Treadmill

  • Hello all

I have decided to get a good treadmill... Mu current weight is 325 lbs so of course I need to get a good one... I found a place where they sell re-furbish commercial models price ranging from 1,300-1,900... Price is step but for a commercial I would imagine it would last.

Does anyone here use a good treadmill that has lasted them for a good price.. Of course weight capacity is a factor.

    Joe
  • Sorry this is going to be kinda vague, but my mom has had the same treadmill since i was 8, and I'm 21 now. I don't know what the brand is or how much she paid for it, but the next time i see her i'll be sure to let you know. And the weight capacity was great, my aunt would come over and use it with no problems and she weighed 426.
  • I own a Landice L8 treadmill and love it. It even came with a lifetime warranty on everything. 500 lb weight limit. I bought it because Consumer Reports had it as their number one treadmill for a couple years in a row. I had an old Horizon one before the Landice and I didn't care for it at all.
  • I have a Pro-form treadmill that has to be more than 10 years old (we bought it when we lived in a different house and had it then). I think we paid about $900 and it's still going strong. Granted it had many years off. :P

I started out weighing more than you (and I'm shorter) and struggled to get even 10 minutes in without wanting to die from the struggle. I wish you lots of luck.
  • I have a Weslo Candence 840. It's an older model that I bought used about 15 years ago from a little old lady (true story). I've used it consistently over the years and it still works great! I did have to replace the belt and rollers last year, but it now works like a champ. I would definitely buy another.
  • Still looking
  • I bought a treadmill at a Peddler's mall for about $30 and it's perfect. It's called Tredex.

Thanks - I will check out that brand- I am looking at a used Precor has a I year warranty on parts ( refurbish) for $1,000.00 and a Nautilus for $550.

As I have read through some sites, some say get a commercial while others have had success with a home treadmill.
