JollyGreen - I know how you feel. I HATE running in front of people. It's part of why I put it off so long. Plus where I live, everyone is so fit, tan, healthy, and active. I find it equal parts demoralizing and motivating to be lumbering along the path passing all the beautiful people. I do think it's mostly in our heads though, most people give a passing thought at most to seeing us run. We're out there working it just like them.
Letting a snack settle, then planning on hitting the trail for W2D3. I feel a bit of an idiot with all the stopping and starting while professional runners pass me by on the path, but I'm working on blocking out others and just enjoying myself. It's beautiful out, in the low 70s, the sun is shining and I'm really looking forward to being outside before it snows again next week. |
Hello! Today was my first day on C25K! I downloaded the android app - it's great! I've been trying to get into shape for a while now, but the longest i could run was for 170 meters.
A question - does couch to 5k mean that at the end i will be able to run the distance of 5k non-stop? Or am i getting it wrong? Anyway i would really like to stick to running as a means (other than exercising at home) to lose weight. |
