  • Joy!!

I take a Group Power class and it is a blast too, so much energy in the room and fun!!
  • thanx Iilene~ 2nd class today n im still feeling mondays class! such positive energy n motivation in a group setting not to mention the feeling of accompishment at the end, my crippled, fat, old behind made it thru the whole thing! lol!
  • I have never heard of this before but it is definitely something I would love to try. Who doesn't have four minutes a day?? The "no time for exercise" excuse is out the door now!
  • 2nd Tabata down 6 more to go!
kona~ i would definitely recommend trying it! although the 4 minutes is a lil misleading because you really do need to do a warm-up n cool-down period! we also do ab work afterwards to make it an actual 30 minute "class". Do It To It!
  • well, i would and do definitely recommend "Tabata" to everyone! we have ppl of all shapes n sizes, male n female n we sweat like pigs n wore slam out at the end BUT we feel accomplished n good about ourselves for making it thru n laugh our butts off at our "gracefullness"! we r on our 4th class altho i missed the 3rd (kids dental appt.) n look fwd to them i may complain all the way to class but im right there with them when it starts lol!
  • I am not keeping up very well. You would think 10 - 15 minutes a day I could get around to doing. No.. I run out of time! BAH. It's works pretty well too when I do it.
  • Way to go Lady Curves!
    How is it going now?
  • thanx angela~ i can feel the workout all day thru i stay overheated like ive just finished a workout n thats suppose to b normal cuz it keeps burning calories for 24hrs after the fact then the muscle aches n such set it after that n all i can say is WOW what a work-out that i will continue for the next 4 sessions n maybe longer if they decide to extend the class!
  • Tabata isn't only for running... you can do all sorts of workouts using the method... I do Tabata kettlebell swings... impossible to watch the clock while doing them, so I got a Gymboss interval timer... you can find it on amazon.com...
  • The first XFit workout I ever did was tabata (it was only 8 minutes but most tabatas in CrossFit are done for 16). I've never been that out of breath in my life and I had just run a half marathon. I was dead. They're amazing!

We were given 4 exercises (say squats, pushups, pullups, situps) and then you do 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds rest for 8 rounds of each exercise. So 8 rounds of squats, 8 rounds of pushups, etc...

Tabata "mashup" is where you alternate exercises, so one round of squats, one round of pushups etc...and complete that 8 times.

The hardest one I ever did was running tabata though.
