UPDATE on WJGS (our eldest brother) ~ his surgery went well and his recovery is coming along great; he is up and walking around (using 2 canes but for short distances, he can walk without them now; say, from the car to the house). Not sure about the arm yet; my SM says that he never mentioned that to them and they didn't notice anything when he was there last week. Thanks for your prayers; very appreciated by all ... :)

Thank you for the update ROSEBUD!

My sister came over this afternoon for a yoga and relaxation session with Angie. She is doing pretty good after her first bout of chemo last Monday. It is a long haul as we know.

My Aunt is doing Wonderful. Thanks for all the prayers! She had bought a little Yorkie about 3 weeks before she had her surgery and I'm so glad that she has him. She loves him (and he loves her too) and she has someone else to think about and take care of. She told me yesterday that she never really had lots of reason to hear her voice at home but now she talks to "Lil' Mt. Biggs" all the time!! He is 4 pounds of pure love for her! My Uncle passed away 10 years ago this month so she was alone. Now after having Mr. Biggs, she says she doesn't know how she ever managed without him! Makes me Happy!

Had my family, brother, sister and her husband, and my Aunt and Mr. Biggs over today for a big pot of beef stew and corn bread! Felt pretty good to have a family dinner. My older brother had to work an Open House today so I took him a bowl over this evening when he got home. Love being back in MO. with family!

Great news for your aunt, KAREN....Mr. Biggs...love it!

ROSEBUD I always want early appointments...but then I don't stay up until that same morning either...wink!

Prayers for a pain free experience today ROSEBUD!

Asking for prayers for Angie's yoga class tonight. She is having a class at the yoga studio in town for those interested in yoga from a christian perspective. Asking for those that come be blessed.

My sister is doing ok...she met with her doctors Thursday and they want to start the radiation treatments sooner than later....she has another chemo session tomorrow. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers.

THANKS for all your prayers for my tooth extraction; it is starting to look pretty good, and it is contining to heal -- the edges just get a bit irritated when I eat, but that isn't too bad really. I just have to keep remembering to eat on my right side only ... :lol:

My sister is doing ok after this last bout of chemo...harder this time.

Going in for my surgery on these hernias on Thursday...all good to go on that.

Quick update on dad-he has only 7 radiation treatments left. Has some trouble swallowing, but isn't doing too badly, as he is actually still able to eat some solid foods. He's concerned about the cost of all this, but I'm trying to convince him to take advantage of any program that he would qualify for to help pay for it, as he's been a taxpayer all his working life and it seems to me that he has earned a little assistance, since he has no pension and just lives on social security. He's a hard-headed German, though, so he feels it's beneath his dignity to ask for assistance-pride has always been his biggest downfall.

KAREN ~ glad you liked it; John was not only a soldier and talented poet but he was also a physician too ... when I was a teen, I was able to go see his boyhood home in Guelph, Ontario, Canada -- as it was turned into a museum in his honor.

Prayer up-dates ~

For my surgery ~ thank you all so much, I am healing very well....most of you know it was painful for a few days but much better now. I still can't do much but I am able to walk up and down the stairs and stand for as long as I need to if I want to cook or just walk around the house for exercise....not ready for the outside world yet!

Up-date on my sister "ANNIE" ~ She met with the people that will be doing the radiation, I think they may start her next week...after just 2 chemo sessions...they said 6 weeks of Mon-Fri sessions of radiation...showed her where and concern that it is close to her heart. Her hair is falling out fast so she shaved her son in law gave her a buzz cut yesterday but the rest came out in the shower. I talked to her today for a long time on the phone (saw her friday) she wanted a very EZ stuffed cabbage recipe I have.

That sounds like a really tuff regime that ANNIE is going through; probably a good idea to just shave the hair off and get it over with: it will grow back in later on. ^Prayers^ will continue for her all through her treatments. Wow, she is up and cookin' already -- that's great!

GARY ~ Nice of you to share your EZ cabbage roll recipe with your sister. Do you have a place called M & M's down there? This place makes really nice homemade meals and flash freezes them, and for a decent price so you don't have to cook all the time. That would be so helpful to someone who isn't feeling great, just to give them a break; but some people (like me) like to cook and it gives them something to do to take their minds off things.

I have one recipe where you shred the cabbage and put half on the bottom of a prepared pan; then top with your meat/rice mixture; then top with more shredded cabbage, and then pour your tomatoes/sauce over the whole thing; and bake as per usual. DH likes this version becuz he says he can chew it better than the rolls. It is called MOCK CABBAGE ROLLS.

LOL ROSEBUD!! That is MY recipe for stuffed cabbage! So EZ!! Actually it is from my mom.

My sister has her good and bad days after the chemo treatments. She tries to get out and do something every day that she can....she knows that it is to her benefit. Short walks, short car trips. I think my nieces do most of the cooking but they were all going shopping and she needed to find out what to put in it.

Here we go again...

My daughter in law fractured her finger and wrist in 3 places tumbling at the Charger game yesterday...she just called....home from her doctor...in a cast and out of cheering action for a few weeks at least...

She will be OK...but...prayers please that she will be back in action for the Bengals game on Dec. 20th...the kids are paying for her mom to come out from Florida to see her cheer...she has not been able to yet.

We also had one sad bit of news today -- that our BIL (TOM M.) who has been having heart problems isn't doing well; recently, they went to see some heart specialists, and they said there isn't anything else they can do for him.

We met up with his sister today and she says that he is losing weight now, and she expects that his time with us is limited, so we are praying for him for comfort and peace (and for his wife Denise too).

I am so glad that TOM has been a believer for a long time and through this health crisis, his wife has drawn much closer to GOD and the LORD.

Would appreciate some prayers for them ... thanks! :hug:

My sister spent most of the day with me. She showed me her bald head... I showed her my scars that, along with my belly button, makes it look like and upside down happy :) face on me!

Evidently she is not having radiation treatments just yet. I asked her today when they were to start and she said after chemo in Feb. I said I thought you said they were stopping chemo...going to radiation...then back to chemo...she said, I did...I misunderstood. So back to chemo to Feb then 6 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week. With her lupus and immune system low as it is this can't be good :(

But I tell you what...she is up...moving...visiting me (thank you Grandma Joy for dropping her off) and looking forward to tomorrow...

Gary, it is good your sister is able to stop by and see you. I will let her use my motto" I just suit up and show up" .That is my standard answer when someone says "How are you? "

I have mentioned that to her BARGOO...I sure wish she could use the computer in her house to "talk" to you!
