My dad, Lars, died last evening. We honored his wishes and had the ventilator removed after the 2 days. He passed away very quickly without waking. Please just keep our family in your prayers. We're missing him very much.

My friend Jennifer still has not been found. They've started doing searches for her around the area her car was found, but no results. It's just so unlike her. I'm praying for her family and friends as well as her. I just keep finding myself shaking my head over the whole thing. :chin:

Thankyou for your prayers, they mean a lot. The family is taking care of both Mom's during this difficult time.

My Dad (Dick) was suppose to have kidney removal surgery. But they said would be a risky surgery and not positive it's cancer. So decided to do a biopsy first. Will find out results on Friday. Pray it's not Cancer.

Hi Guys. I'm going to start popping in here every day. Lately, God has really been speaking to me about my prayer life.

Bootsie, I'll be praying for your brother and that he'll get the care he needs.

BOOTSIE ~ there shouldn't be any reason why you can't have your brother transferred to a suitable place closer to you. You could tell the insurance company that you would like him transferred to Texas where he can be closer to family ... Here it would just be a matter of finding a good place that had an opening; not sure how it works in the US, but I will send up some prayers for him and this situation. I worked in 4 nursing care homes, and it's true that some institution food can taste bland compared to what we are used to; it really depends on the home he is in ... :hug:

God has been giving me a good Christian kick lately, I think he has been talking to me but it is been going in one ear and out the other! I need a good kick once in a while have found me a good church , just love it! No politics , no gripping just loving God and studying the Bible!

Rosebud-thank you (and thanks to everyone else too). You must have a special insight because today has been a very hard day. Might be because we were donating many of Dad's things today and it just seemed so final. My DH and DS2 are back home in MN while DS3 and I stayed in IN to take care of Dad's affairs. He had requested that his body be donated to science and that there be no memorial of any kind, so we just have to wait on the death certificates to close his accounts. Probably have them by Thursday, then DH will come get us to go back home. Fortunately, my aunt (Dad's sister) and cousins have been wonderful in helping us as well as entertaining DS3 when there's not much for him to do on the business end of things. But, he's been helping me move things, which is hard for him because it keeps Dad's passing on his mind all the time, so we hug and cry frequently.

Prayers sent for all other concerns too. Take care, everyone.

No news at all - it's been three weeks since she disappeared. They've tried searching the river and had hundreds of people out scouring the area where her car was found, but nothing. I appreciate the prayers and know that God is trustworthy in the midst of it all.

Lola Jean , that is so strange. Don't give up hope girl ,praying for Jennifer to still be found safe.

Yes, RE: JENNIFER ~ still sending up prayers, but I can't get the questions out of my mind of why she was out at 1 AM in the morning by herself. Was she going to the store to pick up a quart of milk at that time of night? There may be some clue there, if they knew the reason she went out at that time of night in the first place ... did she get a call from a friend or family member or a boyfriend? And another clue is where they found the car: in a mall parking lot or somewhere else? She had her wallet or it disappeared, but she hasn't spent any money -- so that's odd in itself, and sounds very strange becuz she would need money for food unless she was with someone else. Of course, the oddest thing is that she hasn't contacted her family at all and that doesn't look good; but I am still praying for a positive outcome for her nevertheless -- and I will keep on praying til we know one way or another ... and prayers are going up for comfort for her family and friends too! :hug:

Prayers going up for all needs! Thank you all for the prayers for me and my family-it is helping, but I'm sure it'll take time for us to feel "normal" again. DH even told me today that it hurts more losing my dad than it did when his dad died in August-I think it's because we had time to prepare for his dad's death and my dad went so suddenly and unexpectedly. But, thanks again-you're a great group of friends:hug:

I was just sharing with another lady in another thread that it takes a little time before you notice that it is getting easier -- about a year is very common. Now I just "shout out" to my mom and grammies or anyone else who is up there, as if they are here and can hear me. I figure my angels will pass a message along to them for me, if that is allowed and it helps me to feel better too

BOOTSIE ~ glad to hear that your brother is now eating and exercises; I think he was just upset being sent there, and that is understandable. Now that he knows that if he gets better -- that he can go home again and/or move closer to family, he will try harder ...

:hug: BOOTSIE ~ while I understand how your brother feels, surely he wouldn't expect you to quit your job becuz who would look after him while you were at the store. You have already made that committment there with your DH; and since your brother needs extra care for now, he can get it there. If he were better and could look after himself for the time you were away that would be different ... and GOD is aware of everything that is going on, including your brothers health and all your present responsibilities.

Sorry to hear your cat, Crip, passed away, but it seems that it was fairly quick and he isn't suffering anymore. I had a cat that had the same thing after he was bitten by a neighbour's dog and the abcess kept breaking and making a horrible mess all over the place. Sometimes they get better on their own or with some meds, but sadly, sometimes they don't. :hug:
