Dear Susan Schlump,
Are you doing bicep curls with that cat on your lap? If so, it does count as exercise...
Sincerely,
Ilene

Good for you for biking Susan, I biked too... It was very humid here today ...

srmb60 08-19-2006 09:28 PM

Dear Ilene Go-getter,
No but he got in the way when I was doing tricep kickbacks. Tricep bop Max ??? Humid? Not here. It was a pretty nice day. Sprinkled a bit at lunch time.

I did 20 minutes of arms. I am out of practice!

Hi~
I love the idea of exercise accountability.
I'm currently trying to do the couch to 5K plan but I'm not in good enough shape so I'm doing my own week 0 of 30 min of 1 min jog, 1.5 min walk. So thats what I did today.

srmb60 08-20-2006 02:30 PM

I'm soo frustrated with the wind! I have all the time in the world today for a walk or bike ride and I can hardly head into the wind. I told DH it'd probably blow me back down the road.
So I hiked back the edge of a bean feild inside the windbreak. Didn't take very long :( I guess I could do it again. Or maybe the wind will die down later.

softballmom 08-21-2006 08:38 AM

My plans for Friday and Saturday were on. Even worked a little in the yard early Saturday morning before hitting the weights. Yesterday I kept for rest, more inactive than active, though.

Tonight I will do my C25K run of 25 minutes. I've been running 12 minute miles and trying to decrease the time to get it closer to 10 eventually.

I biked yesterday. It still was windy enough to make a good workout but not as bad as the weekend.

softballmom 08-22-2006 08:54 AM

Got my run in last night; did 2.5 miles in 31 minutes. Should have been only 25 minutes, but I was feeling good.

Tonight is a full WT routine. Now that I've been doing this for about a week, I'm beginning to look forward to it. My muscles are still sore the day after, but it's getting better and will continue to get better, I'm sure.

srmb60 08-22-2006 10:12 AM

I biked this morning. It's really a lovely day here.

Here's where the accountability rubber hits the road....

Even with good intentions when I left work to do my WT routine, I still made the decision to go pick up my dd from a school volleyball game (she even had a way home, so no excuse). I just wanted to go talk with the moms since I haven't seen them since end of school in May. Of course, they haven't seen me in a few months and with me being very close to goal, I got lots of compliments on how well I've done over the summer. By the time we got home I just wanted to put my tank and boxers on and veg.

BUT I will stay on plan the rest of the week... promise. I've lost two pounds in one week, and the only thing that has changed is my increase in exercise days, so there is motivation! It usually takes me 3-4 weeks to lose two whole pounds!!

srmb60 08-23-2006 11:08 AM

I went for a nice bike ride this morning. I still want to do an upper body work out too.

Shrinking Mama 08-23-2006 10:07 PM

Hi. I'd like to join you if it's ok. I've been posting exercise on the Sonoma exercise thread but it has gotten very quiet lately.

Tonight I biked 6.5 miles and did a stability ball dvd with light weights.

softballmom 08-24-2006 11:50 AM

Hello Shrinking Mama. How have you been?

I did my 25 minute run last night outside. My times are getting better. Finished first mile at just over 11 minutes and the second mile just below 12.
Tonight is WT... and I'm going to do it!

mandalinn82 08-24-2006 11:53 AM

45 min walk/run (I am being bad to the shoulder, but it didn't hurt too much, and i was ITCHING to run).
25 min stability ball (minus the arm exercises), 100 crunches.

alwaysbelieve 08-24-2006 12:48 PM

Welcome Shrinking Mama.

Today was pilates, weight lifting, and exercises for legs.

Shrinking Mama 08-24-2006 02:48 PM

Hello, hello. Thanks for the welcome. You guys are so active. It's great.

Today I did Turbo Jam Cardio Party (40 min) and TJ Abs Jam (20 min). I'm behind on my running day but don't think it's going to fit in tonight. I'm picking up company and hoping to get a brisk walk in with them this evening.

Hi Softballmom. I'm fine and exercising just having trouble fitting in the runs. I was running on the treadmill while my youngest was down for his nap but he is not cooperating any longer.

softballmom 08-25-2006 09:03 AM

My hats off to mothers with younger children at home who can still fit their exercise in. When I first lost down 10 yrs ago my kids were toddler and kindergarten, needless to say trying to be a mom and doing things for myself never quite caught on, and my weight and health took a big ding. Now my kids are 12 and 16 (drives) so they are picking up more responsibility for themselves which allows me to pick up more responsibility for myself. It is very important for you to find time and do this for yourselves, you will be glad you did in the long run (and they will, too).

I did full body WT last night. Really wanted to take a bubble bath and escape, but once I started I was glad I did it. Had a better attitude afterwards.

3fcuser1058250 08-25-2006 09:32 AM

Oh, I remember those days when the kids were priority and I cam in second... I managed though I used to go to the gym at 5:AM :faint:... I still do it when I have to but it's not easy...

Today I am doing legs...

This week DH and I were away in the Laurentians for a short 2 day vacation... We biked 30 in the mountains on Wednesday it was awesome and at times difficult with the hills...We had lots of fun...

c_laura 08-25-2006 11:28 AM

I did 40 minutes on the treadmill at a 4% incline.

and on Tuesday and Wednesday I did 30 minutes at 1% incline

mandalinn82 08-25-2006 11:31 AM

45 min walk/jog (with 15 of that running....I did 2.5 min walk, 1.5 min run, 10 times, plus a five minute walk cooldown).

Not feeling like it was enough cardio (I'm in workout mode, apparently) so I'm going to do 30-45 min of stationary bike on my lunch.

mandalinn82 08-25-2006 04:01 PM

Stationary bike done - 35 min.

srmb60 08-25-2006 04:22 PM

Sort of a mixed cardio with light weights today. No cheating, I had on my HRM. 40 minutes. It was nice for a change.

softballmom 08-25-2006 07:25 PM

Got my run in tonight. 2 mile run in 23 minutes, then some walking. Total time: 43 minutes.

Shrinking Mama 08-25-2006 09:53 PM

I ran 3.1 miles in 33:37 minutes. Then I did Turbo Sculpt (40 minutes). Tonight I did 40 minutes of exercises in the pool. I'm tired but it feels great!
