HI GALS ~
I hope everyone is doing well today. I recieved some :( sad news yesterday from my sister. She had to leave my mom in the hospital after taking her there for her check-up. She wasn't well enough to come home, she may or may not be able to. She has had a history of heart and lung problems over the years, she has been on oxygen for almost a year. It is only a matter of time before she leaves this earth but it appears to be very soon. It is not un-epected, we feel so fortunate to have had her here this long, praise God! It could be days/weeks or even months but not long. She always surprises us but the time is near. I ask for your prayers that her last days, however long they shall be, will be easy on her. Thank-you gals! On a lighter note my little faker dog Reba, seems to be totally fine since her little "I can't walk or jump" episode! For which I am thankful...just wished I could have saved some $$$ on the ordeal!! ;) I am up a pound today :o I have been steady as I lose, I think I went up once, a pound, for a day, but otherwise if I drop I stay there. I made some really good vegetable beef soup and had two small...er medium....OK...BIG bowls of it. It was the best I had ever made. Of course it could have been the 3 hunks of sourdough bread I had ~ with butter! :o SCOTTY UP-DATE ~ Nothing has changed, it may not for a long time. The game films do not show him being hit in any unusual way, not that it would matter, it just would explain things. CHEESY lives near me and she can also tell you that there has been tremendous media coverage on the story. Many of tonight's football games have things planned to do for him such as financial collections, prayers, etc. There has been a lot of support from the community. KIM ~ I am so sorry for your sister's problem. I hope that the day comes soon that she can get it behind her. Yep our little furry friends can cause us such stress and $$$! Great job on the 1# loss! WILMA ~ Have a great trip! CAROL ~I would not recommend fasting to lose weight. Your body needs energy to "lose" weight! One of the best examples of that is here in our 3FC community ~ Glory.....I will look her up and tell you where to find her story, if you don't already know. SUSAN ~And just why were you playing in the back of the truck? ;) AUNT SUE ~CAmping? Again! good for you! Get that walking stick moving girl! Thanks for the prayers. Jeff is improving slowly and you already have Scotty's story. Prayers as always for Jim. RENNIE ~I will check getting the tapes used. I really wouldn't need very many, just to get me through the days out of town KAREN ~I am asking around about the 5th wheel but so far no takers. I think the economy right now has most people concerned. I know our work is very slow right now. We do have work coming up, so I am not too worried. A lot of guys are calling me looking for work though. Say hello to Linda for me, I will try to get over there soon. I would spend more time there, but to be honest, I get a nice welcome from you and several others...but I really think there are those that don't want me there and I don't want to upset the thread. It was there before me. What did you think of Survivor China? I liked it. CHEESY ~Good luck to your son and prayers for his safety tonight. Great job on the new "control" on your eating! Are we going to get that rain? Sure is windy up here today but absolutely gorgeous! COUNTING DOWN ~I hope the dinner with your boss was a success! My wife does yoga a couple of days a week, has for many years, she really loves it. MARGIE ~Hope to see you next week! how is the tennis going for DD? Well ladies I will check in over the week-end. Have a great one with your families! May God bless you all! |
Hello Tonight!
Gary, so sorry to hear about your Mom. I will keep you, your Mom and your family in my prayers. My Mom would always tell me that "getting old isn't for sissies!" I believe it. Glad that Reba is doing good now. Sissy has a "bump" on top of her left foot and has started limping so I guess I will be taking her to the vet this next week. She still runs like crazy and chases Ginger around the house but definitely limps on when she is walking. Will also keep Jeff and Scotty in my prayers. Hey Thanks for checking with people about the 5th wheel. I know it is probably the wrong time to try and sell anything but still got to try! We did have a couple that want to buy the house but they can't get financing until February because of a past bankruptcy. But who knows --- we may still have it for sale then since that is just 5 months away. I did like Survivor China and I was a little surprised that they voted out "Chicken" I think they will be sorry later. Kim, glad to hear that they at least gave your sister a package now. When my hubby went to work back in April after being there 17 years they called him up to the office and said here is your paycheck and vacation pay-- business is slow and we don't need you anymore! What a surprise! Carol, I don't think it is a good idea to fast either. I know I have a hard time doing that just when I need to have blood work done or something. I just know I wouldn't be able to do it. Susan, sounds like you are going to have a nice house and have it done the way you want it. I think that would be both a lot of work and a lot of fun to do. Sue, You must really enjoy your camping trips. I know that here now our furnace runs just about everynight during the night and early morning so don't think there will be anymore camping trips for us this year. Margie, Congrats on the weight loss! Feels so good doesn't it? Counting, Thanks, I think I made the right decision on the job for now too. Just too much other stuff going on and I can't keep my mind on what I have to now! I think you will like the WATP's videos.. She also has a You Can Do Yoga video. I don't know anything about it but have seen it. Well, I know I have probably missed people but here is a  for those that I missed and I will try to do better. Have a great night. |
Darn, have no idea what happened to my post. Well, it won't be the same of course but here it is again.
Karen Hope Sissy is ok. Pepper ( our 12 year old lab ) has fat deposits all over her. Same kind you get under the skin when a person gets old. Vet said to leave them alone as long as they don't seem to bother her. She has one on her ankle that I think is starting to cause problems. Going to have to take her back to the vet. ezmoney So sorry to hear about your mother. Is always such a hard time when those we love come to this time. Will keep you and your family in my prayers. Glad Reba is doing well, maybe Reba didn't want to do any homework or chores lol. Don't get yourself excited about being up a lb. They do come and go sometimes we just happen to catch that one lb on weigh in day. If you keep seeing it, then might be the time to shake things up a bit. Kim I feel bad for your sister but if she didn't do anything wrong she should be glad to get away from that company. She would have worked herself to death for them and never got anywhere. |
I'm off in 15 minutes to catch a plane. I'll see you when I get back. I weighed in this morning and am down 2 lbs. Let's see if I can take the challenge of keeping it off while on vacation!!
Love and prayers to you all! |
Gary - we will keep your family in prayer. We went through a similar situation with DH's dad in the spring. It can be a difficult time, but also a time to come together spiritually.
Kim - keep us posted on your sister - we will keep her in our prayers. Karen - I ordered 5 of the WATP videos used from half.com. YEAH! I got Leslie's You Can Do It Yoga in a grab-bag order and it is great. I NEVER thought I could do yoga again, and after doing that video - my attitude was - hey, with a couple modifications, a strap and a yoga block, I really CAN do this. I did another session this morning & feel great! Thanks for the encouragement!!! Wilma - congrats on the loss - enjoy the trip :) Carol - I have fasted for weight loss - and it didn't work for me at all. I have fasted as a spiritual discipline - and it was wonderful. Strange as it seems, I think where my head and spirit are at makes all the difference. I can stay 100% OP physically and not lose at all. But if I get the rest aligned - don't become legalistic with my plan - but rely on spiritual strength and leading - my weight loss goes really well. Susan - sounds like the house is coming along. We have a 100+ year-old house that is always needing something. I agree about grown sons - I wait until our youngest comes home to do any big moving or projects. I think he likes knowing he is doing something I can't any more - LOL The dinner at the boss' house went well - thankfully, it was buffet style. What a blessing! Thus, I am down 1.5 lbs. this week - YEAH! I hope everyone has a great Saturday! |
Gary ... I wasn't playing ... I had the valuable assignment of making sure the big windows fit just right in the little truck. Important work! But then I was trapped.
I'm not sure what we'd do if we didn't buy houses that need some work. It's a beautiful fall day here again. I'm still in my pj's drinking coffee but I will get for my walk. |
Gary. praying for you and your family at this time. Remember that if it is time for your mother to go home to the Lord, that she will then have perfect health.
|
Thank you all so much. I talked to my mom in the hospital today, it was nice to hear her voice. She is not doing well, but she is still here and I thank God for that.

[COLOR="Blue"]Hi Everyone! :wave:
Gary: I'll be praying for your mom. I know how hard this must be. Is she in Missouri or Illinois? I thought you mentioned she lived somewhere out here by me. Glad Reba is okay - our two older dogs are nearly 12 and have their aches and pains - they still can chase those rabbits and squirrels though! Cheesy: I know what you mean about the knee not giving me excuses - I get to the "pity party" stage when I'd LOVE to do strenuous exercise to help the weight loss. But, I think I'm going to try the low impact Leslie Sansone tapes - I have them but never opened them! Karen: That WW Smart Ones Brownie sounds really good! I'll have to try that sometime - if I want something sweet I'll do a 100 cal. or less ice cream bar or something like that. I try to just do SF jello or fruit, but sometimes you want something REALLY good!! I'll have to try the Diet Rite Pure Zero! It's worth a try. I miss the Coke, but just try to drink lots of other SF stuff. Wilma: Thanks! I guess you are on your trip by now! Hope you have a GREAT time! Sue: Congrats on walking 3 miles a day! One day when I lost about half my weight I'm going to get around on this knee MUCH better! :) Countingdown: Northern Michigan sounds like GOD's COUNTRY to me! I hate these summers here and long for cool to cold weather year 'round and lots of trees! We have outside fires but sometimes they are just for the bug control! Things here are rollling along. Went to the airport in St. Louis to pick up Deb from Omaha. She traveled with some friends out to North and South Dakota, Wyoming and all over out there seeing the sites. She had a great time and even brought me back a MOOSE! :-) I collect them! The kids are all doing pretty good. Working hard in school as we expect! :drill: Really can't think of anything else - praying for all your requests. Have a GREAT day tomorrow and  to all of you and those I didn't mention! Lori |
LORI she is in Bloomington IL.
I posted some pictures of me in mini-goals. back to the game.............. |
Hello Everyone! Well, it has been a busy day around here. I woke up this morning and both dogs were scratching like crazy so I did a close look and found like 3 fleas on Ginger and 5 on Sissy! We never have fleas out here!! So my day started with giving them flea baths and then cleaning like crazy everything else! But I did get a 3 mile WATP's video in and also 15 minutes on the ab lounge. But I think I'm really tired now. ;)
Lori, I really like the "Zero" and I was a Diet Pepsi-aloic!! I really didn't think that I would like it at first but now when I drink a diet pepsi it taste really sweet to me. Counting-- I really like ordering from half.com too! I've always gotten good service from them. I haven't tried her yoga one yet but after hearing you talk about it I think I may just have to get that one too! Sue, Congrats on the 3 miles! Before I went on vacation I was able to do a 3 miles video and a 2 mile back to back... Haven't got there again yet but hope too soon! Gary, prayers coming to you and your family. Please keep us updated. Shy, I hope your lab is OK. Don't they really become such a member of our families!! I would be so lost without Ginger and Sissy. We had a Sheltie and a toy Poodle before we got our Poms. Shiloh, the Sheltie was 13 when she passed. And Bubba, The poodle was 14. I still have pictures of them in my purse that I carry along with Ginger and Sissys'! Kim, I hope your sister is doing OK and finds something that she really likes to do. Well, I guess I'm going to get going for now. Still have another couple loads of laundry to get finished. Everybody take care. |
Karen
Thank you for asking. Pepper is doing ok. The vet said it is a fat deposit and while she could take it out. Pepper is pretty old to open her up for any reason but pain. Since she is still walking on it and doesn't seem in pain. She doesn't really want to do anything about it. |
Hi Shy, My sheltie had one of those on her chest and the vet did remove it but she was a lot younger when they did that. I think that happened when she was around 7. I know with Ginger and Sissy I have kept a folder on each of them and have everything in there that has been done to them, shots, vaccinations and anything. I also keep a recent picture of them on file in case they should ever get lost. It really has helped at times to go back and see when something was done or are they due for something. Anyway, I'm glad that Pepper is doing good. Take care.

Hi Everyone!
Well, this is SO funny, but maybe I shouldn't be laughing - it just MAY be pathetic! :o I have had the "Walk the Walk" video by Leslie Sansone which, I believe, is the beginner's tape for us VERY overweight and out of shape people! Well! I decided to get it out today and started walking the walk! It's great because it has Christian songs to walk to and she has different movements to walk with. Well, I was truckin' along and Abbi was sitting on the floor with her 11 year old petite self watching "Big Mama" (which my boys call me) do this tape with Leslie. I'm getting winded and my feet are hurting although I was trying to do this barefoot (on carpet, but still). Anway, Leslie says, "Great Warmup! Now to pick up the pace!":sumo: So I'm like, "WARMUP??" Abbi was laughing herself silly and :D I WAS proud of the "workout" I was doing and my heart is thumping and I was sweating and I was out of breath on the WARM-UP! So much for feeling :smug:! RENNIE: Our 11 1/2 year old Lady has a few rather large fatty deposits on her back, but they've never bothered her and the vet wouldn't even talk about removing them at her age. I guess it's just an old age thing - HEY maybe that's my excuse on the workout video! KAREN: I'm definitely trying that Zero soda. GARY: How is your mom doing? Oh, Bloomington, I knew she was out here somewhere. Everyone have a GREAT week! Lori |
momof5
Oh my gosh you have just made me laugh so hard. I remember the first time I did the sweating to the oldies tape. He says something about picking up the pace and i said WHAT i thought we were almost done. Kathleen just laughed and laughed. Do you see any connection here, our young ones that shouldn't be allowed to get any older lol. |
