Finished day 2 of week 7 for c25k and ran my fastest mile yet of 10:48 I can't believe I can run almost 2 miles straight 7 weeks ago that was not happening

CakeBatter 10-10-2012 10:46 PM

Devadiva thank you. Hopefully you can sneak in a run. It took me forever to start weight training because I just really prefer to run...lol

Aka4981 welcome. I cannot wait to run another half Mary.

I'm3898 3 miles are always better than no miles....unless you're injured of course.
Dollylala CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Feels good doesn't it??

Tonight was weight training night so I only got in 3 miles....seemed like it me FOREVER! BUT I AM HAPPY JUST TO BE RUNNING AGAIN took 35 minutes.

curvynotlumpy 10-11-2012 11:13 AM

3.5 mile evening run. Sun going down, light breeze...beautiful all the way around.

aka8941, best of luck on your 1/2 marathon training. What a fantastic goal. My one big running goal is the 1/2 but I don't know if my wonky ankle could sustain that distance. We'll see.

Have a great day everyone!

Good work Dolly! Seeing progress is truly one of the BEST feelings ever!!!

Curvy - sounds like a really nice run you had!! I love when things go well. I hate treadmill running b/c you lose so much of the outside world..

Did 3 miles last night - last light run before my half marathon on Sunday - hit them a little fast 9 min, 8 min, 7:45 min.

I also started physical therapy yesterday for this foot/toe pain issue I'm having. Basically I severely under-pronate so they are thinking that's the big issue - I bought trail-to-road Asics sneakers w/ cushioning but they feel SO heavy - I'm just likely going to wear my light shoes Sun & run through the pain again.

My last half marathon two weeks ago I did that and still managed to hit under 2:05 so I feel ok about it. This one is a trail half however so I'm really excited even though I know my time will probably just be eh....

Have a great weekend all & I hope you get some wonderful runs in!

CakeBatter 10-12-2012 10:34 AM

lm3898 - WOW under 2:05 that is amazing...i will accomplish that one of these days.

I ran last night with no pain! YAY for 30 minutes!!! I got in 3 miles.
I am still taking it light...I hope to be training for a race soon.

5 miles done at lunch today - I pouted the whole time because it was 42 degrees and I was freezing my butt off!!!!

I think this is my longest weekly mileage - did 29 miles this week. Should have pushed myself 1 more mile for an even 30, but I was too dang cold.

Beck 10-13-2012 07:49 PM

Had to bump up my long run a day early because I'll be out of town tomorrow- 9 miles; another picture perfect day for running. I ran the first 5 with my oldest son (almost 15, runs varsity cross-country), and the last 4 with my 11 year old (he's got amazing speed and endurance, so chatty when running, so the miles go quickly).

Im- good luck with your half!

Cakebatter- Yay for no pain running!

Have a great Sunday, everyone.

devadiva 10-13-2012 10:44 PM

Still on trip but did get a run in this AM on the strand along the beach, all 3.5 miles on pavement Not for me! It was a nice change but too many people too much noise , beach in this area of Calif is near the hwy lots. I am just spoiled with my solitude running its like a religion!

Alenna 52 10-13-2012 11:37 PM

Ran 12 miles outside followed by 11 miles on the treadmill for a total of 23 miles. It was my last long run before the Marine Corps Marathon on the 28th. I'm now into the Taper Madness phase. Feels like impending doom. This seemed like a good idea 3 months ago.... :dizzy: :dizzy:

Happy Sunday all!

ran/walked 11 miles outside this morning.
had a large egg sandwich to recover.
feeling pretty happy.

Oct. 13 Octobrewfest 5K run. Held in the evening and was lots of fun. Since it's close to Halloween many people ran in costume including some man who ran the whole thing in a full dinosaur costume! It looked like it was made out some sort of synthetic bathrobe type of material, and I can only imagine how hot and sweaty and relieved he was once he crossed the finish line and was able to get out of it.

:) :) :)
Good Job CherryPie
I'd rather have 42 instead of 90 we are having...
too dang hot.

lm3898 10-15-2012 08:32 AM

Wow Alenna - 23 miles that's nuts!! Good work!!

master - great work 11 miles is awesome!

Deva - I was thinking about you so much yesterday...after my first trail half I am in awe of you that you do sow ell on trails - it was WAY harder than street running in my opinion!

So yes, I completed my second half marathon in two weeks - this one was a trail one. This trail half was TOUGH - lots of hills, loose dirt, rocks etc. Literally running through the woods for 13 miles. I was SO proud to finish! Did it in 2:15. That's nearly 11 min. slower than the half two weeks ago - the race officials said the avg for the race is a min slower per mile than your normal race pace so it makes sense.

I've been to two sports therapy centers now though and no matter what, I still got the most intense foot pain from miles 5 - 13. Running through that was HARD, I'm glad I did it, glad I finished...onto the next...

CakeBatter 10-15-2012 10:20 AM

I only got in one run on Saturday. 3 miles...no pain...YAAAAAAAY!!! I may go ahead a sign up for a race again!

Alenna - Good luck!!!! I remember training for my marathon last year and the last couple weeks I was asking myself "Whose idea was this!!?"

LM3898 - Congratulations!!!! That is so awesome. I have never done a trail race...I would love to!

Beck - how awesome to have your sons to run with!! I hope to be so lucky in the future.

masterptr 10-15-2012 01:45 PM

Happy Monday all!
