Prayers continuing for all!
Trish - I hope you get a chance to rest soon! Pack some snacks - seriously - snack bars, string cheese, crackers, fruit, baby carrots - whatever. I feel like a squirrel - I have snacks stashed everywhere. It gets really ugly when I get overly hungry!

Hi Ronni and Candy - hope you had a blessed day. Thanks for your insightful posts. They are so encouraging!

We had a beautiful day here today, so I'm off to go enjoy being outside since it gets dark so quickly now!

Blessings!

BARGOO ~ have been lifting you up in prayer ever since your tests came back. Check out Jeremiah 30:17, Malachi 4:2, and Isaiah 40:10 & 13, plus Isaiah 61:1-3 (comforting promises) ...

TACKLE ~ Congrats on the 1.5 lbs; you are doing great!

 HI TO TRISH, RONNI, CANDY, and SHY!

COUNTING ~ thanks, it was up and running in no time; this repairman is very good.

Today, we had cooler weather with some sun, and later some rain; but we still got lots done. We even got some packing and laundry done today. My DAD and SM came over for a roast beef dinner last night and all turned out well; then we had a blast playing games afterwards.

We will have busy times over the next while; we went to see another hopeful place; it looks really nice and is the right size, but they are still doing repairs and we didn't get to look inside much (just through the windows). They said they will call us for a viewing and all the info that we requested in 1.5 weeks. Dh likes it a lot and I think it will be good if it is affordable.

HOPE ALL OUR MIA'S and other FRIENDS are having a great week!!!

Take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ... esp those of you who are sick right now!!!

Hello everyone. 9/11 turned out to be a slightly tragic day for my family. I have a quick prayer request. My grandmother was admitted to the hospital yesterday for having an aortic aneurysm. It was almost 10cm long which if you can imagine is very large and she is lucky to be alive right now. She has bled out most of her blood supply and they just keep replacing it. They will not let her wake up right now so they have her heavily sedated and has chest tubes. We are playing a waiting game right now to see what happens. Please pray for her. I dont want her to be in pain and suffering, but deep down i honestly feel like it is not her time to go. She is fighting so hard to stay with us.

bargoo 09-12-2008 09:13 AM

Candy, praying for your grandmother.

ronni62 09-12-2008 10:16 AM

Hello, Friends!

Candy-prayers for your grandma and family. It's very hard to see loved ones suffer. You are not alone.

Keeping Rosebud, Counting, and Bargoo in my prayers for blessings with health, homes, and time to get things done!:hug:to you all.

Trish-prayers for your busy schedule too! Sorry about your friend's mom. I'm sure she appreciated all that you did to help. It must be a joy to be able to sing well (a CD in the works sounds very exciting!). I don't sing well at all, but Dad and sis do and I've always been jealous-bad, I know.

Sending prayers for travel mercies for Gary. We've missed ya!

Today is football day again, but also DS3's 12th birthday! Trying to make a special time for him before the game tonight.

DS1's 27th b-day was Wed. so it's been an expensive week! Unfortunately, DS1 has been cut back severely on work hours and needs to find something else, but he's having a very hard time finding something full-time. Trying to help him and his family out, but also need to find a cheap, fuel-efficient car for DS2 to go back & forth to school in. Just doesn't seem to be enough $$ to go around right now:( But, I know God will show us what we need to do and where to cut the budget!

Since I've been stalled for so long on the weight loss, I'm going to go back to counting calories. This is something I've struggled with, because I always feel obsessed with the food and the numbers, so I've got to overcome that issue. But, I really need to get this weight off-I just hate what I've become(not that I was ever thin-I've always joked that I was born fat!), but I can't believe I got to the point I'm at. I'm just so tired and fed up with the pain in my back and knees.

Well, have a great weekend everyone! I hope you all have time to relax and do things you want to do instead of things you have to do!;)

Shy Moment 09-12-2008 10:36 AM

Candy
I am so sorry. Will keep you and your grandmother in my prayers.

Justwant2Bhealthy 09-12-2008 02:44 PM

CANDY ~ sorry to hear about your grandmother: prayers already on their way for her and peace for your family.

THANKS RONNI ~ really appreciate those prayers for a home. A sweet Christian friend of ours called last night, and they are going to come and help us move with their trailer when we have a place secured. They have been looking for a place for us; sending us tips, and have located another one that we will look into this weekend. May GOD bless them and all of you for your kindnesses too.

Will send up some prayers for your family's needs also. Up here in Canada, the real job growth is in the service sector, esp large retail and department stores; and restaurants. Some people find it helpful to get a second part-time job in one of these places (which pay really well now) to make up a full-time pay; I had to do that for awhile and it helped a lot. I actually enjoyed working in stores; one of my most favorite jobs ever.

Here these jobs come up most often: pumping gas, retail stores, chain food (like donut shops), and fast-food restaurants. It comes down to whether you want to eat or not ... priorities, right??? Can DS2 take a bus or ride a bike; my DH rides a bike whenever he can around the neighbourhood. Many people here are getting regular or Electric bikes; or MOPEDS and SKOOTERS like COUNTING to go to work and so forth; a lot cheaper than a car.

No Problem, BARGOO ~ When I was very sick a few years back, I started a small journal book (5" x 7") of Positive Promises from GOD's Word with headings like HEALTH, PEACE, JOY, LOVE, DO NOT FEAR, BLESSINGS, GLAD VERSES, and so on. I keep that little book with me all the time along with my bible. Not only did it help pass the time while I was bed-ridden, but it gave me such comfort along with GOD's Word and some soothing music too; and I got better!!! :D

COUNTING & TRISH ~ prayers for both of you for your very busy lives; good health; and lots of responsibilities too! TRISH ~ your work with the ladies in prison is as awesome and important as those like COUNTING & TACKLENURSE who do work with children.

GOD impressed on me a few years ago (while I was sick) that He needed more people to be PRAYERS WARRIORS as the world is in terrible need right now; and I had the time for that. I also noticed how often the Word mentioned those languishing in prisons, so I started praying for them too. Of course, GOD also wants us to help the poor, the widows, orphans, and anyone who is oppressed in any way; and to give priority to our own families and fellow Christians for support and nuture.

Sometimes we think that we can't do much for the Lord, but there is really a lot we can do right from our own homes today; and every thing, great or small is important to the growth of the kingdom of GOD.

I am spending the day doing some more packing; going through all our linen and such; and my clothes as well. I hope to pack at least three boxes and some bags each day so that should be a great start. Today, I am focusing on things we don't use all the time.

HELLO TO ALL OUR MIA's!!!Take good care everyone, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ...

Candy - Prayers ascending for your whole family! Keep us posted on how she is doing!

Ronni - prayers for your son! It IS hard for our young men these days! (DS2 is home with us and job hunting).

Rosebud - you ARE a prayer warrior. You are an inspiration to all of us. You are also blessed with wisdom and patience and pereverance - you have many gifts and graces that you use to glorify God! Hope the house hunting is over soon!

I'm glad it is Friday, it was an exhausting week. But, it was productive, and I helped a LOT of teachers get settled into their technological routines. I gotta get some chores done this weekend however, things are starting to pile up.

Hope everyone has a blessed weekend! Hopefully Gary will pop in. I miss him and all of our MIAs.

Today I really hate the rain. I had a ton of stuff I wanted to do outside and now it is down poring and going to do this for a few more days. I was hoping to catch a break between the rain drops today since it rained all yesterday too lol. Guess I will go in and make chili. for me and BBQ pork for the kids.

Shy Moment 09-13-2008 07:48 PM

Counting
I am feeling great. I have to be careful with the knees as far as exercising goes but just day to day stuff I am just about right as rain. Ohhhhhhh I didn't mean to say rain lol we have had enough rain in the last couple of days to last us years and years lol.

Justwant2Bhealthy 09-14-2008 10:42 PM

HELLO FELLOW ENCOURAGERS ~ it seems that it is raining over most of North America. We had a storm last night and it rained on and off all day, but tonight after dinner, it cleared up and the sun came out: hope it stays for awhile. It's nice that it's clear so we can see that beautiful full moon out there tonight: kinda like GOD looking down over us all, saying ... Everything is gonna be alright!

HI GARY ~ nice to see you back; hope you all have a wonderful 'Going Away Bash' with your family and your nephew. Our prayers go with him even though I think he'll just be in training at the start ... lol!

COUNTING ~ thanks for your kind words; we appreciate having you here, and you are a great prayer warrior too. We're still looking for a place; I sure wish it was a faster process, but we have to be patient I guess, and TRUST GOD. We have a couple of places to see at the end of September (have to wait for tenants to leave first). There is one place in particular that we would just love to have, if it is affordable for us; but it's in GOD's hands, for now.

We had a nice visit with my DAD and Step-Mom; they left for home today as my DAD has to have tests to see if there is a blockage in the veins in his neck. He has a heart condition and was sick with a bad bug (a flu that felt like a cold at first); he doesn't really need that right now, and we want him around as long as possible.

We did get some packing done this week and our livingroom is getting full of boxes; couldn't believe how many boxes DH filled just with his hobby stuff. Yikes, do we need to downsize or what; it's aweful how much stuff you can gather after 16 + years ~ lol! Good thing that we sent some stuff to GOODWILL last winter ...

Hope everyone is having a rested weekend; take good care of yourselves, your friend :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: Remember, ^^PRAYERS^^ are ascending for you and yours ...

Shy Moment 09-14-2008 11:21 PM

Finally the winds have stopped. Didn't really have any rain but my the winds. Not as bad as some places they only got up to 70mph. Went without power just long enough for me to get the darn generator hooked up and running and the power came back on lol.
