My favorites are Phillippians 4vs 6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition , with thanksgiving, present your requests to God . And the peace of God , which transends all understanding. will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
PHIL 4:13 ~ "I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me." as you can see in my signature ...
JEREMIAH 30:17 ~ "I will restore health unto you, and heal you of all your wounds, saith the Lord."
ISAIAH 40:31 ~ "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint ..."
There are so many positive and hopeful verses in the bible that I copied out an entire little journal book of them with headings like HEALINGS, HOPE, HEALTH, LOVE, PEACE, JOY, ENCOURAGEMENT, $MONEY$, and so on ...
Someone said that there are over 800 Glad verses in the bible; isn't that awesome? A minister could recommend one each Sunday service, and not run out for over 15 years!

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 helps me because it reminds me I am not alone in this."
"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." Colossians 3:17 reminds me who I am doing it for and to give thanks for the help He is giving me in my commitment to become healthy and thinner.
My very favorite, and really speaks to me in The Message version
Psalm 40
A David Psalm
1-3 I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened.
He lifted me out of the ditch,
pulled me from deep mud.
He stood me up on a solid rock
to make sure I wouldn't slip.
He taught me how to sing the latest God-song,
a praise-song to our God.
More and more people are seeing this:
they enter the mystery,
abandoning themselves to God.
4-5 Blessed are you who give yourselves over to God,
turn your backs on the world's "sure thing,"
ignore what the world worships;
The world's a huge stockpile
of God-wonders and God-thoughts.
Nothing and no one
comes close to you!
I start talking about you, telling what I know,
and quickly run out of words.
Neither numbers nor words
account for you.
6 Doing something for you, bringing something to you—
that's not what you're after.
Being religious, acting pious—
that's not what you're asking for.
You've opened my ears
so I can listen.
7-8 So I answered, "I'm coming.
I read in your letter what you wrote about me,
And I'm coming to the party
you're throwing for me."
That's when God's Word entered my life,
became part of my very being.
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[b]
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
Way, Way, Awesome Thread! Just reading all these amazing scriptures made me excited... It's funny, because I would read someones favorite and think, 'yeah! that ones my favorite too, then I would go to the next and think yeah that's my favorite... I love all the ones from above, but the one I think I use most against Satan, when he is tempting me is...
II Corinthians 10:3-6For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Thanks for this thread It has given me a lift tonight...
Proverbs3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
It reminds me that I cant do this with my own strength, I need His to get me through.
and this one
Romans 12:1-3 (The Message)
Place Your Life Before God
1-2 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
3I'm speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.
