I challenge you all! 200 a day!

200 jumping jacks a day! come on I know you guys can do it. It's one of the easiest exercises to do. Just do 200 a day, everday, after your done eating for the day.

Who wants to join me next week? 200 jumping jacks everyday about an hour before going to bed. Thats 1400 a week!

join the challenge and do it :carrot:

PS: 200 too much? try 100 and get higher each night

~Shawna~ 04-30-2006 08:57 PM

Hmmm....I'm up for that!!!! I'll do mine tonight.

40poundsago 04-30-2006 09:28 PM

I could do that. My husband and kids may thing I have lost it, but on the other hand I bet my 9 yr old and 2 yr old may join me. this could be alot of fun. I never find time to get on my gazelle, I think I could get this in. Actually I think I will go start them right now. I will let you know how it goes.

Michele L 05-01-2006 07:44 AM

I think I'll try this! It's something new to add variety to what we do!

Michele

pamintx 05-01-2006 08:49 AM

woo hoo! Count me in.

40poundsago 05-01-2006 09:33 AM

Well no one laughed at me, my husband just said have fun. and my 9 yr old just said you are on your own there mom. ha-ha! Then I went downstairs and well I did 61, the backs of my legs went, I don't think so... lol So I folded a load of laundry and did 70 more. put the clothes away and did the remaining 70. When I accepted the challenge I seriously thought 200 jumping jacks what a breeze!, hopefully tonight I won't have to break them up. I never thought about what it does to the backs of your legs.

DewCan 05-01-2006 12:18 PM

Sounds interesting,
I'm sure my legs will protest as well,

mandalinn82 05-01-2006 12:24 PM

I'm in for this week. Note to all fellow apartment dwellers - make sure you do them before people are sleeping, or you might get people knocking on your door...jumping jacks make a LOT of noise :-)

LadyFirelyght 05-01-2006 01:07 PM

I'm totally in! I started this with my workout today. I did 150 (did 44, walked in place for a minute, 60, walked in place for a minute, then the remaining 46) so far, and plan to do the rest a bit later. Hopefully soon I can do all 200 at once!

kristine724 05-01-2006 01:35 PM

OK! I'm going to do this! I will also probably have to break them up. I haven't done jumping jacks since high school gym class, but with some up beat music playing it could be fun!

Karma27 05-01-2006 01:58 PM

Sounds like fun! I'm in.. I'll start with 100 and see how it goes.

sweetlovin 05-01-2006 04:43 PM

lol sorry guys

I meant this week. may 1st- may 7. It was sunday when I posted this. but i bet you guys knew what I meant

I'm doing mine later today

what I usually do is 100 straight at fast tempo, then i do some stretches and deep breaths and do the last 100. try making your arms go WAY up into the air and back way down. This works the tummy really nicely.

Jen415 05-01-2006 05:13 PM

I'm afraid my belly flops too much to do any jumping jacks yet! How about if I do crunches instead?

mandalinn82 05-01-2006 05:35 PM

HAHAHA. Funny NSV - started doing my jumping jacks, planned to do 100. At #13, my pants fell down. Guess I went down a size?

Thought I'd share. Make sure you wear a belt and/or something that isn't going to fall off.

DewCan 05-01-2006 05:59 PM

Mandalinn, that is TOO funny   For sure that's a size down.
Diana

hellcatjill 05-01-2006 06:26 PM

Hey, this sounds like fun. I wonder how many calories are burned by doing 200 jumping jacks. . .

DewCan 05-01-2006 06:29 PM

Okay, I almost died doing that! How out of shape am I?! I had to keep taking breaks. In the middle of it all, I found out that I'm an Auntie again. Another nephew, boys outnumber us in my family big time.

mandalinn82 05-01-2006 06:41 PM

You can calculate it based on time and your weight here:

http://www.fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp

hellcatjill 05-01-2006 06:41 PM

It looks like for me, I'd burn:

# Minutes # Calories
1 9
5 44
10 88
20 176
30 263
40 351
50 439
60 (1 Hour) 527

Now to see how long it takes me to do 200 jumping jacks. :)

hellcatjill 05-01-2006 06:45 PM

Oh my. That is SO much harder than I thought it would be! I am breathing so hard right now, and I only did 100. I will have to try to do the other ones later tonight. Geez!

AndrewsMum 05-01-2006 07:15 PM

Jen415. im with ya on the crunches, i cant do anything that involves jumping!

DewCan 05-01-2006 08:10 PM

Holy, for me that burns 13 cal per minute. If only I could do 270 minutes of them, that's how much I have to do to lose 1 pound.
Hmm... I didn't time it though. I kept having to take breaks. Boy did those jugs of mine bounce. I can call them that as I'm breastfeeding :bb:
Hope saying that doesn't get me in trouble, I've heard there are some touchy subjects that get kicked off this site. I not really worried though.
Diana

iowasteph2 05-01-2006 09:52 PM

I did it today. It was pretty tough, but I added it onto the end of my workout. I'm glad I did!!

Michele L 05-02-2006 07:51 AM

I completely forgot yesterday, but this morning I did 50 right after my 1 mile WATP. I will do more later today.

Happy Tuesday!

Michele

iowasteph2 05-02-2006 10:21 AM

Did my 200 before work this morning. I think I'm actually a little sore in my arms from yesterday's????

DewCan 05-02-2006 11:33 AM

Good Morning
I did 30 JJ and thought I'd best do crunches before my breasts hit the floor!
happy jumping

sotypical 05-02-2006 12:32 PM

Am I too late to join?

mandalinn82 05-02-2006 12:35 PM

Come on and join us! Its actually kind of fun - taking me back to middle school P.E. classes...

sotypical 05-02-2006 12:36 PM

Okay! I am in :)

Genesis 05-02-2006 12:55 PM

I'm in!!!! I've got a May Walking Challenge started, so I'm into these challenges lately!!! 200 jumping jacks...haven't done many jumping jacks for a while so this should be interesting! ;)

ssgtswife33 05-02-2006 02:15 PM

This sounds like alot of fun... I am definitely in on this one. Since I missed yesterday's count, I'll TRY to get 400 in today.

My calves are sore from yesterday's jumping jacks. I must be more out of shape than I thought!

Genesis 05-02-2006 03:11 PM

I just did a mini-workout - 25 minutes total....

200 jumping jacks
40 squat jumps
40 push ups
40 right leg round house kicks
40 left leg round house kicks

I feel pretty good!

~ Jamie ~ 05-02-2006 03:29 PM

i'm in!! i'm going to go work on mine now!! :D

ladysaraii 05-02-2006 03:40 PM

I'm in!

I'll start tonight. I've been sick the past few days so I may not be able to do them all. I'm hopign to be able to tear into my Turbo Jam tonight...we'll see how it goes

Mrs Snark 05-02-2006 03:57 PM

I'm game to try. 200 it is.

sweetlovin 05-02-2006 04:24 PM

I did my 200 last night. It's pretty easy for me but I get really winded by 150 but I just take deep breaths and concentrate. Its fun. I'm glad so many people are joining me in this :)

awesome workout. great job!

mandalinn82 05-02-2006 04:43 PM

I break mine into 25 and do them throughout the day. It only takes a minute or so, 8 times a day, and prevents my calves from feeling like they are going to fall off. I got my 200 in today!

~ Jamie ~ 05-02-2006 04:55 PM

i made it to 150 ... not bad for not doing them since high school!
