  • I recently purchased this and haven't yet read it. I am looking forward to it but definitely am happy I found this specific sub-forum. I have found that sometimes I use food as my support when things are tough. I know that being closer to God and making that a priority could help me in my journey as a whole (not just with weight loss). I realize that this is an older thread but if anyone else is interested in reading together, I would totally be in.
  • There was another person Ellie who wrote recently as well. I subscribed to this forum back in February when I had been thinking about this book as well.

If the 3 of us can get going that would be great. I bought the book a long time ago hoping my local Bible study group would do it, but they didn't.

Diet-wise, I have issues affording good food. I have been reading Metabolism Miracle and find I fit the description of someone who needs that type of diet. Finding the money for it and a way to manage it with everything else I have going will be another matter. I may have to wait until the end of July.
  • I'm in! I just pulled my book out of the bookcase. Going camping this weekend so I'll bring it with me. Want to discuss chapter 1 next Thursday? 7/19?

Aunt Nelly - do you have an Aldi near you? I'm finding that they're produce is getting better and better. I use them to help fill my $$ gap in the budget. I can get more for my money. They have brown rice now and some other things that we use around here. (We're going clean eating/traditional in our house). The more fresh foods the better.
  • Yes, we have an Aldi, but not one near at all. If we did, I'd be going! We used to go every month and pile 2 carts over the top, oh about 18 years ago .... that was when we had money coming in all at once, instead of like now, when it comes in slowly since we're self-employed. Also, that was when gas was cheap, too. It has to be worth the drive and save more than the gas money.

The last time I went I had noticed the produce was a good price. Some other things like meat and cheese weren't as cheap. They also used to have a printed flier of all the prices, now they don't so I can't be sure if I would even save money for my drive....it's about 45 mins.

I am thinking next Thursday would normally be good but that is the day before we leave on a short week end trip and I'm guessing that I'll be kind of swamped getting me and the DH and 5 other kids packed up and ready to go....plus all that food we have to take to save money....we will buy the cold stuff once we get there at the walmart nearby.

If you find someone else to discuss, go ahead without me. I have to stay off the computer next week to accomplish what needs to get done.

I appreciate your making a PLAN!! We need that !!
  • Ohhh i would like to join in, if you arent already finished? i will buy the book asap and read it!!!!!
  • Hi! I don't know what happened to Ellie since she had a plan and it was a bad time for her.

Do get it, we haven't even started yet! The more we have join the better. Ellie had suggested above to start with the one chapter and discuss it on a certain day here. If she would jump back in maybe we can set up a new goal date for the first chapter.
  • I just purchased this book on my kindle and would love to read with you ladies! Would we like to start August 1st?
  • I would....dont know where the others are !
  • Well hopefully August 1st will work for everyone and others will want to begin reading. I am really looking forward to this book!
  • You wanting to read the first chapter for the 1st then? I hope we can discuss. I started reading it, but had another book to read with a group, which is over now.
  • Hi all,
I read this book earlier this year as part of a weight loss support group at my church. It's great. I'd like to join in the discussion too.

I'm new to 3FC and learning the etiquette as I go, so bear with me!
