Good Morning!

It's a beautiful sunny morning here today. Still cold but beautiful. I am so looking forward to spring.

My DH came home after being away for 12 days. It was high time he came home and we had a really nice weekend together. He is still doing the ice roads in the north and I'll be glad when that's over too.

We went to see Vantage Point (good movie) and went out for dinner. I ordered a salad. I'm feeling much better about my eating and hope to start seeing results soon.

I took my blood pressure at Walmart and found that it's up again. Rude awakening to how I've been slacking off with the salty foods again. This reality check has me eating properly again.

I'm off to work. Have a wonderful day!

Wilma
Glad you had a nice time with the hubby. If you know it is the salty foods raising the blood pressure you are right, you need to keep an eye on that.

Just
Of course there will be Christmas in heaven. Won't it be great for the birthday boy to be right there. Wonder if we get to give birthday whacks lol.

Counting
Stop thinking like that. You will be thin, you will be in shape, you will get to where you want to get. We got to where we are right now, we can get to where we want to be. It just depends on how much we want to get there.

Just checking in. I gotta study tonight. We have an AED / CPR certification class tomorrow night at church. They want all of the leaders trained so that no matter what event is going on in the building, it will be likely that one or more of us will be able to use the equipment.

Good day for me - weight crept down a bit - after a week with no progress. The weather was warmer today - cloudy, but in the low 30s. I actually wore a lighter jacket - it felt WONDERFUL to shed my heavy wool coat :D

Shy - I'm back thinking positive thoughts again. We have come so far - I can't believe what a difference all of the walking with Leslie has made. And using the stretchie band has actually developed some decent muscle tone. DH was shocked that a piece of latex could actually do such a good job working my muscles.

Rosebud - the weather is wacky. We have had so much ice and rain this winter. Who ever heard of pouring rain, for two solid days - in the middle of FEBRUARY? No one had air conditioning in the summer when I was growing up. Now, most folk have at least a portable one, if not central air.

I agree with Shy - I think we could very well celebrate Christmas in heaven. God's gift to the earth was celebrated by angels after all :)
Wilma - it must be hard to have DH gone so much. I am very blessed that neither of us have to travel very much for our jobs. I have a conference in Chicago in a couple weeks, but DH took time off work and is going with me :)

Blessings to all - and prayers continuing. I hope our missing folk are doing well.

 We had another gorgeous day today, so I decided to go out SKI-WALKING for a little while (30 minutes or so); we did have a bit of snow but it was very light and fluffy. I wore my new parka and was toasty warm; the big hood blocked all those north-west winds for me. We had a busy day: lots of housework, cooking, and such.

WILMA ~ Glad your Dh is back home and you had a nice evening out; it seems that distance does make the  heart  grow fonder. But I have to admit that when DH and I go out, I would have had a chicken breast or something with my salad; it's hard to find good choices in our small town. We are going to try out a new place the next time we go out for dinner.

SHY ~ I guess we could pretty well celebrate anything we want in heaven; I don't know about the 'whacks' though ~ LOL!;)

COUNTING ~ you posted while I was typing. Yes, the weather is wacky lately. Some scientists are saying that this is cyclical (happens every so many 100's of years); others blame weather phenoms. Only GOD knows really ... ;)

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE ~ hope you all have a good week; your fellow encourger :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ ascending for you and yours ...

Hello every one sorry just can not seem to tear my self away from my cute baby girl. She won't stay a baby for long.Hope all is going well for every one . We are suppose to get between 1 foot and 2 feet of snow tonight . I'm so sick of snow I have cabin fever want to get out and feel the warm air on my face, wear short sleeve shirts and shorts, shed the 20 layers it takes to keep from freezing to death and jump in my kayak for a 6 mile paddle and oh sorry I was day dreaming there. I lost 2 pounds and I think I gained it back this losing weight thing is soooooo hard.Have a good week every one . You all are in my thoughts and prayers :hug:to ya all . Rena

You enjoy that little one. You are right, they don't stay little very long. You turn you head, blink and they are out of high school.

I can see heaven now. I sigh and go and clean the windows. Hey, someone has to do it lol.

It happens to all of us, the blues. For those that the weight comes off fast it is a bit easier I think. For those of us that it is 1lb at a time. Some days are diamonds and some days are stone. You just remember, a diamond use to be and old chunk of coal lol. I have started using the walk away the pounds belt for the walking workouts and the stretchy for the toning exercises. I think I get more out of using the belt for the walking videos. Yes, it is amazing that that little stretchy band really does make a difference.

CountingDown 02-26-2008 09:30 PM

Shy - I like the walk belt too. I had to shorten the tubes though. My arms are so short compared to the rest of my body. I noticed Leslie tied knots in hers on the 5 mile video. Gave me the idea to do the same.

Losin - Oh, savor every precious minute. Shy is right - you blink and they are grown. I was blessed to be able to be a SAHM until my youngest was in school. Then, I went to work part time at the same school the kids attended.

Rosebud - we got those winds too. Our windchill is around 0 F right now - brrr. Glad you have been able to keep ski walking. It is really icy here (no new snow) so it is difficult but doable. DH is using his poles to walk to work every day.

Good day here! Very busy at work, and we did a CPR and AED certification course at church tonight. We got a grant to get the AED and then all the committee chairs and church leaders were trained to use it. I'm glad I know how, but I pray that I will never need to use it!

Hope you all are having a good week! Prayers continuing :)

I did the same thing. The resistance just wasn't enough. A couple of knots in each of them and they are great now. Glad things went well at the testing.

Popping in here real quickly before heading to work. Today was weigh in day and I am down 2 lbs. :carrot::carrot: i decided to get serious about my eating and I had been eating way too much sodium and for some reason that causes weight gain for me. Hopefully this trend of loss continues. Now I just have to get more active. With the weather warming up it'll be easier to get out and get walking!!

Have a great day.

Justwant2Bhealthy 02-27-2008 03:55 PM

 We have been waking up to beautiful sunshine this week; very blessed and grateful for that. Been keeping busy too: income tax return and bills yesterday; and regular weekly house chores, laundry, and so on. SWEETIE is hanging in there, but she needs a lot more attention now and that takes a lot more time each day.

I've decided I'm getting DH his own DVD player for his birthday this year; then I can have mine back to do my WATP and exercise programs more often. He keeps sneaking it into his den to watch his movies and shows, and it never makes its way back home again ... LOL! ;)

WILMA ~ :congrat: on those 2 lbs; I know how you have been hoping for a long time for some movement on those scales.

RENA ~ summer will be here before you know it; and you'll be out on the water again. The snow has slowed down here a bit for now, as the temps fell hard; didn't get what they predicted: yeah! We have enuff anyways.

UPDATE ON UNCLE TOM ~ they found out what was causing all his stomach ailments; he did indeed have a blockage in his intestines, but he is well now. They have found another kind of CHEMO THERAPY for him that doesn't make him sick; it slowly goes into his IV tube over a few days. So far, so good; he reports that he feels great. Want you to know that he is now praying with his wife every day: she is ecstatic about this new development in his spiritual life. She sends mega-thanks to all for your prayers; she is very grateful, and is also feeling so much more hopeful as well.

Have a good day everyone, from your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug:^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ...

That is such great news. Glad he is doing better and has let Jesus into his life.

Wilma
Nice going on the weight loss.

Shy Moment 02-28-2008 12:25 AM

I could feel how happy you are as I read your post. Isn't it great. The things that change in life as we gain more control. Can't wait until this summer when you tell us you are walking and jogging around with the kids.

wilma12 02-28-2008 08:52 AM

Way to go Eltigre!! I love watching Biggest Loser. It is very motivating. You're right - if they can do it so can we! I am working my way up on the exercise bike. Usually by 5 minutes (not very long I know) my legs feel like lead. The other day I decided to push past that and ended up doing 15 minutes!! I had been talking to my kids while I was doing it and the time just flew by. I also did arm movements so I got a bit of upper body that day too,.

Way to go!

CountingDown 02-28-2008 09:58 PM

Rosebud - great news on Tom! We will keep him in our prayers :)

eltigre - WOW - congrats girl! That is AWESOME! I hear you on the missing out feelings. That is what finally opened my eyes to what I was doing to myself. When I couldn't keep up while visiting my kids, I finally realized that my quality of life had really deteriorated because of my weight. Keep it up - you will be running the whole 30 minutes before you know it :D

Wilma - awesome work on that bike! I have a hard time on a bike or treadmill - they are so boring. I listen to audio books and that helps, but not enough. I really admire anyone that can stick with it!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! Blessings and prayers continuing :)
