Iwannalose - CONGRATULATIONS on your weightloss!! Your doing great! :cheer2:
Countingdown - Thankyou for the welcome. :thanks: Ronnie62 and Justwant2Bhealthy - Thank you for your kind welcomes and prayers for my children and our house selling. My daughter has now been in Navy Boot Camp since Tuesday and my mind so wishes to know how she is, but I just have to trust God that he has her in the palm of his hand. I am blessed to still have my son here, but knowing it is only for a couple of more weeks. Our house, well it has been for sale since June and had alot of traffic, but only one offer (they weren't approved for a loan). Our price is half of what is was, but still nothing. I know God is in control, so there is a reason it is sitting. I know he has me learning patience and when he feels we are ready to relocate - we will. Patience, patiece patience!!!! :smug: I pray all of you have a blessed day. May God keep you in the palm of his hand throughout. Blessings, Sandy |
Hey Sandy!
Wow...DeLand? I know exactly where that is. We've only been living up here in TN for about 16 months. We love it here!
I go to Seymour Heights Christian Church in Seymour. They have a website and you can check it out. There are some other churches I've heard great things about closer to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg if you end up moving there. One is New Hope Church in Kodak, TN. They have a website too, and several amazing ministries. Congrats on your weight loss! You are doing so well. I'll be praying for you as you adjust to your daughter being gone. My daughter is 19, and in need of much prayer. I'll share at another time. Nice to *meet* you. Say "hello" to Orlando for me. God's blessing as you fine a buyer and move. Donna PS I did a friend's request on Facebook. I also have a blog at www.HisGraceAmazesMe.blogspot.com. I really need to update, it's been a long time. |
Skinny Cow
I had forgotten...
What a glorious 140 calories. :D |
Hello!
Donna-congrats:bravo:on the weight loss! It always surprises me when those pounds jump off after a little stall in the action, but very much a reminder to have patience, as our bodies are adjusting to this new way of life. Kelli-we're actually hoping to have a home built or get into something newer, as we've been in fixer-uppers since we got married (18 years ago) and now that DH is 50 and I'm 46, we're getting a little tired of always having to fix and upgrade things. But, we will just see what God has in store. We are very picky and haven't found a home we like, even when we look at new home plans. We're trying to take into account that I may have MS and have some weakness in my legs at times, so we'd love to have a single story home, but, of course, they are more expensive.:( Well, I have to tell you all about a couple NSVs I've had in the last couple days. We went to lunch at McD's (grilled chicken sandwich and fruit/yogurt parfait-mmmmmmm!) and I realized that my tummy no longer presses against the table when we sit in our normal place! In fact, there were several inches between me and the edge of that table today:carrot: And, yesterday, our realtor looked at me while we were checking out houses and told me my jacket had gotten way too big! It's one I just got this winter after I had already started losing weight and it just went around me at the time. Now it overlaps by 8"!!! I love my realtor, especially since she was wonderful enough to notice that! Pray that you are all having a great day. Bless you all! |

Lost Without You All
Hey to everyone! Been out for almost a week. It took me a while to read back 3/4 pages.
WELCOME to Donna and Sandy. You have found a really great bunch here. I've only been here myself since the first of the year and feel like I've had these guys as friends for ever. So supporting and very understanding. We've had a good winter blast this week. DH and 2 oldest DS home all week. AGH!!!! Ready for roads to clear and the school to reopen!! LOL!! They say we could get more Monday. Glad to here so many good things God has done for everyone. Hopefully I'll get to catch up more tomorrow. Until then Prayers and wonderful thoughts for all. Kelli - when I was a runaway counselor, I used to place a lot of kids in foster care - it is a ministry of it's own - for sure! So much need out there for good homes!
My scooter is green, and DH has a blue one. I'm looking forward to spring so I can get it out again! Donna - FANTASTIC!!!!!!! I'm dancing in my living room celebrating for you! saying goodbye to that "3" is a huge event!!!! Keep at it - no stopping you now!!! I will definitely let you know next time I am coming to town - possibly over spring break, but I'm not sure yet. And - prayers ascending for your daughter! Sandy - patience is hard for me, but you are so right - God's timing is always perfect - Ours - not so much. Ronni http://img213.echo.cx/img213/4288/tulum1mh.gif on the NSVs - you should be very proud of the progress you have made!! Check out the 2nd hand clothing stores and resale shops for something that fits you. I found that rewarding my loss with a "new to me" outfit or two really kept me motivated. It was so nice to fit into smaller things and have clothes that FIT! Busy day here - I had to work late, and I have to get some things done around the house yet tonight. Hope you all had a blessed day! Prayers continuing for all! Stay warm and dry! |
Hi Everyone!
It feel like I haven't been here forever. I did good with food today until I got home. I walked in the door at 3:55 and mixed up a box cake mix and put it in the oven, took my DS3 to his basketball game, came home and made supper, finished get the icing and jello ready for the cake, ate chicken and sausage and raced back to the school to see DS3 play his game. I've also had a couple of cookies. Yes, I fell over a little bit, but tomorrow is a new day and we'll get back OP. Tomorrow is my WI so I'm hoping I'm down a little bit. I did have a victory today. I have been wearking a size 22 pants. This morning I tried on a size 20 and they fit. They were still a little snug, but I was so excited that I could get into them. Kelli - That is so neat about you fostering. I do feel that doing that type of work has to be a calling. It is not easy and many times very frustrating, but I tried to see it as my mission field though I confess it was hard to do that at times. We will not be taking on kids full-time, but will continue to be open for respites. Iwannalose - Congratulations on your weight loss. YEAH!!! God bless each and everyone of you and have a great weekend. Kathy |
PRAYER REQUEST PLEASE ~ our BIL, TOM M.has been diagnosed with an aneurism in the bottom, front of his heart; but becuz of previous problems, his heart is too weak for normal surgery. Needless to say, my SIL is very afraid (doesn't want to be a widow just yet); she needs prayers for peace at this time. They are considering a new procedure that goes through the legs which is risky too; but TOM hasn't decided yet whether or not he wants to try that. He says that he accepts this and has peace about it: he does believe, and he is putting on a brave face and trusting in GOD's will for his health and life. Thanks for your prayers; I know they are appreciated a lot.
BTW ~ Thanks for your prayers for my uncle Tom as well; they just started a new experimental chemo drug this month that targets cancer cells only. The treatments go on one week and off for some weeks and back on again; not sure of the schedule as it is different than the old one. His cancer hasn't gotten any worse and has not spread, so that is good news, and he has been feeling quite well, even through the treatments ... PTL! :congrat: to all you ladies who are having such WLV's and NSV's lately!!! Take good care: am soaking my leg right now, so gotta go put them up for a while, as I did some ski-walking today with NIKO. Take good care all ... :hug:ROSEBUD ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ... |
Good morning all, wow it's Friday again :carrot:
A little about myself: I don't diet, I threw away my scales because they were a stumbling block for me, not that I think they are for others, but for me, I would base weather I was "good" or "bad", depending on what the scale said. I shared with you all earlier that I have been writing a Bible study for about 9 or 10 years. God has shown me some incredible things through it, and I thought I would share with you one of the many things He has taught me. Maybe it will help and encourage you like it has me. I believe it takes faith, not will power to lose weight, but God tells us to resist the devil, so What exactly are we supposed to be resisting? I had a hard time trying to figure that out. I kept going back and forth, trying to figure out, was I supposed to use will power to resist the temptation to eat? Or was I supposed to not resist at all and let God do the resisting? I asked God that question many times, and then one day out of the blue (when I was ready to receive it) I got my answer. We are to resist the attacks from Satan on our faith... We don't have to resist the food, we have to run to God when we are tempted, pray, use the Word and the Scriptures you have memorized. If I am at home or by myself I speak it out loud, if in public, In my mind. I employ God’s power, I say something like, God Satan is knocking will you please answer it with Your army, bring on Your chariots of fire Lord, and bombard the enemy. I believe that it’s not by my might or by my power but by Your Spirit, because You said it. I humble myself and submit to Your sovereignty. I trust Your will. If you still want the food after that, then go ahead, it’s okay to eat it. What usually happens with me, is I look at the food and there is absolutely no desire for it anymore. There is no emotional attachment at all, it’s like looking at a pencil or something. My Bible study is a free thirteen week study (I am still working on the last five weeks so there are eight weeks right now, but it is free. I never want to charge for it because God never charged me. I started it for me and my foster daughter, I thought it would only take two or three weeks to write haha! You can use any diet with it really. It's just sort of a compilation of scriptures. I used to think gluttony wasn't that bad of a sin, then God showed me that Satan has used food to tempt all through the ages, starting with Eve and the forbidden fruit, Esau and his bowl of stew, The Israelites and the quail... anyway it is a real weakness for us. We can't just stop eating cold turkey, like other addictions. Well I guess I better go get ready for work. Have a great day! |
Hello and good morning!
Crissy-aren't snow days wonderful:dizzy: My dad, who lives in Bright, IN, said it took him 2 hours running his pickup to chip the 6" of totally encapsulating snow and ice off of it-he actually used some kind of liquid deicer to loosen around the door to get it open so he could start it and run the heater. He missed a day at work, which he never, ever does, because he couldn't walk on the ice from his apt to get to the parking lot - thank goodness, as he had no business wanting to drive on that anyway! Hope you all get back to normal real soon and don't get any more of that nasty ice! Rosebud-prayers said for your BIL & SIL, as well as your uncle and you. Praise God for keeping the cancer from spreading. for you all! Kathy-:cp:for fitting into smaller clothing! Isn't that just the best feeling? Counting-Good idea on the 2nd hand shops! I keep hoping spring will come soon and I can get some new lighter clothing, but right now that's not too promising (again, it's only 0F this morning!). All the stores here have big clearance markdowns and I have been trying to figure out what size I'll be in 6 months so I can stock up, but I'm just clueless and don't want to have a bunch of stuff around that's either too big or still too small:lol: I heard about a couple websites where people trade things, but don't know if there are clothes, so maybe I'll get time to check that out today. Hope everyone has a great day! Hi to our MIA's, too! |
Rosebud, I just read your post, I will be praying.
