Hi!
I've been reading your posts, I'm new in your forum but I've been around 3fc since January. I kept thinking I would pop in here and check it out but I get wrapped up other places and then run out of time. It just dawned on me by reading in here that I have placed all my trust in God for everything but this, losing weight. Not one time have I prayed about it. I just went to the Dr. yesterday because I've been feeling crummy, so I'm having some tests done but again not one prayer have I lifted up to Him about it. So now I guess I have something else to put on my prayer concerns for this evening. So glad to see people coming together in His name for encouragement. Thanks, Trish |

This is what I say to everyone. When you think you are on this journey all alone. When there isn't a person in sight to give you encouragement. Remember, God is right there beside you. Usually yelling. PUT DOWN THAT CANDY BAR. Through him all things are possible and I would have never accomplished what I have accomplished so far without him walking every step with me. Here is a pic of my latest hook rug. |
Trish - :welcome: Glad to have you with us! It is one of those "duh" moments, isn't it! We forget to go to God with the everyday things that frustrate us the most. We save God for the "big" issues, and forget that God wants to bless us and help us will ALL concerns and trials that we face.
Shy - that rug is gorgeous! I haven't hooked a rug in years.! I don't think my arthritis would let me these days - but - girl - that is AMAZING! and I LOVE the hamsters comment! Rosebud - SO glad to hear that you are enjoying NIKO so much. What a wonderful blessing he is to both of you! Gary - thanks again for your efforts on the 5K. It was fun!!! I'm hoping the May event will actually be snow-free here in Michigan (but, then again - knowing our weather...) Doing well here - lots of church and work activities keeping me hopping. Trying - very slowly - to work in some spring cleaning. Our youth are having a yard sale at church the middle of may to raise funds for their mission trip this year. I'm TRYING to help along the cause AND myself by thinning the clutter. I gotta ratchet it up a notch or two though if I am gonna get done in the next month. Hope you are doing well and staying POP! Blessings and prayers continuing :D |
Counting
There are days I can't do it but I sure do it when I can :) |
:wel3fc: TRISH ~ I pray for strength and help each day from the Lord for everything in our lives. I am doing my best and I'll let GOD do the rest!
SHY ~ funny that you should say that ... the other night DH took NIKO for his evening stroll and he did his bountiful "duty" right in front of a neighbours place. The neighbour across the street called him over and said you'd better not let him see your dog do that again cuz he'll get quite hot about it. I said to DH 'then where are we supposed to take him?' One of our neighbours picks up his doggy's dodo and throws it on the road so we all can drive thru it: isn't that nice??? Dh said that he just put it in the ditch, which I think is owned by the government, right??? LOL!!! You did a wonderful job on that rug; I used to do those myself many years ago; haven't done one for such a long time. I like projects that are small like that like small crocheted throws, etc. COUNTING ~ we are enjoying NIKO a lot, but he has one naughty habit of wanting to chew my antique furniture (my 100 y/o piano, almost as old grammaphone from my Dad, and my oak dining table set) :nono: so we had to go get lots of chewy toys. Today, we picked up some PIGS EARS AND COW'S HOOVES (never heard of these before); after I had a good chuckle, I thought 'what the heck, I'll try anything to see if they work'. LOL! WE had a very busy day; my eyes are fine, but poor DH had to endure painful and gross needle procedures in his eyes, but they did find the problem ... his tear ducts were completely blocked. I'll reserve the gorry details (which I explained in the Physically Challenged thread for those who like those kind of things) for now. He says that despite what he went thru his eyes aren't hurting anymore, so that's good news. We then ran some errands and picked up some dinner to bring home. Then we all had a 2 hour nap becuz we both have come down with another flu; and we have been getting up very early with the "new kid" who wants to go out at 6 to 7 am: we are trying to extent him to 7-8 am if we can. We had a good day and stayed OP too; take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ for you and yours continue ... |
Rosebud, Please be careful giving the pigs ears and cows hoofs to your Niko. My vet doesn't like them at all because they break off and cause problems inside. You might want to check and see what your vet has to say. I stopped giving them to mine. I also found a good Natural dog food. It is called Canidae and is so good for them. My cousin raises Labradoodles and this is all she feeds her dogs.
Hello to everyone else-- Just wanted to pop in for a minute. I'll try to catch up later. I Like Dancing With the Stars so will try to get back |
KAREN ~ I didn't know that; I wouldn't have even bought them if I thought they would hurt him in any way. Will stop that until I have a chance to talk to the Vet. What about those rawhide bones? All these things are in the pet stores so you think they are all OK ... thanks for the info ... will check up on that ... :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:

Rosebud, I would check with your vet before giving him those things. Just get his opinion on those different things. I use to get the "greenies" for mine but then they came out with a study and found those were bad... Supposedly they have reformulated them now and they are safe to give, but I still don't--- Have you tried the Kongs? You can fill them with "treats" and it keeps them busy for a long time. Karen

You are to clean up after your dog. Sorry to say this but it is true. I sure don't want the stuff in my yard lol. I don't even let my own dog do her business out in the yard and leave it lay there. I go out and clean it up. Can you imagine the kids outside playing in the yard and getting into the dogs business lol. That rug was a two month project the thing is huge lol. I just don't take very good pics. Please don't give the dog cows ears and things like that. They can break up and be choked on and cause internal problems. My vet and the vet before her swear by two things. Eukanuba and beef bones lol. Our lab is 14 years old and in great health we have been told. I will pay for the eukanuba over any brand I have ever heard of :) Sounds very painful but I am glad his eyes aren't hurting anymore. Found out son has a cyst on his tail bone. Have to call docs tomorrow to see who will operate on it. Just what I wanted to have to look at the kids bum to keep the thing cleaned out after they take care of it. I haven't wanted to see his bum since he stopped wearing cloth diapers lol. |

I can't believe that it's been 3 days since we got back from our weekend away. We had a fabulous relaxing time. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I've been married 29 years!! I have been blessed.
We stayed in a lovely chalet and cooked all our meals together. Very romantic. Here's a pic of where we stayed. There was still too much snow to do a lot of hiking but did go for a couple short walks. Attachment 28904 I've been having the munchies this week and need to get that under control. It always happens at TOM and I need to not have things in the house that I crave. Veggies just aren't doing the trick. We did get a bit of walking in while we were gone but didn't get to hike much because there was too much snow on the trails. We plan on visiting the area in the summer. Have a great day! |
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the welcomes and encouragement. I took time last night to pray for those things and felt so much better and this morning I can already tell my mindset is different. I made cinnamon rolls for the kids and let me tell you I Love Cinnamon Rolls!!! I wasn't even tempted. I did my reading and devotions this morning and put myself smack dab in the middle of His will and I'm glad I did. I really was thinking "Duh", I give all the other junk to Him, why not this. I am feeling poorly this morning, I woke up with the dizzy's, I have these episodes every so often, sometimes they are really bad and lay me low for a few days and sometimes they just make me feel like ca-ca for a few hours. I'm hoping this is one of the few hours deals. I'm gonna go lay down and rest for a bit and see if this thing will pass me by, I've got a jail service this Sunday and I don't want to miss it because of this craziness. Thanks again, Trish:dizzy: |
Hey EZ...Mitchypoo...doitforme...wilma...
It's been quite some time since I checked in to the site...and alot has happened in my life. First, are any of the members still active such as those above. I forgot the lady's name who gave us the beautiful signatures. EZ, I see you are running. Good for you. You and your lovely bride look great together. I hear from mitchy from time to time via e-mail. I mean it, someday, I will get to CA to meet her. In the past 1.5 years, I divorced Gary (best thing after much prayer) and live in an apt (my tree house). I have tons of friends, lost 30 pounds, dated a tad and work out at the gym quite a bit. I did NOT take on running...ouch to my knees and joints...I play on the elliptical machine...my new best friend. lol Anyway, it was great checking in and reading some of the posts. mkay |
WOW! MKAY!!! is that really you! Good to hear from you...it was Donna that did the signatures...we miss her too...so...what's up with Michelle?...or tell her to come and visit with us....come on back...sorry about you and Gary...I remember it was a difficult time for you! Hugs ~ Gary

Hi all - hope you are having a POP day! I'm down another lb. (probably won't change the ticker until the weekend) which puts me in a normal BMI range. :woohoo: I'm celebrating by ordering another couple workout DVDs. Boy, have things changed from a year ago.
I use Iams biscuits for the dog - for chewiness, we used dentabones. Though my shoes were a favorite for a while :( Wilma - glad you are back and had a great time - the chalet looks wonderful. Our anniversary is in Dec, so all of our pics look like that :D Rosebud - hope you and DH are feeling better soon! mkay - nice to meet you! Hope you will come back sooner next time :D Trish - oooh - cinnamon rolls are one of my trigger foods. Good for you! Shy - you can come clean my yard when you are done ;) Actually, I am blessed that DH does the pet cleanup - cats and dog :D Prayers continuing for all :) |
