  • to BREN and DORI ~ this is a great place for support and encouragement ...

LAURIE ~ Prayers going up for your cat that he will be OK, and that the Lord will look after him for you, as some males do wander come springtime. That LOVE INC sounds like a wonderful way to help families in need, one-at-a-time, and one-on-one in your local community.

We also have a food bank and 'New-To-You' store where you can get food, good quality clothing, and household goods for a very nominal amount of money (and the food is free): this has been a huge help and a blessing to so many people in our community. All the profits from the second-hand store goes to support the food bank and the whole town donates to both places (which are in the same building). These kinds of places could help a lot of people who have lost their jobs as well.

AGGIE ~ that was very nice of you to help that family; that is exactly what Christ wanted us to do -- help those in need in a practical way. Hopefully that young man will be well again, and can find a job to support his family soon too. Congrats on figuring out how to put up that ticker too!

THANKS GARY ~ I know ANGIE is a great cook too! I hope you were able to get some rest this weekend and spend some time with your lovely wife as well!

DONNA ~ that's a lovely poem to commerate your mother's returning home to be with our Lord! My mother passed in 1993; it's hard to believe it's been so long, but I know she is at peace and well now ...

HI COURTNEY ~ nice to see you back here; so happy for you that you found another job so quickly -- PTL!!! So much good news for you to have your PC fixed up as well. It's true that if we keep track of all the blessings and answers to prayer we receive over time, it can fill the pages of a book.

Well, we had gorgeous sunshine all day long; the temps were a bit colder but it didn't seem like it with all that sun. They are predicting more ***** for the rest of the week; maybe they'll be wrong though as they didn't expect all this sun either.

ANYWAYS, HI to all our MIA'S and all our CE friends out there; hope you have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY tomorrow!!! Take good care all! ROSEBUD

^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ...
  • Hi! Welcome to the new ladies!!! Dori - you aren't too far from me...i'm actually south of atlanta by 30 miles or so.

Aggie - well, just bless your heart! how respectable that he didn't ask for crazy stuff! we forget how NECESSARY toiletries are. You are just amazing.

I am so behind...I spent the weekend with susie (my best friend/roommate) riding around in her 81 vette. It was 71 here yesterday and just beautiful! I took a lot of pics...the trees and a cool OLD cemetary.

I primed the doors of that 'stang saturday! I'm gonna practice my welding on the old brake this week sometime...in between writing papers for school. I may make a planter or something artsy.

I am going to see Dennis today (tuesday), I hope. I don't know when this week he will go to court. Please keep praying for him. He just weighs on my heart! I'd love to hear him call and bug me for something trivial right now.

I am thinking about taking a trip to Ireland in the next couple of months. I keep feeling it pressing on my heart. It's unexplainable. So, if anyone has any tips about that...let me know. I will be going alone...as usual! UNLESS I meet Mr. Right before then! I want to go to the Aran Islands...and there is something about Galway and County Clare that I feel. Don't know what exactly. But any info anyone has regarding this...please let me know. Paris was a breeze to plan compared to going to a country where they SPEAK english! What's up with that????? I guess I knew I just wanted to be in Paris and go out to Strausburg when i went there alone...but Ireland. I feels such a STRONG need/desire to go and I'm in a quandry. Pray for me on that too.

Still seeking the laptop resolution. I think I've settled on an HP, just trying to decide do I buy or wait for my friend to sell me her 10month old one for cheap?

miss you all and love you!
  • to everyone! and to Bren and Dori! We love new people and encourage you to come back often. This is such a great place for encouragement, support, and wisdom, both spiritual and weight-related. I can't even begin to tell you how much this place means to me.

Courtney-so glad you're back! And, praise God for the new job!!!

Laurie-praying God brings your kitty back. Ours was once gone for 2 weeks when she got accidentally locked in a neighbor's shed. She came back very thin, but ok.

Aggie-It always amazes me how God provides opportunities to witness and show His love and mercy. You were a good servant for Him in your help with that young man and I know He'll bless you and the man's family.

Donna-that's a very nice tribute to your mom. It's a big step to be able to remember with joy and not as much sadness. It took me way too many years after losing my grandparents together in a terrible car accident to be able to remember the wonderful lives they had shared with us.

Hello and God bless to everyone else, too! Praying that you all have a great day.
  • Hey everybody,
Glad to see some of our lost have been found.LOL LOL I missed you guys and I am so glad you are back.
I, this day, am determined to walk by block. I have got to move more and maybe this will speed up a little weight lost. Noticed I said only once around the block, do not want to have to call a cab to get me back home. LOL And I am going to complete washing three loads of clothes. Being out of work for these weeks has not helped in my weight loss, mostly sitting at the computer, so I must get this butt in gear. Pray for Me.

Bev, Ireland sounds wonderful. You are so brave to even think of going alone, but hey we are never are we? God is always right here with us. I will be praying for your visit with Dennis today. He will be as happy as you are to see him.

    Ronni,
Hey there, how goes everything? I always like reading your posts. I was very happy that God gave me that oppourtunity to be able to help. If I were rich with money, I would give it all away to help others in need, wow that would really make me rich, rich in my spirit. What a blessing that would be, but since I am not, I will do what I can with what I have.

Blessings to all, and to all who are here, I miss you. Be back later.

    Aggie
  • Laurie- Thanks for the welcome back and the congrats. Im staying strong at 199. Im gald i havent gained any and now that things are setteling down at the new job i will be able to make it to the gym and get my focus back on eating healthy instead of eating to just barely maintain. Prayers go out that your kitty is okay and you find him.

Rosebud- So glad that you are having some nice weather. As for that 4 letter word well i hope that doesnt come true. You are so right. Just give things time and prayers will be answered.

Ronni- Thanks. Its nice to be back i really did miss everyone. Its nice to 'see' your smiling faces.

Things are going well today. Staying busy at work. When i get off i will be helping the boy with some drywalling. Ha well i will prolly be helping by cooking for him and the boys that will be over helping him. I am very thankful that i found this new job so quickly and that i enjoy it. Happy Tuesday!
  • Rosebud - thanks! Still no kitty I'm sending warmer weather your way!

Bev - prayers continuing for Dennis. A trip to Ireland sounds wonderful! I love reading of your car progress

Aggie - prayers continuing for you!

Courtney - so glad you are enjoying your new job! You sure are staying busy!

A good day here - well balanced! Missing our kitty terribly, and the other pets are really missing him too!

I made yogurt tonight. And DH wants to do some Wii sports. So I gotta fly.

Prayers continuing for all! Hope you have a blessed Wednesday!

    Laurie
  • Hi Courtney, glad you are back, will enjoy getting to know you better.

Laurie, I hope your kitty finds it's way home. Thanks for the continuing prayers.

Bev, I hope all went well with Dennis's visit. Prayers are still going up.

    Hey there Rosebud.

    Hey Gary.

Has anyone heard from Wilma. WIlma, Wilma, where are you? I miss you.

Be Blessed all, I will talk later. Hi to all of our MIA's.

    Aggie
  • AGGIE ~ Prayers going up that the Lord will help you find another job too: sorry, I missed that somehow along the way ...

LAURIE ~ the warm weather arrived late this afternoon, and is still hanging around; prayers continue for kitty!

COURTNEY ~ No ****... so far so good!

to EVERYONE ELSE ~ Hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!! ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ...
  • Is it really Tuesday? Wow! This week is flying by!! We had a great weekend with our guests. DS's friends stayed until Monday. They were no bother at all. They were gone most of the time. Our old friend that DH hadn't seen for 29 years came for dinner on Saturday. It went really well and it was sooo good to see her again. I made mushroom stuffed chicken, baked potatoes, grilled veggies and a salad. It went over really well.

Things are going well at work for me also. I've almost finished training my replacement and next week I start learning my lending position. YIKES! There will be a lot to learn but I'm up for it.

I read through all your posts but don't have a lot of time to respond to you all individually. I am praying for you guys and really appreciate all the prayers going up for me too. A huge welcome to those who just joined up with us. This place is truly an inspiration.

Hopefully I'll have a bit more time to "talk" very soon. Tomorrow is weigh in day!!

    Have a good night!
  • The visit with Dennis went well. He's in one of the worst jails in our area. Please pray for him...the cops have been known to be bad. He is going to court this week. He's in good spirits, just wishing he were in a different county!

I almost went to the hospital today (sorry for this Gary). I left Dennis and was heading to my friend Dee's daycare and i got the WORST cramps ever! I decided I would just go home (dee and i were to go get a tool mold for the b-day cake we are making my car friend-dwayne), but i listened to that little voice and made a u-turn in the middle of the hwy and went to dee's. I got there and was PASTY white, cold sweats, MISERABLE! It took about an hour, but i got where i could drive. It wore me out completely. I made it home and haven't moved from the couch!

I am exhausted now. I haven't been to the gym all week! but...with pain like this, probably best.

I'm happy to see everyone here. I'm sorry for Laurie's cat!

Send up your prayers for Dennis!
  • We need prayers please...
    Hello everyone!

I have been away again because hubby and I have been trying to save one of our kitties...

We have been told that our sweet Zeppe (cat - will be 7 in June) is very ill and so I've been running back and forth to the vets & emergency vet hospital.

Our Zeppe has Polycystic Kidney Disease... and is in the beginning stages of renal failure (only 30% of each kidney is working). And to top it off... he also has a bad heart! Dr. Anne was doing the exam and heard a heart murmur too. So not only does he have this disease (which is genetic) but he also has a genetic heart disease! Usually they give subcutaneous fluids for PKD, but because Zeppe has a bad heart - we can't right now! So... that being said, he will go on a special diet to help his kidney's along and I will just luv him and keep him quiet and comfortable till one day - he shows signs of total renal failure -or- his heart just gives out. According to both vets, he could live another few years and be fine if we can keep this under control. Or it could be only a few months... all depends on Zeppe. He had another bad episode last night and is looking very dehydrated! I'm taking him in again this morning!

This site will fill you in on feline PKD if interested:

All I can say is, I'm "overwhelmed" with sadness and so is my Joe! And when it comes time for our Zeppe to go... our hearts will be so very broken! He's the only one of the 3 cats that sleeps with us at night and has to touch and be close to you when he does! Guido cuddles, but Zeppe is our 'lover-boy' and so very gentle. Zeppe also follows us around the house and has these little chats with us, like... "Where ya goin'?" "What ya doin'?" kinda chats... We know that our Zep & his health and how long we have him to enjoy is all in God's hands... but would you all please keep us in your prayers?!

Well, I gotta go... I can't see what I'm writing anymore...

I thank you in advance for your thought and your prayers!

    Lovin' hugs,
    *Always in Jesus*
    Donna (& Joe)

    Our Zeppe watching the birds:

  • Hello all!
Thanks for the warm welcomes......My heart goes out to you with the precious cats, missing and ill. I love them too, and they are a gift from God.
I can't have one where I live but I am entertained by the ones in the neighborhood and made friends with a couple here, until I was "caught". One came into my apartment very boldly...in front of the manager. He was gone the next day. It made me so sad.

I went to my Mom's after work Monday. Came home yesterday AM, prowled at Goodwill and the grocery store and lounged around the rest of the day.
Today is catch up day. Cleaning etc. I work weekends so have my off days on Tues/Wed. I like that, as I can make appointments etc. without having to miss time from work.

I'm off to get my day started.....the sooner I do..the sooner I finish!
    Have a blessed day all.
    Bren

  • Hello to all,

Rosebud, I should explain, I did not lose my job, (Thank God), I am still out on short term disability from the fall. I still may to have the surgery on my nose but the doc would not until all of the swelling is gone, Don't see him until the the 9th and if need the surgery, I will be out for another 3 weeks at least. Thanks for the prayers anyway, can never ever have enough of those.

Wilma- glad to hear from you. Happy all went well with your guest, sounded like it was a grand ole time.

Bev-glad to know the visit went well. I will be praying continuously for Dennis and for those in charge there that God will touch their hearts.

Sunny-I am so sorry about your kitty, will be praying for God to give you and DH peace in this.

Bren-it is so great you are having a good day. Find anything good while out on the prowl at Goodwill?

Sue, Sorry you are not feeling very good, but will be praying for a speedy recovery for you.

    Blessings to all,
I will check back in a little later, got to fold all those clothes I washed. Hey least I will be burning calories.

    Love,
    Aggies (AKA-Ags)
  • Bev - prayers continuing for you and for Dennis! I hope you are feeling better soon!

SunnyD - so sorry to hear about your cat! Is certainly isn't a good kitty week around here! Prayers for you and your DH as you deal with Zeppe's illness!

Bren - thank you! I laughed at your post - prowling Goodwill is exactly what I do too

Sue - hope you are feeling well soon! Prayers ascending!

Hello to everyone else! I hope your day is going well!

I had a productive day at work, and then raked for an hour afterward! All the little "presents" the dog has left this winter. NOT my favorite task! Thankfully, we have a spirea hedge that can use fertilizing, so most of it is now under the hedge.

Hope you all had a blessed and grace-filled day!

    Laurie
