  • Hello all sorry it's been a bit , hope all is well and every one has has a good week . We have had back to back snow storms 10 inches in one and today 8 inches with freezing rain , our drive way is being swallowed by snow and there is no where to put it.I shoveled for a bit till it wore me out but at least I burned some calories . It will be nice to not see snow and see the flowers.A few more weeks.
Hello Shy hope all is well for you
Hello Counting,Eltigre,Bargoo,Just Want 2 Be,Doitforme and Wilma and any one else hope your week is going good . will post more later have a great night . Rena
  • Hello All~
I've been on 3FC for a few weeks now, but have just found your Christian thread and would like to get to get to know some of you.
    Here's my very abbreviated story:
I've been overweight my whole like and never really able to stay on a diet for more than a couple days. I got married last summer and we are so happy! The only problem is when I got married I also stopped getting any exercise and started eating trash. Finally in November I decided I needed to stop gaining weight, and try to lose. The first 10 pounds came off fairly easy in November/December, and then January I got off track. The beginning of February I got back on track and found 3FC and adopted the Slim Fast eating plan, using some Slim Fast products and a 1400-1500 calorie per day goal. It's going pretty well so far and have lost another 5 pounds. My big goal right now, you can see below, is to lose another 5 pounds by my birthday, which will put me at a total loss of 20 pounds. I never thought I could lose that much, and would be a great birthday present to myself....not only the weight lost, but feeling proud of myself for doing it, having more energy, and feeling better about myself.
So, that's my weight loss journey so far....thanks for listening.
  • Hi Everyone,

I'm a lapsed Catholic (lost my faith after reports of all the children molested in the 80s, and for the lack of support received after my baby died in 1990.

Nonetheless, I believe in God in my heart, and many times feel that I am more Christian than those who sit in churches every Sunday. The Lord is in my heart, and always will be - and, reluctantly, I give credit to that Catholic upbringing for that!

I am glad I found this forum, and hope that reading your prayers and acceptance of others will reinvigorate my faith!

    Thanks!

    TO US!

    best,
    b
  • BETH and BRUNI ~ glad you found us; it's a nice group here. Lots of support and fun too. Come back and post often; that seems to be the best way ...

BARGOO ~ prayers for MARIA up and will continue ...
RENA ~ know what ya mean about all the snow; DH keeps saying, 'I know it's snowing, but we're halfway thru February, so it'll be gone real soon~lol!'

THANKS for all the prayers; boy, do we seem to be going through a bunch of trials lately or what? Was in bed most of the day; but, I was able to eat dinner (we had fish and veggies), and I could actually taste it ~ lol!

UPDATE ~ thanks so much for the prayers for both my brother and uncle TOM. TOM is getting more tests done to see why he was having abdomenal pains (they think temporary blockage or kidney stone). He has to see his specialist to decide whether they are going to continue the Chemo-therapy. In the Spiritual front: my aunt is elated that TOM asked some Christians to pray with and for him when they came to visit him at the hospital (this is a first for TOM). Now we are praying for a full commitment.

FOR MY BROTHER: the news was much better than we expected under the circumstances. GOD heard our prayers and was gracious and merciful towards him, but he still has a hard road ahead for about one year or so. We are counting on GOD's grace and courage to CARRY HIM through this very trying time in his life. He's only been a Christian for just over a year, and he is going through a lot very early in his new journey. He will need all the prayers and support he can get, and we'll do our best to help him as we can ...

That's all the news for now; thanks again, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^prayers ascending^ROSEBUD
  • Hello every one HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. May it be a wonderful one .
    Prayers and blessings Rena
  • bargoo - It is so hard to believe that there are so many lost souls in the world who could do something like that! Prayers ascending!

eltigre - it looks like you are finding some insight into your eating and your meandering from your plan. It really is a journey along a very winding and challenging road. Congratulations for realizing what is going on and taking steps to change it

Rena - we are supposed to get another storm on Friday. I am sick of winter. Darn groundhog

Beth - Congratulations on your loss so far! You have found a wonderful community - and the folk here are fantastic Christian folk - come back and visit us often

bruniQ - You are very welcome here. We are Christians of various denominations. Let us know how you are doing and if there is anything we can do to help you on your journey - whether it be matters of eating or matters of faith

Rosebud - thanks for the updates on your brother and TOM. Prayers continuing! They are blessed to have you praying for them. Your faith must be a comfort to your whole family

Will sure keep him in my prayers that he goes from knowing to doing. All of us need Christ as our personal savior. Sometimes it takes great changes in our life for that to happen. Will keep your bother clothes to my thoughts also. Yes he is young in Christ but it has to be a great comfort to him when he feels God's love with him.

    BruniQ

So glad to have you with us. Sometimes, when things are the hardest in life, our faith in God is what gets us through it. It is always such a shame the power the devil has. All we can do is spread the word and help others get through tough times.

    Beth
Nice to have you with us. Losing weight so we are more healthy is important. Losing weight so we like how we look is important too. I give a great deal of the credit to God for how well my weight loss is going. Without him, I would have have been able to do this.

The weather has just been terrible. Makes everyone down now and then I think. That kind of cold that you just can't seem to get warm. We all just need to stay on track and keep the body moving. We will get where we want to be. Might not be today, might not be tomorrow but we will get there. I am doing pretty well. I swear, I could be wrong, this 40 some lbs I have lost is one of the reason I just can't seem to get warm this winter.
  • Happy Valentines Day every one hope it is a good one .Yes we are suppose to get another storm Fri. We have no where to go with the snow so we have to have a back hoe come in and remove some of the snow .I really can not wait till spring arrives . But at least I'm burning calories shoveling all this snow.
Shy- Yes it does get ya down some color would be nice like yellow or red or purple.

  • The only help I can give to anyone about faith is this. When I was about 20 I was in an accident. I woke up to be told I would NEVER walk, talk or do any of the things I could do before the accident. With God's help I proved them wrong. Then, I was told I would be in a wheel chair by the time I was 40. I am now 46 and still going strong. You can call it faith, you can call it anything you like. GOD is the reason I am where I am today. We were never told life was going to be easy. We were told he would be there right beside us to help us through the days we have on this earth. This journey we are on to lose weight and become a more healthy person isn't always easy. Life, isn't always easy.

When you think you are on this journey all alone. When there isn't a person in site to give you the encouragement you need. Remember, God is right there beside you. Usually yelling PUT DOWN THAT CANDY BAR. All we have to do is listen.
  • Quick fly-by to wish everyone a happy Thursday!

Shy - so much wisdom in your post. You are a living testimony to God's grace and power

We got that storm today - the roads are a mess. I am thankful I made it back home safe and sound after traveling for work

Prayers continuing for everyone! Blessings to all
  • HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!

Just taking it easy, trying to get over this terrible flu; have a sore, raw throat: no fun! My taste buds are slowly returning; all I can taste right now is sweet and sour, a bit. No lovely aromas yet; dang it ~ lol!

Thank you for your prayers and support; esp for my brother, who is living out a hellish nightmare right now. This situation has hurt my family a lot, but we are hoping and praying for a positive outcome for my brother. It's kind of like watching a movie, only the actors are your family, and it's hard to believe it's real, but you know it is ~ lol!

ANYWAYS, we must have FAITH, and TRUST GOD that everything will work out for the best in the end. Take good care, and have a great week, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD^Prayers Ascending^
