Slow and steady or fast and furious??

  • OK, I have a question. The answer may be obvious to some , but I cant decide. Which is better: A long (approx 1 hour) walk around the neighborhood pushing the stroller (some sweat, but not alot) -or- A shorter (approx 35 minutes) treadmill walk at a faster pace with some light jogging(ALOT of sweat)??? Any insights will be GREATLY appreciated!!
  • I like both! It depends on what I feel like on a particular day, and I do like to alternate, too. Maybe not the answer you expected!

    p.s. Throw in some weight-work three times a week or so and you've got a Magnificent Plan!
  • Tig took the words out of my mouth. BOTH is better than either. However, even more important is to mix in both aerobic exercise (like walking) and strength training (like some work with weights). When losing weight and maintaining weight-loss it is critical to focus on preserving and building lean-body mass, so metabolism helps instead of hinders your efforts.
