I feel the same way. There is nothing for me to go back to. I don't do without a thing. I just make sure I stay within some general ranges I have for myself. Everyday we need to remember those words you said. Thank GOD, JESUS came and died on the cross for ALL our imperfections, sins, transgressions, iniquities, faults, flaws, weaknesses, mistakes, and errors. I thank him for that every day, so that SATAN cannot beat me up anymore with nasty, negative thoughts! What do I say to people. When you think you are on this journey all alone. When there isn't a person in sight to give you the encouragement you need. God is right there beside you. Usually yelling, put down that candy bar. :) He is there for us, all we have to do is listen. Sometimes I think we really are like children. Do our children listen to us all the time? Do they think they know best as they get older? Are our children so different with us as we are with our heavenly father. We need to listen to our heavenly father, he knows what is best for us. He forgives us and gives us chance after chance to try our best to live the life he wants us to live. We too pick up our children and help them along the way. |
Julz - :welcome: it's so nice to have you! I too have a sweet tooth the size of Texas which gets the best of me a lot of times.
Down 2 lbs last week. that's a total of 7 so far. I'm considering in joining a TOPS group that meets here locally. Do any of you know anything about it or have done it or currently are involved in a group? I sent off for a brochure but haven't gotten it yet. I'm training a new girl tomorrow... :^: hope that goes well. I've really been praying that she is a Christian. Or doesn't care about what kind of music that we listen to and that I can witness to her. I have a Zune which is 98% loaded with only Christian music and I listen to it all day long and it's such a blessing. I hope everyone had a wonderful :luck2you: St. Patty's Day :luck2you:! I'm looking forward to :easter2:, when we celebrate our Lord's resurrection. I'm off to bed, i'm WAY tired!:yawn: Here's some :dust: for you all b/c I know I need some! Love you all! :cb: Lauren :cb: |

Nice going on the weight loss. Always nice when we find a new person around us that we can talk about Jesus with. |
Hello y'all! I just found the 3 fat chicks, yes, I'm a newbie.
I'm getting ready to start another diet, I'm going to try the 6 mini-meals this go around. I am also going to try and stay as raw as possible...YUCK! About me: - 37yrs - always over weight...always - weakness is not eating all day and then eating at night - also battling vitiligo - want to join a prayer group believing for weight loss, helaing, and a fully healthy body Getting started on a NEW LIFE! :carrot: |
Welcome Stitch! You have found a great support group! I do the 6 small meal thing too. One word of advice from a weight loss veteran - consider making changes in your life that you can do forever. And lose the 4 letter word (diet). I can't tell you how many hundreds of lbs. I have lost in my lifetime by dieting. And obviously, I re-gained each and every one of them - plus a few more.
Probably the most valuable thing I have learned from the wise and wonderful folk here, is that I need to make changes that I can sustain for a lifetime. Shy - you are gonna make your goal! You will do it! Your tortoise approach is perfect. God rewards those that are patient and faithful! And that is YOU girl! Rose76 - congrats on the loss so far! You are doing GREAT! Rosebud - I'm right there with you on learning to eat the way God wants me to! Being faithful will all that God has given us is a challenge and a responsibility. It is also a privilege - and I am determined that I am going to be as faithful as I can, as often as I can. I'm getting there! And I'm so thankful to be sharing the journey with all of our encouragers :) Blessings to all! and prayers ascending :) |
Counting
I had my little feel bad time, happens every few months lol. I am up and feeling great again. Sure glad the down times are a few mins compaired to my up times lol. |
Shy :D
I just want you to try lifting a 50 lb bag of something this week. Then I want you to think about the fact that you used to carry that around every day. And - drum roll - now - you don't! You have accomplished a mighty thing! And you have done it right! Slowly, faithfully, and you have given more to those around here in encouragement and support than you will ever know. You are an inspiration - and a blessing to each of us :D Here's to the next 28 lbs!http://yelims1.free.fr/Alcooliques/Alcooliques11.gif |
Counting
I was at the store and looked at a 50 pound bag of potatoes. No way can I pick that up. I am pretty much a weakling lol. 25 pounds tops and I use to do that all the time and still couldn't lift more than that lol. I have no idea how I drug around 50 pounds all the time. No wonder I was so tired all the time. Thank you. You are inspiration to me. |
Counting: Yes we enjoy the churches when we travel. Most are a lot smaller than ours at home and it is real joy to be able to support them too.
BTW, I think both you and Shy are doing great! I'm impressed AND inspired! We stayed "home" today...walked for 30 minutes ...since it wasn't so windy today we even went outside the resort. Didn't walk real fast though as it was too warm (86) but we enjoyed it. Then I went to the resort laundromat as we're moving on tomorrow and it's pretty inexpensive here compared to some places. Actually I may not have to wash again until we get home...hope anyway.:D Tomorrow night will stop some place just for the night and then going on to Travis AF Base where we will say 5 days. Our dd and gs (8) and my dh's brothers and sister live near there so we will be visiting them and probably our gs will stay with us at least part of the time in the RV. |
 HI EVERYONE ~ had a good day today; kept busy writing letters and editing my pics, plus the usual daily chores and meals and stuff. Had FISH for dinner to mix things up a bit. Had nice mild temps +7C or 44F (without sunshine) and some snow tonight (3-4 inches).
:wel3fc: STITCH ~ come back and post often; that seems to help a lot. :congrat: to all who lost some lbs this week. Hope everyone has a great night; your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: |
Just
I have found I love different kinds of fish. Problem is wild is so much more expensive than farm raised is. Maryea Counting and I are like two little peas in a pod :) |
Help
Can anyone help me with my weight loss?
|
 We are having a snow storm outside right now, so you know that it is still pretty mild (around the 0c or 32F mark). It looks really pretty though and makes everything look clean and fresh.
We've been having lots of feathered visitors lately; more than through all the winter up til now? DH called me to say that a couple of SNOWBIRDS just came by; and sure enuff when I went out they were there, but then something scared them and they all left. SHY ~ I agree ... 50 lbs is a lot of weight to lose; and you aren't that far from your final goal. At the rate you have been going, it won't be too long; esp with summer coming up soon. I like lots of kinds of fish (like cod, sole, haddock, salmon, tuna); and would have it more often if it wasn't so expensive here. They had some called Talapida (sp) fillets this week for $7.99/lb but I've never had them before. I think that's too expensive. I could get two nice sirloin or a big porterhouse steak for that ~ LOL! I like fish, but I love steak more!!! We're having moose burgers or meatballs tonight; trying to make up my mind. It's just like beef, but it's ULTRA LEAN meat: you have to add in a bit of medium lean pork with it, but they are really yummy. I may just make a few burgers + some meatballs; cook them and freeze them for another dinner. :welcome: TURTLEDOVE ~ we certainly think that you can lose that weight: you have less than 20 lbs to lose. Congrats on your loss so far; you are already on your way. Come back and post often. Hope you all have a great night; take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ continuing for all ... |
Howdy, everyone!
Mooseburgers made me check to see where you were from...oh,Canada.
..only moose I ever saw was in Maine. Have had venison burger before... I love fish, but it is expensive.(Then again, I love just about everything FOOD) We can catch trout once in awhile in the stream behind our house. And, the frozen shrimp is OK around here. It IS hard to believe that we carry around so much weight with us...a 25 pound bag of potatoes must be awfully rough on our hearts...thank God we are on the right track! Congratulations to all you "losers" out there! Had a 1/2 day of work today, expected to spend time with son who is headed back to deployment tomorrow morning. He is with his children, which is where he should be...so I had some ME time! (shared with retired DH who came in from the barn, sat in the recliner, and watched the Red Sox with his eyes closed...how do men do that?) Have a great day everyone. On plan so far, except didn't get my exercise in today...Talk to you all soon. Welcome to the newbies out there!!! Prayers to all who need them. Praise to all who are making progress. Friends in Christ, Bethz |
bethz
Was a good season for deer hunting. Adds something nice to the diet around here. I love fish too but darn same for me, it is expensive if you want wild so I have been limiting it to once a week and once a week farm raised. Just We pay the same price for the fish lol. I get the salmon for 5.99 a pound when it is on sale every couple of weeks. A pound is at least 4 3oz pieces, nice size pieces even after you take the skin off ( cheaper to buy it with the skin ). That isn't so bad. Heck, 96% lean hamburger is almost that expensive lol. turtle Hello, we will help all we can. What kind of plan do you have yourself on? Are you exercising? |
Mary - 86!!!! And I'm just hoping for the ice in my driveway to melt! Wonderful that you get to spend time with your family. I hate living so far away from DS and DIL.
and yes - Shy and I seem to lose (and stall) together. We are both on similar plans and do similar things for exercise. I love having found such wonderful friends here at 3FC! turtledove - of course we can help! Let us know what type of help you need. Planning? Motivation? Ideas? Prayers? We would love to help you any way that we can! All this talk of fish, and venison and MOOSE? This poor vegetarian's head is spinning ;) A great day for me. Totally back to my routine after the Chicago trip. I skipped the donuts and the cake and the brownies and the cookies and the fudge in the break room today. I wasn't even tempted to nibble :) I'm off to work on the PowerPoint for the community Good Friday service. Seems that I have been elected on a somewhat permanent basis to put it together each year. How that happened, I'm not quite sure. Blessings to all! Prayers continuing :D |
Well the rain finally stopped here late yesterday afternoon. Yesterday morning it was tough trying to get to work, I had to turn around four times before I found a road that wasn't flooded!
I haven't had a moose burger but around here we have buffalo and deer burgers. they are alright. lol i'm not big into fish so i can't offer anything in that convo. lol i'm praying for a better day today... :cb: Lauren :cb: |
HI GALS ~
OK...I won't make promises to catch up ;) This week I started another project at work although I have a 180 mile round trip drive and have to leave the house at 4am...I get to sleep in my own bed :carrot: I am so tired of the last 2 months of hotel living! I am off work today! My son and I are taking my nephew to the March Madness basketball games at The Honda center in Anaheim...we are taking my :p son in law :p for the second round on Saturday. Should be fun :) We will be rooting for our UCLA BRUINS in the 4th game of the day...and watching the scores of our USC TROJANS over in Detroit for the Midwest. I won't be making Maundy Thursday service tonight because of the games. Our Vicar called last night to see if Angie and I could read for good friday service, we always do, I told him no problem as long as I can get through that dang  Los Angeles traffic in time. I am so happy to see new people here!! It looks like work will slow for me in the next couple of weeks, maybe I can catch up with everyone then :) Until then...you are ALL always in my prayers! ~ Gary WILMA ~ Yesterdays wed. weigh in was 173 for me...up a little...but not too bad from all my restaraunt and hotel living the last couple of months! |
Tonight we are having a Seder meal at our church. Good Friday services tomorrow and Sunrise services at 6:30 AM Sunday and worship service Sunday at 9:45 AM.a Busy few days but wonderful because of what it celebrates.

Hello, nice to see you here. Lauren I like Buffalo but darn it is expensive. Never had moose. |
Hi all a quick fly by good job everyone on their weight loss and those of you trying it can be done. It is snowing here (AHH What else is new lol) and it is the first day of spring go figure.
Moose meat is so good so is deer and fiddle heads with trout we get elk meat here from a farm that raises it it is 2.50 a pound. I buy frozen Haddock I dig till I find the cheapest one you would think living in Maine that seafood would be cheaper not! I used to like to go to Canada and buy seafood but I won't pay for the passport , Canada is only 6 miles from me oh well.I'll stay here in the states. Welcome to the new posters glad you found us post often so we can get to know ya. Please pray for my friend Karen who was just diagnosed with leukemia she has been in the hospital for 2 weeks for treatment will be there another 2 weeks we have been praying for healing and God's will be done. Prayers for you all, hang in there God is in control:hug:to you all . |
hello... i'm new to this site; i just started the South beach diet after learning I am on the verge of pre-diabetes and am insulin resistant. i was wondering why i wasn't losing weight, and now am feeling a lot better on south beach.
i thought i would check out this forum, as i am looking for other Christians to help encourage me (and vice versa of course.) so.. hi :) |
Welcome vmarie!
Prayers of healing for Karen! Enjoy the weekend solemnity and celebration everyone! Take some time to count your blessings this weekend. Friends in Christ, Bethz |
:welcome:vmarie glad you found us this is a wonderful group of people, post often God Bless Rena

Welcome, nice to have you with us. losin Will keep you and yours in my prayers. |
 HELLO EVERYONE ~ we had nice sunshine today, but it was very cold and windy; there's a lovely full moon out there right now though. We went into town to do our shopping today as tomorrow and Monday are holidays here. I got a lot of walking in and I don't feel sore tonight.
*** TODAY we celebrated our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY for quitting smoking!!! So we bought some spit BBQ Chicken for dinner to celebrate. *** UPDATE ON UNCLE TOM ~ Tom has completed his second full round of Chemo and didn't even get sick this time at all which is really great. They will be giving him therapy for two to four months they think. My aunt says to thank everyone for all the prayer support. RENA ~ prayers for KAREN are already on there way; I imagine that fish would be cheaper in the eastern provinces. Yes, I also like moose, esp for burgers, meatballs, and sausages; it is one of the leanest meats I have ever seen. Moose have very little fat; they are mostly muscle. My problem is that I think that they are a nice animal too; one we should treasure. I get concerned sometimes that they may get all hunted out. We were fortunate that a friend gave us the moose. :welcome3: VMARIE ~ I hope SOUTH BEACH plan will work for you; many people choose it for the same reasons you have. HELLO GARY ~ nice to see you back again; have fun at the games. ANYWAYS, not much to report; hope you all have a blessed weekend ~ your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ... |
LOSINIT - I will be praying for you friend. please keep us updated.
Ok, so today was pretty hectic! I worked 1/2 a day then had to do a mad dash through wal-mart. I made my Father in law a sugar free easter basket. This man is pretty stubborn and it doesn't matter how much the doctor tries to scare him into eating right for a diabetic he won't. So i bought him all kinds of sugar free candy and cookies and fruit. My mother in law kept saying "see they do have stuff you can eat" makes me wonder if he didn't "believe" in sugar free foods! lol But you should have seen him. He wouldn't let anyone get near his basket. LOL! We even put a card in there from the Easter Bunny. It was cute! After shopping for the basket we then ran to get the taxes done and Praise God we don't owe this year! With the DH being a minster they are exempt from a lot of taxes and usually we end up owing the state but not this year, we got $7 back from the state! LOL after that it was baby shower time. We are expecting a niece in June and "we" are planning a shower for the baby. It's so exciting! so now i'm elbow deep in invitations that I should be filling out! LOL Then we went to visit Uncle Bill (Zack's uncle), he is having a triple by-pass tomorrow morning. He went in on wednesday to have a stint put in but they could not do it b/c he had 90% blockage in his main artery so they told him that they had to do the triple by-pass. Please keep him in your prayers. They begin prep at 5:30 am tomorrow and it's supposed to take about 5 hrs in all, he is 67 and was a heavy smoker. Well I'm off to bed. Thanks you all! :cb: Lauren :cb: |
Lauren
So YOU are the reason I owed the state 7 dollars this year lol. I don't even want to hear how we live in different states. Sounds suspicious to me. You get 7 dollars, I owe 7 dollars lol. Just Nice going on the 5 years. |
Thank you every one for praying for Karen we know God has plans and they are good , as always you all are in my prayers . Have a great day:hug: Rena

Quick flyby - working on presentations for church services for today & Sunday. Sometimes I wish I wasn't a perfectionist - it would make these projects sooo much easier.
Hope you are all having a wonderful, spiritual, and blessed holy week! Prayers continuing for all - especially for the special requests mentioned this week! Welcome to our newest members! I look forward to getting to know you :D |

I do understand. I am having a pain across my chest if I do things like BREATH lol. Doc can't get me in since they were only open half day today and not at all tomorrow. She asked all kinds of questions and thinks I pulled something during resistance training last night. She said I could do my walking videos but nothing upper body. Not even putting my hands up and down above my head. She wants to see me Monday. Oh my gosh can you see me half doing anything. I haven't decided if I am going to do the videos at all until I see her. I know me, without thinking, I will have my hands flying all over the place lol. |
Have a great weekend everyone!
Heading in to do my DDR workout...have the house to myself for a few minutes. Have a blessed weekend everyone...Bethz
|
Shy - I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Let us know how it goes with your doctor! Take care!
|
Just home from Good Friday service...I wanted to say your concerns are in my prayers.
HAPPY EASTER GALS :easter: |
Hey Ya'll!
Shy- hahahaha yeah i'm sorry! lol
Uncle Bill is doing well, last night when we checked he was sitting up in a chair. DH hasn't called this morning yet to check but I will let you all know how he is doing once he does. I'm off to a productive Saturday of giving the doggies a haircut and baths and housework! YAY! lol :cb: Lauren :cb: |
Hello There! Happy Easter!! Sorry I have been MIA for a bit.... my Dad had a pace maker put in on the 14th. WE decided on the night of the 7th to go ahead and go back to MO. to be with the family while this was going on. So I got to spend a week with everyone and Dad had his surgery and is doing great!! I talked to my sister yesterday and she said it is like he is running on fast forward!! He had his surgery on Friday afternoon, came home on Saturday noon and we all met for lunch at a little diner. It was really nice. We decided that since he was doing so good that we would leave to come back to Colorado on Sunday (16th) We had a good trip and didnt hit any bad weather until we got to a little town called Fowler and it started raining.. By the time we got to Pueblo it was snowing and we ended up following a snow plow from Pueblo to Colorado Springs which is about 40 miles. But the roads were so bad that I was happy to be following a snow plow!
While we were in MO. our realtor called a couple times with questions from "lookers" but still nothing concrete yet. There is a man that really liked it and is planning on bringing his wife and family to see it after the first of April. They are from out of town so guess he can't get back before then. Sure hope they really just love it!! I'll try to catch up soon but I've sure missed a lot! Enjoy your Easter Weekend! |
Wow! I cannot keep up with all of you. It's great to see so many posting. I wish I had time to post more often. I do read the posts though!
I did weigh in last Wednesday and lost 2 more pounds. :carrot: I have been really trying with my eating and have been exercising more often. I have had a really stressful week at work and will probably have another one next week. Please pray for me. It's pretty tense right now. I really appreciate your prayer support and do pray for your requests also even though I don't always respond here. Thanks! It's been a wierd weekend for me as my DH is still on the road. My kids and I did spend Good Friday with my mother and that was special. But tomorrow will be a little quiet but that's okay. I haven't been getting much sleep lately and hopefully will be able to get rested before work on Monday. Take care and I will try to post more often. I really need and cherish your support. |

:egg: HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!:egg:
:bunny: We are having lovely sunshine all weekend so far, the temps are very cold and the northern winds are frosty; so we can't stay out too long without good coverage. Have only been out a bit the last two days. :bunny: Just taking it easy and enjoying this weekend; taking lotsa pics, writing letters, catching up on emails and the like. Tonight I did some reading of a Christian Novel and a couple of crosswords, while DH was watching movies (his favorite pastime in the winter months). SHY ~ sending up prayers; hope they are just your muscles. I've had a few of those myself this week (they are disconcerting, to say the least). We thought the same, or lungs from the flu; but they seem to be going away now. You're fortunate to get in to see your doctor so quickly; we have to go to the emerg at the hospital for such cases. KAREN ~ glad your DAD is doing better; still praying about that house. LAUREN ~ same for Uncle Bill; glad he's doing well. WILMA ~ will send up xtra prayers for you this week for work and for better sleep. Congrats on the 2 lbs. :bunny: Have been sending up xtra-special prayers for everyone who has asked; glad to see such good results already ... Hope you are all having a wonderful EASTER weekend. Take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ ascending for you and yours ... Attachment 28682Attachment 28681 Attachment 28682 |
Hi all!
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1...atthebunny.gif Happy EASTER!!!!!!!! I hope you are having a wonderful - Spirit-filled day :) Rosebud -glad the sunshine made it over to you :) Easter isn't as enjoyable when the sun isn't shining. Of all days, Easter should be bright and sunny! Now if the SNOW would just melt! Wilma - congrats on the 2 lbs. You are doing great! Rochelle - wow - you are so close to your goal! How exciting :D That was a great loss one week! Karen - Hope that you get an offer on the house soon! Good Friday and Easter services are behind me now, I can relax a bit. I do love the PowerPoint presentations as a creative outlet for me, but because I am so picky, they do take a LONG time to do. 5 hours yesterday to put together a 3 minute visual for the opening special music. It was well received though, so it was worth it :) And of course Easter services brought lots of folk out of the woodwork that we haven't seen since Christmas. So I had lots of ooohs, and ahhhs, over my 67 lb. loss. Good for me, but a sobering reminder that we have a lot of "casual Christians" in our congregation :( And a reminder to keep those folk in prayer as well! Prayers continuing for all of you! Have a very blessed day! |
;) LAURIE we call those C.E.O.'s....Christmas and Easter Only....but....sure glad to have them anytime!
We filled "our' pew this morning with Angie and I (when she wasn't up in the choir loft playing bells) my son and daughter in law, daughter and son in law, nephew and my ex-wife. We ate breakfast with my brother and sil and niece's, they went to sunrise then in the hall for breakfast, we met them there then went to 8:00 service. Everyone here right now for dinner....playing scrabble....my turn....gotta go! I am working out of town first of the week...see you around Thursday... Prayers! ~ Gary HE IS RISEN INDEED! |
