good morning!
Good morning everyone-
I never got a chance to log back in yesterday. Lydia- I am with you I am one of the biggest klutzes going, if you asked people that know me well to describe me, I am sure no one would say graceful. It's kind of a standing joke now, alas I will never be a ballet dancer. Good for you not letting the weather stop you. I don't know if you've ever tried the Walk away the Pounds (WATP) DVDs, but they are great. You can pick them up for good prices on eBay. Perfect for the bad weather days. Thanks for the pedometer information. It sounds great, so I am definitely going to pick one up. Of course, my step will probably go way down, but it will be more realistic. The weather was pretty good here and I was on a mission, so I called up my mom and we walked up to and around "the parklands" I'll put some info in with the Hopedale history for our starting point. So I had a banner day with 13,812 steps-Saturday (need to check my total) When I got back at 5pm, my 5 yr son had fallen asleep. I kept asking DH if we should wake him and he said "no, let him sleeep, he had such a busy week" Well, you guessed it, he woke up at 10:30pm and was starving. So I didn't get to bed until after midnight. I am exhausted today. Hopefully after a good breakfast, and perhaps a gallon of coffee, I'll be more alert. Dance- I didn't get my shoes yet. I have a great coupon for 40% of the lowest price at the Reebok outlet, but it doesn't start until tomorrow. I don't know if I'll make there during the week, so probably next Saturday. I'm glad to hear you found a good deal on yours. We all need good shoes if we are going to walk across country. If you'd like to e-mail me your research, I'd appreciate it. Well, time to get breakfast and off to church. I'll check in later, and get the sign-up posted. Have a great step-filled day. |
Woo hooo Lydia, you are really getting into this LOL. BTW you didn't post your total steps with all that moving around yesterday. With all those aerobics and laps you must have racked up a few points!!!!
HealthierMe that is great that you are throwing in some local history! And congratulations about all the high steps, yippee! This thread has been a great start for all of us getting into gear for the BIG march LOL. I will send you some of my info once I get it a bit more organized. I'm not sure how you are planning to do it since the maps give detail info on mileage down into the towns but I am just taking the mileage between the big cities (i.e. Hopedale to Detroit) and using that and just kind of a general idea of exactly how far it is between smaller ones the way we will be bypassing them. Trying to figure out how far each individual little town is from I90 would be a nightmare IMO LOL. I can't wait to get started and for us to get out of town! (Hopedale that is LOL) |
Tee hee, we may have some newbies over here soon! Someone asked me in another thread where they could find some challenges so I put a link to this thread saying something super was in the planning and would hit the boards soon. LOL hopefully curiosity will get the better of them and they will wander over here and join in our new cross country walk!!!

Yesterday (3/18) wasn't too bad. I ended up with 10231 steps for the day. I probably would have had more, but we went to our community theatre's production of "Lend Me a Tenor." Two of our dearest friends were acting in it and it was great fun! But that meant 2+ hours of sitting.
Hoping for another good day today. March total: 193140 Michele  |
Question for Michelle
Just read your post and saw that your goal for March is 50 miles walked. And that you have walked 43 of them to date.
My question is: With walking that many miles so far this month can you let me know how much weight you have lost during those 43 miles. Thanks |
Ah yes! I did forget to post my total for Saturday. 7021 steps! 5339 of those were aerobic. That brings my total steps to 136,917.
Today I've been helping move some more stuff from the apartment (we got the last of it today). We're half done, just taking a break before unloading the truck. In the meantime, I'm going to take a nap! |
Sprout: I have lost 9 pounds since Jan 1. 2 of those were in March. I gained and lost the same 2 pounds in Feb a couple of times, so that's why it's so low. I have not made significant changes to my diet, except eliminating pop. I HATE diet pop, so I just drink water and tea.
Yesterday, I spent much of the day in front of the computer. I was behind on my checkbook, so that took more than an hour. Then there's all these GREAT fitness forums.......and then there's some games . I am a computer junkie (lol)! The result of my sitting day (3/19) was 7297 steps. March total: 200437! Happy Monday! Michele  |
Yesterday (sunday) was a pretty good day for me. With all the moving, plus going to a couple of stores to pick up some stuff, I got in 7,737 steps. That brings my total up to 144,654. Hooray!

Good morning and Happy First Day of Spring, everyone!
I didn't post yesterday, so I need to get caught up. Steps for Saturday, March 18 = 2,027 Steps for Sunday, March 19 = 8,003 Total contributed so far = 266,198 Lydia, looks like you could crack 150 today! Hooray! |
haha, I don't think I'll be cracking 150k today... I've been soooo tired today. I was up very late last night because we had a massive t-storm. In the next county, a tornado touched down, so that gives you an idea of how bad it was. And me... I'm afraid of storms (long story), so I was all panicky until around 1:30-2am :(
You know, today has been very odd. In addition to not exercising at all, I've barely eaten. It's 4:40pm and I've not even gotten to 500 calories yet. I'm eating chicken for dinner, but I don't have any idea what else. My goal for today is 1,500 calories and for the first time, I'm having TROUBLE GETTING TO IT! Sheesh. What a weird day. |
Coast to Coast sign-up thread is out there
:) Hi ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend.
Dance, thanks for drumming up the interest for the Coast to Coast challenge. I just put the sign-up e-mail out there. I figured we could start Saturday. That'll give people a chance to sign-up. Plus I'll have my new sneaks and my new pedometer. Lydia, I hope you sleep better tonight. I am glad the storm missed your town. steps for Sunday=8,044 (need to get that total, I had a little computer glitch this weekend) ...gotta run, I hope everyone has a nice evening. |
Yay that is great, HealthierMe!! I am going to run over and sign up. I am sorry I am behind in posting the step counts... was a very busy weekend and Monday but I will get caught up! My steps for today were 14,048.
|
Dance, 14,048, wow, you were busy!
My steps for Monday= 12,004 (had to keep stepping to break that 12K mark) So far it's the three of us for the Coast to Coast challenge, but hopefully now that it's stickied, we'll have more people sign-up. We want to get to Seattle before next winter, LOL. Have a great day! |
My Monday steps were 8430, which makes a total of 208867. It was teacher inservice day, which means TONS of meetings. Then we had to go to a town 40 minutes away to sign our taxes, which meant more sitting, between the drive, the meeting and supper out. I was wiped out when I got home, even though it was only 7:30. Today will be a "normal" day, so I should go back to 10000+.
Michele  |
I think we will get more sign-ups since the thread is up. That is great that you got it stickied!! Yay! And I am hoping that my new pedometer is not measuring too high but I DID really move during both breaks and lunch hour yesterday, and also I do a lot of running around on the job. But even if it is I figure since I am up for an hour or so before I put it on and I take it off when I get home from work (so miss those steps) it will balance it out. I think I am going to try to find one of the Omron ones like Lena's. Lena, what was the model number of it again???
