OKAY Curves Girls...Where are ya!
How is eveyone doing? Still curvin'? :carrot: :carrot:
I am still going 3x a week while supplementing my workouts with preventions DVD Butt, Buns and Thighs. I did a self measurement this weekend and have lost another .5 inches in the hips and and I finally have lost .5 inches in my thighs.:p Come on lets motivate each other! Tori |
Wow!!!!!
Good for you Tori34 :bravo:
I have dieted pretty much my entire life and I hate exercise:devil: but what I did realize is that exercise is what I need to do or I will never have the body that I want. This is my 3rd week of Curves and I'm also on their plan and I feel great!!! I have to weigh in tonight and I don't get my measurements done 'til next week. You're right we all need modivation to keep going..it is so easy to slip...for me that usually means and down hill spiral and it's hard to get back up. That is why I'm here. I guess I need the motivation and the feeling that there are other people out there that are truckin' along just like me. Yes, I am one of those people that has a friendship circle of skinny people and I don't feel they quite relate to me considering I don't recall any of them ever going on a diet...:o Do I sound bitter? TeeHee... Congradulations and keep going :carrot: |
I'm still going to curves 3 days a week. I've been going to womens work out world on my off days. I like to do the cardio machines there like the elliptical and treadmills.
I'm the biggest looser at my curves now at 48 inches lost! I'm getting a bit fustrated at how expensive it is at $39 a month with limited equipment. |
48 inches! WOW and CONGRATS!:carrot: That is wonderful.
I think after I have been there a while I may get tired of the same thing. I don't know. I try to do other things on my off days from curves to mix it up some becuase I know I couldn't do the same thing all the time on the same machines. Do you find you have to work out harder the more you lose? I guess you probably do since you get yourself in better and better shape:dizzy: Anyway, keep up the good work! |
I am still curving it!!! I lost another 8.8 inches overall for a total of 15.7 inches and 22 pounds!!!
I love Curves for the sames reasons - I am getting results and it is quick! I don't think I will ever get tired of Curves because I don't have time to go to a full gym and I don't like to workout that much. Once I workout I feel great and I keep going back but I don't need the "Ballys" atmosphere to feel like I am getting a good workout. I love my CURVES!!! |
I'm still curving going on 6 weeks. Lots nine inches and 5 pounds. Wish the weight was more but I know it is going to take time.
|
Hi all..I weighed today while at Curves (I weigh every Monday) and I was down another pound - Yeah! I am averaging a pound a week:D
I am so happy~ |
I've been going to Curves for about 6 weeks, and I go 3 or 4x per week. At my weigh-in on Feb 9, I'd lost 6 lbs and 14 inches.
Even though I think I need more cardio exercise than Curves provides, I feel really comfortable there -- more so than other women-only gyms I've tried. So I will definitely keep going. |
I gained back uhg. !!
iam ticket right off......doing the same as I been and gained back???!!! I startet to walk 2 miles while Iam there we will see if its working.!!! |
I just discovered 3FC a couple of days ago, and I am joining Curves next week. They're having a special that you don't have to pay the $150 start up fee, so I'm going to grab it. It's like 2 minutes away from my house, so I figure it'll be kind of hard to come up with excuses not to go! Hopefully, this works out for me. I am so tired of being fat. My goal is to be down to 150lbs by the time I graduate from San Diego State University; because unfortunately, I could be passed over for a great job because of the way I look.
Anyway, I will probably be posting on here more when I finally start Curves. Wish me luck! Sara San Diego |
Hi all...
Marinelvr80 - Good for you signing up for curves. I really like it and if you just go the first time it is not bad...I am one of those people scared of new things:^: and I am not an exercise buff. I have been to Curves 4 times this week:carrot: I usually weigh in on Mondays to chart my progress but I couldn't help myself:devil: - scales were down another 3 pounds:dizzy: but I am not to count them just yet...Hopefully monday's weigh-in will be the same or less. I am able to actually feel the muscles in my arms and thighs now..:D and that feels like progress to me! Keep up the good work everyone..and post your accomplisments! |
Just started curves
I just signed up tuesday, Had my 1st work out last night and I am going back tonight. So far I really like it! It seems to be a really good work out. I can't wait to see results. I am also changing my diet and the amount I eat. I am starting out @ 221 but my home scale says 226. I want to get to 130. Good luck everyone!
|
Good luck ladybug!
|
I'm a big Curves fan too! I've been going 3x a week for 2 years and 4 months now and I've lost 33 lbs. Of course, I'm watching what I eat too.
I had been stalled out with my weight loss lately, so I've started walking on my treadmill for 20 min. on days I don't do Curves. I'd like to walk more outdoors but I have an old foot injury and my foot can go "out" without warning - so I worry about walking too far from home. I really love it that Curves is a low impact workout and I've gained a lot of strength in my arms and legs. When I started out I had a 'frozen' shoulder due to mastectomy surgery. Now I have full range of motion in that arm. :carrot: |
the big showdown today getting my weigh-in ..after all the walking on top of the Curves .......
let ya know when I get back......hoping I lost some weight !!!!! |
I just joined Curves last week. I've had 5 workouts so far. I'm loving it, and I hate exercise. But this is soooooooo much fun it does'nt seem like work.
|
good luck lady bug fun!! love you and talk to you later sister!
|
I just got a free week pass to try curves. I did it yesterday and today and I LOVE IT!!! It is so much fun! I have already decided to join Monday and get all the measurments taken and weigh in. I am a little nervous about that. I have gained a bit back since I haven't been going to WW's all the time. I had lost 98 lbs but I have gained back about 10 lbs so I am excited about losing again. I am SO going to get under 200 lbs!!!!! :D Hope everyone has a great day! ....Sis :D
|
Hello Curvey chickies!
Go Sis! You'll be breaking the 00's any day now!!! Fantastic! I started Curves back around Halloween and have loved it. I travel almost constantly and love that I can go to any Curves in the country. It's been a really good experience everywhere I've gone, too. The ladies everywhere have been friendly and made me feel at home. Each one is a little different, but still the same. For a number of lame reasons including a new puppy & my work schedule, I haven't been to one in 3 weeks, but will be back tomorrow morning, probably at the West Valley, UT, location - I love it there! Prices must be a regional thing, because I only pay $29/mo, not the $39 someone (Valerie Joy?) mentioned before, but Chicagoland isn't a cheap neighborhood! Good workouts and great health to everyone! |
I joined Curves last week and I had my 6th workout tonight. I am going again on Saturday morning to make it 4 this week. I'm going to strive for 5x/wk. I figure that way if I have to miss a day then at least I will still get the 3x/wk in that they recommend. I really enjoy it there. Its the fastest 30 min of my life, seriously! I have a friend who had gone before and stopped and I told her I joined and now she is going again! Yay!
I lost 5lbs my first week of doing Weight Watchers Points and Curves. I dont expect it to continue at this accelerated rate but that 1st 5 lbs was a great motivator! I think what also helps is that on WW you get activity points for exercising but I dont ever use them. I could get an extra like 3-8 points on the days I excercise but I find I dont need them anyway. It kinda defeats the point, in my opinion. |
Oh, about the price thing--the one I go to in Lincoln, NE is $29/mo for automatic bank draft or $39/mo for month-to-month (write out a check each month). I think that may be where the descrepancy is.
|

YEAH!!! :carrot: In the two Months I have lost: 28 Pounds 19.75 Inches AROUND 3% Body Fat! (I don't have it in front of me) YEAH!!! I feel so much better about myself and REALLY REALLY miss it on the days I can't make it!! IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN!! :D HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY! HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!! |
Lilsmom: That is FREEKEN FABULOUS and AMAZING!!! :dancer:!!!!!!! :bravo:
I really didn't feel like exercising last night...so I came to this thread and GOT MOTIVATED to GITRDONE!!! So thanks Gals! I completed my first week at curves - so I weighed in. The technician cautioned me to not be discouraged if I don't see a loss... but, I lost 4 pounds! :jig: |
I used some tax return money to pay for a year upfront and it comes to $27 a month. Definately worth it! I'm loving it so far.
|
Joined Curves in February, approaching my second month in April. I haven't lost any weight but have lost a few inches. I am not really disappointed, but I need to work harder to workout more often and to watch what I eat more. I've been doing better over the past week or two. Also I am starting to supplement my Curves workouts with at home workouts as well. Hope you guys are still loving it!!
|
HELP you Curve Queens!!
Need some thoughts here... I've been going to curves 3x at least a week, def working up a sweat and thinking I've got correct form on each machine and workin each station so I hear that "whoosh" but after the first week, I don't "feel" it -like in my arms or butt or anywhere. My heart rate is at where it should be or higher... is this normal? |
What do you mean you don't feel it? You don't feel pain?
You don't have to feel pain to have a good workout. Curves is low impact and safe for your joints. Maybe you need to push the machines harder and rest more on the pads. I had someone watch me on the machines and found that I had incorrect form on some of the machines and once I corrected it - I saw more results. I hope this helps! |
Thanks -I'll ask one of the fitness techs to watch me on the machines... No not pain, but I usually feel some stiffness for a lack of a better word. It will be interesting to get my first month measurements taken to see what results.. I do feel firmer in my thighs and arms though! :)
|
U really shouldnt feel pain u should feel the "OMG I cant move it ONE more time" Thats what i call it ,,,its not pain......lol

Hi all..
I have been out of the loop for a while now. The 2nd week of March I was gone on a long weekend to TN and the last weekend in March I went on a weekend cruise to the Bahamas. Can you say no dieting!?! However, I am back on track now. I went to Curves on my lunch hour today and I am down another pound, which is a miracle considering what I have eaten. Curves is great and I actually was one of the clubs top losers for the month with a loss of 5 lbs and 6 inches. That is a great motivator seeing your name on the wall. It makes you know that the work is worth it. Everyone is doing great! I am so proud!:D Tori |
ok....have to brag - I've been Curving for a month & I lost 7.5 inches!!! HURRAY!
|
Congrats u 2 !!!
|
I'm glad to hear all the success stories! Keep em coming!
We are doing awesome!!! |
I finished my first month at Curves.... Drumroll please!!!
I lost over a FOOT (thankfully not vertically, as that would put me in the oomplaloopah category ) :dz: 14.25 inches gone! and 3 pounds of FAT :sumo: of the 8 pounds I'm down.. They were surprised that I really havent noticed a big difference... dont get me wrong, I can slip on my jeans right outta the dryer...but they thought fer sure I'd lost a pant size  |
My husband bought me a 1 month membership and I am going for the first time tomorrow morning.
I am excited!! |
