This may be a stupid question

buuuut i was wondering, would it be a big difference to do 30 minutes of exercise a day in smaller intervals? Or would it be better just to do the 30 minutes?
I normally do 30 minutes on my elliptical trainer everyday, but today i just didn't have the oomph for it, so i did 10 and i plan to do the other 20 later.
What do you think?
