I'm am having a really different kind of Saturday from the norm for me. I studied all morning and finished another module in my course. In between I put the fixings for a nice stew in the oven. Other than that I haven't done much. I feel kind of lethargic right now. Maybe a little work will perk me up.
Gary: Please tell Angie congrats from me if I already haven't done so already. She does so much with her Yoga already and to get paid for helping others is a real bonus. Laurie: Isn't it neat when God supplies our needs? You will find a tuba soon!! Bargoo: WTG on only eating one cookie. It's hard not to eat more when they're so good isn't it? Rosebud: Isn't it nice to be warming up here? I'm looking forward to seeing some green out there! Donna: My prayers are with Tori. What an inspiration she must be to those around her. Better get going before I want to take a nap. Have a great weekend! |
Rosebud - yes. ebay and Craig's List both have some possibilites. I have actually bought and sold a lot of things on ebay, so it may well be the way I end up going. Thanks for the suggestion. There ARE several tubas on the site right now - some look pretty good!
Wilma - prayers for you, girl! If you have time, maybe a walk or a quick weight session will help. I find that some extra movement usually lifts my spirits! Of course, the stew would to the same thing for me  I LOVE an oven-baked stew :) |
Hi Everyone!
It has been a couple days says I've been here. It sounds like everyone is doing well. Gary - Congratulations to Anige for her great achievement. Things have been going well. Yesterday I became a Great Aunt again for the 5th time. Sierra Lynn weighed 7lbs. 15oz. and 19" long. I went to see her today. Of course, I think she is beautiful. Tomorrow is my birthday. After church we are going to go out for dinner and I get to choose where to go. I really want to go to a Mexican Restaurant, but I'm not sure that will be good for the diet. My kids won't be to excited, but the rule is the person who has the birthday gets to eat where they want to. My kids always pick Chinese which I don't care for but am learning to like. I'm sure they'll find something they like. A few weeks ago I had requested prayer for the situation at work with my bosses brother. I found out via the bosses wife that the boss and his brother had a heated meeting. I'm sure I was brought up because the brother is treating me much better and not pushing me and interrupting me in the middel of my work. Thanks for all of your prayers. Have a good evening. Kathy |
Man I am mad....I just posted to a thread that has disappeared! I had Angie...my Bible and my thoughts going hard for an hour to post and whammo....dang!
KATHY ~Usually the chicken fajitas are fairly healthy....keep in mind it is just ONE meal...oh and :bday2you: I am so far behind.... Church tonight....gonna catch up...I promise :) |
Kathy ,http://www.smileycollector.com/images/lotscandles.gif Here is a virtual cake with zero calories ;)
Hope you have a wonderful birthday! Gary, I'm hoping the poster pulled it and not 3FC. I got in a post, and then went back to edit it and it was gone. And - thanks for your kind words on the wedding dress thread :D |
Happy Birthday Kathy!:gift::bday2you::woo: Have a wonderful day!
I did get out of my lethargy. I actually went to the store and walked around a bit. Then I came home and shoveled the snow off my walk. Felt great. Came inside and had a cup of lemon/ginger tea and watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It was about a woman with a heart condition. Made me really thankful that my basic problem is my weight. Have a great Sunday! |
We have ANOTHER birthday girl today ;)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONNA...aka SUNNYD :bday2you: May Donna and Kathy both have wonderful days! |
Happy Birthday SunnyD, May you have many blessings.

Hope you all have a blessed Sabbath day! We had a lovely church service this morning. Please say a prayer for Kelli - she need to know that we love her here on the CE thread and at 3FC. She had a rough day yesterday. Also, prayers needed for a family here. Their 16 year old son committed suicide last night. They are a Christian family. Their son was an active Boy Scout and very well liked at school. No one saw this coming. It has hit our community and our church family very hard. Blessings to all, and prayers continuing for you and yours! Laurie |
HI GALS ~
Waiting for Angie to do some yoga then off to the produce market. We had hoped to walk the beach route with the mutts but the rains did come in after all so we ended up doing 3.5 around the neighborhood. Guess I will have to wait for that tomato/basil/egg croissant  Got a call from nephew a few minutes ago. He said it is warm in Great Lakes and they are taking turns playing football. It is good to hear his "NAVY" voice :) Angie and I went to church last night then out for Mexican food. I blew it and didn't split my meal. I am having "issues" with my weight. I have been taking too many chances and too many "just one plate of chips and melted cheese won't hurt".....ok-ok....Scooter....and maybe....just maybe....a few too many beers....dang...busted! I have gone over my double red line...I am at 181.... mad at myself. I will get it in check! Yes, Kelli had a rough day here yesterday on a thread (it has been deleted) She certainly is welcomed here! I think we all have had times when our "Christian" sharing, of our ideas into everyday life, have been met with opposition. Sometimes because we are just not understood and sometimes because we still require growth in some of our thoughts and desires. Isn't it wonderful though that each step we take, whether it be forward or back, is a step towards becoming more Christ-like as long as HE is our goal :) LAURIE ~Prayers for the family. That is just so sad. It is not so rare to hear of these things anymore. :( Outta here for now but I will be back today...don't want to lose another long post!! |
Gary - everything in MODERATION! Though it sounds like you need a couple weeks of plain old "back on track", count every calorie, eating.
You can do this. You have done it before. But, hear me now - do it NOW before that red line becomes 185. You have done a really good job maintaining within a range. You are a shining example to many here that you can enjoy good food and drink and still maintain. So, break out the Coke Zero, dust off the food scale - or even better yet - let ANGIE decide what you should be eating. If you eat like your wife, your extra lbs. will be gone in no time ;) |
Happy Birthday SunnyD.:bday2you: Hope your day goes well!
Prayers going out for Kelli and for the family that lost their son yesterday. How tragic. Prayers. |
Scooter, If I ate like my wife I would starve!
|
WILMA ~ I hope the studying is going well today and you are still un-lethargic :) I just blame it on old age but no one cares around here ;) I hope the job comes in for you. Angie loves lemon-ginger tea, she has it every night. Hope the kids are well and DH is safe on the roads.
SCOOTER ~ Love the wedding dress pic....foxy lady...;) Any luck with the tuba? Sorry about the issues concerning in the "shadow" of a brother. I hope it works out. I was lucky to have a boy and a girl....and the fact that growing up and still today they are each other's best friends AND they and their spouses are best friends....my kids are always meeting up and doing things together...just them and/or their overlap of friends. It truly is a blessing...but then they aren't around much to see me....dang! ;) gotta go with Angie to Home Depot....she needs more tools! BYE~ be back.... |
:carrot: Back from Home Depot and turned the TV on just in time to see the camera pan across my daughter in law as the game went to a commercial :carrot:
BARGOO ~ How did the retreat go? Did you just R&R? How did the snacks go over? great job making them and not eating them. When I first started cooking I tried baking muffins and cookies...got good at cookies...not a good thing ;) I used to take snacks to all the kids sporting events through college...I was a hit with the cinnamon/chocolate chip cookies! :) snack dadddy :) KELLI ~ I hope to see you back here real soon. You are a blessing. KATHY ~ How did the birthday dinner go? Glad to hear things are better at work concerning the bosses brother. BEV ~ Hows things going with the friend? Dating can be such a "scary" thing :) RONNI ~ ONE! Trash truck? Heck they run about 10 through my neighborhood on trash day. I hope you got it out in time. Cool that you are getting together with the women to create interest. We have that problem here too. People used to "visit" more and "meet" at church first for activities....but those days are long gone. My ex-wife is real active with the womens groups, Angie is an active volunteer. As the economy goes I think we may see a "back to church" movement. DONNA (IWANNALOSE) ~ Prayers for Tori. CALLIE ~Prayers for your health. My sister has had lupus and mini-strokes for many years. CRISSY ~ Prayers for your DH. Several women here use the walking videos....great score! ROSEBUD ~ Glad to hear you are warm?...-4! and it's warm?...oh my :) Did you discover the water leak source? I hope you enjoyed the shopping and had a nice evening. DONNA (SUNNY) ~Don't worry about those PM's  I am sorry you went through such a tough time. It just seemed strange that you were so active...really holding us together for quite a while then....vanished. Glad to see things are better. I enjoy hearing the stories of the "kids" playing in the yard again :) Angie and I have heard birds chirping in the trees the last few days...spring is just around the corner here. Well gals, I think I am caught up. Hello to all the MIA's! and  for all ~ Gary |
