Hi!
I was back at the gym on saturday for a small amount of time since about 2 months!
and I have to say I was bored, just because Im lazy.
I was wondering if you guys could help me with a problem that I have, my thighs, legs are really big, like the tops are like bigger than my waist.
I cycle everyday, sometimes 1hr somethimes 30mins, but that is traveling, part of my eveyday and doesnt count as exersize, but could this be contributing the my problem?
I was also thinking of 'learning' to run with a couch to 5k program, is that benificial or just hurting my journey?
Does anyone have any knowledge of how I can smin down my legs eps the tops as I carry so much weight on them?
Where you carry fat is largely genetic, and there isn't anything you can do to spot reduce, as such. Running certainly wouldn't hurt, whether it achieves what you want it to is partly luck. I have very heavy thighs, and I think I always will, my mum does, my grandmother did, so I don't think I can escape the genetic lottery, but I will do my best to not give up!!!
Any aerobic exercise is going to burn fat, and running is one of the best exercises as you use so many calories.
My legs are naturally big and naturally muscular and on top of that I tend to carry a lot of fat there. No matter what I do, they'll probably still be that way. The only way you can make them feel thinner is to lose the fat that surrounds all that muscle. Once that's gone, your legs will look toned and sexy!
Also, how do you think running might "hurt your journey"? It's a cardio exercise which burns calories, burn more calories, lose more weight - it's as simple as that!!
Also I have HUGE thunder thighs, but they are powerful thunder thighs and kick people over at the drop of a hat. I them.
The running will definitely burn up some of the fat. Maybe you're worried that it will make your muscles bigger so your thighs will look heavier than ever. I don't think that'll be problem, because the volume of fat you'll lose far exceeds the volume of muscle you'll build. Besides, the muscle will look smooth and sleek, whereas fat just looks big and blobby. If you want to add running to your routine, go for it!
