Default side stich

has anyone ever had a side stich on their left side? I know the right is most commen but I think I got one on the left. Also is it normal if it was bad enough to still feel pain the next day? I feel fine otherwise.

There are stretches to help avoid those you can do beforehand- place your feet shoulder length apart and spin your torso with your hands out slightly at your sides, helps stretch out those muscles

A side stitch should go away pretty quickly after you stop running or whatever exercise you were doing that caused it. It's generally caused by a muscle spasm, usually of the diaphragm. If it is still hurting a day later, that's probably a sign that it's more than just a simple side stitch. If it doesn't hurt too badly, you could just take it easy for a few days and see if it gets better. If you are in a lot of pain, you should see your doctor.

I have occasionally gotten side stitches on my left, so that's not impossible.

I used to get them only on my left side..from running. I hope you feel better. I agree they usually pass very quickly!

Good news, I feel much better today. I think I have a few muscles I over used in my back, etc. My upper back was a little sore last night too. Today I am back to normal though. Due to a summer vaction exercise was put on hold for a week and a half. My muscles need some retraining to get back where I was. I thought I could do more then I should. Learned my lesson. Thanks for the streching tips beerab. I will try them out.
