I think the best thing you can do for yourself to give yourself a feeling of well-being is to invest in a good electronic treadmill. (Not the cheapie kind that you will quit using after a few months.) Having it right in the house makes it easy to go on it for 45 minutes three or four times a week. For those of you who haven't exercised in awhile you will find out how GOOD you feel after doing this and will actually WANT to do it. All you have to do is walk briskly - you don't have to run. Look in the magazine "Runner's World" for the top rated treadmills. I invested a Life Fitness treadmill and I'm very happy with it. TRU and Precor are good too.

I found my treadmill used in the paper. I was quite a hassle to get someone to meet me at the person's house that was selling it and having them move it but I saved a lot of money this way. Also, check out www.yahoo.com Auctions and www.ebay.com Auctions. If you can't afford a treadmill another good exercising machine is the Nordic Track and you can get one of those pretty cheap on Ebay. I wouldn't buy a Nordic Track Walkfit treadmill though because this is a manual treadmill and is hard on your feet and knees.

Treadmills...

I bought a Welso treadmill from Kmart about 3 yrs. ago. It was about $400.00 and I just LOVE it. I would really freak out if it broke.

Hubby's friend said, "waste of $$$" . He knows his wife but not me. I was very determined! He said it would be shoved in a closet within a month. WRONG! I use it faithfully everyday...

Hubby says he has to buy a new belt for it cause it is wearing out:) LOL Does anyone know who sells just the belt???

Take care and thanks for listening:)

needssupport 03-14-2001 07:31 PM

Sherrie, I don't know who sells just the belt. But I did want to say "Good for you!" . My hubby had to take ours apart to fix the belt. My daughter said we should be proud. She didn't think too many people wore out treadmills! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Dontworrybehappy, You are SO right about the walk making you feel good.

Treadmills

Needssupport,
Thank-you so much for writing back. Its nice to see that someone else likes treadmills and it is also nice to when ya get a message from someone "walking in your shoes". (by that I mean, wanting to lose weight). There are so many places on the net where you can find buddies but I think 1/2 of them give up when the going gets tough and forget that they are buddies with someone. They never write. I am looking for someone to give me inspiration and a pat on the back when I am doing good. So far no luck...except for you:) Thanks again...

I walk on my treadmill 2x in the am and then 2 more in the pm. It takes me 30 min. each time. I started walking on the treadmill cause I was ashamed to go to the gym when I was real big and also cause I have 3 kids and you never have to worry about taking them out in the rain, cold, or heat. (My kids r 8, 3 and 1) Spending that $400.00 along with my determination has totally changed my self esteem and my life. If it broke tommorow am, I would have another one by tommorow night! LOL

The only other form of exercise that I do other than running after my kids and all the neighbors kids is the Ab-Slide. I do this 8min. before I walk in the am and again 8min. in the pm. I love and swear by this also!!! It is really helping me with my tummy:)

Well, I think I will end this now. I am sleepy. Maybe I will check on ya tommorow. Take care and "KEEP WALKING"...Sherrie

needssupport 03-15-2001 09:02 PM

Sherrie, Wow, you certainly have me beat! I walk on the treadmill 2-4 times a week for 45-60 min. I was doing a lot of exercise videos. I seem to get bored with the same routine. I have a million videos, but I consider it an investment in my health! Amazingly, I really do use most of them. Wow, four times a day! Makes me tired thinking about it..........Do you do anything with weights? I like to use them once, or on a good week, twice a week. I know what you mean by needing a pat on the back...this losing weight AND GAINING HEALTH is tough work. So, consider your back patted today....4 times a day, wow!

Sherrie66 03-15-2001 10:38 PM

Treadmills...

Needssupport,
I messed up when I wrote that post last night. I ment that I walk 2 miles in the am and 2 miles in the pm. (A total of 4 miles a day). So, I guess I walk 28 miles a week cause I usually do this 7 days a week.
Suprisingly, I dont really get tired of walking. It kinda relaxes me at first and then gives me energy when I am done.
My kids are great when I exercise too. My 8yr. old is at school and my 3yr. old watches a movie or Nick Jr. and my 1yr. old I usually have on my bed playing with toys. Believe it or not, he doesnt even try to get down. It helps so much when the kids understand your routine and cooperate with you.
I cant remember if I told you or not but I started my weightloss battle jan. 2000. I was 170 when I started. I continued till july when my mom died and got down to 126. Then I quit...I didnt want to do ANYTHING after she died. I gained 21lbs. between july and dec. then jan. 2001 I started again determined to get it off once and for all... I am down to 132 now. I want to be 110. This is my goal.
When I reach my goal, I am gonna quit smoking. A very bad habit I admit but I just cant lose weight and quit smoking at the same time. I figure if I get to 110 then I can afford to gain a few and not hate myself for it. (some say you gain weight when u quit smoking)
I guess I will say goodnight...I will write tommorow.

needssupport 03-17-2001 05:50 PM

Sherrie, You still have me beat. Even in an hour, I don't get in 4 miles YET. But when I first started, going fast was about 1 1/2 miles an hour. I cool down faster than that now! I'm 45 and I don't think I ever learned much about physical fitness. So, I had to start at the beginning. But I am learning, but it is a challenge. Sounds like you have wonderful kids! It is so good that you are exercising even though it is very difficult with children. Twice a day. I still say WOW. Keep working hard and keep posting. I don't think very many people want to hear of health goals, except here. I think it is a wonderful blessing to be able to come here to "talk". Twice a day............wow :)

Sherrie66 03-19-2001 07:28 PM

Treadmills...

Needsupport,
You are great for my ego! LOL Hey, everyone has to start somewhere. When I 1st got my treadmill, I only went about 2mph. and that was about 3yrs. ago. Now I go at about 4mph. and It takes me 30min. for 2 miles. Take your time about walking faster or you will get frustrated and then just give up.
You are a very nice person it seems and I look foward to getting little emails from you each day:) I havent been on the computer all this weekend cause I have been real busy around my house. This is why I havent gotten back with you.
Take care and I will see ya tommorow....FRIEND! Sherrie

needssupport 03-20-2001 10:40 PM

Hi, Sherrie Glad to be an encouragement to you! I look forward to seeing how your day was and "talking" to you, too! I only got to walk for 25 minutes today. My grandson was here for the day.... my oldest daughter (mother of the grandson) was here some of the day... my other daughter was in the mood to talk... and I would do NOTHING to discourage that . She's in college and I LOVE it when she talks to me! I did some ab exercises, too. What is an ab-slide? I've got a couple of videos of ab exercises that I do. I'm really sorry about you losing your Mom. That must be really hard.

Needssupport,

How are you this evening? I have done really good today. I also weighed myself and I am down to 131lbs. I am starting to feel much better about myself. I can actually walk by a mirror and look in it now! HAHA I have 21 more lbs. before I reach my goal. This may seem like alot but when I reach my goal I want to quit the awful habit of smoking and I want to be able to gain a few without disgusting myself! Know what I mean???

I walked my 4miles today and I did my AbSlide for 20min. (this is a little machine with rollers on the bottom) I could try to explain what it looks like and how it helps but just go to www.abslide.com and you will see it. It helps with the tummy area. I have used it faithfully for 30 days since the day I got it and I just love it. It is really helping me:)

Do you have a goal in mind or a date you would like to be there by? Just wondering. Not sure if I told ya but I want to reach my goal by the middle of June. Short term or long term goal???

I try to walk early in the am and later in the pm but if I know I wont be home that evening then I walk in the afternoon instead. I really try hard not to miss cause if I walk in the afternoon then go somewhere at night, I feel a feeling of accomplishment. (I also feel I can cheat a little and not feel guilty:)

About 2mths ago, I made a goal for myself to walk 4 miles a day for 30 days! I reached my goal and now I cant stop! LOL I decided to start another 30days and now I am ADDICTED! HAHA

I will say goodnight now. How about if we weigh-in every mon? what do ya think?

Take care...***HUGS***Sherrie

needssupport 03-21-2001 08:19 PM

Hi Sherrie, I've seen abslides and the other ab machines before. I guess I just had a brain lapse! We have a really old version-just a wheel, but it works pretty well. You have used it 30 days! Wow again! As for goals, the only one I really have is just to take one day at a time and eat healthy. I just want to not be obsessed with sweets. They were really my downfall! As for weighing in on Monday-I just started that last week. I also post on the Christian Encouragers. I finally got over the pride part and posted my weight. It was very hard for me to be honest about my weight.... but if I'm gonna have support I have to do it! Now that I'm on a roll, if you want me to do that with you too I'll be glad to. As of last Monday my weight was (gulp!).... 178. Sometimes I may not post it till Tuesday. Hubby is off on Mondays. I guess I've" talked" enough tonight . Have a good day tomorrow!

Sherrie66 03-21-2001 09:36 PM

Needssupport,
Hi friend. I am happy to see that you had a good day. Thanks for posting your weight. That isnt sooo bad. I know you can do it. BTW, what is your name so ? I feel strange calling you Needssupport. LOL

My day was good but busy. I helped a neighbor out that got into a car accident mon. I took her to see her car and she started to cry. It was awful. She had no trunk left:( It was a Dodge Interepid 2000. She had just dropped her baby off at the babysitter and was on her way to work, stopped for a yellow light and the Diesel truck behind her didnt want to stop so he plowed into her at 45miles an hr. Her hubby is in the Navy and on a ship. I thank God that she had her seatbelt on and her baby and 5yr. old werent in there. The rear windshield shattered too and glass was ALL over. Anyways, I took pictures for her and then had them developed so she has them for the lawyer and the insurance co. She cant move her neck or shoulders and is in much pain. I feel bad for her but I also cant help but feel bad for the guy in the truck. Even though it was his ignorance or him not paying attention...I just have a feeling he is going to suffer too. (emotionally and financially)

As far as my diet and walking, I had it all done before I left! For some reason, I was really hungry today. Maybe it was the stress of the above or something and then seeing all the good food at the grocery store??? I did good though. I usually have a bowl of Granola and banana cereal around 8pm. but I was soooo hungry and felt myself getting ready to binge that I ate it around 630pm. That helped and I felt satisified. Now I think I can make it till tommorow...:)

Take care and I will see ya tommorow my friend, Bye....Sherrie

P.S. How do you get the waving smilies??? They r just sooo cute?

needssupport 03-22-2001 02:25 PM

Hi, Sherrie! Thanks for the encouragement. Knowing that alot of people here have started at my weight or above and are losing does give me encouragement. I have NEVER been this heavy in my life. People that say it is harder to get it off after 40 are right. That's why I'm lifting weights. Everything I've read says that will help. Yesterday was tough. I wanted to eat everything sweet in my house. I had a very tiring day and when I looked back at what I ate I found that I had only had 1 fruit. No wonder!!!!!!!!!I guess I'll learn some day that those simple carbs are really important for my energy level. I also had very little water-dehydration,too! When I am tired I want sweets. I don't know if any of that applies to you yesterday or not. Sometimes when I have a stressful day, I realize I have not given my body the fuel that it needed. (and I wonder why I'm hungry...) I bet your neighbor was thrilled to have your help. That was so nice of you! Hey, you have a message under treadmill-I think someone was trying to post here, maybe. "Talk" tomorrow. Bye! ( it's : wave : without the spaces) He is adorable, isn't he?

Sherrie66 03-22-2001 09:09 PM

Hi friend...

You forgot to tell me your name silly:) I feel funny calling you needssupport.
I had a great day today! Everything just seemed to go perfect from the get-go. I just couldnt resist slipping onto the scale this am. I am down another lb. to 129lbs. I am sooo excited:)
There are many who are LARGE on this board! You are not even big really! I started my diet at 170 so I know you can do it:) Whenever you feel yourself slipping, put a mental picture in your head of how you are gonna look when your done. That should stop the craving or even post a picture of what you use to look like on the fridge. Trust me...it really helps!
I am 5'3" and 170 just wasnt me. I wanted to let the real me out. It is everyones personal decision of how they want to look. (someone else maybe happy at that) All I know is you have to be happy with yourself, otherwise you will never make anyone else happy.
I am getting happy now after a long while and I will be estatic when I reach my goal:)

Take care my friend and by for now...

needssupport 03-24-2001 10:47 AM

Hi, Sherrie, Good job on more weight loss! Sounds like the new you is ready to pop out soon! Sounds like your goal is just around a few more corners. :spin: Thanks for the tips. I have a picture in a frame of when I was at a good weight already. I also post Bible words around the house to give me encouragement. Sometimes I go to the Richard Simmons website for his quote of the day, or this site.(I forget what quotes are under in this one) Yesterday was tougher, and I didn't do as well. But today is a new day and yesterday wasn't out of control like I used to be. And so I keep going! Have a lovely weekend and keep up the good work! Debbie

Hello everyone,

I have lost 50lbs from watching what I eat but mostly from exercise. Unfortunately, my life has become so hectic I put exercise on the back burner.

It started with 2 weddings back to back. I was the maid of honor for both. It was my sister's and best friend's wedding. My other stresser this year is my work. I am a teacher in the South Bronx and it has been such a stressfull year. If that wasn't enough I have become engaged. My fiance is Swedish and we made the decision for me to move there. However this is a long process. I need to obtain a residence permit which thank God I am at the end of...so soon i will get it and I can be with my fiance. I will leave this coming June.

I used to walk on the treadmil at about 3.5mp/hr..for 60 minutes about 5-6 times a week. I am down to doing no exercise whatsoever. So I could really use your support. I went from 240lbs>190lbs..and would like to get down to 135lbs. My reasoning for the first 50lbs was these weddings..and it was motivation enough..now mine is coming (we are eloping..no big wedding thing) but I need more motivation. Hope to hear from you all soon!

Thanks,

Sherrie66 03-26-2001 12:27 AM

Hi Debbie and Danielle...

Danielle,
You are doing great on your weightloss! Keep up the great work. I think having your own wedding is a great incentive to lose all your weight. Keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.

Debbie,
Well, I have to confess that I took the weekend off of diet and exercising. I am feeling kinda guilty but I guess I shouldnt. I havent been bad in almost 2 mths. On fri. I went out with 2 cousins. I borrowed a sweater from my sis cause I was at her house for my nieces bday. I was feeling very good about myself. The sweater was a short one and I had a pair of size 7 jeans on. They were all saying I was looking skinny. It was so strange cause I have NEVER in my life been called skinny! Well, tommorow is the start of the week and I am back to my eating right and exercising... I will reach my goal.

I will write ya tommorow. Take care and be good...your friend, Sherrie

MommaCristy 03-27-2001 10:20 AM

May I jump in here? :0)

Hi Sherrie, Debbie & Danielle,
I was reading the conversations between Sherrie & Debbie and wanted to reply but never saw anyone else reply so thought maybe it was *kinda* a private conversation, but since I saw Danielle jump in I WILL TOO :0) I've already talked to Sherrie on another board, but I'll give a short intro here for Debie & Danielle.
My name is Cristy friends call me Cris, I'm 24, fulltime work at home mom of 3 - ages 5, 3, & 1 (about to be 6, 4, & 2 *sniff sniff*) I started this weighing 219lbs, and in the past 2 weeks I've gotten down to 213lbs YIPPEEE GO ME!! :0) I've also lost a total of 4 1/2 inches all over my body which makes me happy :0) I've just changed my exercise routine, I was walking the treadmill 30 minutes, or atleast a mile if it was a bad day monday through friday, but I've just added Saturday into that routine, and nightly exercises as well, alternating from free weights, crunches, yoga & tae bo on Mon- Friday

My kid's aren't that great when I'm on the treadmill. I get up at 7 (use to be 5:30 but now that I don't have one of my daycare kid's I refuse to get up that early when I have daycare kid's sometimes till midnight) which use to be an hour before they got up so it left me 30 minutes to walk & 30 minutes to shower and get dressed before they'd get up. Well now they wake up the minute they hear me going downstairs. I've tried to leave them up in their bedroom, but either Dylan (5) opens their bedroom door's for them and let's them out or I feel bad for letting them cry lol and get off and go and get them. I turn on the tv to disney which they love, give them ton's of toys to play with, but they are always making me yell at them for fighting or get off and break a fight up and things like that. I dunno why they do this...They don't do it when I'm sitting here on the computer or when I'm doing laundry or anything, just seems like when I'm on my treadmill and trying to get my exercise done.

Anyhow this has gotten long so I'm gonna go now, I'm new to the board's and still trying to figure out how they work so if I make any mistakes please just popp me on the head and tell me how to do it :0)~ Hope to get to know you guys sooner.
Cris

Welcome Cris and Danielle, It's good to have you gals here with us for encouragement and support! This weight loss journey is a tough road, and it is so good to have company! ;) Danielle- getting married! I know that you want to look your best for THE DAY! I'm glad you've come here for some extra support. Remember your husband-to-be is marrying you because of what's inside, not outside. That is the neat thing about my hubby. He has never complained about my weight. I want to be thinner and healthier to be with him as long as I can! I think that knowing he loves you now even though you want to lose weight is sooo good! I have an idea.....for motivation, we could list our exercise times for the day-maybe something sillly like sweat drops or something? Like yesterday, I did 40 min. on the treadmill-40 sweatdrops for me. :smug: Sherrie- Congratulations on the size 7s ..great job! I think you should have a new sign-in name-skinnysherrie66. Sounds pretty good, I think. Weigh in, I'm down a pound. After the fight I've had this week with sweets craving, I'm sssooo glad I didn't gain! Cris- 3 children and daycare in your home. I can't imagine getting in exercise. You will have to be really creative-how about getting your kids an exercise video and letting them exercise while you're on the treadmill? Doesn't Elmo have one? I mean, they couldn't fight if they were exercising...my kids always argued when I was on the phone-usually long distance to a friend. It was so frustrating. They were happy all the rest of the time...just when I was on the phone. And since I was a stay-at-home mom that communication was essential! Have a lovely day, everyone!

MommaCristy 03-27-2001 04:05 PM

WOW, that is a great idea I didn't think of that!! (heading to ebay now to see if I can find one!) They love doing my yoga infact they 'beg" me to watch it lol and they all love doing it, I never thought of getting elmo-size for them while I'm on the treadmill wow thanks for the wonderful idea!!

Hi Debbie and Cris...

Debbie,
I think skinnysherrie66 sounds great! LOL I think I will get to my goal of 110 first and then just maybe I will believe it...isnt it funny how YOU can look at yourself and see no weightloss but when people start to notice then it is so good for the ego:) I still look down even now at my belly and see fat.

Cris,
I have 3 kids too but one is in 3rd grade so he is in school and even when he is home he doesnt bug me. But I also have a 3 and a 1yr. old. They are very good when I am on the treadmill. I guess I conditioned them..LOL My 1yr. old sits on the bed and plays with toys and both of them watch nicklodeon on tv. Thank goodness for that channel:)

I better go for now. The kids are calling...I will write more later. Bye, Sherrie:wave:

needssupport 03-27-2001 08:17 PM

Good evening everyone! Cris, I'm glad you liked the idea. I hope it works. Don't you just love eBay for those wonderful bargains! I have purchased sooo many exercise videos from folks there . I decided it was an investment in my health. And I use almost all of them. I get bored easily , so the change is good for me. Let me know if it works. Do you have a library nearby? Sometimes they have kids videos-maybe they would have that one. Then you could try before you buy! SkinnySherrie, Sometimes after losing weight it is hard for women to see that it is gone. The other time I lost, I remember catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror and FINALLY realizing that was me! It was like a revelation... you dream of it, then you can't believe it's real. Maybe because you've been wishing for it so long... But, young lady a size 7 says it's real! Enjoy how you look now and LOOK at how far you've come! Debbie

needssupport 03-27-2001 08:21 PM

P.S. How do you get these messages to stay in paragraphs the way you put them? Mine always end up in one big long paragraph. Help :?: Debbie

Sherrie66 03-27-2001 11:30 PM

Hi Debbie...

Thank-you so much for the inspiration! I needed it. It seems more real when you tell someone that has their own weightloss struggles. I havent reached my goal yet but I will ! You are such a great buddy. I am very happy I found you. I am also looking foward to congratulating you in your weightloss success too.

If you skip a line then your paragraphs should stay separate. Try it and let me know if you still have problems. I had that problem myself too.

Take care and I will see ya tommorow...Hugs, Sherrie

MommaCristy 03-28-2001 11:18 AM

Getting tired of me yet?? lol

Hey Sherrie & Debbie,
wow our kid's are pretty close to the same age. I don't usually have my 5 yr old here but it's spring break so I'm "stuck" with him here too lol he's usually really good and helps out alot it's the 3 & 1 yr old that seem to wanna fight, which is really wierd because they usually get along great, I think it's that whole mom can't watch us as close and do anything about it thing!! lol I never thought about going to the library I live about 2 minutes from the library here on base so maybe we'll do that this afternoon after nap time :0) Mine got tired of Nick, so now they wanna watch toon disney all the time which is fine they have good show's to I can do with just about anything but Barney and Teletubbies lol

p.s. Danielle are you still with us? :0)
Cris

Sherrie66 03-29-2001 12:37 AM

Tired of you? Never:)

I enjoy getting emails from y'all. (can you tell I am from the south? LOL
Maybe you ought to start watching Barney! My 1yr. old will sit and watch the whole movie which is about 1 hr. long. and he cracks up when he sees Teletubbies. I think he likes the baby in the sun. He even sings..."I love you, you love me..."
Has anyone weighed in this week? I am the same...

Take care and I will see you tommorow...
Sherrie 170/128/110.

MommaCristy 03-29-2001 12:11 PM

Hey Sherrie :0)

Actually we watch Barney and Teletubbies because my Niece loves Barney and I don't mind them watching Barney because they learn stuff, but on Teletubbies they don't talk so I don't (in my opinion) think that the kid's learn enough from them...but they are cute lol

I also wanted to post and let you gal's know that I am going out of Town on Monday so I won't be around much till after the 9th (when I get back) I'm going "back home" to NC for my bestfriend's wedding. We're gonna go to the beach, ride mom's horses and party :0) lol I can't wait. I'm gonna try not to drink too much though because I don't wanna gain back the 6lbs I lost lol I'll still be doing my daily walks, mom has a treadmill but I may just walk on her ranch, it's sooo pretty and I can't take advantage of that right now here in CO sooooo lol :0)

Anyhow, I weigh in daily to record it on my food journal, I'm still the same but atleast I didn't gain :0) Talk to you soon!!

Skinnysherry, yes, I did weigh in. I was down 1#. This is gonna be quick, I have a stomach thing and I'm not pushin' it. I still can't get my stuff to stay in paragraphs. Glad you're doing well!! We'll miss you, Cris. Where are you, Danielle? Oh, I need to go.... Debbie

Sherrie66 03-30-2001 12:17 AM

Hi Buddies...

Debbie,
You are sooo silly! (my name thing) I guess if you are gonna call me that then I better continue to be good. I cant wait till I reach my goal. It sure will have been a long time in coming but the struggle will DEFINATELY be worth it. I sure hope you are feeling better. Also, congrats on your 1 lb. too. Remember, in terms of butter...1 lb. is alot!!! Lets continue to be LOSERS 2gether:)

Cris,
I hope you have a great little Vacation. We will miss you. Be good to yourself:) What part of N.C. does your mom live in? Sounds like a very nice place. Are you taking the little ones too? Anyways...have fun:)

Danielle,
Where R U??? We miss ya...

Take care and big hugs to all... Sherrie

Bragg) I'm flying into Raleigh and we're gonna drive to Raeford, it was 75.00 cheaper so what the heck that is atleast 2 days of a rental car lol I will be taking my daughter Cierra who is almost 2 and the boys are staying with daddy...it's gonna be a boy's week without the girls kinda thing. They are upset that they don't get to see Nana and Papa, but Cierra ride's for free and that's the only reason she's going lol I may be going up to VA to kings dominion are you anywhere near there? I'm only gonna be there for about 6 days (since arriving late and leaving fairly early) so I'm not sure if I'll have the time to do it but if I do maybe we could get together and meet? I know I just met ya but it was just an idea :0) Talk to ya soon

Hi Cris, Danielle, and Skinnysherrie, CRIS, have a lovely trip! I meant we'd miss you when you were gone... 6 days without your normal responsibilities will be lovely, won't it? Relaxing, refreshing, hey, can I go with you? SKINNYSHERRIE, I'm gonna keep calling you your new name, because you need to hear it! I may rename myself gettingsupportandgettinghealthy -you like it? I'm glad you are looking forward to your goal with anticipation. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm glad for your friendship and encouragement, because you have been where I am-frustated with your weight and wanting to do something about it... DANIELLE, WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?! Gotta run, hubby's home...

Hi Skinnysherrie and Cris and Danielle (wherever you are!) Skinnysherrie. How long have you been losing? I heard somone say that the best way for long term weight loss was to take a break on the weekend...if you've been at this a long time, maybe a break would be good. I know what you mean though about trying to get back on track afterwards ... flu last week.. couldn't eat much one day.. was REALLY hungry the next day.. ate everything in sight, I think....pms... bloating... now I'm feeling better.. and what do I want to eat ?...just about anything I shouldn't..... I weighed this morning, gained 1#. Considering the last few days I'm thankful it wasn't more.. didn't feel like exercising for 2 days... BUT today was better... I didn't eat everything in sight (just wanted to) and weigh in next Monday should be better... P.S. DON'T forget how far you've come! And DON'T be too hard on yourself... You will get back on track. I will end with a quote from Prevention magazine "You've come too far in life to be ordered around by a cookie!" (or chips or anything else)"Talk to you tomorrow"

Hi Debbie...

I just loved that quote! And I think you are right, I have come too far to fail now. It seems as though the last few lbs. are the hardest.

I also think you are right about taking breaks every now and then. That way I dont feel like I am giving up everything I like just to lose weight.

Thank you sooo very much for your friendship and support! You are stuck with me now and I will always be here for you... till next time my friend...

Good afternoon all! Today has been better. I'm eating healthier and feeling better. Yesterday, i did interval training and I'm not even sore today. I guess the one thing I am very proud of is that I can now use 5# weights most of the time.... gotta run Grandson is up. Debbie

Doing better today...

I did not walk on my treadmill sat., sun., or mon. I feel as though I need to confess. On mon., I actually thought about giving up on my goal. My daughter has been sick with a tummy ache all day and my stress about that is at a alltime high. But...I am happy to say that I decided not to give up! I have worked too hard and too long not to reach my goal. You know, I was even rationalizing it saying, "I am 130 and 5'3" that is skinny enough".No ...no...no, I will reach my goal. My hard work and determination will reward me with my goal. Does anyone else have down times like these??? They are hard to get over but believe it or not...I feel sooo much better today now that I know I have done my 4 mile walk. I even have more energy than when I dont walk. Do y'all feel the same??? It seems strange to me...:?: Thanks for listening...
