November Walking Challenge
It's time to set our goals for November!
Here's my goal... November goal = 90 miles Miles walked = 0 Miles to go = 90 Let's walk our way through November! With the holidays here, we need to stay focused on taking care of ourselves to prevent those holiday pounds from creeping up on us. Let's do it! |
November goal: 140 miles
Miles walked: 64 Miles to go: 76 (Before ya'll think that's a typo, nope I'm actually going for that. But keep in mind I have to walk at least 4 miles 5 days a week (2 miles to class, and 2 miles back). I don't have a car anymore so I walk everywhere!) |
I'm new to this challenge, but it might be exactly what I need to stay motivated.

Miles walked = 3 Miles to go = 87 Ok, so I'm off to a sloooow start for the month. I made the mistake of doing a lower body strength workout that was too advanced for me and have been limping the past two days. My house reeks of bengay. I even bought homeopathic cream - Arnica Montana - to help ease my pain! I'm like an old lady! I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow. I'd like to get some miles in over the weekend. |

I didn't post yesterday because I had to go to the doctor. I have a problem with my knee again (the problem is a meniscus tear). What is knee cartilage? Is it the meniscus or the ends of the bone? Both the covering of the bone within the joint and the meniscus are made of cartilage--this makes the issue a little confusing. People often say 'cartilage' to mean the meniscus (the wedges of cartilage between the bone) or to mean the joint surface (so-called articular cartilage which caps the ends of the bone). It is very painful. I am taking a medicine called Diclofenac. I have to take it for 4 weeks minimum. I am going to have to stay off my feet for a few days. That is not good. The medicine also is probably going to cause some weight gain. I just starting dropping weight after a long slump. So I am not too happy with this situation. :mad: |

Yes, miles are miles in my opinion. I actually jog some of my miles and I count them all each month.

Hi ladies-I'm back from vacation, and getting back into my walking rourine. Its nice to see lots of people this month. I also include my jogging in the miles total. I figure at the pace I run, its not that different lol!

Miles walked = 22 Miles to go = 68 I'm pathetically behind schedule! I'm hoping to get caught up over the weekend! Oh, I've started belly dancing! I'm taking my second class tonight. I'm taking classes at www.orlandobellydance.com and it is so much fun! It's an actual dance class, not a bellydance inspired workout class. However, you do work up a sweat and the music is AWESOME. |

I have to share how I got walking partners. I placed an ad that read "looking for female walking partner for early am m-f. Serious committed walkers need only respond." It was cheap to run and I lost weiight and made 3 new friends.

OK I spent the weekend shopping - and I brought my pedomter, so I will log 2 miels for that. It definitely wasn't getting my target heart rate up too much but at least I was moving (and I am tired from it! LOL)

Here's my goal
November goal - 40 miles Miles Walked - 6 miles Miles to go - 34 miles with 15 days left I figure that is 2 miles per day and an extra lap on 4 of those days. My neighbor hood is 1 mile per lap and my neighbor and I used to walk 2 laps per day Mon - Fri but we stopped in August. We just started again Friday and already skipped Saturday. I have 2 dogs I think they should each walk a lap with me if my neighbor bails. |
Hi gals, my walking schedule has been a bit sparse, but I was able to log in 14 miles since I last posted.
Goal - 90 Walked - 39 Left - 51 The weather has been a bit rainy and cut into to many of my walks this month. I probably wont make my goal, but I'll still be walking. I have a 5K run the day after Thanksgiving. It's before a light parade and we're supposed to be wearing Christmas lights. I'm trying to figure out how I can rig them to my running gear and not have them bother me on the run. I also found a really cute Santa hat that fastens like a ball cap that I think I'll add for the race. Great job walking everyone!! |

YUCK!! I just dont like the treadmill. I gave it a go today and did my long run for the week-53 minutes-at the gym cuz of all the rain, and I just about drove myself bonkers on the darn thing. It is so BORING to me even with my music. I sure hope the rain lets up for tomorrow so I can enjoy a leisurly morning walk.

I just find it convenient because then I do my strength training sessions right after my cardio - everything gets done in under 2 hours. I read magazines and try to go when my favourite shows are on so the time flies! |
