Hi. So This morning I felt super motivated and decided to go out for a 'run' to see where I'm at since I haven't ran at all since the beginning of November. I started off with a 5 minute warm up walk and then I thought I'd run for as long as I could just to see where I'm at. I made it to 2 minutes, which isn't as long as I was hoping but it is better than when I first tried to run. I'll probably start off on week 2 once I start for real Monday!

I did have some hip pain, right at the top on the outside, of my right hip. Has anyone has any problems with their hips before?? I have had issues with my calves but never my hips.

My left hip always hurts. I'm hoping jogging will either strengthen it or make it to the point where I have it checked! I will do week 1 day 3 this evening when DH gets home to run with me.

So I ran 4 day so far this week. It felt good! I can't wait to run today. I find I run better in the evening than in the morning.

I was really hoping to restart C25K this week and I thought the weather would cooperate after it was almost 20 degrees (celsius) both days last weekend. However it's cooled way down again, it's below freezing currently so I'm still a couple days and realistically at least a week away (I'm a giant wimp when it comes to the cold). It'll probably be good for my hip as it still bothers me a bit, mainly when climbing stairs.

Yesterday I did W3, D1 - I was super nervous about 3 mins of jogging but was actually found the intervals less tiring that W2. I'm finding it hard to restrain myself from not skipping my off-day today. I did a bunch of soft tissue damage to my ankle/knee a year ago while skating and don't want to go too hard too fast. Logically, my brain knows I need to resist the urge to hit the treadmill but it just feels so good to move in the middle of the day :S

So I did w5d2 yesterday. It was hard and I took a few seconds break in the middle of the 8 minute runs. I think I might repeat it today just to try and get through it. lets see

It took a long time for the weather to start cooperating and me to officially restart, but it finally has. I decided to try and start with the W2D3 run on Saturday. It was probably exactly where I needed to be. I was praying for the end of each run to come, but I did manage to complete each one. Yesterday I did W3D1 which I found easier than my run on Saturday. I wasn't even counting down the longer runs. The only problem I had was when I decided to run as fast as I could for the last run and my stomach started cramping halfway through it, I'm not sure how but I managed to finish it still.

I can finally join you all! I dd W1D1 on Sunday and it went better than I expected and I was able to finish the whole thing. I'm hoping to do Day2 today even though it's a little bit cold outside and I have to take the baby with me in the jogging stroller. It should be fun!

Hi all! Jumping in here...

I've never been a runner, and I don't like it much, but I really do enjoy hiking and find that running helps keep me in shape to go further and higher. I'd really like to do a 14er this summer!

Today was W2D2 for me. I started with W2 because I have tried this program before and knew I could handle a bit more than W1. I live right on a walking/running/biking trail, and this evening I am finally able to watch all these fit people running past my window and not feel bad about myself at all, because I was out there earlier too!

Changergirl 04-04-2013 01:10 AM

I did W3D2 last night and surprisingly I had no trouble at all. I easily could have kept running after each run. I'm actually looking forward to do the next run and see if I can do the longer times.

Angelic Fruitcake 04-04-2013 07:24 AM

Woohoo ChangerGirl! So far I've always been looking forward to the workouts. I'll be doing W1D3 today and it's supposed to be really nice outside.

sun 04-04-2013 02:33 PM

Hey everyone!~ GREAT JOB! I am on w7d2 today. I am able to run the 25 minutes with just a couple of small breaks. So proud of myself, Keep going!

Changergirl 04-05-2013 08:30 AM

Everyone is doing amazing! Sun- you should be proud of yourself, I can't wait to get to where you are. I'm still doubting myself that I can be a 'runner'.

I finished W3D3 tonight, it was tough, but nowhere near as difficult as some of the runs I have done in the past. I've attempted this numerous times and I am currently the lightest I have been. Last time I was 30 pounds heavier and I'm starting to realize that it is easier having less weight on me!

I am concerned for 2 reasons for the next run, first it includes multiple 4 minute runs which is currently scary and it's supposed to drop to single digits temperature wise. I'm such a baby when it comes to the weather, but I need to stick with this. Hopefully by Monday (next run) the weather will decide to cooperate.

Snoofie 04-05-2013 08:45 AM

Jumping on the C25K bandwagon. :) I did W1D1 on Tuesday, and I'm going to do D2 tonight after work (like someone else has already mentioned earlier in the thread, I do better in the evenings than in the mornings.)

I've tried the program before but it did NOT go well. This time I'm doing it on a treadmill instead of outside, because I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to running in cold weather. Plus (and I don't know if this is just me or what) but I'm finding it much easier on a treadmill.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed D1; I didn't have any trouble at all completing the runs and was actually shocked when my podcast told me it was time for my five-minute cooldown walk! I felt like a million bucks and I hope it's the same tonight. :D

The only negative thing (and it doesn't bother me THAT much) is that, holy crap, muscle soreness! And it didn't even kick in until yesterday (the second day after the run.) So I took two rest days instead of one because I didn't want to risk any injuries.

JollyGreenSteen19 04-05-2013 09:01 AM

I started strong and got discouraged by snow... the weather is nice here now, finally, it's only April for crying out loud. I was kinda embarrassed cause my husband's cousin saw me out running along the street and I was hoping no one alive would ever have to see me run :S
