Good Morning everyone!! It's Friday!!!

I've had a couple more good days. I'm not eating in the evening at all. I keep either a glass of water or a cup of tea with me and that for now seems to curb my cravings. I am so looking forward to all this snow leaving so I can get outside to walk again. It's so icy out there right now.

I am being interviewed today for the position I've applied for. I'm not at all nervous about it because my boss and I work together really well and I know he respects me. I'm kind of hoping this is just a formality anyway. I'll keep you posted!!

I haven't posted for 2 days and already I'm behind in my reading. I will pray for you and welcome to the newcomers!

Have a great day!

ronni62 02-20-2009 10:14 AM

Hi, everyone! So glad it's Friday! Boys are feeling a little better today(DS2 ended up sick with the fever, etc yesterday too), so we may go to town just to get out of the house for a bit. I have a gift card to spend at a furniture store, but haven't found anything we can afford yet, so we may just go look around to see what's being marked down;) Still haven't gone out for our usual Valentine's Day splurge ($$-wise, not calories), so we might get to do that this weekend. Everyone likes Rib Crib here and everything's grilled, so easy to stay on plan.

Courtney-good to hear from you. Sure hope you can get that internet issue fixed soon and prayers for the job situation. Also, I think I forgot before, but :congrat::woohoo::cp::cp::cp:on making onederland! That's great! I'm so close I can almost taste it, but just can't seem to get there (yet).

Counting-awesome on your workouts and running! Keep up the great work! And, never fear, the weekend is almost here:carrot:

Aggie-another 1.8 gone!:cp::woohoo:

Wilma-prayers for your interview today. You'll do great! I also can't wait until it's warm enough to walk outside. The snow and ice spots are to treacherous to even try right now, but what's that I hear? Oh,yeah, the treadmill in the basement is calling my name:p:lol: Good job sticking to your plan!

Hello to everyone else too! Prayers for a safe, happy day!

Justwant2Bhealthy 02-20-2009 03:11 PM

 HI EVERYONE ~ a very strange thing happened just now; I logged in and I was bounced over here and a post box opened up without me even requesting one. Guess the Lord wants me to post in here right away ... ;)

The day started off with some more snow, but the sun keeps peeking out every now and then. We are just staying home today though; not much that we need right now anyways. I came in to read my emails and wrote some letters; did my devotions; and said lots of prayers for those with needs as I do each day.

WILMA ~ prayers for your interview today; and that the Lord will bless you all day!

RONNI ~ sending up more prayers for DS2 & DS3; for those fevers and bad flus. You are out shopping and we are trying to downsize; but we do have plans to look for an electric fireplace very soon (you get the warmth and the ambiance without the work or mess :D). I have been wanting one for a very long time, so we have decided to buy one this year. We may get a small stove type for now as they are on sale and our livingroom is small; but get a real fireplace type later on: we are still in the deciding phase. Then we could put one in the livingroom and one in the bedroom to keep us cozy.

AGGIE ~ prayers continue for MALACHI & MORGAN that the doctors will be able to help him and that the Lord will touch him with his healing grace! I have heard of two other things that you can give a sick baby: one is BARLEY WATER (barley boiled in water; drained and cooled and feed them the water broth). The other is Almond Milk, which you get at a health food store (but make sure it is pasteurized before giving it to a baby). Did you say they tried GOATS MILK already??? It could be the flu but if it is an allergy, Barley Water might stay down better; and almond milk is made from nuts instead of milk.

LAURIE ~ that's my problem, my knees give me pain if I walk or exercise too much; so I have to pace myself. I can only dream of being able to speedwalk at this stage. ;)

:congrat: to all those who have lost # this week!!! HI to everyone else; hope you all have a great weekend!

^^PRAYERS^^ going up for you and yours ...:hug:ROSEBUD:hug:

Satisfaction 02-20-2009 03:34 PM

Good Afternoon everyone!!! And Yay! it certainly is Friday, Praise the Lord... hehe... How has everyone been? I have felt really great lately but have been bad in keeping up with cooking proper meals at home. So much going on for the first month living on your own I guess. I have to go shopping at Safeway tonight and not sure what food to buy. I'd love to go to subway but I probably shouldn't eat out anymore for a little while. I have had pizza and junk way to much lately. I want to get back in the habit of going to going back to the gym as exercising feels amazing!!! Such a good feeling to feel exhausted after and I feel I sleep better too!.

I CANNOT wait until I can start biking again. So much snow in winnipeg and I want it to be nice cool weather with no snow. Not looking forward to seeing those darn mosquitos again but I guess its fate. I have a digital scale at home but I don't like it very much I think I'm going to buy one of those non digital ones as the one I have which is a weightwatchers one seems to not be 100% accurate. I can get on it once and its a certain weight and get on it 15 seconds later and the weight is changed. I don't know if I'm the only one that has this issue? Lol.

ronni62 02-20-2009 05:14 PM

Satisfaction-yeah, some scales can be weird. I usually weigh 3 or 4 times within 5 minutes and average the readings, as my scale never reads the same 2 times in a row (it's digital, too).

Rosebud-we're actually trying to downsize too, but I hate to waste $110 from a furniture store. We've only gotten to buy 3 pieces of truly new furniture in 18 years of marriage-everything else has been 2nd hand. We've never had a headboard for our bed and I found one that I really like for exactly the amount on the gift card-can't believe it! Now, if DH likes it:crossed:we'll be set!

Hope you all have a great evening! :)

CountingDown 02-20-2009 07:39 PM

Aggie - :congrat: on the loss! AWESOME!

Annie-Rose - We are glad you are here too!

Wilma - good luck on the job! Let us know how it comes out :)

Ronni - glad you are feeling better! Have a good time with your V-day celebration this weekend!

Rosebud - I hope you enjoyed your quiet day at home. I hope your leg is on the mend as well!

Satisfaction - I'm with you - I can't wait until spring!
My old scale did the same thing. I learned to just jump on it once and use that weight (well, most of the time, anyway) ;)

A good day today - I took extra time at lunch to meet with a friend who is struggling. She is in the ministry and has had a hard week. I am glad that I could be a comfort for her :)

I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Prayers ascending!

Rayne 02-21-2009 10:15 AM

Just was able to get on...
My laptop is still dead, as far as I know. I need to call the guy today.
My roomie, Susie, is getting her dirt bike out of the shop today. So, after I speak at the shelter...we are riding!!!! Please pray I don't hurt myself...

Prayers for everyone and for Morgan and Malachi...

I am missing ya'll since I can't get on all the time now. :(

Well, I need to get ready for the shelter.

OH! I had all of that biometrics testing at the gym thursday...I'm overweight. Go figure...But I was in the upper average of physical fitness! :) So, that's good. I'll give all the numbers soon.

Blessings and Peace be yours!

wilma12 02-21-2009 10:16 AM

Good Morning! It's a relaxing Saturday so far. I'm taking hubbie to work and then going fabric shopping. Another nephew and his wife are expecting a baby so that means another quilt.

My interview went well yesterday. I knew it would. There are 6 applicants and so far the ones that I know of are people I have trained with much less experience so I have a chance so far. I'll find out by the end of next week.

Ronnie: I know. I have a bike and exercise board and and exercise ball in the basement calling me too as well as all the WATP dvds I own. That was just an excuse wasn't it?? Okay, I'll go down there if you go down there too!!

Satisfaction: A fellow Winnipeger who knows my complaints about the icy streets and sidewalks. I have a regular scale and try to weigh only on Wednesdays. That's really hard though. Just remember that it's not always about the number on the scale but the way clothes feel looser on you. I have a dress that I try on as a guage. I used to never be able to get it on and now it fits.

Gotta go take hubbie to work now. Have a great day!

HI GALS ~

I have been lurking daily but not posting...so hard to keep up :) Which sure is a good thing here!

Welcome to all the new kids! :)

Angie and I went to the Farmers Market this morning for some salmon, veggies and fruit. Picked up some tamales too for dinner this week. We didn't get the dogs out for their walk yet but we will later.

Angie then went off to bell choir practice and I went and gave blood. I am up to 3 gallons now. I tried yesterday but since I had my teeth cleaned earlier in the morning I wasn't able to, had to wait 24 hours. The little gal that drew my blood knows who my son and daughter in law are. Her sister is coached in dance at the high school by my dil. She said my son and dil are two of the most popular and favorite teachers there :) but of course I knew that ;)

Had a bummer day yesterday with my truck getting things repaired and taken care of. I finally calmed down after but "hosed"...all is well. I won't bother you with details....some of you already know form other threads.

Angie has just about finished decorating and painting the new guest room. She painted all the walls, bought a used trundle bed that she made into a couch/guest bed, sewed curtains and pillow cases and refinished our son's old dresser and end table that knucklehead nephew "worked over" ;) the years he used it.

We went to Islands last night for burgers and fries. Didn't bring anything home :( so much for Friday Night Splits  Oh well...another day to plan my new journey of better choices....gotta get a few pounds down....

I know you are all getting tired of hearing that and no action taken ;)

Started a new :luck2you: 5K :irish: over in WEIGHT SUPPORT if anyone is interested....all are welcome.

Well off to start cooking up some chili for Grammi Judi's 2nd Annual Tribute next Saturday....I will get back with some personals later...

Have a great day!

mygritsconfessions 02-21-2009 03:33 PM

Hello Everyone,

I haven't been on here since I don't know when, but nice to see everyone still doing well. :D

Today is gorgeous here in Florida - 70's and sunny. :sunny: It has definitely been an unusual winter though, many hard freezes we usually don't have.

I have been doing good, and am getting ready to take the dog to the lake to fun, play and swim...........the dog, not me!! :fr:

I will check out the 5K board EZ and see if I can do it! Thanks.

CountingDown 02-21-2009 05:59 PM

Bev - glad the gym visit went well! I hope the shelter visit is a rewarding one. I know you will be a blessing to those in attendance.

Wilma - prayers continuing for the job! What pattern are you doing for the next quilt?

Gary - insert sincere and concerned lecture here - now that that is done - hope you had fun making chili. I'm sure the party prep is in full swing. How many people will you have this year?

Sandy - glad you are doing well! Send that weather north please!!!!

Doing well here. Spent the day on my declutter project - today I tackled the master bedroom. Still not done, but about 75% complete. :)

Prayers continuing for all!

Hope you are having a fun and grace-filled weekend!

Laurie

EZMONEY 02-21-2009 06:08 PM

MYGRITSCONFESSIONS ~Of course you can do my 5K! We have it set up so anyone can do it. When we first started some gals were just able to pray for others. The purpose is to get folks moving...and maybe doing something....ANYTHING...they thought they couldn't do.

WILMA ~I hope you get the job if it is what our good Lord wants for you  We all know you are qualified and the best person for it :) Looks like you are going to need Angie to come over and help you build a quilting room now :D She is pretty handy with paint and tools.

BEV ~ Be safe on that bike! Hope the computer issue gets fixed soon. Sounds like a little work is in order before the next testing...just a little!

SCOOTER ~ I am sure your lunch with your friend was much appreciated by her. How's that new mp3 player going? Since Angie started decorating and re-doing Ron's room, got her i-pod and started loading it I haven't seen much of her ;)

RONNI ~ I had the first set of furniture for my bedroom from 1974 when I bought it to 1996 when Angie and I got married and she threw all my stuff out :D We don't have a headboard either. Angie has moulding on the wall, like a picture frame, over our bed. She just re-paints or changes colors whenever she gets board....which with her and paint is often! thank goodness she is a good painter!

SATISFACTION ~ If I am in doubt or don't like the number ;) I just weigh myself 3 times and average it. The number isn't as important as the EFFORT!! Hope you get biking soon.

ROSEBUD ~ He sure knows how to get us together doesn't He? ;) I am glad you got some letter writng caught up. I got 2 new games this week, a Caroom Board shuffleboard and a bowling alley game...way cool! Now, if only the kids come by to play them ;) I will see if I can post pictures below of them.

ANNIE-ROSE ~Welcome!

AGGIE ~Continued prayers for the baby and your family  You will reach that goal in no time...you are right...He does strengthen us!

AUNT SUE ~ So cool to see you hanging around from time to time!

COURTNEY ~ Sure miss you Kiddo but we are always praying and thinking of you!

KATHY ~ POPS ~ BARGOO ~ JANNE ~ DONNA(S) ~ EVERYONE

BELOW ~are the new toys I got....they are so cheap today...$25 for the bowling game...but of course I paid $60 last week....really great quality! Seriously...these are good quality...if you are interested in something like these for your kids check them out at Duluth Trading Co. (of course where were these this cheap when I was a kid...with all the video games today....they may not be as exciting!!)

Rayne 02-21-2009 08:24 PM

Just so you all know...I survived the bike! :)

I blew eating well...wings and fries...with a coke. How am I ever gonna lose or be comfortable to MEET that man? I think I am self-sabataging...who knows why.

Susie is on a first date...she's called twice and is VERY excited. They are at the supercross.

Oh...dude has sent me another video of him playing guitar. sigh...

Here are the stats from my test at the gym:
body composition: 32.8
overall fitness: 58.3 (average is 41-60)
weight: 166 (clothes)
BMI: 32.4
BP: 126/83
resting heart: 95
body age: 45 (HORRIBLE!)

Just got to improve...any suggestions or help???? I need some kind of plan.
I'm a little blah...

colormerd47 02-21-2009 09:27 PM

Hi there everyone,
I have a hard day at night and I am so tired but I just want to say hello to all and to let you know that the new milk is working just fine thus far. What a blessing. Thanks again for all the prayers. Hope all had a great and blessed filled day. Until tomorrow, good night, sweet dreams, and stay in God's will.

Aggie

Justwant2Bhealthy 02-21-2009 09:36 PM

 HI EVERYONE ~ we had gorgeous sunshine all day today; warmed things up for us a bit. They are predicting snow for tomorrow and more sun for Monday though ...

DH went to watch the tikes play hockey today (a friend invited him); he said they were hilariously funny falling all over the place, and the girls whomped the boys of course. He said he couldn't believe how tough those girls are on the ice, as they wouldn't let anything get by them (they learn young). ;)

GARY ~ I think those games look like a lot of fun, especially that bowling game: never seen one quite like that. I bet they'll have lots of fun at the Chilifest coming up very shortly. Maybe you could have a tournie again to make it even more challenging.

THANKS LAURIE ~ we are still sorting and tossing and donating too; we are picking up another pantry cupboard this week and that should be all we need to get things organized. We will have one for linen, one pantry for food, and one for miscellaneous stuff when we are done.

SANDY ~ wow, you have temps in the 70's in the winter time; no wonder so many Canadians go down there for off season vacations.

HI WILMA ~ only about 5 weeks til the snow starts melting, but DH is concerned because we have mountains of snow here; I'm not, as I know a few days of warm sun and higher temps, and it melts like crazy ...

DH and NIKO are playing ball in the other room; NIKO is winning! :D Just having a quiet night at home. I think NIKO is a coo-coo bird as he just came zooming out here and around the livingroom and back to play with DH some more. Oh here he comes again. Oh, for a water break ...

We had homemade lean hamburglers on WW buns for dinner tonight, but NO FRIES! ;) Anyways, not much to report from here; have a great weekend folks and take good care :hug:ROSEBUD  prayers continue ...
