate two pieces of cake today and after not having any refined sugar in at least 4 weeks...I felt yuky yuky yuky...won't be doing that again. Well, Gary is going to work tomorrow so we can have $$$ to deposit in the bank before we leave. We will probably start our vacation sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening. Service tomorrow! Michelle- Way too cool about you/John. Isn't it fun. I love romance. Keep me posted. What is the pain you are in? Sunny- Lots of years...very happy for you and I know you are blessed. Everyone else...thanks for listening and have a blessing filled Sunday! |
*Happy Father's Day!*
http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/cs/f...4theSunHFD.JPG Good SUNDAY Morning! Just stopping in to wish *GARY* and all the other Father's & Hubbies out there a very *HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!* May it be a day to cherish & remember! Luvs, :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Happy Father's Day~Gary!!! I too wish you, Gary, and all the hubbies a wonderful Father's Day! I spoke to my Dad last night, he opened his gift when he got it friday, he couldn't wait! He said he liked his sandals (mom says he's been wearing them ever since) and I told him he couldn't wear them with black socks! ;) And I have to tell you this, I kind of took a chance because my Dad is not what i'd call a man of God. He was raised in the church but doesn't go anymore. But I had it on my heart to give him a bible, i found one that was called an Every Man's Bible and i told him that since he and I have such a passion for books that I thought he should have his own copy of the World's Best Seller. And I told him that my prayer was that he would know how much God loves him, even more than me. He told me he loved the bible and he was going to do the daily readings for now. He also told me that he got his best Father's Day present almost 40 years ago.....it was very sweet of him and touching. He's not very open so i know it was hard for him but i'm happy i gave it to him. I went to Church last night, so i'm staying home today and working around the house if i can. The pain is still really bad. I'm going to try and go swimming later too. Had a nice visit with Mabel yesterday, she took me to a meat market that my family has talked about forever, got some good stuff, and i was going to try homemade pickled herring, but i just couldn't so left it for Mabel. Then she insisted on making dinner, wouldn't let me take her out. She made chicken parmesan and some pasta, i brought some sugar snap peas that we enjoyed with it, and she even went to the bakery to get some dessert, her favorite called mocha cakes, it's white cake rolled in ground peanuts. I didn't get to meet her friend that i was worried about, he was at work. I guess i'm not so worried about it after hearing her talk about him a bit. Mkay, the pain is from my back. I have problems in my neck and my lower back, i was diagnosed with a herniated disc at about age 21, and sometimes it really acts up, i'm now having some nerve damage and this pain is different and really bad. Like a constant ache and cramp in my hamstring and it makes me limp and I have numbness going down my leg and part of my foot. I was up again during the night, but getting up and around, i would almost say it's better today. Afraid to talk too soon. Enjoy your Sunday! |
Dieters devotions for June 20 2004
June 20
Jeremiah 31:16-17 Thus saith the Lord; 'Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded,' saith the Lord; 'and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end,' saith the Lord, 'that thy children shall come again to their own border.' Stephanie looked at the pictures from her wedding day. Had she really ever been that thin? How had the pounds found their way onto her body in such a few short years? She determined that she was going to return to her former figure by the end of the year. As a Christmas present to herself and her family, she was going to be able to wear her wedding dress once again. With a great sense of hope, Stephanie worked toward her goal, and as subtly as the pounds had accumulated, they began to melt away. With the help of the Lord, we can always escape the enemy of fat and return to the land of fitness. Today's thought: God helps me beat the fat foe! |

HI LADIES
Just checking in to say thanks to DONNA and MICHELE for the Father's Day wishes! We went to church last night so Angie took me out for breakfast at our corner cafe, called "THE CORNER CAFE" ;) they have really good food there, a little pricy--$20.00 for a mushroom, spinach and tomatoe omlette with potatoes whole wheat toast and coffee, Angie had sourdough, potatoes and a avocado, tomatoe and spinach omlette and water. The kids got me a new DODGER book and a coffee table book on baseball stadiums! plus Amanda got me a really cool cheese grater from IKEA :) it catches it in a container that you can put a lid on if you don't use it all (like that will ever happen when I make nachos!) The puppies got me a new Jim Brinkman CD..Angie helped them pick it out, guess they wanted something mellow to listen to ;) My daughter is taking a nap, son watching the golf match and Ron at the neighbors, Angie in her office, step-d at her pops and the puppies sleeping..awful quiet around here! Lovin' it :) WILMA- I remember your husband paying for Curves as your gift, I mistakenly thought he originally was putting up a "fight" over the cost of it..as if you didn't need it or would use it thing..SORRY! My memory ain't what it used to be! You'll see when you are my age ;) MARYKAY- Jealous feelings are probably normal, goes along with all the other anxiety feelings, empty nest, etc. This shall pass too... SUNNYD- How was dinner and movies? Enjoy your "JOE" time ;) MICHELE- The Terminal looked like it would be good, glad your pops liked his gift...some guys are just not "LOVYDOVY" guys, doesn't mean they don't care..sounds like he may be up for a nice change though ;) with the devotions! Puppies are way better..can't keep them from wanting to play HARD with each other. Well Angie is making bratwurst for dinner so I better go burn off a few more calories with a POWER NAP  ENJOY YOUR EVENING! |
Sunny-
I've attached a picture of my marilyn monroe rose. I've also attached a picture of Ryan on his first day of teaching summer school. That bottle in his hand is TUMS. He has a VERY nervous stomach :tied: I went to photobucket and uploaded some pictures. Can't figure out what you do to post your pictures into your post. :) Angie |
Good Morning!
Let's try this again! I had a nice long post going yesterday and it disappeared.
I had a wonderful weekend. Went out for dinner on Saturday to the Keg. Then, we decided to go to a late show. We went to see The Terminal which was quite good. (Thanks Michele for the idea!) On Sunday we went to church, then had Father's day dinner here and then just rested and then went for a drive. Very relaxing!! Gary: sounds like you had a great Father's day too. You deserve it!! Michele: I was moved when I read your post about your father. You will treasure what he said to you forever. Let's pray he keeps his promise to read his new Bible. Sunny: Thanks! It's been so long since I've been under a size 16. I was once pushing size 20 so it does feel great. I decided to try on the 13 and 14's and go from there and was surprised that they fit. You sound like you're doing great too. I still haven't got the walking as a habit yet but it is coming!! I think I'll weigh in at Curves on Wednesday. Happy Anniversary today right??!! mkay: It sounds like a lovely wedding. It's also okay to be weepy for a while. You are a mother. I find I even go into a bit of a depression after a holiday like Christmas. The anticipation builds and then after its over there's a let down. Congrats on the weight loss! You're doing great. Well, gotta get going to work. Have a great week, everyone!! |
http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/cs/f...HomeHaveND.JPG Good Morning *ANGIE* Just grabbing a moment on the computer before Joe & I head out for the day today... that rose is absolutely beautiful!!!!!! And Ryan is something to look at too ;) Hope all goes well for him... As for Photobucket... if you have uploaded pictures already you should see codes underneath the picture - what you are looking for is the [IMG] code (the third one down under your picture) that is marked [IMG] [/IMG]. HIGHLIGHT and COPY that whole address and PASTE it into your post where you want it - that's it. The great thing about Photobucket is that they give you the IMG code to include your pictures in your post. Just try not to upload your pictures too large into Photobucket - cuz not only will you be using allot of space there, but it will take forever to have the 3fatchicks thread come up while your picture comes up. I just use the 300x200 or 400x300pixels - they work really nice. Hope to see your pics in a post soon ;) Oh... FYI don't delete anything you want to stay on your posts whether it is a picture or a graphic - you will lose it on the post if you delete it from Photobucket. All you will see is a red x in a box. *Luck* *GARY* Sounds like you had a Wonderful Father's Day :D Joe & I have Jim Brinkman CD's --- we enjoy his music during dinner... enjoy everything big guy ;) you are well-deserving of all the love showered upon you by your children and lovely wife. *~*~* *MARY* :bravo: on losing 19 lbs!!!! :cp:  That is totally awesome! Keep up the wonderful job and have a great time on your vacation!!!! *~*~* I really must be going... Angie ~ I will check back when I have a free moment, so if you have anymore questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to help ;) *Have a Great Day today CER's!* Luvs, :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Hi *WILMA* YEP :) Today... thanks so much for the wishes! :D We posted almost the same time  Do you know how many times I have posted like that and it has disappeared!!! So now I write all my post in my e-mail and then copy and paste it into the post - then if it does that I haven't lost my whole post. That gets so frustrating!! Now when it does that 'error' thing I don't get all bothered - I just post it again, cuz I have it in my e-mail. You can use 'word' or use your 'notebook' too - whatever works for you ;) You sound so happy! I know I would be too! I cannot wait till I drop another size, but am in another stall :( I know it won't last... I just keep on truckin' You have a great day!!! I go to Curves tomorrow morning with my girlfriend - *Luck* on Wednesday!! Not that I think you need it ;) Luvs, SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
*MICHELE* I too was touched by your story about your father... What a wonderful gift to have that kind of realtionship with him. As Wilma stated... I too hope he reads the bible you gave hime, but you can find Joy in his acceptance of it - you know that one day he WILL read it when the time is right ;) Your visit with Mabel sounded so relaxing and enjoyable - so happy for you. I do hope that you feel some relief soon with your back - it is really painful when you have a bad disk. My SIL has suffered terribly lately with hers! You are in my *prayers* sweetie! Hang in there! You have been trying so hard - don't give up now... Sending goodvibes your way :goodvibes Must be going... been in here long time, the hubby is going to wonder where I went :^: Not really... he knows where I am, but I don't want to leave him long and feeling alone. We said our vows at 10:30am on our Wedding Day, so at 10:30 this morning we will have a 'Special Moment' together with a dance in the kitchen (hehehe) ~ I have the big band radio station playing this morning... it always brings a smile into our lives ;) Love those classic tunes! Later... Luvs, SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Sunny~you probably won't see this until later but HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! to you and Joe. I'll think of you at 10:30, dancing in your kitchen. That is SOOOOOOOOO sweet! :grouphug:

Dieters devotions for June 21, 2004
June 21
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Barrie never felt good after stuffing himself. He felt weighted down and slow. He was grumpy and irritable. He usually felt sick. Still, when food was around, he couldn't help himself. Other people would watch him eat, and he could tell they thought it was a disgrace. What could he do? Nobody understood how hard it was for him. He wanted to lose weight and pass by second and third helpings, but he just didn't have the willpower. Too bad Barrie didn't have the support of good Christian friends and a commitment to sacrificing for God. With that kind of support, anyone can hope to lose weight. Today's thought: There's no reason for me to face my diet alone! |
Monday
HI LADIES
Angie and I just got back from the paint store. I got home from work and my daughter was painting on the fence, I helped her for awhile and we ran out of paint..now we have plenty more for a few days. Amanda will probably go to her internship tomorrow so Ron and I might tackle more of it when I get home from work tomorrow. Ron spent the biggest part of the day at the tennis courts with my daughter's boyfriend..aaarrrrggghhhh! ;) taking private lessons...not only does this guy take "daughter" time away from me-I have to pay him to teach my nephew tennis..aaaarrrrggghhh! This guy has been around for 4 years and he just ain't leavin'...worse yet I have to pay him to house sit and walk the puppies while we go on vacation! There is just no justice in this world ;) Angie called me at work today and said the puppies smelled really good...like rosemary...humm...ya don't suppose they were diggin' up the rosemary plant do ya  Well my daughter is making a cobb salad for dinner tonight so I better go clean up before I track more drywall mess through the house...Can't figure it out, Angie gets mad when I don't take off my clothes before I come in the house...but then she gets mad when I run around the house in my boxers...ah women.....gotta love 'um! HAPPY DANCIN' DONNA AND JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Gary, I'm sorry to tell you but i recently heard that some dogs never outgrow digging. We have a show on talk radio on Sat. a.m.'s and she said that, which surprised me. She suggests you designate a certain area as "their area" to dig, because she feels that it's instinctual and probably won't stop. I thought it was just puppy behavior, but she said no. The cobb salad sounded great!
I went to Michael's last night to get some card making supplies and i wanted to get a watercolor set. I'm making hand-made cards with tatted flowers and tatted trim. The watercolor set was quite expensive so i'll wait on that. But by the time i got to the back of the store i was in such pain i had to stop awhile, lean against the display and take pressure off my left leg. I could barely walk out of the store. It was kind of scary. I told my mom and she said, why don't i get a cane......a CANE! NO.. Kind of depressed me. |
http://www.wegotcards.com/cards/frie...sp/flower2.JPG Good Afternoon Everyone! I went to Curves this morning but it was a tough start - I had too much fun over the weekend... sure felt great after I finished though. As usual - I am so glad I went! It was busy this morning too. Allot of ladies are tuning up or fine tuning their bodies before their vacations. *~*~* *MICHELE* You sure are having a rough time with your back - I am so sorry. *Thinking of you* {{{Hugs}}} I love *Michael's Craft Ctr.* we have another place that I enjoy even more called *Pat Catan's* --- it's eve larger then *Michael's* believe it or not. I should take stock in craft ctrs. I spend enough there! I have been making cards for years (for family & friends only) and really enjoy the craft. I also do a bit of scrapbooking - I made a really nice scrapbook of Joe's 50th. You have a great time making cards ;) Now you have gone and done it! :dizzy: I want to go shopping... *GARY* Those poor gardens! All of your and Angie's hard work --- wish I could give you a tip that would make them stop. But what I can do is some searching for you if you'd like... I will see if there's a site that will give some good advice. Joe and I had a wonderfully quiet day yesterday - we were going to go out all day, but decided to stay home and putts around the yard and get some projects done that we have wanted to work on for awhile. We spent the morning just relaxing to music (& dancing :^: ), listening & watching the birds & chilling out with the morning paper. It went to 77* and was absolutely beautiful - low humidity and breezy - perfect. Then at around 5:30 our friends came over and we went out to dinner at a place called "Willoughby Brewing Company" I didn't have a beer of my own, but Joe did and I enjoyed sipping out of his ;) He tried a couple of different kinds. It was a fun evening. And our friends treated us for dinner - a very thoughtful gift. Glad to hear that your fence is coming along... slowly but surely... ... *~*~* Woops... there goes my washer, it just stopped. Time to get a load out of the dryer and add another into the washer. Later gang :^: Sure do hope to see some MIA's come back soon!!!!! Luvs, :sunny: SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Good morning everyone. This is my first time being here. I was so glad to see a christian forum.
