Exercise Accountabilty Dec 25 - 31

I know I'm late and no I didn't exercise either Christmas or Boxing day ... however ..... today I will. What about you?

srmb60 12-27-2005 10:04 AM

That's more like it! I did the hydro pole shuffle for 2.5 miles. I'm nicely surprised at how quickly I warmed up. It's just at the freezing point today with very little wind. It was a nice.

angeleyezx 12-27-2005 10:06 AM

I havent exercised fior like 4 days :(

osborn 12-27-2005 10:11 AM

I walked 3 miles on the air walker last night!! I weight in this afternoon - Hoping for a loss for the Holiday Week - I was really good for Christmas (I didn't eat the sweets either)

3fcuser1058250 12-27-2005 01:30 PM

Christmas day -- rans 6.23k
Boxing day -- legs :strong:
Today -- 8k run

I'm pleased with myself exercise wise, food wise is a whole 'nother story

srmb60 12-28-2005 12:23 PM

It's drizzling! I went as far as the mailbox and came back in. Called myself a chicken and went back out. I just hoofed it to the corner and back but that's 16 minutes better than nothin'.
I'm soaked, must have a nice warm shower.

3fcuser1058250 12-28-2005 12:38 PM

I just came back from a very good 7.33k run... A girl from the running group called and we went out before the rain, I think the rain coming our way Susan...

WaterRat 12-28-2005 01:33 PM

DId a good upper body workout last night :)

Cardio is about to become more dangerous - DH wants us to learn raquetball! at least we're both complete beginners...

3fcuser1058250 12-28-2005 01:43 PM

I played racket ball years ago Pat, I liked it a lot because the ball was contained in the 4 walls , it's better than tennis because with tennis I had to run for the ball OUTside of the court... I really sucked at tennis...

srmb60 12-28-2005 04:58 PM

And upper body this afternoon. I may be back on a roll here folks!

WaterRat 12-28-2005 07:15 PM

That, Ilene, is its appeal - the ball can't get too far away! Besides I figure as we're both beginners, and neither of us is terribly coordinated, we'll be equal for awhile at least. And if we don't like, we aren't out much. The gym supplies rackets, balls and glasses. Not the highest quality, but enough so we can try before we buy.

mandalinn82 12-28-2005 07:18 PM

45 minutes of DDR Sunday, Monday, yesterday, and today.

wednesdaymorning 12-28-2005 09:13 PM

I worked out yesterday, the day before, and you can bet I'll be doing it today. :) I do fancy that taebo I've been doing.
And...since I'm committing, I'll just say that I will exercise tomorrow and the next day.

3fcuser1058250 12-28-2005 10:32 PM

I also swam tonight, I must say I love it but I really, really, really suck at it... It's taking me a long time to get the breathing down right, I get out of breath after only 1.5, 25m length ... Anyone got any suggestions? At least tonight my instructor said my form was improving...

Valerie Joy 12-29-2005 01:10 AM

I did 45 mintues of curves today and 45 minutes of Tao Bo. I just started the Tao Bo and I'm already hurting really bad. I think all those kicks and stretches must have overdid it.

srmb60 12-29-2005 07:33 AM

Sorry Ilene. Breathing would be cardio yuck ptewy!

srmb60 12-29-2005 10:48 AM

I went for another walk today. It's a chilly wind but the rain must have gone off to Ilene's. Later, I'll do legs.

Valerie Joy 12-29-2005 02:57 PM

I just did 45 minutes of Tae bo. I love this DVD it really gets me sweating!

echocreek 12-29-2005 03:13 PM

I ran 3 miles every day since Saturday taking just Tuesday off (it was pouring rain)
On the weekend I run between 3-5 miles.
I ran 7 miles on day and about died- I dont think jumping from 3-7 is a wise decision! :) My time only permits about 1 hour of running time durring the week and as much time as I want on the weekend.
My knees have been protesting though the last few days, I wonder if I need new shoes already. :)

Susan -- The rains did come, last night in the form of freezing rain! We didn't have to go anywhere so it was ok...

Echo -- I find that if I run every day my knees don't like it, I go every 2nd day and they are fine. Also increasing your distance too quickly will play havock with your knees, increase only by 10% per week...

Today I had a great back and bicep workout :strong:...

srmb60 12-30-2005 12:19 PM

It is a beautiful day here. The sun is shining! But I'm just blown away by fatigue. I'm not sure what's up. I did watch CSI NY last night and got up waaaay to early to work four hours this morning. And it's that time of the month. So, I'm gonna just give in and have a wee nap. If it's still nice out, I can walk later and it's about time I did a decent ab or core workout.

WaterRat 12-30-2005 12:52 PM

Did a good cardio workout last night. So did not want to go, but once I forced myself to walk into the gym, it was okay! A night off for a party today, and then legs and cardio tomorrow. :)

srmb60 12-30-2005 03:19 PM

I went for a bike ride instead. I'm sure it took extra calories to skittle my bike out the icy driveway, but once I was on the pavement, it was great.
I agree with you, Pat. Most times getting started is half the battle ... er ... more than half.

3fcuser1058250 12-30-2005 11:47 PM

Susan -- You took your bike out at this time of year WOW you're brave!!

Today I ran 7k in nice sunny -7 crisp weather it was nice....

Valerie Joy 12-31-2005 01:22 AM

I did a two mile WATP today :carrot:

srmb60 12-31-2005 09:40 AM

Ilene, we've had a lovely break from winter these last few days. It's been above freezing with no precipitation since about the 22nd. Today is a different story. We're back to a blanket of white!
What's it been like in Chicago Valerie Joy?
I had a major binge problem last night. In an effort to battle at least part of it, I picked away with some abs, arms, isometric stuff. I feel lumpy this morning, yuck!
I'd better go run some errands before our little town rolls up the streets for the holiday!

Dinahgirl 12-31-2005 12:42 PM

Hi all, I think I'll join you. A little intro: I quit smoking a year ago and started walking and doing dvds. Not anything dramatic, but have averaged 35-40 miles a month. Now that winter is here, even in Florida it gets dark too early for me to walk after work. December was just a dead month for me as far as exercise. So yesterday I took the big step and joined the YMCA. They have these wonderful kids machines that are also great for short people (I'm 5 feet tall), so I really feel less intimidated. I'm 56 and have never been an exerciser so this is all kind of new to me. :dizzy:
