I just have to brag...since you folks on the exercise page helped me pick out socks for walking, I have really improved. I sometimes remember to log my activities in FitDay, and I see that back when I started I walked for 20 minutes and burned 60 calories. Today, I took a fairly vigorous hike up the desert canyon behind our house. There is a lot of loose sand and rocks to walk through and it is all up hill. I was out there for 85 minutes and burned 413 calories. I just use these calorie counts to show the change, I don't necessarily believe what Fitday says about calories burned.
Anyway, I feel so strong and independent with my water bottle holster and my light weight hiking boots...the dog had a good time, too.
We both drank out of my water bottle [eeew], but, hey, we were braving the wilderness together.
