Curves is awesome!
All i have to say is curves is very very awesome. This forum was the reason i joined in march of 2005 and im still a member. The first month i joined i lost around 8 pounds and 10 inches all over my body. The workout is VERY fun and the women that work there are very encouraging, they pick u up when you are down and let you know that everyone has the same struggle..weightloss. I recommend it completely. It helps build lean muscle and if you go to the weighloss class they offer you will learn about portion sizes and everything else you can think of. I always tell everyone to try it for a week, and if you dont like it, then dont join, but usually everyone likes it after the first workout. If you dont lose any weight the first month and do your 3 workouts look at inches..which is another thing that i really like...you could stay the same and lose inches all over your body so then you dont feel so discouraged. There is always upbeat music and attitudes at curves and after your 12 workout you become an elite member and get a curves mug. LOL..i love the prizes. Anyway..just try it...after the first workout youll fall in love with it....
also i think right now they have the membership fee half off at all curves=) -Court:dizzy: |
Right I love it so far, always meet someone new,or meet up with someone u just met. I met this teacher from our next town over and were meeting this sat. for our work out. I think its a great thing.
weighing in maybe next week. i dont want to overdo. the weigh in thingI get dissapointed too fast ....and give up :( But I love the place, wish i joined before |
I hope everyone is doing well. I went to curves yesterday and didn't do my usual effort. I did workout videos the day before ( focusing on arms and legs) and I think I over did it 'cause the muscle in the front of my thighs are killing me. So today I decided to take it easy and wil return to curves tomorrow and sat. I also am using my bally's membership 2x a week now. Have a good wk. everyone

I have posted in a couple other places here so I will try here...
I joined Workout Express, similar to Curves and have gone twice and really like it. Have had a bad cold this week so I couldn't go but will start up 3 x's a week to start next week. I am older so I have to take it a bit slower and very out of shape so no pushing right now, just learning the machines. The instructors there are wonderful, I really love them...such happy energic women WOW.... Good luck everyone and I will ck back in. Phyllis |
Haven't posted for awhile but have been lurking. Hope everyone is doing well. I love Curves!!! I start the nutrition classes next week. Has anyone started them already? I was just wondering how you like them.
Have a nive evening everyone. TJ |
I started the classed last Monday. The person who lead our class brought food so that we can learn how to read nutrition labels and she gave suggestions of good foods to eat that fit within the plan. I am on the first phase which is 1200 calories and 100 carbs. It is pretty strict but I am working at it hard to stick to the plan.

I am a curves member also! I really love it. I havent gone in a long time but I just recently made the decision to better myself so I am going back. I love how nice the employees are. So great!
I will find out in a month if I lost any inches! I hope so!!! Good Luck everyone! |
I started the 6 week challenge - just completed the first week of the diet. Not bad. Wanted to get used to eating 6 smaller meals. It actually worked out great! Felt so so much better. Will like it more when I can incorporate more fruit. Discovered I DO like baby spinach leaves in a salad.
What I don't like - the eating something different for each meal for each day - I'm going to duplicate some breakfasts and lunches to make it easier and more cost effective. Also did not like one of the recipies. Went to curves 3 x's - need to up that and maybe use my bike/yoga DVDs. Eating out will be a challenge as well (family wants to go out on Monday for Mexican). Will keep you in the loop.....Sue |
I joined Curves last week. For me, it's one of the easiest commitments to exercise. The two times around the circuit seem to go really fast, so by the end, I'm kinda surprised that it's already over.
I also liked that they are reasonable about your weight and fitness goals. They were more intent on small, short-term goals, which seems more manageable. Good luck, everyone! |
Hello fellow curves members. I'm glad you all are here. It's so nice to talk to others who are doing the same excerise program you are doing. I recently decided to up the anty and go back to bally's gym (have a lifetime membership) and then decided to get a personal trainer. I will see him 2x/wk. I had my first session this morning and it was pretty good. Alot of hard work, but I need the extra push. I 'll be doing that in conjunction to curves as well as videos 5x/wk. I'm hoping to lose 90 more inches overall (lost 11.50 so far). I hope you all cont. to enjoy curves and have a great workout.

I love Curves
I've been a member for close to a year....but not always good about going...
However I recomitted over the holidays and have lost 11 pounds:carrot: I love the time there...it goes so fast. I didn't think I was ready for the advance workout....my pulse goes to 85% by the 1st check....and a tad over by the 3rd.....I'm going to wait until I'm in a little better shape or hit a plateau. We are having a Blast it off Challenge at our Curves.....some free months to the top 3 losers.....wish me luck. I'm thinking about increasing my Curves visits from 3x a week to 5......or adding walking on my off days. It would be fun to have a Curves Challenge here too...anyone interested? |
Kim thats great giving free months to the top loosers! I am the top looser at my curves now with 42 inches lost!
I have a free two month pass for Bally's so I've been going M, W & F to curves and the other days to Bally's. I do feel like I'm working harder at ballys with a higher heart rate and sweating more. The thing I love about curves is the friends I've made there and the feeling that we're all in it together! At bally's I just feel like I'm lost in a crowd. I have two months to make my decision of which I'm going to stick with Curves or Bally's. I wish I could keep going to both! |
GOOD JOB!!!
you 2 are doing great!! keep it up!! We dotn have a Ballys here so cant go there. hey valerie did they straighen out ure account at curves? |
