Good Morning All!

Morning All :coffee: ,
Just wanted to post a quick one before I have to get the kiddies busy on home school! I was going to post last night but the thunderstorms caused me to shut down my computer quickly! :p DH and I have been doing great on our new way of eating (diet is such an ugly word) and I am happy to report that I have hit my 20 lb. mini-goal!!! I am now working on getting to 199 by June 8th - that's the day we head out for our anniversary trip! :D I want to let you all know I am praying for each of you - I have been reading posts and trying to keep up with what's going on and praying for your specific needs - I just don't seem to have alot of time to post personal - So busy trying to finish up school with the kids and I have completely cleaned my house this week from top to bottom - I even accomplished the impossible and had all my clothes and towels in the house clean yesterday except for what we were all wearing! I haven't done that in forever - now maybe I can keep my laundry caught up! :crossed: Anway - thanks for all the posts to me - I am sorry I can't do more today - I am going to make a point to find some time to sit down and post to each of you - you are all such an inspiration to me - thanks for being so nice to a newcomer!

Because He lives,

Thursday morning

http://www.light-speed-web-graphics....pring_0006.gif

Good Morning CEers!!!!

How is everyone this morning? I'm sitting here stiff and drinking a little :coffee: Sorry I didn't get a chance to check back in yesterday. L-o-n-g day!!! I didn't even get home until after 7 pm.

My dh's uncle took a turn for the worse the last few days and doesn't look like he will make it very long. He has severe Parkinson's and heart disease. His body is failing him but worse, his mind is. He is having severe hallucinations most of the time and then the next moment he is in his right mind. Yesterday when I got there he started crying and told me that it's driving him totally crazy!!! He drew up papers last year with a lawyer with his living will intentions - he doesn't want anyone to help him die but he doesn't want anyone to help him live either. Does that make sense? His heart is weak even with the pacemaker kicking in it's just not good, the Dr says now his voltage is really low. Yesterday they called in Hospice. His dd from Wyoming drove in last night and couldn't believe how much he has gone down hill since she was here in February. Please say a prayer for this man and his family. My dear dh is having a hard time with all this too. When dh's father died when he was 12, this man stepped in and was always there for him as a father figure. So, in a sense, it's like losing his father again.

Sunny~ So good to see you back!!! We have missed you! Yes I love the graphic site. It's got a lot of cuties!!! I'm always looking for good sites. Good luck with your weighin.

Sue~ Wow, making costumes and accessories, wow!!! The bowling sounds like a lot of fun. Yep, I must be typical American too, I would be happy with lots of food. That is the problem.

Hello to EVERYONE else. Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT THURSDAY!!!!!:grouphug: http://www.light-speed-web-graphics....pring_0006.gif

Hi all!

Sunny thanks for starting a new thread and for the update on the last thread. You are truly inspirational, you are so busy, but you have such a great attitude and your workout routine is just wonderful. Someday when I grow up, I want to be just like you! ;)

Sue~cool, thanks for the pic! What a pretty lady you are!

Deenie! Woo hoo on your progress! 20 #'s is so wonderful!

As for me, i'm doing pretty good. I am conscious of my eating, i feel more in control doing this bible program, my attitude is changing, which really helps. I'm so happy that i'm not limiting myself of anything and I can't wait to have the fresh fruit and veggies this summer!

Nothing to report from Charlie, haven't heard from him since Sunday, but I've decided not to care. He'll call when he wants, we'll see if i'm available.

SunnyD57 04-22-2004 11:11 AM

http://www.sweetrainbow.com/freeclip...lo_celeste.gif Good Morning CER's :coffee2:

My eyes are so much better today :) Maybe it's because of the rains we had last night and today... who knows.

I went to Curves this morning and had my weigh in and measure - and you know what I did?!? I called ahead of time to let them know that I was coming in for my wt. & measure and that I was filled with anxiety over having it done - would they do it right away and not make me wait - I walked in the door and they both {!} Linda & Amy weighed and measured me  They explained that because so many people are upset at the differences of each person working there and how they each do it - they wanted to use me to compare the differences... I didn't mind at all. And now I know who to go to each month - AMY! She does it the way I would do it too and it's more accurate! They sure did make it fun for me - for sure! I had the biggest grin on my face all morning from the results :D

It was all good news... :D I knew I had lost weight and was down to 197 from 204 last month, so that wasn't a surprise at all and my scale is reading the same as their scale - cool beans! I lost 6.5 inches this month & over all from September/2003 a total of 16" So you see... I have lost most of those inches and weight in the last 4 weeks --- I am a happy camper

I am hoping to see another 5# loss and another 6 - 7" less next month... that's my mini goal :D

*~*~*

MICHELE -
You are so very welcome  I usually let it get to about 9 pages and then I will begin a new thread - it works out well that way I think. You say the kindest things to me, Michele... Thank you so much. I often think that way about you and the other CER's! You all have taught me so much, you will never know!!

I am so happy to hear that you are doing so well with the Bible Program - it is an awesome program! I don't limit my foods either - just my PORTIONS! It is the way God wants it - "in balance" all foods are good. The ONLY foods I eat very little of is SUGARS (refined sugars)... fresh fruit and alike I eat. And I do have a piece or two of Dove Dark Chocolates every now and again also... such a treat for me. They are very small but pack in the flavor and satisfy me. I also limit my SALT intake... did you know that average person today (with eating out) takes in about 6,500mg - 7,000mg of sodium a DAY! And you should not take in any more then 1,500mg a day. And the average person does not drink the water they should. I drink about 70oz a day or more and it works for me. I hardly ever feel puffy anymore.

SHERRY -
Love your butterfly! I didn't say that about the CuteColors Site so you wouldn't use it too --- it is free for everyone to use :^: There are so many cute graphics there. I sure do hope you didn't take it that way. I am so sorry if you did! I must have at least 20 different places I use. More then enough for us all ;)

I am so very sorry to hear about your husband!!! {{{Huge Hugs}}} for you Sherry! While I am on the T-Mill I take that hour to lift my special friends & family up in *prayer* --- you and your DH will surely be lifted up special today!

DEENIEM -
Good to see you! The storms came through here hard too! I had shut the computer down also, but it went through pretty fast and I was able to fire it up again. I also unplugged my new T-Mill - not taking any chances.

 WooHoo for you reaching your 20# weight-loss goal! :cp: I am almost there myself! Soon! Cannot wait. I KNOW you WILL succeed! Both you and your hubby will!

Come back soon... :)

SUE -
Thanks for crossing your fingers!! It worked! LOVE your picture!!!!!! Just LOVE seeing what you look like! You are a beautiful lady, SUE! I see Christ in your eyes! Oh, I am so happy that you posted a picture of yourself! I love seeing pictures!

Did you see the pictures I posted on the last thread of my boys watching birds and of my new T-Mill? :D

Quote:

I am starting to work on costumes for our missions trip the kids are doing three skits, and I hope to make a lot of the assessories.
Would you explain this more - costumes for what exactly? A theme for the mission trip? When are you all going - I have forgotten.

*~*~*

Well, I really must be going... time to go work out on my T-Mill, I didn't do it this morning like usual because of the weigh-in at Curves... so off I go now.
Take Care everyone!!! Keep up the wonderful work!

SunnyD Congratulations on those inches and your weight loss

hi to everyone else

Deenie--Congratulations on those 20 pounds gone forever.

Guess several had those storms last night but I sure did sleep good afterwards. It was storming again this morning when I woke up.

I have my day planned and am just about through with the laundry. One more load to wash and then off to the laundry mat. I've decided to wait until there is a sale on dryers before I buy a new one.

I will be going to the gym sometime today and I've decided that the south beach diet is a good way for me to eat for the rest of my life. I don't feel like I'm on a diet whatsoever. I will be limiting my fat grams though to 35 grams. this calls for a lot of protein and protein has quite a few fat grams.

sprout 04-22-2004 03:23 PM

Feeking good today!!!

Sunny - thanks so much for looking after us here and starting a new thread when they get long - appreciate it. Also congratulations on the loss of weight and inches - you rock girl.

I have been thinking lately on why I kee sabotagging myself in my life changes. Over the past 2 years now I have started exercising - have now walked over 745 miles and find that on the days that I don't go for my walk I just am not with it. Also was going to Curves but have changed to a locally owned gym for ladies - similar equipment but to tell you the truth I like this equipment better. Anyway started with Hooked on Paces on April 7 - this morning when I went I asked Edith (the instructor) if she could weigh and measure me today as I was wanting to have a 2 week look at how I was doing. So we did that and this is the results. In my first 2 weeks at this gym I have lost 2 pounds and 3 inches = I am so thrilled with this - I did not achieve this at the other gym. I think it is because of the atmosphere of where I am going - very very friendly and really helpful on using the equipment - told them the areas I wanted to work on for 2 weeks and they have helped me keep focused on those areas.

So I have noted my progress as of today and am setting a mini goal of 2 pounds and 3 inches in the next 2 weeks - weigh and measure in time should be April 6 give or take 1 day. Am not setting huge goals but ones that I think for me are doable.

Am working on learning why I have been sabotagging myself - with all the medical problems I can't let this continue - I need to take care of myself and only I can do it. And I know that our Lord and Savior will give me the wisdom, knowledge and strength to do whatever is necessary to make these changes.

Am also going to be putting up a 'graph' in my signature which will show the loss in 25 pound segements - when I look at the whole picture it is too overwhelming so smaller chunks should help with this.

Dieters devotions for April 22, 2004

April 22

Matthew 6:25
'Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?'

When I began to diet, I realized how much of my time was spent with something to eat or drink in my hands. Before the diet, I had something in one hand or the other almost all the time. I used to spend a lot of time thinking about where I would eat, what I would eat, and how much I would eat. Food was an idol in my life. How foolish it is to live like that! There are so many things in life that are more important. Spend time in prayer and contemplation, asking the Lord to open the eyes of your heart to all the wonderful things you have missed for so long.
Today's thought: I want my life to be much more than food and drink!

EZMONEY 04-22-2004 10:43 PM

Sunni- It's Angie - Gary showed me your post and I have to tell you that I am so jealous that you are jogging. I haven't been able to jog for months because my sciatic nerve is acting up. I ran with the puppy the other day, maybe half a block, and the pain returned. It kept me up. I went to my doctor and he took X-rays just to make sure there was no disc problems. He had ordered physical therapy for me. Maybe this will finally do the trick. I really want to get runnin' again, especially with Rylee.

Sami- I haven't forgotten about the journal. I just received my copyright registration and I have to get copies made. I will do it asap!

This is edited by Gary-- Angie says to tell you Sunny that even though she hasn't been able to jog, she still goes on 2 mile walks twice a week and a 3 miler on Saturday in the mornings-- plus shorter walks with NO-RYLEE-NO every day in the afternoon/evening.

doitforme 04-22-2004 11:36 PM

Hi there!

I just got home from work and am going to sit up and see if I can win a crown for pharoah on e-bay. I have a teen youthgroup at church that I work with, there are two other adults that work with me. Jay is a deacon in the church He does there bible lessons, and leads them in prayer ect. (they meet at the same time the adults do for prayer meeting) Robin- (Jay's wife) and I work together picking out music and skits and stuff for them to work on. We try to do a missions trip every year where they go to churches and nursing homes ect. to put on their program. Last year we spent a week in New Brunswick and one night on Prince Edward Island. The pastor makes arrangements with other churches for rooms (usually church floor in class rooms) and we cook for them with food we bring. They were a huge success last year, especially in the nursing homes, the older people started hymns with them ect. They also go once a month to a nursing home near us and sing, and talk to the old people. This year's them is God's provision and deliverence. We are doing a skit with pharoah and moses and aaron. Where moses decides that God's plagues are not working and how He wants to try coming up with his own, and aaron talks him out of it, it is neat.

doitforme 04-22-2004 11:45 PM

continued

The second one is David and Goliath- with 4 cheerleaders cheering for Goliath and when He dies they switch to David, There cheers tell the story of how we want to be on the winning side, but really should be on God's side, and that He will deliver us. Really is cute, but without scrip can't share much.
The last is called Godbusters which is patterned after ghost busters, except that it is scientists that want to explain everything with supernatural and a lady who is saying no its the Lord intervening and delivering. Sopng were picked that go along with this. The teens really get into it. It is good bible based christian drama that sends a message. My job is help pick skits and then assist with making their costunes, they did two great skits for the Christmas program I can use the shepherd from there for Aaron, and Moses ect. Really is a fun time, and these kids are all very good, polite, christian kids
they go to christian school, probably know the bible better than me. My niece and nephew are in this group so its a fun trip with importance. This year we are going to South Jersey. We spend the 1st night in rooms at Baptist Bible College, there is no students in the summer, then housed in churches. We will spens a day at the beach and probable a couple hours here and there that is free between shows there. It is a good time. We leave 4 days after I get back from Alaska.

EZMONEY 04-23-2004 01:18 AM

Thursday Night

HI GALS

Sorry--AGAIN!!-- for not checking in. Angie did earlier but I was busy yelling "STOP CHEWING ON THAT!! RYLEE " I think the neighbors think her name is NO-RYLEE-NO ;) I have been so busy at work and side jobs this last week--no sports this week, step-d has a game tomorrow but she is out wiith a sore ankle. Daughter off (only practice) until regionals next week. My son and nephew due back from Washington D.C. and New York around 1 am tomorrow night (oops! that is Saturday morning)-- When I talked with my son last night he said that Washington D.C. was BREATHTAKING--all the monuments, he especially FELT the IWO JIMA one! Good for him. He said the 8th graders don't really appreciate it but he sure is! He said they are more concerned on getting back to the hotel to swim--of course we knew that would be the case "before" they left.

SUNNYD HEY 190's GIRL!! :cp: :cp: :cp: You have been doing exactly what you are supposed to and it is starting to show!! Eating right (OK pretty damn good! ;) ) and exercising DAILY!!! Calories in--calories out!! that is the ticket!!! I could go on and on on how proud I am of you but it is too late tonight so you will just have to wait ;) and get your "lovin'" from JOE!! I am glad the eyes are better-- every so often the spring messes with my eyes and it is HORRIBLE-- so far so good this year. Don't let anyone or anything take away the work you have done dear--next year at this time you will have LOST a whole person!!

MICHELE Hey kiddo-- when I said the other day Charlie-Charlie-Charlie I meant it all in love-- not a dig at you for speaking of him. It was supposed to be more like...OH Charlie :o    Sorry he hasn't called yet this week...hopefully he has big week-end plans for you both. You mentioned I haven't been saying what is for dinner...guess because Angie has been doing most of the cooking with me working late...tonight it was chicken burritos fresh guacomole..last night she had BUNKO so I cooked for myself---chili and nachos :sssh: tomorrow night we are trying a Hawaiian BBQ that just opened up down the street.

SHERRY Sorry about DH uncle..Prayers. I know what you mean about keeping Kelli "close by"-- ya want to give your kids enough rope so they feel independent--BUT--not enough to hang themselves until they are LEGAL AGE!! I tried to do things like making them put together a scrapbook of teenagers in car accidents from the time they were 14 until they got their licenses.. I never talked to them much about it, I just asked for the scrapbook from time to time to see if they were doing it, they were. I knew that they were reading the stories..I was hoping the sadness would sink in. Hoping that when they started driving that they would remember some of the stories and be more careful. So far my 23 and 20 year old have had 1 hydroplane incident between them--son did hydroplane in a rain storm and did minor damage to another car--but did admit he "MIGHT" have been...OK WAS going a little too fast  Thanks for the tip on the Coke bottle--RYLEE has one now and loves it!! Hope you are feeling better--GO COACH GO!! :coach:

SPROUT Great job recognizing and admitting your weak points! This is only going to help increase your success. Working out with DD I hope is a big plus too. You have shown that you can do this girl!! May I make a suggestion? and make your pound segments on your graph a little smaller... maybe shoot for 5 pounds at a time instead of 25...am I being too pesimistc? YOU can shoot me!! I just don't want you to give up if 25 isn't coming.

SUE YOU are sooo PRETTY!! Thanks for the picture!! Those skits sure sound funny  Good luck with the crown. That group of kids is sure lucky to have you!! How is "OUR" savings going for Alaska ;)

SAMI Sorry about your Aunt. No prom date these days is NO PROBLEM!! At least around here..my kids always had a date for Prom, but I really think that my daughter preferred going to the dances with her girlfriends and guy friends instead of dates too---although around here Prom was more traditional..I love it though that in some schools like ours kids will go in groups to dances--takes pressure off boys and girls in a lot of ways. Here is hoping Ashli's homework is up to snuff.

WILMA Still celebrating girl?? OH MARTHA! ;)

ANGEL Where are you? Prayers for family.

JUDY Glad to have you back! Sorry about your friend's divorce...been there...sad times.

CEEJAY Weathering the storms?

STANDNNGRACE I had a very good GARRY friend..unusual with the 2-R's.

DEENIEM Where are you too?

Well saw Survivor...can any one tell me why Rob is still there?

Off to bed...aahhhh NO-RYLEE-NO PUT THAT DOWN!!!

Hello from Valerie!

Thank you all for an awesome place to be encouraged and inspired! [IMG]
http://img.heartlight.org/cards/g/walk_1john4_10.jpg
Ü I am so glad to know that I have the encouragement of this group with me this time. :cp: I don’t know all of you well but feel like I do as you share your lives on this message board. I am praying for you all daily. Your posts are precious to me. They bring encouragement and joy into the mix!
My devotions have been focused on the area of food and work lately. I hope noone minds my sharing what the Lord is doing .......
Even while dieting I have obsessed on food rather than enjoying Christ. : I believe I have lived to eat.... But now I am eating to live.:cb:

John 6:27-29
27Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."

There are two kinds of foods, physical and spiritual, food that endures to eternal life and food that spoils. The verses that follow tell us how to acquire this spiritual food.

28Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
29Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

This is a true believing not as the demons believe.....

19You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder. James 2: 19

True believing is synonymous with feeding on Jesus....

John 635Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

I need to turn away from seeking to find satisfaction in earthly things..... In my case food and turn to Christ to fill me ........ Christ can satisfy my heart and give me life.

John 10:100The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Doitforme....I wanted to tell you that I am living the phase "If it is to be it must be me." So I love your name. My husband and children are slow to change their habits and discourage me often ....... that is one reason why I look to Christ and am ready to walk it out by myself.... Does that make sense? You can do this!
Have an awesome day!

doitforme 04-23-2004 09:56 AM

Hi there!

Welcome back Seattle sue, hope all is well with you.
E.Z.- your sweet thanks! I won my crown, it is too cool it has the cobra on the front and lots of egyptian symbols around the band, just can't tell the boy (nephew) playing pharoah that it really is cleopatras crown, wouldn't go off well, that teenage boy thing. I make final payment on our Alaska trip today, so can start paying on Hawaii soon. Keep the overtime coming. Gotta run, making spear, and shield for Goliath. Have an awesome weekend guys!
Raining here today, suppose to be nice tom. hope to start cleaning campsite.

Dieters devotions for April 23, 2004

April 23

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Patience gained during the diet is something well worth holding onto after the diet ends. How many people have lamented that they lost weight only to gain it back again. It is so silly to allow such a thing to happen. We struggle so hard to take weight off; why would we ever let it find a home on us again? Dieting frees us from the imprisonment of a fleshy jail. Once free from that, we should never return. Ask the Lord for strength and determination, so that once we liberate ourselves from fat, we may not be taken prisoner again!
Today's thought: I will not stand for slavery to flesh and fat!

Ditforme- My father has a place in Avalon New Jersey. When you take your youth group to South Jersey go to Springers Ice cream store. They have the best ice cream I have ever had . Get black or red rasberry ice cream. It is located in Stone Harbor New Jersey. My family has gone their for generations.I love the New Jersey shore.

Gary- Your puppy Rylee looks cute. How did you pick out his name? I hope Angie heals so she can run again. I started walking at the mall in the morning before it opens up. Its flat ,air conditioned, has benches and bathrooms near by. Two time around makes a mile. The problem is my back legs and ankles cramp up. I sit on the bench to stretch for a while then continue to walk. I also got the Firm step, weight stick and dvd tapes.

undefinedSunnyD I'm playing around with the color so if I mess up i'm sorry. We did not have any snow this year in Aiken. All the pine trees are pollinating now. The azaleas are almost finnished blooming. We live about 45 minutes from the Masters in Augusta Georgia. If you watched the golf tornament you could see how wonderful the azaleas get. I am a member of the Ikibana club ( japanese flower arranging) During the masters the Japanese broudcast company came into town. This year they ordered bird of paradise from Hawaii to decorate their home in Augusta. We got to rearrange the flowers and play with all the expensive flowers when they left town. It was alot of fun. Most of the town people leave so large corperations like Nike etc. can rent their homes. They pay big bucks so their big customers can see the tornament and meet with Tiger Woods or some other great golfer.

undefinedMichele- I never heard of this new guy. I hope he is treating you well.

I posted to each of you last night and almost finished and accidentally hit the back button on my mouse and lost it all before I did a copy :( So I will be back some time today and post - I promise. And I will do my best to help all of you with your images if Sherry doesn't, okay. :) Valerie & Michele - you are closer then you think to posting images ;)

So off I go to get ready for the day...
Later CER's ~ you all have a Wonderful Day today!

I am just sick - I don't have time to post personal again as it is getting late in the morning for me and I have much to do! Just know that I am praying for each of you and I WILL post to you all soon - and I worked so hard on it - stupid computer! Oh well, off to do laundry - yeah I know I had it caught up just 2 days ago but I can't seem to get my family to quit wearing clothes - haha! I am at 209 and I haven't been there for over 5 years - it feels so good!!! 199 here I come!!!

http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...tecolorsj8.gifGood Morning CEers!!!!!!

I just spent 45 minutes typing a long individual post to you and then the computer messed up and the page came up cannot find server and when I refreshed of course, I lost everything!!! UGH!!! So, I will go back to short little posts. Does anyone know how to email your posts to the thread? That way, maybe I wouldn't lose them. :(

I am sooooooooo glad it's finally Saturday. I am off and can get some rest. Whew! what a week! I did finally talk with my boss at my dh's insistance and my schedule is much better next week. I was given off Tuesday and Thursday as I'm supposed to be. Of course, I have a meeting out of town Tuesday but that's ok, need to get groceries. My eating has been totally the worse but I am going to do a lot of planning this weekend and get back on plan.

Ok, to avoid losing a lot this posting is continued...............................

So glad to hear from you! Glad to hear you are still working out but sorry to hear you having my problem with the swelling. I can't drink the sodas either, I allow myself one every week or two but make sure I can take my lasix thereafter. Denise is in my prayers! I don't want to be like that either but I don't want to die early and not see my kids grow up either. My boss really got on me for "pushing it". She is new and didn't know about my health problems and after I explained them to her she asked why in the world was I putting more work load on my heart and probably shortening my life? Was working really worth that? She thinks I need to go ahead and file for my disability which I was told to do last year. *hanging head*. I thought I couldn't financially afford it but I recently find out that I could still work some and make enough to get by and still have some income if I couldn't. And boy, did she get on to me about the softball!!! Oh my! But at least she was listening and acting like she cared. ;) You keep up the good work Sami. I think you are doing awesome!!!!!!

Well, i'm NOT going to even try an individual long post since the last 3 of you have lost yours! Geez, i get way too frustrated for that.

Judy~yes, the Epstein Barr still seems to affect me, i am very tired, a lot. Even if i sleep 8-9 hours, i still wake up tired. I HAVE to get exercising because i'm sure that would help and I am trying to take care of myself. My PLAN today is to take a 1/2 hour walk directly after work. I'll put my stuff in the car and go right across the street and walk along the river. No excuses!!!.......

Still no Charlie??.......oh well. But i'm keeping busy. May go to the Craft Fair this afternoon, when it's not so crowded. A new friend from Alpha and her husband may come with me! And sometime this weekend i'm installing a new kitchen faucet. Wish me luck. I've never done that before but i'm sure i can figure it out.

Must get to work.

Have a wonderful weekend! You are all in my prayers! :grouphug:

Our oldest dd is babysitting today and just came and got our little one (7 yrs old) to play with the youngest of the two she's babysitting, so my dh and I are here alone. Wow, that is strange. I guess I ought to get off the computer and spend a little time with him, if I can get him to turn off the western. :D

Dieters devotions for April 24, 2004

April 24

Ephesians 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.

Satan would have us be much less than we have been created to be. He tempts us to gluttony and greed, then makes us feel weak and unworthy. He tries and tests us a thousand ways, and the harder we try to resist, the harder he works to thwart us. The only way to stand firm against the devil is to enlist the power of the Almighty God. Whereas Satan may have a field day with his human forces, he has no effect against God. When we give in to the temptation to indulge, we are really giving in to the plan of the devil to turn us from God. Follow the Lord at all times, and the devil will flee from you.
Today's thought: Chocolate cake is nothing but devil's food!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Looks like I am not the only one having problems with the posting :^:

http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/...plantline3.gif

SHERRY-
I too have had problems with the errors coming up on this site [allot] lately and have lost posts in the past, so now what I have been doing is (with the exception of earlier, cuz I was in a hurry & I goofed up :dizzy: )... I bring up my e-mail as if I were sending a new letter and then write out my whole post and then after I am all finished I HIGHLIGHT the post and COPY IT off the e-mail; then go to the reply box on the site and PASTE IT there... then I finish the post with the IMAGES, etc. and then click on submit. Then if I lose it through the 'error' I still have the e-mail version to go back to if need be to copy again. It does make it less frustrating.

Yep! Joe & I had a great morning! We enjoyed our breakfast out with our friends, went to the grocery store, got home unloaded and then went to the park :) We walked 3.35miles in 53min and enjoyed every moment of it! You should have seen the turtles all basking in the sun!!!!! There had to be hundreds of them all different sizes. I forgot my digital, can you believe it! It would have made a great picture! All their heads were straight in the air  We just got home not long ago and had some lunch - I had a Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad - yum! Now I am going to try again and catch up with you and the others ;) Joe just went out and is going to mow & trim our lawn while the sun is still shinning. We are suppose to get a storm by early evening... so he has to make hay while the sun shines.

Oh... yes... Joe & I are best buds... We get along great - most times - we have our days --- I don't know many couples that don't... but most times we are all good with one another. Especially now that I feel better about my image. He said he see's allot of change in me. I enjoy life more if you can imagine that I could enjoy it more then I already do ;) Joe doesn't get into TV much... he is very active - I barely can keep up with him on the weekends  The only way I get him to sit still is with an action movie that I will rent on Sat. evenings or with the HGTV channel. Oh and he LOVES that new show on Sunday nights ~ The Extreme Home Makeover Show at 8:00... it is a GREAT Show and he reminds me of that one!

MICHELE -
I'll join you in going to the Craft Fair... I love going to those. I may not buy much, but I get allot of great ideas! Come back and fill us all in if you go, okay.

Sorry to hear that Charlie hasn't called you... you think maybe he's gone for work? Or has his weekend planned with his son? Or maybe time got away from him? Or maybe he's at his home wondering the same thing you are --- "I wonder why Michele hasn't called me all week?"

DEENIE M -
So sorry to hear that you lost your post as well... try doing what I told Sherry so you won't become to flustered with this site ;) I think the 'error' happens when the boards become very active. At least it's what I have noticed.

CONGRATS! On being down 21#'s! Awesome!!! Soon you will be in "One"-derland! :D  Cool! Keep up the great work!!!!

SAMI -
That is wonderful that Target donated the mats and weights - just too great! Sami, have you checked to see if your Potassium is low!??? If it is too low you will get leg cramps! Maybe look into it or ask your Dr. Try eating a banana after your workouts and if your legs feel the slightest bit better - you may be sweating out your Potassium. Also another good source of Potassium is Gatorade. I have a 4 oz glass after my hard workouts. Keep up the great work, but make sure you take good care of yourself. Sure do hope that the swelling go down soon! Oh yes - Potassium is a natural diaretic (sp?) too. So is Asparagus. Oh... also, did you know that if you are not getting enough rest for the energy you put out that you will hold on the water too... so rest is very important! Why do you think I am "in bed" now by 9:30/10pm... they don't call it "beauty rest" for nothin'

I am so happy to hear that I am helping you and anyone else with the drive to commit and achieve... it is hard work that is so well worth while! I have days of struggle, but I just put on my workout clothes and go... don't think about it at all. If I do I may not workout and I always feel better after I have done it.

I will hold your D-SIL, Denise, in my *prayers* too... I remember days like that in my past where all I did and wanted to do was sleep my life away. When I was depressed after my accident for many years I did that and had gained allot of weight. And the more weight I gained the worse it got - I just did not want to be seen. Then one day I just decided that it was my time and made some changes, but until I was ready - I was going nowhere. I will keep her in my prayers for sure!

Hope you have a good day with all you have to do! Send me some pictures to post, okay :)

JUDY -
I bet those Azaleas are beautiful!!! Joe & I have 3 Azalea Bushes around our home and they all bloom beautifully! And we have 2 Flowering Almond Shrubs that are gorgeous! Cannot wait to take pics and show you all.

SUE -
I am thrilled that you took the time to fill me/us in on what you do! Glad you got the crown! :cp: Yeah!!! Those kids are so blessed to have you so involved in what they do. And I know that the places you go to sure do appreciate you all as well! My D-SIL had MS (she has passed on now) and was in a nursing home for many years... we often go to them and sing - especially during the holiday's - they so enjoy it. Keep up the wonderful work! I can tell how much you care and love what you do! You have such a great big beautiful heart!

VALERIE -
Thanks so much for posting those readings! It is always great to be reminded... and each time I read I learn something new... it's so great! So glad you are enjoying this thread... it sure is great having some new blood join in

DANCE4JOY -
I am afraid I don't remember you... but I didn't remember Sherry under her new name either. What name did you have before? Or maybe I don't remember because I joined after you had already left? Come back soon!

ANGIE -
I am so very sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well! I didn't know
:( My D-BIL also had the problem you are having now and that's what he did too and it worked - the therapy. He said it took awhile, but it worked. I think he is just now getting back into running a bit and it's been over a year. Just be careful and make sure you are healed before you go back - if you go back - to running. So many are discouraging me from running, but I won't do it all the time... I just want to get in a good 15 to 20 min. of a good jog to get my heart-rate up is all. I will not be the runner you are.
Feel better real soon! {{{Hugs}}}

GARY -
Thanks for passing my message onto your wife ;)
And thank-you so much for your encouragement! Your words (and all the CER's on this thread) mean the world to me! You guys are the ones that got me back on track again! You will never know how much you people mean to me! Is that possible??? With people you have never really met? Well, I think it is... I know that one day we all will meet for sure ;) I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings here on the board or make anyone feel that I love them less - it's just that... ... well... Gary, being that you are a guy - your words mean so much to me! I don't get praise from my father at all - I hear words of praise from my mom, but never my father... so I think that's why my Joe's & your words just mean extra ;)
Thank- you so much Gary!
And Angie too... for sharing Gary with us all!! ;)

SPROUT -
You are very welcome! I know how much you like it when I don't let it get too long and I don't mind at all beginning threads - in fact, I enjoy the honor you all have given me in doing that ;)

Marilyn, it sounds as if you have come into allot of truth's lately... hard to face, but you are going to be a better person for it - you'll see. It's the test of fire that brings out the gold :) You sound like you are well on your way to a new beginning :) I will continue to lift you up in prayer.

CONGRATS  in the loss of your 2 pounds and 3 inches!!! That is a great start! So glad to see you too have a graph - I think it's great motivation to see it going down... don't you :D

ANGEL -
How are you doing these days??? I know you had a treatment and I was just wondering how you are. It's been so long since you last visited us here and we have some new people that haven't had the pleasure of your company ;) Come back real soon... {{{luvs and hugs}}}

WILMA -
We hope you will be able to stop in sometime this weekend and fill us in on all you have been us to lately ;) I bet you are busy this weekend baking for the family, huh... miss you too!

Hi AGGIE - Get those taxes done? ;) Hi CEEJAY!

Afternoon CEers!!!!
I just came by to see if anyone else was around. I see everyone is out running errands, gardening, exercising, working, etc... It's raining here and I'm trying to rest, so I'm inside and almost bored. Grant you, it's not cause I don't have things to do, I definitely do, but my dh won't let me ANY work this weekend, but rest. He is such a sweety!!! I just wish I didn't have to look at it while I rest.

Have a GOOD one!!!:D

POSTING IMAGES ~

MICHELE & VALERIE you were closer then you realized to posting images ;)

Here we go --- (maybe you will want to print this up to follow)
Well, what I do is this...

FIRST - you will OPEN A SEPARATE WINDOW from
the window you are in at 3FATCICKS --- by going to your START & then click on your INTERNET EXPLORER another window should open up for you then...

SECOND - you use that second window to go do a search with GOOGLE or EXCITE (whatever you choose) and type in FREE GRAPHICS, or GIFS or ANIMATIONS; then once you have found a site and the graphic you want...

THIRD - you will RIGHT CLICK ON THE IMAGE and then go to PROPERTIES at the BOTTOM; then you will click on PROPERTIES... when you do you will see a box come up with an ADDRESS ~ HIGHLIGHT the address and then RIGHT CLICK on the HIGHLIGHTED AREA and then click on COPY and then OK.

FOURTH - go back to where you are now posting -in the REPLY BOX- and RIGHT CLICK where you want the image to be and PASTE IT in. Now you want to make sure you surround it with the IMG CODE in the same way you do the BOLD or COLORS, SIZE, etc. i.e.: [IMG][/IMG]

Now some web-sites will not permit you to use their images even if they are free and may block you with a code of their own... so just keep playing till you find one that will show and stay on the post. I always save my favorite sites to my FAVORITES when I find one I can use. This way when you open a separate window it is easier to go to your FAVORITES or BOOKMARK and get to the site.

That's it!

**Something else I thought I would mention...
I write my whole post as I mentioned to SHERRY earlier and then once I paste what I have written into the REPLY BOX --- I go the where I want the BOLD, SIZE, ( COLORS or IMAGES, etc.) and HIGHLIGHT the word or paragraph and then while it's highlighted, just go click on the B, I, U, SIZE, or the IMG - to easily add the bracketed code I want when I want it. This way you aren't spending all your time adding them on to the beginning or the end /or/ adding it to the beginning (as VALERIE did trying to post the image she wanted) and not add the end code, therefore making it incomplete. Just HIGHLIGHT and CLICK it all. I frame each post in a color just by highlighting the whole paragraph or paragraph's I have written to you and then going to the color chart and clicking on the color I want... volia! So easy with this new format that the 3FATCHICKS have chosen ;)

I wish you all the best of "LUCK"
Happy imaging :D

:sunny: SunnyD

PS>>> Here is a great site to begin with ---
http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/index.html

Once it comes up just SAVE that page to your FAVORITES or BOOKMARK it
in a way you will be able to find it again.
There are thousands of smilies here!
Enjoy!
