-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You've found a great place to come and vent, share or ask for prayer support. This is a great group who will be very encouraging, caring and loving....anyone is welcome to join! A Servent's Prayer Jesus, My Jesus....How marveleous your ways.... Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have called me. I give myselt totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hadness. Close the doors I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you. To love as you love..... To serve as you serve..... To forgive as you forgive..... Always mindful of my nothingness while doing great and marvelous things in your name and for your glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name. Amen |
HI GALS ~
We had a lot of pages on #217....we haven't bumped up since MAY...it was time! :) |
HI GALS ~
It is a :flow1: beautiful day here! It :rain: rained last night and again this morning, the air is so clear now. Angie and I skipped the walk to Starbucks, didn't want to get stuck in the :rain : We just took Reba and Rylee on a quick 1.5 mile walk around the neighborhood....they still managed to get soaking wet...just what they love! I finished with 3 miles on the :woops: treadmill, while Angie did some yoga :yoga:. Angie is at church for bell practice. Our pastor is having his 4oth Anniversary for the ministry tomorrow, should be nice. We are giving him the day off of preaching ;) Angie and I went out to dinner last night at a local fish restaurant. I had halibut and she had mahi-mahi. It was good, we both made the mistake of getting the twice baked potatoes...should have stuck with my first thought of rice. KAREN ~Good news on your family. I hope your sister gets that job. Have a great time at the BBQ! ROSEBUD ~Snow! Already!! God for you guys :snowfight be back.....dogs outta control.......... EDIT ~ OK, I am back. One of their "friends" was walking by with their owner, they were out of control :drill: BARKING out their hello's! RENNIE ~I wish you could get a run in Thanksgiving morning too! We used to have our Thansgiving on Saturday. Being an extended family, the kids had to make several stops. They had dinner at my sister's and their grandma (my mom) ~ at their mom's house or their grandparents...my ex-wife's folks. My step-daughter sometimes had Thanksgiving at her grandma's on her dad's side. It was just too difficult for us as a family to have it here, back a few years ago, on Thursday so we always did ours on Saturday with a lot of people....usually around 25 or so. Not sure the plan for this year...all I know is I will have :thanks2: turkey somewhere! ;) Enjoy your day ladies! |
Hi there!
Wilma- Thanks! Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving dinner! and visit w/family
E.Z.- Thanks! Yum chili especially when it is cold out. Sounds yummy! Wow! 6 miles you go guy!!! Great news on Jeff- responding- prayers he continues to heal as well as scotty starts really responding verbally, prayers for your family for healing for all it has been through this year. How did the kids make out with the house deal? Rosebud- Snow! Pretty but not ready for it yet! Thanks for all the prayers for Jim. They opened his Left eye which was sewed shut and he was unable to see anything so there is not much hope that eye will regenerate. They closed it back up to avoid infection and will probably eventually remove it. He was held back from transfering to Boston, until next week- some problem with the bed.. Anyway this week did well sang 4 hymns with his son and the pastor. So pray he continues to improve and begins to be able to walk, and get around better and become even more able to do simple things for himself. Prayers to everyone. Shy thanks for being a great encourager you always here with a nice word for all. Gotta run... |
PRAYERS UP-DATES ~
On Jeff, my daughter in law's dad, Nicole said he told her today that God told him he was to stop drinking. Now remember, he is starting to remember things, but not even close to being normal. So, take it for what you want...or what we hope I guess...was it really God? Let's hope so! ALSO ~ Here is the latest, as of this morning, on Scott. Injured high school linebacker no longer 'critical' By: North County Times ESCONDIDO -- Injured Mission Hills High School linebacker Scott Eveland's condition has changed from "critical" to "serious," and the teen was taken off his ventilator this week, authorities said. "He's able to breathe on his own," said Andy Hoang, spokesman for Palomar Medical Center, where Eveland, 17, has been hospitalized since staggering off the San Marcos field during a game and slipping into a coma Sept. 14. Eveland has since been moved from the intensive care unit to the intermediate care unit. He is now able to open his eyes, but has yet to respond to commands, Hoang said. "We have not seen yet any signs of neurological improvement," he said. Eveland also remains borderline comatose, and "we'll need more time to give a definitive answer at this point," Hoang said. Still, Hoang said it was a "big positive" that Eveland's |
AUNT SUE ~The house situation for the kids is still in limbo, there are two interested parties in buying it, if the bank will allow it...long ongoing process....thanks for remembering and the prayers!
|
Mornin' all! Just back from vacation. I'm still catching up on how everyone is doing, but it looks like many prayers were answered while I was away. God is so amazing and incredible!
Vacation was fantastic! Food was amazing, but DH and I split an entree every evening and took healthy food for our breakfast and lunch (usually on the hiking trails each day) so I didn't do any damage to the diet. Major victory for me, who usually uses a vacation as a license to eat everything in sight. NSV - "2 mile trail to the falls? Let's go!" I couldn't believe that the words came out of my mouth! - Normally, we don't hike the trails much since I have a tough time with them. But the loss of 35 lbs made a HUGE difference. We hiked every day and saw some amazing waterfalls that were only visible on the trails. I am so blessed to have found 3FC, everyone here has been so terrific - the encouragement has made a big difference in my ability to stay OP. |
Good morning Ladies ~
Checking in again. Angie will go to first service today, she has to play bells and take knucklhead nephew, so he can help the youth group set up for Pastor's big celebration. I will meet Angie and my son and daughter in law there for second service then the lunch and celebration. SUE ~I want to say how sorry I am for Jim's eye, continued prayers for recovery. LAURIE ~Wonderful job on vacation! Sounds like you did all the right things from sharing food and getting in some nice hikes! Outstanding! Have a great day ladies ~ Gary |
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSEBUD!
MAY YOUR DAY BE WONDERFUL AND FULL OF OUR LORD'S BLESSINGS! :bday2you: |
:D THANX, THANX, THANX! :D We did get out and I did get a birthday dinner, but it was healthy; I did a lot of walking today up at the site (four times around the loop). We closed up Dad's cottage for the winter and brought home DH's shovels, so he'll be ready for the next *** snowfall ***
The snow has all melted and my marigolds actually survived three days under snow; I have always said that Marigolds are one special flower; GOD made them for people like me, cuz they are easy to grow and they last and last. I even wrote a poem about them ~ LOL! I brought the last two hanging baskets in the house, just in time; and they look so lovely on my windowsill. ABOUT JEFF ~ that is interesting what JEFF said; I always wonder if people in comas get special messages from GOD that they can share with us ... Welcome back LAURIE ~ you did very well on your vacation ... HI SUE ~ sorry about JIM's eye problems; prayers will definitely continue ... KAREN ~ sorry I missed you in my last post; sometimes its hard to remember everyone, although I am trying; best wishes for the sale of your house and the move. HELLO to everyone else ... have a great week everyone; your fellow encourager  ROSEBUD  ^ PRAYERS ^ continue upwards ... |
Gary, I thought you should know that we now have 27 golden retriever puppies from 3 moms. Sound like fun? My grandkids love them. It might take awhile to sell that many. They should be ready to go in 2 weeks. Prayers for the Woods family, Jeff, Jim, Scott ...........I'm sure I missed some. I got behind again.
|
CAROL that sounds like a lot of fun...and WORK!! OH MY!!
|
 HELLO ~ we are having very cold weather here right now; colder than usual. It's so odd, in the summer, it was terribly hot, and now it's terribly cold; where is our fall? It feels like winter out there ~ LOL!
WELL, DH re-injured his shoulder again; he's always over-doing it! So, it was his turn to go to the emerg -- for xrays; and yep, there is some more damage in his shoulder. Now he's in a sling, got meds for inflammation and pain; and has to start some kind of physio-therapy tomorrow. I hope that helps and doesn't make it worse! Not much going on right now; the cold is really putting a damper on my enthusiasm for going outside and all DH can do is ... NOTHING ~ LOL! GEE, CAROL ~ want some puppies??? Have a nice day everyone! ROSEBUD  |
Carol - I love goldens! Our last two dogs have been golden mixes. They are just so cute, and puppy (forever), and hairy!!! I can't go anywhere without taking a lb of gold hair with me!
ROSEBUD - our weather is the same - summer, then winter - no fall at all! BRRRR!!!! My DH is the same - can't seem to understand that at 50, he can't do what he did when he was 20 - LOL Oh, and most importantly - belated birthday wishes!!!! Shy - I wish I had the ambition to get my yard work done! I have some bushes that I need to transplant before it snows. And then there are all of those pesky leaves. Good for you getting out before the weather turns really nasty! Prayers continue for Scott, and Jim and the housing situations! It was hard to go back to work today, but I tried to keep my spirits up and pray for patience as a week's worth of problems unfolded via email and phone messages. It really helps to keep my mp3 player going with great Christian music in the background. It helps keep me rooted and focused on what is important - and thus not get stressed out about little problems that can get blown out of proportion so easily. What others see as a crisis, I usually only see as a minor inconvenience. When you consider what really matters in life ... I hope everyone had a good Monday, and that you have seen God's blessings and presence throughout your day! |
SHY ~ we have 32F right now (just before 9 p.m.); and today we had almost a steady 44F. We have had these temps all last week and on the weekend as well; not common for here. Our falls usually range close to what you are getting in the 50's and 60's, with the occasionally 70F ...
UPDATE ~ I forgot to mention earlier cuz I was waitin' til DH got back from the hospital, so he could see it with his own eyes, that I woke up this morning and my leg was completely healed; and I mean, totally! Before I went to bed last night, I prayed, "Lord, all I want for my birthday this year is good health!" I couldn't wait to show DH when he got home; he says people won't believe it unless they saw it; but last night when I went to bed my leg was dark purple (almost black); and today ~ nothing! It looks smooth and the same as the rest of my leg and DH concurs that all you can see is a faint outline of where the scrape was (about the size of a quarter)! I keep staring at it; cuz it is almost unbelievable ... I had been so concerned about this bad scrape, becuz it was taking so long to heal; and the next morning after I finished all the meds, it is gone like it was never there in the first place. We serve an awesome GOD people; oh, how I wish I had taken pictures now. EDIT ~ thanx for all the birthday wishes too! COUNTING ~ you posted when I was editing. Yes, my DH is 60 y/o and wants to think he is still 20 y/o. He says the anti-inflammitory meds are helping a lot. Thanx for all the prayers that went up, becuz they were obviously heard; and we have to give Him all the glory and praise! ROSEBUD  |
SHY ~ me too; I think DH is a bit stunned (he keeps coming in and looking at it now and then). What a great witness for my husband to see that. I asked him: Have you ever seen anything like that before? And he said, "Yes, when I was young ... my leg disappeared and the next day it came back ~ LOL!" He's joking, of course ... men ...
|
Hi!
E.Z.- Thanks for all your prayers! They continue for scott andJeff and the kids...
Countingdown- Your doing awesome! Rosebud- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!Awesome job walking and big answer to prayer having your leg healed What an awesome God we serve... Prayers for Dh Shymoment- Hope you got some sleep, prayers for your DH that he is soon on the mend Carol- wow! 23 puppies fun but also might be a ticket to insanity.. Hi to everyone else, blessings!!! I am doing great, tired though off to bed... |
Counting down, Our pups are outside dogs. We live on a farm and have lots of running room and nice dog pens to keep them safe. They are so cute. Rosebud, My DH is a veterinarian and he is almost 60 pretending to be 20. He just can't let the kids beat him in basketball, raquetball, or whatever they are playing. And the kids are in their 20's and 30's!!!! Had a good day yesterday food wise.......but then it was just DH and I for supper and he eats whatever I fix with no complaints. The kids are another story. I'm just beginning to fix things I've that have been off the menu for years because of the kids..........you know what kids like.....pizza and spaghetti.

Needing prayer, last February I fell and broke my shoulder. I saw my doctor this week for a follow up. He says my shoulder is probably as good as it is going to get, I have minimal use of my arm as a result of the break. He doesn't think the physical therapy I have been doing is going to help any more than it has.He says the bone has knit, the problem is with the muscles, possibly musles were torn in the fall. He has ordered a MRI ., to see if surgery is called for.I do not want surgery but will do the MRI to see if anything can be done. The MRI will be on Friday, the nineteenth. I will appreciate prayer.Thank you all .
Barbara |
 HELLO BARB ~ will definitely pray for that shoulder, and your tests. I have injured both of my shoulders in the past; so, I know how painful and frustrating that injury can be ...
My DH is a big baby right now; but he is in pain, poor dear. He can't even remember to take his meds, so I am MUM for a while; but he always looked after me well when I was sick; so, it's only right. He has had surgery for the original accident and they removed part of his collar bone, and tied up some of his ligaments that were stretched. They did xrays to look at it again; but the preliminary examination shows that something is wrong, but they aren't sure what it is yet ... We are putting on RUB A535 ointment; he takes his anti-inflammitories twice, after breaky and dinner; and pain meds before bed or when needed to help him sleep. He said that he was able to sleep some (but had to sleep on the couch as the bed was too flat). Our couch has those big slanted end cushions that really helped him a lot. Even after the surgery, he has always had some pain and his shoulder locks up a lot; he has always had limited motion as well. Sometimes, that is permanent; as it was for DH. Surgery works for some people, but not for others; DH says that it was very painful for him. We are hoping that all this care, plus prayers, and TIME will help him heal enuff to live more comfortably, at least. It is hard to get these guys to realize that they are not SUPERMAN or THE INCREDIBLE HULK (that's just how they see themselves, I think ~ LOL!) CAROL ~ I think that you are correct; that it is about manly pride; trying to keep up with the younger guys ... Oops ~ I hope GARY doesn't see that; he might not like it ... hehe! SHY ~ DH does like to tease me sometimes; but, he saw the look on my face after that remark ... it meant: that might just cost ya, fella ... LOL! SUE ~ thanks for the B/D wishes; and prayers for DH ... Well, we had some lovely sunshine today; finally, after so much rain and too many cloudy days; so, we went for a short drive and to pick up some groceries today; I just couldn't miss that opportunity to get out in that glorious sunshine; also got in a bit of walking today too! HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE ~ hope you are all having a good week; take care, your fellow encourager  ROSEBUD  |
Barbara - I will definitely keep you in prayer. If the MRI indicates surgery, go for it - I know several people that have had wonderful results.
Carol - my dog is envious (he is reading over my shoulder) - we live in town and he has a fenced in postage stamp yard to roam. At least we have a dog door so he can let himself out as he pleases - LOL I agree with Shy - there comes a time in life when you get to cook for yourself and be a bit selfish. The kids can eat what you cook, cook for themselves or eat elsewhere!!! Rosebud - still keeping DH in our prayers! Shy - I always enjoy your posts - you are such an inspiration and cheerleader!!! What an example you are for others on 3FC! Hi to everyone else! I'm keeping you in prayer as well. Rough day today - I had to take off work early to do church office manager interviews. We had over 50 applicants for the position. We did 12 interviews in 4 hours. Whew!!!! We have so many qualified and wonderful people applying - I need some extra prayer time tonight to help with discernment of where to go with this one! |
I received this in an email this evening and just felt like I wanted to share it with all of you. God Bless.... Karen
Dancing With God When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other. My eyes drew back to the word Guidance. When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i". "God, "u" and "i" dance." God, you, and I dance. As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead. My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday. May you abide in God, as God abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life. This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached. If God has done anything for you in your life, please share this message with someone else. There is no cost but a lot of rewards; so let's continue to pray for one another. I Hope You Dance ! |
Hi there!
Karen- Thanks for sharing that! Very Nice...
Barbara- Prayers MRI will show the problem and it will be able to be rectified. Counting down prayers for the right person to be chosen for the position shy- thanks for all your support- you are awesome Rosebud- continued prayers for hubby. Prayers for everyone else, gotta work 3 hours tom morning at a meeting then I am off for 4 days going home, my niece will be home from college tom night... Yeah! really miss her.. Have a good rest of the week!!! |
Rosebud, My DH has had that shoulder trouble, too, but right now it is in his elbow. Since he is a veterinarian, he gets a lot of bangs from cows and other animals so I think he might be needing to retire early........but I know he won't...... a workaholic. ha!
|
Weigh in day! I weigh 158 which is better than the 163 I weighed after our holiday. It's slowly coming off!
I've been reading all the posts and noting the prayer requests. I just haven't had a lot of time to post. I will try to make time one evening this week. My prayers are with all of you. Talk to you soon! |
 HELLO EVERYONE ~
WILMA ~ I told my uncle the other day; that I'm 39 and holding. I didn't choose 29 cuz I figured no-one would believe that, but 39 is more realistic ~ LOL! Glad you are back on track now ... CAROL ~ DH and my Dad are the same; both retired, BUT NOT ... SUE ~ thanx for prayers; and have a nice holiday with your niece ... KAREN ~ cute poem; reminds me of that song "I HOPE YOU DANCE" sung by Leanne Womac; I loved that song ... SHY ~ yah, the look; I think it's an art ... COUNTING ~ that is a difficult decision; prayers that the right person will stand out for you, like a sign from GOD ... THANX for all the prayers for DH; much appreciated ... esp by me ~ haha! HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE ~ hope all are well; continued prayers for JIM, JEFF, SCOTTY, LEVI, and AJ ... plus all other concerns and requests! Take good care and have a great week; your fellow encourager  ROSEBUD  ^ PRAYERS ^ are continually ascending ... just like a stairway to heaven ... |
Hello everyone, I'm new here. Thank God that I found a place where christians can support each other about losing weight. Hopefully, we can get to know each other.
Godbless |
WELCOME SYNERGY :welcome3: We are blessed to have you join us!
HI GALS ~ Not much going on around here today. I have a couple of minutes to post before Angie gets home from yoga :yoga: and we have dinner. Knucklehead nephew is at youth group...quiet around here...if I get get the dogs to STOP barking!! At all the folks walking through "their' neighborhood! They think they own it! WILMA my Wednesday weigh in was 174.2....that is up .2 from last week, although I have been down to 172 twice in the last week. Too many beers at our Pastor's 40th celebration of his ministry party! I just want you all to know that I am praying for you all and I have read your posts! I will catch up soon! |
Synergy - welcome! You have found a wonderful, supportive and faith-filled place! So glad you came :)
Shy - wish I was closer, I absolutely LOVE zoos! It sounds like a wonderful idea! Gary - I know what you mean about the dogs - ours is the same way - just wish he wouldn't get SO enthusiastic when the skunks decide to parade through the yard - LOL Small victory today - boss decided to buy everyone candy - just because. Fortunately, he stopped in the office and asked what my favorite was. I smiled and told him I REALLY appreciated the gesture, but would be happier if he didn't bring me candy. He was surprised, but honored my wishes. I listened to praise songs, drank my herbal tea and felt SO GOOD about being able to do that. Wouldn't have happened a few months ago. Those praise songs just help me keep my focus on what is important - and it certainly ISN'T food!!! Hope everyone had a great day and saw God's touch in some way as well. Blessings!!!! |
CountingDown, What a great victory for you in the Lord!!! I can see from your ticker that you are doing a good job at losing. Keep up the good work.
|
HI GALS ~
I hope you are all having a great start to your week-end. Angie and I just got back, from our Saturday morning walk to Starbucks, with the girls. They love it and what a nice way to get 3.5 miles in with your wife. It is a beautiful morning here. I thank  God and our TROOPS for this wonderful opportunity I have to do this. Angie has bell practice this morning, then later she is helping to :chef: cook and serve at church for a Lutheran Women's League function. I will just have to suffer here and watch football! ;) I will be taking the knucklehead nephew out for some driving lessons this morning...always :fr: Work has been slow for me again, nothing to worry about....just yet....doesn't sound good for the nation, we do have work coming up, so that is good. My brother and I have been working on my niece's condo....it needs a lot of help....we are almost ready to move her in. I don't have any idea how she and her husband can afford it...I am pretty sure my sister and brother in law will end up moving in with her, as soon as they get back here from Illinois. I thank you all for your prayers. Not much has changed, as far as we know, on Jeff and Scotty this week. I am doing fine with the loss of my mom. I think of her often but always in ways that are beneficial for my health! I know where she is, I know that it is normal to miss her and I know that she doesn't want me to be :( sad....so...as always....I do what my mother says! ;) I made "her" goulash this week in her memory for the nephew and I, Angie isn't a big fan of it so I made it the night she had BUNKO....my brother and I have had it at work all week....I just gotta learn how to cook for 2-3 instead of 6!! Now that 3 are gone!! :) Angie and I are going to a play tomorrow....The Jersey Boys...should be fun. RENNIE ~ I love the No Bark :jeno: story. Right now the doors and windows are open...it is a glorious day here in southern California, a lot of folks are out walking with their dogs, so my girls just have to visit (bark) with all of them! LAURIE ~Great job on the replacement of candy with  praise songs! Awesome! WILMA ~How is the new exercise room working out so far? As I said my weight is maintaining...I am still hoping to get 2 more down....but as long as I don't gain I will be happy...for now...;) ROSEBUD ~Prayers for your husbands shoulder....ouch! :( At least he has you to take care of him and give him  Glad to hear your weather was nice for you...I hope it still is! KAREN ~Love the poem! Thank you for always remembering me in your e-mails and posts! It means a lot to me. I hope this finds not only you, your family, but also your sis and father doing well. Here is another  PRAYER for the sale of the home! There are a ton of them around here for sale.....the condo above my niece's just was lowered to $40 thousand under what she paid for hers a few months ago...she is not happy :( BARBARA ~Welcome and  prayers for your shoulder! I hope you were able to get some information to help from the MRI yesterday. AUNT SUE ~I hope you enjoy your loooong week-end with your family and niece! Thanks as always for the prayers and again, prayers for Jim. CAROL ~How are all those puppies doing? I can't even imagine...glad you have all that land!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK-END WITH YOUR FAMILIES GALS! WORSHIP HIM WHEN AND WHEREVER YOU CAN! |
Thanks for all your prayers, had the MRI yesterday, it was OK I have a bit of fear about being in enclosed spaces, but I just spent the time during the MRI praying and I felt very peaceful. I won't know the results for a few days. Thanks all for your prayers.
|
OH RENNIE...there are PLENTY of chores around here that need done...wink....I'm just a little feeling faint Ang'......
Barbara ~ I know what you mean about the MRI's...no problem here for the tight space...but just as soon as they say "Be still"...I have a zillion places I need to scratch!! |
 HELLO EVERYONE ~ We had a lovely sunny day yesterday, so we went shopping and spent some time in town just enjoying the weather. DH had a physio-therapy session, and things went well for him; the therapist told him that he has to use the arm or he will lose all his mobility in it. I took advantage of the beautiful day and went for a couple of walks to get my exercise in ...
On Wednesday, DH and I had our weekly HOE-DOWN; we may up them to twice a week to see if that helps me (probably Saturday night). The adrenaline helps me to sleep without any pain in my legs, which can wake me up or stop me from relaxing enuff to go to sleep in the first place. I could feel the adrenaline in my body and could have danced and played my instruments for hours, but we decided to stop at midnight. We are doing this as an aerobic type of exercise for me; if I am careful not to overdo it, I can mix up the dances with playing the instruments. Now, these are just things like cha-chas, tambourines, clackers, spoons, and such, but it is so much fun. DH and I always comment how we wish they had those old-fashioned HOE-DOWNS here. In days gone by, they used to have HOE-DOWNS in barns on Saturday nights and the price was nominal, if not free; they would usually just charge for refreshments and food that was made by the women attending. Boy, those were the days, eh??? GARDEN UPDATE ~ On Thursday, we gleaned up our garden; picked the rest of the tomatoes, summer turnips, and onions; it took me all the rest of that day to clean and process them into containers and storage. We are leaving the carrots in til the end of October as they are still too small; maybe by then we can get some decent four-inchers plus a few baggies of baby carrots. It's very rainy here today; I put up some more small baskets on our garden fence for the birdies; DH took a board and nailed it (using his good arm) to a pole at the end of our deck, so the birdies have what is called a platform feeder. It's a bit big, but they will love that; and it's so close by that I can go out and put the seed in it myself for the winter. Well, that's all that's going on here right now; so I hope everyone is feeling well and having a great weekend. Take good care of yourselves ~ your fellow encourager  ROSEBUD  ^PRAYERS^ are going up for YOU and YOURS ... |
Well, she had to do part of it over as she said I moved..I had to go along with her seeing as how I was trapped. Rennie what happened to your shoulder?
|
Rennie, I had a frozen shoulder too. Very painful to go through therapy. I did 3 months with the therapist as well, then DH did the routine with me after that. It was incredibly hard. I had to instruct him to keep pushing even if I screamed, cried, begged him not to. I wouldn't want to go through it ever again!!!! I'm back to about 95% for most motion. I've noticed that when I do some yoga moves, it is considerably less than that, but I am satisfied. The Dr. explained that I had so much scar tissue that just isn't flexible - it will not stretch. The only other alternative is surgery - which I am not crazy about. I think I will just keep modifying my yoga routines - LOL I hope you have fun at the zoo tomorrow. Take lots of pictures and share some with us!!!!
Gary, I will keep you and Jeff and Scotty in prayer. Losing a parent is tough - both DH and I have lost our Dad's. It continues to be difficult at unexpected times and in unexpected places. Prayers ascending!!! Enjoy the play with Angie tomorrow! Carol, thank you! I love your siggy! Barbara - prayers for you and your MRI results as well! Waiting can be so hard - I hate it. I am so impatient and try not to imagine the worst. Rosebud - a hoedown sounds like so much fun. I've never been to one - but hearing you describe it - I want to! I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday! Enjoy the Lord's day :) |
Rennie , I fell and broke my shoulder, I have very little use of that arm , I can't touch the top of my head as an example. Do I know about the pain? I slept in my clothes for the first couple of months, it was so painful to get in and out of clothes,it is better though, I don't scream now ,I only groan when trying to get in and out of clothes.I am doing physical therapy so I think that is helping but doctor is doubtful the physical therapist is more optimistic. So we'll see what the MRI says.

Thank you all for your prayers , don't mean to be a whiner. I am greatful it was my shoulder and not my hip and equally greatful it was my left shoulder as I am right handed. The funny thing about is I fell in CHURCH ! Yes, I still go to church.

BARGOO ~ that's funny and sad, all at the same time (fell in church and broke your shoulder). No, it wasn't funny that you broke your shoulder; I mean that it happened in church, of all places!
We certainly understand what you ladies went/are going thru. I help DH take off his t-shirts; which I just stopped wearing when I hurt my shoulders. Getting dressed and undressed has to be the most painful thing do when you have a bad shoulder. I had therapy too and I found that it really helped, esp the heat therapy. They used an infrared laser heater thing; kinda looked like something out of the future, but it worked great! HOWEVER, hated the ice therapy; did that once and said NEVER AGAIN; as that just caused me MORE pain. The therapist apologized profusely; and I don't think that they ever used that method again ~ lol! But in time, it finally healed well enuff to use it again (at first, I couldn't use my arm at all; they called that a SLEEPING SHOULDER). I can't throw a baseball with that arm anymore, but I can do most other things a little bit, as long as I don't overdo it (repetitive things are out). The therapist told DH that he cannot do any of those heavy and/or repetitive motions that re-injured him (lifting large cement blocks, shoveling gravel, and lifting heavy objects). You can warn them ahead, but it doesn't do any good; DH says he has finally learned his lesson. Yah, until all the pain goes away ... huh-huh ... BARGOO ~ DH's therapist is getting him to move his arm in gentle, small motions to keep it mobile; he said in time, it will get better. My therapist said and I quote "If it's not better in 10 years, it never will be!" Well, it is better, just not back to original; but hey, I am just grateful for what I can do now! DH is missing part of his shoulder bone and lost some muscle, so he has limited range as well. But since you broke the shoulder and with possible ligament or muscle damage, that may take longer to heal, as it did with DH. Will pray for your shoulder; and I sincerely hope that you see some improvement, and get some relief soon! We had a lovely sunny day; and friends dropped over after lunch for a quick game of EXTREME CHASE (marble and card board game); that was fun. We had a nice, lean roast beef dinner with veggies from the garden and a light, fruit crisp for dessert. Did well on my plan today. We have a busy week coming up; therapy and eye glass appointments, trip out of town, etc. Well, I hope that everyone else is well; have a great week, your fellow encourager  ROSEBUD  ^PRAYERS^ for YOU and YOURS ... |
