July Walking Challenge
Hope no one minds I started this up for the new month! I got a good start and wanted to report it for accountability!
I did the 3 mile WATP Express followed by 1.38 miles on the treadmill. I had a book on CD to finish, so it kept me going! Have a great weekend and KEEP WALKING! Michele :wave: |

I'm upping my goal for the month by 5 miles. I'm hoping to finish 80 miles this month. I did 4 yesterday, and will leave in a few to get in 2 more this morning before church. |
July Challenge
Hi all! Hope your holiday weekend is going well. Last month I walked 55 miles, this month I'm aiming for 60 miles. I'm off to a good start, today DH & I walked 7 3/4 miles. :cool:

Since I'm just starting with walking I'm gonna set a goal of 20 miles....2 down today.

I'd like to join! I've never counted how many miles I've done before but I'll give it a shot if it'll keep me going.
I'll aim for 30 miles since I'm just starting this. I love leslie's 4 mile challenge so I'll mostly be doing that or treadmill. :) |

Nice to see some new walkers this month. I'm doing a short 2 miler this morning, then I'm off to Cedar Point for the day! I wonder how many calories riding roller coasters burns?! At least I'll get lots of walking around the park in-just wont know how much. Have a great day! |

Miles- 10. 25:carrot: Total this month- 10.25 Husband & I walked 8 miles Sunday afternoon. Boy howdy, I was tired at the end, let me tell you. This morning the kids & I hiked an easy loop trail through the park. Except for my joints whining it was ok. Have a Happy 4th tomorrow & Happy Canada Day! |

Wow --Ticker just posted my total of 120 minutes for today when I just joined the tape parade--I just love all the lines to represent our weight loses and exersise achievements-I feel like a new woman after just 3 days of opting to get off my couch and hit the pavement. We can all keep pounding off the pounds--''POP's'' I like it.

WOW! It's great to have some new walkers along with some familiar ones this month! I also increased my goal this month from 75 to 80 ( I did 78 last month). I'm probably a bit behind already for the month, since we went camping Sun-today. I did some hiking on the trails, but the GPS tells me it was about 2.62 miles (I only counted intentional fitness walking). That puts me at 9 miles so far this month.
I got some new WATP's in the mail and I did 2 of them today: Booster mile using 3 pound weights and Morning Mile plus abs. I still have the Short Cuts for Abs and 10 minute ab-buster to try out. Now that we're back home, I'll get back into a routine and crank out the miles again. Hope everyone has had a GREAT holiday weekend! Michele :wave: |

I had a nice 4 mile walk this morning putting me at 17 for the month. My 5K went very well. I think my time was 28:57. I was expecting it to be around 33, so I'm very happy with that. Heck, I'm just happy I ran the whole thing. Genesis-What an awesome goal!!!!! I am in awe. Have a wonderful day! |

Miles walked = 18.5 Miles to go = 95.5 I managed 8.5 miles on the treadmill today...but man oh man that's booooring! I was aiming for 10 miles, but when my hubby called and said he was on his way home, that was all I needed to throw in the towel and jump in the shower. I find it so mentally difficult doing anything more than 5 miles on a treadmill. Maybe I need to change my attitude. Let's seee....Gee, I love treadmills! Maybe I'll walk 20 miles on the treadmill tomorrow!!!! Yeah right! Brandy, that's a GREAT time for your first 5k. AWESOME JOB!!!!!!!!! After the 3-Day in October I might try running again. After you have a few 5ks under your belt, do you think you'll try a 10k? |
Morning everyone.
Got another 4 miles in this morning. It was nice and cool for a change. Miles walked=21 Miles to go=59 Genesis-I agree on the treadmill being boring. I cant do more than an hour on them before I'm ready to lose it. Lucky for me Michigan is cooler than Florida. I'm not sure about a 10K. I've only been running for 6 weeks and I need to see how my ankle holds up over time. If my body can do it, I'll probably try a 10K, but it wont be til next spring I imagine. |

I am falling SO behind! First, it was the camping trip, then yesterday I had an all-day class. I have another one on Monday, too. I need to do 6 miles today to catch up for the month (if I average 2.6 miles a day, I'll get my 80 miles by the end of the month).

I did the first day of Couch to 5K today!! I ended up with 2.25 miles in 41 minutes on the treadmill. I'm still behind where I'd like to be at this point in the month, but I'm making progress.

I walked a mile around town on Friday with DD (16 lbs) in a front-pack carrier. :) And tonight I did my 2-mile Walk the Walk DVD. Great workout to get me back into the swing of things!

Today I did a total of 4 miles of WATP: Booster Mile with stretchie, Morning with 3 pound weights, and Two Mile Walk (done in 25 minutes)!
I'm still a bit behind, but feeling good about my progress. Tomorrow is another all-day class, but it's my last one before I go back to work on August 16. Of course, before that I have 10 days of vacation--all that driving and camping--how will I ever get my walks in???? Have a great evening! Michele :wave: |

Miles walked = 39.5 Miles to go = 74.5 My training partner and I met at 8am this morning at a trail in Lake Mary. It was a very enjoyable 10 mile walk with the temp peaking at around 90. Fortunately there was some cloud cover so the sun wasn't pounding directly down on us the whole time. We passed some acrobatic goats, a dead armadillo, many barking dogs, and one frisky senior in a wheel chair. The long walks are soooo much more enjoyable with a partner. Walking 10 miles solo feels like 20 - but walking 10 miles together feels like 5. Keep up the great work everybody!!! |
