Mine have gotten significantly better over the last week or so! I think after letting them heal from the last time they were hurting really badly has made them a lot stronger
Also, I've been introducing impact workouts to my routine, but really slowly. I started with just doing elliptical, which is obviously no impact, and now I am doing short jogs on pavement (running on the road feels a LOT better than the concrete of the sidewalk...maybe that will help you a bit?).
I think just letting them rest and heal is important, and each time you work them and let them recover, they will just get stronger.
