:cool:well hello everyone, yes it is difficult to make myself get on here and be accountable for my weight. I have started the Lords table thing but have missed two days. Talk about hot it sure is here in iL. Made myself walk up and down hills by my apt for about 15 mins before it got too hot this am. Had a zuchinni tomatoe soup/stew thing for dinner. Have to up my water guess that helps alot

HI EVERYONE ~ we're having a scorchingly good time here too; it was 95F in the shade the other day; I didn't even bother looking to see what it was in the sun cuz I couldn't breathe out there. We wait til the evening, then DH and I, with our two furry babies, go out on the deck for fresh air; and then check the gardens.
Just did the usual housework and laundry today (hanging clothes on an indoor rack to dry); oh yah, and meals too, of course. Well, ELIZBENNET & MICKEY are back; nice to have you visit again. Yes, MICKEY, I think this heat makes it harder cuz who wants to go out in that? Not only is it hard to breathe, but it makes me feel nauscious. Gotta do indoor stuff instead, that's all. WILMA ~ it's the summer olympics and you're in the tri-atholon; which three activities do you want to try? GARY ~ best wishes with your new treadmill; you and ANGELA will be fighting over it, I'm sure ... hehe! ;) SUE ~ hope you are doing well; ^ PRAYERS ^ for you and JIM!!! I hope this finds everyone well. I am multi-tasking...watching the Dodger game as I type. I was actually able to DVR Big Brother tonight and then watch it during the commercials and down time of the ballgame. I remember when we didn't even have remote control! Our new treadmill is pretty cool. I have the info in General Chatter under Exercise and exercise equipment in case anyone is looking for one. It was a pretty good deal. Today I did 35 minutes in the morning and then an hour tonight before dinner. Probably down 5 pounds.....RIGHT! Maybe, if I keep it up, in a couple of weeks I will see some progress. Had the day off today and maybe tomorrow, I have been real busy for a couple of months so it is a nice break. With Angie home for the summer we are able to do things together. We have turned the girl's room into a guest bedroom this week. I did demo work on the sand wall and retextured it. Angie repainted the room, made a curtain for the closet that we took the doors off of (we put the dresser in the closet) then she repainted another desk and put it in the room for her sewing table. She made pillow cases and shams for the bed, oh yeh, we bought a trudle bed off Craig's list a couple of weeks ago. Knucklehead nephew finished his summer school with an A- in his last class. WILMA ~ I know what you mean about a boring life! Sorry you put a little weight back on, "summer taking it easy time" I 'spose. Time to start that one day at a time thing! Good luck in your challenge with ELIZBENNET! What ever happened to that challenge you had with DH ;)...I imagine it went a lot like mine do :dizzy: Hope all is well with the boys. Niece still there? Young son still in :love: ? ROSEBUD ~ Sorry it is so hot there. It has been real nice here almost all summer...makes ya think something BIG is comming ;) Are the boys about done with the cottage? I don't think I will have to fight Angie for the treadmill :no: She is more of an outside runner, she will use it for sure, but this morning she went and did 3 miles with the dogs while I did the treadmill. This afternoon she took the dogs for the 1 1/2 mile walk to the vet for some heartguard, I would have done that trip...but...I had just finished one hour on the treadmill so I was pretty pooped! :faint: MICKEYROB ~ Good to see you back. Sounds like you are on the right track. ELIZBENNET ~I'd be glad to give you my extra treadmill miles...just as soon as I have some ;) It's good to see you back here too. I am praying that I will finally gain victory this time, with God's help and the encouragement of other christian friends.

Hi, I'm new to this forum too. I am really struggling today with my sin (cravings). I have started the Setting Captives Free program and I am finding it very difficult to stick to the eating plan. Not to mention by the time I have finished all of my work at home for the day it's around 10pm and I'm too tired to walk. I am just really struggling and am not sure that I have the strength to see this through. I know that this is just the beginning. I just feel like if I am struggling like this at the beginning it's only going to get worse. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me whine. I am sorry for the poor me post. I am just feeling really bad right now.

Well, I just weighed myself at lunch and am down 5 lbs this week....I never thought I could do it! I feel much better now than I did this morning.

Congratulations Lisa !! It's amazing how God will encourage us along the way when we least expect it. I have had many of those days too. My 89yr. old Mom tells me it's just "being a woman". She makes me laugh, but I know that it is more than that sometimes. Satan loves to keep us defeated. I will begin a new weight loss program on Sunday. I am fighting the urges to get in those last minute 'forbidden foods'. Actually nothing is really 'forbidden', just restricted!! Hope we can become good friends!

heart4Him - you have to highlight where it says for 3fc only (or something to that effect) and then go into edit your signature and paste it. Then preview your signature....you might have to post again for it to show up on your other posts. Hope that wasn't too confusing. Angie is off doing a :yoga: class and I am hanging out here trying to catch up. I did 4 miles on my new treadmill this morning. Yesterday I was able to get 6.5 miles in, still no weight loss after a week and a half of "eating better"...oh, well...NO GAIN either :carrot: I am really worried about 2 of our Christian Encouragers since we haven't heard from them for some time now ~ SUE and GYWN ~ asking for prayers that they are OK and just too busy to check in. LISA and HEART 4 HIM ~ This is a great group here, we slow down from time to time..but..we can also get real busy. There are a lot of places on 3FC for encouragment....and maybe even more helpful in helping us with losing weight....but..this group of CHRISTIAN ENCOURAGERS is OUR ROCK! for our struggles and prayers! Lizbenet: Where are you? I managed to walk 2 out of the last 4 days. Not bad for me. I spent the afternoon walking with my DIL and checking out open houses in the neighbourhood. Fun!! How are you doing?
Gary: You're building muscle, right?? Great job on the walking. I bought another Leslie Sansone DVD which I hope to use more in the winter. Now I am hoping to do more outside. I'm also worried about Sue and Gwynn. Please post and let us know how you're doing. Rosebud: I have a tiny little raised bed garden in my yard. Tonight we ate fresh beans. Delicious!! Tomatoes are almost ripe and the herbs I planted are ready to harvest too. The rest will have to be bought at the farmer's market. Fresh corn is ready so I'll have to go get some soon. Triathalon: events would be napping, sleeping and reading. Do those count? I think I'll try walking, riding my exercise bike and weights. Have a great weekend. It's a long weekend here in Canada and I plan on enjoying every minute of it. |

It is busy around our house today. We have an electrician finishing up the lights for the shuffleboard and my guy is doing the yard. Angie and I took the dogs and went and got some more plants for our bank just a while ago. At church this morning one of the little girls in our congregation sang...se sweet! She must be about 4 yrs. old. She has sang before, I'm not saying she has the greatest voice by any means but boy can she remember her words! AWESOME! I did 5 1/2 miles and 1 nad a half hours on my treadmill yesterday...plus I kept my beers down to 2...so...this morning I weighed in a pound less! :carrot: Now, we shall see about tomorrow ;) So far so good on the beer, but I will probably take the day off the treadmill to rest up for the week of hopefully six 5K's. I have heard about those walking tapes WILMA, I assume they are good but Angie has never had any. I guess since she can run right outside her front door, any day of the year, she doesn't need them.
