Default Polar Ft4 vs Ft7?

Does anyone have one of these and how do you like it? I am leaning more toward the FT7 but still vacillating. I think having a heart rate monitor will help me. I hate keeping my hands on the bar of the treadmill. Knowing how many calories I burn during zumba will be nice. I am in this for the long haul and knowledge is power.

I love my Polar FT7!! I haven't been using it real long, but enough that I know I will continue to love and use it. I did some research and it seemed like the FT7 had the best features for the money. I find it very motivating to know how many calories I burned, and when I am in an intense workout to look down and see my heart rate helps me for some reason!

Although I am also considering purchasing a Fitbit to use throughout the rest of the day. Unsure about that just yet though!

If you decide to get one I hope you love it!!

I got the Polar FT7 for Christmas and I like it a lot. I hate putting my hands on the treadmill as well, so the HRM is pretty excellent. Also the heart rate monitoring feature syncs pretty well to the machines at my gym so that's a plus. One thing I've noticed is that the Polar FT7 gives me a higher calorie burned reading than the machines at my gym do even when I enter my weight into the gym machines. I don't know how accurate this is, but I'll take it.

The Polar FT7 allows you to enter your age, weight, and height so I assume it's a more accurate calories burned estimation that the gym machine gives. If you're nerdy about heart rate statistics, it has a few cool ones (HR MAX, HR AVG, time spent in fitness zone and time spent in fatburn zone etc). But yeah I definitely recommend the Polar FT7. It's changed my workouts for the better. I

I got the FT7 just for the color
Workouts saved 99 vs 10 on FT4
ft4 cannot pull a weekly report, upload to computer (optional add'l purchase on ft7) and the ft7 has a a stop watch

I really love my F7. One bonus I found the chest strap transmitter links to the treadmills the Y uses. Also I am using activtrax through the Y and the watch downloads my workout at the computer kiosk. How cool is that. I think both of those things would work with the ft4 too. I do like mine. I used in during Zumba and found out how fast my heart was beating and how many calories I burned.

BTW the chest strap is not a problem. I was nervous it would not be big enough. I have taken it in a twice to make it smaller. Wetting the strap is easy.
