Laurie, what a good idea! Making a donation to the food pantry is such a blessing to so many. You are right...it's good stewardship of God's blessings!

My Church ministers to the homeless and poor here, and about 70% of our congregation fits that description. We have an annual Thanskgiving tent revival and Christmas on the street...as well as the Mission Thanksgiving drive that Arrow Ford lets us do on their parking lot with tractor trailers collecting donations. We have an area food bank here too, and as with most every other place, they always need help.

Woohoo Aggie....30 pounds down! I need to get off my duff and crank out some good numbers myself! Congrats to all who have done so, surpassed goal etc.....what an inspiration!

I'm off to sort laundry, spot clean, do my devotionals and perhaps snag a power nap before work. I got up at 2:30, but I was down for the count at 8:00 PM.....so had some good rest.

Not much going on here today, but still don't have much time to post. DH is off and going to be putting new brake cylinders and shoes on DS2's car, so I'm to be "available"

Thaks every one for the congrats, truly appreciated. Something came to my mind today (WOW), and that was, I was always saying I lost such amount of pounds or that I was losing weight, and it hit me, words aout of our mouths are life, and figured I need to change my speaking on my weight. If I lost the weight, I can find it, and Lord knows I do not want that. LOL So, I think I will start saying something like 30 pounds gone forever. Can you guys and dolls help me to come up with something a little better? Would really appreciate it.

Laurie and Bren, those things your community and church's are doing are fantastic, outreach programs are wonderful. Meet the people at their point of need. My church does this also, this Thanksgiving we had the great turkey give away. We gave over 1500 turkeys away and all the fixin's that go with it to make the meal complete. The turnout was amazing. I love the church's that actually walk the walk and not just talk the talk. That is why we are here, to spread God's Word and to be a living testimony. Praise God.

Ronni, my prayers are still going up for the folks in ND and MN. When I saw on the news of all of the volunteers who went to help, I could only rejoice!! Our God is an awesome God and yes He reigns.

Since I have my 5 pound guarantee thread always going how about focusing on your next 5 pound loss...each time...with something along the lines of losing 5 to stay alive!

Baked my friend Dwayne a tool box cake for his bday. I ate a tiny piece. I also finally went to the gym today. Did 30 minutes of the elliptical. So, I feel better!

Hello te everyone else! Prayers are continuing for each of you

A busy day here - I spent the day spring cleaning and doing laundry. I got a LOT of little projects done. I also got train tickets and booked the hotel for the Chicago trip over Memorial Weekend! Now, to research what plays we want to see

Hope you are having a blessed and grace-filled weekend. We are supposed to get a winter storm tonight. But, given what Fargo and the south are going through, I'm not gonna complain about sleet and 8 inches of snow (well not TOO much, anyway)

TRUDY ~ 15 lbs shouldn't take too long; this is a nice supportive Christian group ...

LAURIE ~ thanks for asking about my sister NUMPSTER , she is still working long hours, and unfortuneately, didn't get the trial home position that she wanted. They gave it to another lady, but she really likes her, so although she was disappointed, she was happy for her. Maybe down the road, they may expand the program and let her have one too.

As for her health, they are going back to thinking that she may have had a mini-stroke and her doctor wants her to lose 20 lbs fast to lower her blood pressure which is too high (this runs in our family, I'm afraid). He wants her to stop eating wheat products because he thinks that may be causing some of the diahhrea issues, so we'll see. And, in the meanwhile, her DH is also facing some health problems related to work issues, and is looking for direction about making some changes there, so I just know they would appreciate some prayers for wisdom and health issues at this point.

PRAYER REQUEST ~ My step-mother who had the uterine tumor removed and the bladder cancer 2 years ago, just tested positive for more cancer cells in her bladder. The area is about the size of a quarter and they are hoping the will not spread anywhere else in her body, so we would really appreciate some prayers for her. She is a lovely Christian lady too. I am also going to put this in the PRAYER WARRIOR thread as well ... so thanks very much!

Well, I'm glad to see our friends here are slowly improving; prayers still going up for health, work, and family too. Not too much going on in our direction really. We still have lots of feather friends here and our squirrel; plus we have a mixed bag of weather, some ****and some and some low and some warmer temps, but things are starting to melt here too!
